ਚਮੂੰ ਚਉਪਿ ਚਾਲੀ ॥
chamoon chaup chaalee |

The army has moved enthusiastically.

ਥਿਰਾ ਸਰਬ ਹਾਲੀ ॥੪੫੭॥
thiraa sarab haalee |457|

He sounded the horn of victory and he planted the column of war again, the whole army in great zeal, marched forward and the whole earth trembled.457.

ਉਠੀ ਕੰਪਿ ਐਸੇ ॥
autthee kanp aaise |

(The earth) thus trembled

ਨਦੰ ਨਾਵ ਜੈਸੇ ॥
nadan naav jaise |

As a boat (rocks) in a river.

ਚੜੇ ਚਉਪ ਸੂਰੰ ॥
charre chaup sooran |

The heroes are excited.

ਰਹਿਓ ਧੂਰ ਪੂਰੰ ॥੪੫੮॥
rahio dhoor pooran |458|

The earth trembled like the boat in water, the warriors moved with great excitement and the atmosphere was filled with dust on all the sides.458.

ਛੁਭੇ ਛਤ੍ਰਧਾਰੀ ॥
chhubhe chhatradhaaree |

Chhatradhari (king) has become angry.

ਅਣੀ ਜੋੜਿ ਭਾਰੀ ॥
anee jorr bhaaree |

(They) have gathered a great army.

ਚਲੇ ਕੋਪਿ ਐਸੇ ॥
chale kop aaise |

(Above the Kalki Avatar) have ascended thus,

ਬ੍ਰਿਤੰ ਇੰਦ੍ਰ ਜੈਸੇ ॥੪੫੯॥
britan indr jaise |459|

All those who had canopies over their heads, got infuriated, taking with them all their armies, in anger, they marched like Indra or Vritasura.459.

ਸੁਭੈ ਸਰਬ ਸੈਣੰ ॥
subhai sarab sainan |

The whole army is cheering.

ਕਥੈ ਕੌਣ ਬੈਣੰ ॥
kathai kauan bainan |

Who can describe (him)?

ਚਲੀ ਸਾਜਿ ਸਾਜਾ ॥
chalee saaj saajaa |

The (army) has marched with equipment

ਬਜੈ ਜੀਤ ਬਾਜਾ ॥੪੬੦॥
bajai jeet baajaa |460|

The glory of their armies is indescribable, all of them marched after bedcking themselves and the instruments of victory were played.460.

ਭੁਜੰਗ ਪ੍ਰਯਾਤ ਛੰਦ ॥
bhujang prayaat chhand |

BHUJANG PRAYAAT STANZA

ਜਿਣੇ ਗਖਰੀ ਪਖਰੀ ਖਗਧਾਰੀ ॥
jine gakharee pakharee khagadhaaree |

(As many) as those who wielded gakhar, pakhar swords (they) have won.

ਹਣੇ ਪਖਰੀ ਭਖਰੀ ਔ ਕੰਧਾਰੀ ॥
hane pakharee bhakharee aau kandhaaree |

Pakhar, Bhakhar and Kandahar (countrymen) have been killed.

ਗੁਰਜਿਸਤਾਨ ਗਾਜੀ ਰਜੀ ਰੋਹਿ ਰੂਮੀ ॥
gurajisataan gaajee rajee rohi roomee |

Ghazis of Gurjistan, Raji, Roh Rumi warriors have been killed

ਹਣੇ ਸੂਰ ਬੰਕੇ ਗਿਰੇ ਝੂਮਿ ਭੂਮੀ ॥੪੬੧॥
hane soor banke gire jhoom bhoomee |461|

Many bloody and great sword-wielders and armour-wearers were conquered, many Kandhari warriors, wearing large steel-armours, were destroyed, many elegant warriors of Rum country were killed and those great warriors swung and fell on the earth.461.

ਹਣੇ ਕਾਬੁਲੀ ਬਾਬਲੀ ਬੀਰ ਬਾਕੇ ॥
hane kaabulee baabalee beer baake |

The beautiful warriors of the country of Kabul, the country of Babur have been killed.

