ਅੜਿਲ ॥
arril |adamant:
ਸੁਰੀ ਆਸੁਰੀ ਕਿੰਨ੍ਰਨਿ ਕਵਨ ਬਿਚਾਰਿਯੈ ॥
suree aasuree kinran kavan bichaariyai |(Kunwar started asking) Tell me, who are you among the god woman, demon woman or Kinnari?
ਨਰੀ ਨਾਗਨੀ ਨਗਨੀ ਕੋ ਜਿਯ ਧਾਰਿਯੈ ॥
naree naaganee naganee ko jiy dhaariyai |Who is Nari, Nagni or Paharan (and) what is in mind?
ਗੰਧਰਬੀ ਅਪਸਰਾ ਕਵਨ ਇਹ ਜਾਨਿਯੈ ॥
gandharabee apasaraa kavan ih jaaniyai |Gandharbi or Apachhara, which of them should be considered?
ਹੋ ਰਵੀ ਸਸੀ ਬਾਸਵੀ ਪਾਰਬਤੀ ਮਾਨਿਯੈ ॥੨੬॥
ho ravee sasee baasavee paarabatee maaniyai |26|Or let us consider the transcendence of Sun, Moon, Indra or Shiva. 26.
ਰਾਜ ਕੁਮਾਰ ਨਿਰਖ ਤਹ ਰਹਾ ਲੁਭਾਇ ਕੈ ॥
raaj kumaar nirakh tah rahaa lubhaae kai |Rajkumar became fascinated by seeing her.
ਪੂਛਤ ਭਯੋ ਚਲਿ ਤਾਹਿ ਤੀਰ ਤਿਹ ਜਾਇ ਕੈ ॥
poochhat bhayo chal taeh teer tih jaae kai |Go to him and ask
ਨਰੀ ਨਾਗਨੀ ਨਗਨੀ ਇਨ ਤੇ ਕਵਨਿ ਤੁਯ ॥
naree naaganee naganee in te kavan tuy |Who are you among the male, female, mountain woman?
ਹੋ ਕਵਨ ਸਾਚੁ ਕਹਿ ਕਹਿਯੋ ਸੁ ਤਾ ਤੈ ਏਸ ਭੁਅ ॥੨੭॥
ho kavan saach keh kahiyo su taa tai es bhua |27|(You) who are you, tell the truth, give the king of this land (meaning - or daughter of this land. 'Kahyo sata tai is bhu') 27.
ਦੋਹਰਾ ॥
doharaa |dual:
ਮਨ ਬਚ ਕ੍ਰਮ ਮੈ ਤੋਰਿ ਛਬਿ ਨਿਰਖਤ ਗਯੋ ਲੁਭਾਇ ॥
man bach kram mai tor chhab nirakhat gayo lubhaae |I have become enthralled in mind, word and deed by seeing your image.
ਅਬ ਹੀ ਹ੍ਵੈ ਅਪਨੀ ਬਸਹੁ ਧਾਮ ਹਮਾਰੇ ਆਇ ॥੨੮॥
ab hee hvai apanee basahu dhaam hamaare aae |28|Now come and live in my house by becoming my (wife). 28.
ਅੜਿਲ ॥
arril |adamant:
ਏਕ ਆਧ ਬਿਰ ਨਾਹਿ ਨਾਹਿ ਤਿਨ ਭਾਖਿਯੋ ॥
ek aadh bir naeh naeh tin bhaakhiyo |She (the woman) said 'no no no' half a time.
ਲਗੀ ਨਿਗੋਡੀ ਲਗਨ ਜਾਤ ਨਹਿ ਆਖਿਯੋ ॥
lagee nigoddee lagan jaat neh aakhiyo |But bad persistence was such that it could not be done.
ਅੰਤ ਕੁਅਰ ਜੋ ਕਹਾ ਮਾਨਿ ਸੋਈ ਲਿਯੋ ॥
ant kuar jo kahaa maan soee liyo |In the end, Kunwar accepted what he said.
ਹੋ ਪਤਿ ਸੁਤ ਪ੍ਰਥਮ ਸੰਘਾਰਿ ਲਹੁ ਸੁਤ ਛਲਿ ਪਿਯ ਕਿਯੋ ॥੨੯॥
ho pat sut pratham sanghaar lahu sut chhal piy kiyo |29|First, after killing the husband and son, (then) he made the younger son (his) beloved by trickery. 29.
