ਸੁਨਿਯਤ ਬਸਤ ਸਮੁਦ ਕੇ ਪਾਰਾ ॥
suniyat basat samud ke paaraa |Heard, lives across the ocean.
ਹੈ ਅਵਧੂਤ ਮਤੀ ਦੁਹਿਤਾ ਤਿਹ ॥
hai avadhoot matee duhitaa tih |He has (one) daughter named Avadhuta Mati,
ਅਵਰ ਨ ਘੜੀ ਬਿਧਾਤਾ ਸਮ ਜਿਹ ॥੭॥
avar na gharree bidhaataa sam jih |7|There is no other watch like which Vidhata has.7.
ਪ੍ਰਥਮ ਤੂ ਤਿਸੈ ਮੋਹਿ ਮਿਲਾਵੈ ॥
pratham too tisai mohi milaavai |First you introduce him to me.
ਤਾ ਪਾਛੇ ਮੋ ਸੌ ਪਤਿ ਪਾਵੈ ॥
taa paachhe mo sau pat paavai |After that get a husband like me.
ਯੌ ਜੋ ਕੋਟਿ ਉਪਾਵ ਬਨੈ ਹੈ ॥
yau jo kott upaav banai hai |However, if you have done crores of measures,
ਤੌ ਮੋ ਸੋ ਨਹਿ ਭੋਗਨ ਪੈ ਹੈ ॥੮॥
tau mo so neh bhogan pai hai |8|Even then you will not be able to make love with me. 8.
ਯੌ ਹੀ ਸਖੀ ਜਾਇ ਤਿਹ ਕਹੀ ॥
yau hee sakhee jaae tih kahee |Similarly Sakhi went and said to him,
ਮਨ ਬਚ ਕੁਅਰਿ ਚਕ੍ਰਿਤ ਹ੍ਵੈ ਰਹੀ ॥
man bach kuar chakrit hvai rahee |(Hearing which) the Kumari was amazed in mind and speech.
ਚਿਤ ਮੌ ਅਨਿਕ ਚਟਪਟੀ ਲਾਗੀ ॥
chit mau anik chattapattee laagee |He was very restless in his mind,
ਤਾ ਤੇ ਨੀਂਦ ਭੂਖ ਸਭ ਭਾਗੀ ॥੯॥
taa te neend bhookh sabh bhaagee |9|Due to which the sleepless hunger all went away. 9.
ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਪਾਰ ਜਾਯੋ ਨਹਿ ਜਾਵੈ ॥
samundar paar jaayo neh jaavai |(Until) the sea is crossed,
ਤਊ ਕੁਅਰਿ ਕੋ ਸਾਤਿ ਨ ਆਵੈ ॥
taoo kuar ko saat na aavai |Till then Kumari does not get peace.
ਸਾਜ ਤਹਾ ਚਲਿਬੇ ਕੋ ਕਰਾ ॥
saaj tahaa chalibe ko karaa |(Kumari) prepared to go there
ਤੀਰਥ ਜਾਤ ਹੌ ਪਿਤਹਿ ਉਚਰਾ ॥੧੦॥
teerath jaat hau piteh ucharaa |10|And told the father to go on pilgrimages. 10.
ਸਾਜ ਬਾਜ ਸਭ ਕੀਆ ਤ੍ਯਾਰਾ ॥
saaj baaj sabh keea tayaaraa |Completed all the preparation of the instrument
ਤਹ ਹ੍ਵੈ ਚਲੀ ਬਾਜ ਅਸਵਾਰਾ ॥
tah hvai chalee baaj asavaaraa |And she rode on a horse.
ਸੇਤਬੰਧ ਰਾਮੇਸ੍ਵਰ ਗਈ ॥
setabandh raamesvar gee |(She) reached Setbandha Rameshwar
ਇਹ ਬਿਧਿ ਹ੍ਰਿਦੈ ਬਿਚਾਰਤ ਭਈ ॥੧੧॥
eih bidh hridai bichaarat bhee |11|And started thinking like this in the mind. 11.
ਤਾ ਤੇ ਹ੍ਵੈ ਜਹਾਜ ਅਸਵਾਰਾ ॥
taa te hvai jahaaj asavaaraa |Boarded the plane from there
ਗਈ ਸਿੰਗਲਾਦੀਪ ਮਝਾਰਾ ॥
gee singalaadeep majhaaraa |And reached Singladeep.
ਜਹ ਤਿਹ ਸੁਨਾ ਰਾਜ ਕੋ ਧਾਮਾ ॥
jah tih sunaa raaj ko dhaamaa |Where the king's palace was heard,
ਜਾਤ ਭਈ ਤਹ ਹੀ ਕੌ ਬਾਮਾ ॥੧੨॥
jaat bhee tah hee kau baamaa |12|That woman went there. 12.
ਤਹ ਗੀ ਪੁਰਖ ਭੇਸ ਕੋ ਕਰਿ ਕੈ ॥
tah gee purakh bhes ko kar kai |There he put various ornaments
ਭਾਤਿ ਭਾਤਿ ਕੇ ਭੂਖਨ ਧਰਿ ਕੈ ॥
bhaat bhaat ke bhookhan dhar kai |And went disguised as a man.