ਕੰਧਾਰੀ ਹਰੇਵੀ ਇਰਾਕੀ ਨਿਸਾਕੇ ॥
kandhaaree harevee iraakee nisaake |

Nisang Warriors of Kandahar, Herat, Iraq;

ਬਲੀ ਬਾਲਖੀ ਰੋਹਿ ਰੂਮੀ ਰਜੀਲੇ ॥
balee baalakhee rohi roomee rajeele |

Bally Roh Wale of Balkh country, Rum country

ਭਜੇ ਤ੍ਰਾਸ ਕੈ ਕੈ ਭਏ ਬੰਦ ਢੀਲੇ ॥੪੬੨॥
bhaje traas kai kai bhe band dteele |462|

The warriors of Kabul, Babylonia, Kandhar, Iraq and Balkh were destroyed an d they all, getting fearful, fled away.462.

ਤਜੇ ਅਸਤ੍ਰ ਸਸਤ੍ਰੰ ਸਜੇ ਨਾਰਿ ਭੇਸੰ ॥
taje asatr sasatran saje naar bhesan |

(They) have given up weapons and armor and have put on women's armor.

ਲਜੈ ਬੀਰ ਧੀਰੰ ਚਲੇ ਛਾਡਿ ਦੇਸੰ ॥
lajai beer dheeran chale chhaadd desan |

(Thus) the long-suffering warriors have left the country in shame.

ਗਜੀ ਬਾਜਿ ਗਾਜੀ ਰਥੀ ਰਾਜ ਹੀਣੰ ॥
gajee baaj gaajee rathee raaj heenan |

Ghazis riding elephants, horsemen and charioteers have been deprived of their kingdoms.

ਤਜੈ ਬੀਰ ਧੀਰੰ ਭਏ ਅੰਗ ਛੀਣੰ ॥੪੬੩॥
tajai beer dheeran bhe ang chheenan |463|

The warriors, abandoning their arms and weapons, assumed the garb of women and getting ashamed, left their own country, the elephant-riders, the horse-riders and chariot-riders were deprived of their kingdom and the warriors forsaking forbearance, became

ਭਜੇ ਹਾਬਸੀ ਹਾਲਬੀ ਕਉਕ ਬੰਦ੍ਰੀ ॥
bhaje haabasee haalabee kauk bandree |

The people of Habash country, Halab country, Kok Bandar (Maharashtra) have fled.

ਚਲੇ ਬਰਬਰੀ ਅਰਮਨੀ ਛਾਡਿ ਤੰਦ੍ਰੀ ॥
chale barabaree aramanee chhaadd tandree |

Berber (wild) countrymen, Armenia countrymen have left (their) kingdoms ('Tandri') and walked away.

ਖੁਲਿਓ ਖਗ ਖੂਨੀ ਤਹਾ ਏਕ ਗਾਜੀ ॥
khulio khag khoonee tahaa ek gaajee |

There, a brave warrior has taken the bloody sword.

ਦੁਹੂੰ ਸੈਣ ਮਧੰ ਨਚਿਓ ਜਾਇ ਤਾਜੀ ॥੪੬੪॥
duhoon sain madhan nachio jaae taajee |464|

The negroes and people of other countries fled away, and in the same way, the barbarians of Armenia also ran away, there one of the warriors taking out his sword, caused his horse to dance between both the armies.464.

ਲਖਿਓ ਜੁਧ ਜੰਗੀ ਮਹਾ ਜੰਗ ਕਰਤਾ ॥
lakhio judh jangee mahaa jang karataa |

Warriors in war have known him (Kalki) as a great warrior

ਛੁਭਿਓ ਛਤ੍ਰਧਾਰੀ ਰਣੰ ਛਤ੍ਰਿ ਹਰਤਾ ॥
chhubhio chhatradhaaree ranan chhatr harataa |

That (in war) the one who loses the umbrellas of the umbrella-bearers is (at this time) enraged.

ਦੁਰੰ ਦੁਰਦਗਾਮੀ ਦਲੰ ਜੁਧ ਜੇਤਾ ॥
duran duradagaamee dalan judh jetaa |

Those who ride elephants ('durdgami') and those who conquer the armies in war (surame also) have gone into hiding ('duran').

ਛੁਭੇ ਛਤ੍ਰਿ ਹੰਤਾ ਜਯੰ ਜੁਧ ਹੇਤਾ ॥੪੬੫॥
chhubhe chhatr hantaa jayan judh hetaa |465|

The Lord, the Great Creator of the wars saw all this and the destroyer of the great canopied-kings, the Lord (Kalki) became enraged, that Lord was the conqueror of the noteworthy most tyrannical armies and he got terrible infuriated.465.

ਮਹਾ ਕ੍ਰੋਧ ਕੈ ਬਾਣ ਛਡੇ ਅਪਾਰੰ ॥
mahaa krodh kai baan chhadde apaaran |

(He) in great anger has shot innumerable arrows.

ਕਟੇ ਟਟਰੰ ਫਉਜ ਫੁਟੀ ਨ੍ਰਿਪਾਰੰ ॥
katte ttattaran fauj futtee nripaaran |

Shields (or helmets) are cut off and the armies of kings are scattered.

ਗਿਰੀ ਲੁਥ ਜੁਥੰ ਮਿਲੇ ਹਥ ਬਥੰ ॥
giree luth juthan mile hath bathan |

Groups of warriors are lying (on the battlefield) and (many warriors) are huddled together.

ਗਿਰੇ ਅੰਗ ਭੰਗੰ ਰਣੰ ਮੁਖ ਜੁਥੰ ॥੪੬੬॥
gire ang bhangan ranan mukh juthan |466|

He discharged arrows in great rage and the army of that king was chopped and knocked down, the corpses fell in groups, heaps of hands, waists and other broken limbs fell down.466.

ਕਰੈ ਕੇਲ ਕੰਕੀ ਕਿਲਕੈਤ ਕਾਲੀ ॥
karai kel kankee kilakait kaalee |

The crows (who peck at the dead) rejoice and the blackbird chirps.

ਤਜੈ ਜ੍ਵਾਲ ਮਾਲਾ ਮਹਾ ਜੋਤਿ ਜ੍ਵਾਲੀ ॥
tajai jvaal maalaa mahaa jot jvaalee |

That volcano of great flame emits flames of fire (from its mouth).

ਹਸੈ ਭੂਤ ਪ੍ਰੇਤੰ ਤੁਟੈ ਤਥਿ ਤਾਲੰ ॥
hasai bhoot pretan tuttai tath taalan |

Ghosts are laughing and the rhythms of Tatt-Thaya are breaking.

ਫਿਰੈ ਗਉਰ ਦੌਰੀ ਪੁਐ ਰੁੰਡ ਮਾਲੰ ॥੪੬੭॥
firai gaur dauaree puaai rundd maalan |467|

The crows shouted caw and the flames of fire arose creating crackling noise, the ghosts and fiends laughed there and the goddess Kali ran, while stringing the rosaries of skulls.467.

ਰਸਾਵਲ ਛੰਦ ॥
rasaaval chhand |

RASAAVAL STANZA

ਕਰੈ ਜੁਧ ਕ੍ਰੁਧੰ ॥
karai judh krudhan |

(Warriors) become angry and fight.

ਤਜੈ ਬਾਣ ਸੁਧੰ ॥
tajai baan sudhan |

Shoot arrows correctly.

ਬਕੈ ਮਾਰੁ ਮਾਰੰ ॥
bakai maar maaran |

They say (from the mouth) 'Maro Maro'.

ਤਜੈ ਬਾਣ ਧਾਰੰ ॥੪੬੮॥
tajai baan dhaaran |468|

The warriors, getting enraged, waged war and discharged arrows, they were shouting “kill, kill”, while showering arrows.468.