ਜਬ ਅਵਧੂਤ ਮਤੀ ਤਿਹ ਹੇਰਾ ॥
jab avadhoot matee tih heraa |When Avadhuta Mati saw him
ਰਾਜ ਕੁਅਰ ਜਾਨ੍ਯੋ ਕਹੂੰ ਕੇਰਾ ॥੧੩॥
raaj kuar jaanayo kahoon keraa |13|So he thought he was the king of someone (country). 13.
ਨਿਰਖਤ ਕੁਅਰਿ ਮਦਨ ਬਸਿ ਭਈ ॥
nirakhat kuar madan bas bhee |Seeing him, Raj Kumari fell in love.
ਅੰਗ ਅੰਗ ਬਿਹਬਲ ਹ੍ਵੈ ਗਈ ॥
ang ang bihabal hvai gee |His limbs were crippled.
ਚਿਤ ਮਹਿ ਕਹਾ ਇਸੀ ਕਹ ਬਰਿ ਹੌ ॥
chit meh kahaa isee kah bar hau |Chit started saying that this is the same,
ਨਾਤਰ ਘਾਇ ਕਟਾਰੀ ਮਰਿ ਹੌ ॥੧੪॥
naatar ghaae kattaaree mar hau |14|Otherwise, I will die by stabbing. 14.
ਦੇਖੈ ਲਗੀ ਸੀਸ ਨਿਹੁਰਾਈ ॥
dekhai lagee sees nihuraaee |She lowered her head and started looking.
ਤਿਹ ਤ੍ਰਿਯ ਘਾਤ ਇਹੈ ਕਰ ਆਈ ॥
tih triy ghaat ihai kar aaee |So that lady took the opportunity and came here.
ਤੁਰੰਗ ਧਵਾਇ ਜਾਤ ਤਹ ਭਈ ॥
turang dhavaae jaat tah bhee |Ran the horse and reached there
ਸਿੰਘਨਿ ਜਾਨੁ ਮ੍ਰਿਗੀ ਗਹਿ ਲਈ ॥੧੫॥
singhan jaan mrigee geh lee |15|As the lioness has caught the deer. 15.
ਝਟਕਿ ਝਰੋਖਾ ਤੇ ਗਹਿ ਲਈ ॥
jhattak jharokhaa te geh lee |Caught (him) with a jerk from the window
ਬਾਧਤ ਸਾਥ ਪ੍ਰਿਸਟ ਕੇ ਭਈ ॥
baadhat saath prisatt ke bhee |And tied to the back.
ਹਾਹਾ ਭਾਖਿ ਲੋਗ ਪਚਿ ਹਾਰੇ ॥
haahaa bhaakh log pach haare |All the people groaned and tired,
ਰਾਖਿ ਨ ਸਕੇ ਤਾਹਿ ਰਖਵਾਰੇ ॥੧੬॥
raakh na sake taeh rakhavaare |16|But no defender could save him. 16.
ਬਾਧਿ ਪ੍ਰਿਸਟਿ ਤਿਹ ਤੁਰੰਗ ਧਵਾਯੋ ॥
baadh prisatt tih turang dhavaayo |Tying him to the back (the woman) drove away the horse.
ਏਕੈ ਬਾਨ ਮਿਲਾ ਸੋ ਘਾਯੋ ॥
ekai baan milaa so ghaayo |(Who) struck, killed him with a single arrow.
ਤਾ ਕਹ ਜੀਤਿ ਧਾਮ ਲੈ ਆਈ ॥
taa kah jeet dhaam lai aaee |She won and brought him home.
ਸਖੀ ਕੁਅਰ ਕੇ ਧਾਮ ਪਠਾਈ ॥੧੭॥
sakhee kuar ke dhaam patthaaee |17|Then Sakhi was sent to Raj Kumar's house. 17.
ਜੋ ਤੁਮ ਕਹਾ ਕਾਜ ਮੈ ਕਿਯਾ ॥
jo tum kahaa kaaj mai kiyaa |(and sent saying) what you said,
ਅਪਨੋ ਬੋਲ ਨਿਬਾਹਹੁ ਪਿਯਾ ॥
apano bol nibaahahu piyaa |have done that work. Oh dear!
ਪ੍ਰਥਮ ਬ੍ਯਾਹਿ ਮੋ ਕੌ ਲੈ ਜਾਵੌ ॥
pratham bayaeh mo kau lai jaavau |Now you fulfill your word. marry me first
ਤਾ ਪਾਛੇ ਯਾ ਕਹ ਤੁਮ ਪਾਵੌ ॥੧੮॥
taa paachhe yaa kah tum paavau |18|After that you get it. 18.
ਰਾਜ ਕੁਅਰ ਤਬ ਹੀ ਤਹ ਆਯੋ ॥
raaj kuar tab hee tah aayo |Raj Kumar came there only then