ਇਤਿ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਚਰਿਤ੍ਰ ਪਖ੍ਯਾਨੇ ਤ੍ਰਿਯਾ ਚਰਿਤ੍ਰੇ ਮੰਤ੍ਰੀ ਭੂਪ ਸੰਬਾਦੇ ਦੋਇ ਸੌ ਉਨਾਸਠਿ ਚਰਿਤ੍ਰ ਸਮਾਪਤਮ ਸਤੁ ਸੁਭਮ ਸਤੁ ॥੨੫੯॥੪੯੧੭॥ਅਫਜੂੰ॥
eit sree charitr pakhayaane triyaa charitre mantree bhoop sanbaade doe sau unaasatth charitr samaapatam sat subham sat |259|4917|afajoon|Here ends the 259th charitra of Mantri Bhup Sambad of Tria Charitra of Sri Charitropakhyan, all is auspicious. 259.4917. goes on

ਮਸਤ ਕਰਨ ਇਕ ਨ੍ਰਿਪਤਿ ਜਗਿਸ੍ਵੀ ॥
masat karan ik nripat jagisvee |There was a great king named Mast Karan,
ਤੇਜ ਭਾਨ ਬਲਵਾਨ ਤਪਸ੍ਵੀ ॥
tej bhaan balavaan tapasvee |Who was bright like the sun, strong and ascetic.
ਸ੍ਰੀ ਕਜਰਾਛ ਮਤੀ ਤਿਹ ਦਾਰਾ ॥
sree kajaraachh matee tih daaraa |Kajrach Mati was his wife
ਪਾਰਬਤੀ ਕੋ ਜਨੁ ਅਵਤਾਰਾ ॥੧॥
paarabatee ko jan avataaraa |1|Who is supposed to be an incarnation of Parbati. 1.
ਅੜਿਲ ॥

ਮਸਤ ਕਰਨ ਨ੍ਰਿਪ ਸਿਵ ਪੂਜਾ ਨਿਤਪ੍ਰਤਿ ਕਰੈ ॥
masat karan nrip siv poojaa nitaprat karai |King Mast Karan used to worship Shiva every day
ਭਾਤਿ ਅਨਿਕ ਕੇ ਧ੍ਯਾਨ ਜਾਨਿ ਗੁਰ ਪਗੁ ਪਰੈ ॥
bhaat anik ke dhayaan jaan gur pag parai |And after doing various meditations, he used to fall at the Guru's feet.
ਰੈਨਿ ਦਿਵਸ ਤਪਸਾ ਕੇ ਬਿਖੈ ਬਿਤਾਵਈ ॥
rain divas tapasaa ke bikhai bitaavee |He used to spend day and night in penance
ਹੋ ਰਾਨੀ ਕੇ ਗ੍ਰਿਹ ਭੂਲਿ ਨ ਕਬ ਹੀ ਆਵਈ ॥੨॥
ho raanee ke grih bhool na kab hee aavee |2|And he did not even forget to come to the house of the queen. 2.
ਰਾਨੀ ਏਕ ਪੁਰਖ ਸੌ ਅਤਿ ਹਿਤ ਠਾਨਿ ਕੈ ॥
raanee ek purakh sau at hit tthaan kai |The queen, having fallen in love with a man,
ਰਮਤ ਭਈ ਤਿਹ ਸੰਗ ਅਧਿਕ ਰੁਚਿ ਮਾਨਿ ਕੈ ॥
ramat bhee tih sang adhik ruch maan kai |She used to dance with him very keenly.
ਸੋਤ ਹੁਤੀ ਸੁਪਨਾ ਮਹਿ ਸਿਵ ਦਰਸਨ ਦਿਯੋ ॥
sot hutee supanaa meh siv darasan diyo |(She said to her husband the king, I) was sleeping when Shiva gave me darshan in my dream
ਹੋ ਬਚਨ ਆਪਨੇ ਮੁਖ ਤੇ ਹਸਿ ਮੁਹਿ ਯੌ ਕਿਯੋ ॥੩॥
ho bachan aapane mukh te has muhi yau kiyo |3|And laughing from his face said these words to me. 3.
ਸਿਵ ਬਾਚ ॥
siv baach |Shiva said:
ਇਕ ਗਹਿਰੇ ਬਨ ਬਿਚ ਤੁਮ ਏਕਲ ਆਇਯੇ ॥
eik gahire ban bich tum ekal aaeiye |You come alone in a dense bun
ਕਰਿ ਕੈ ਪੂਜਾ ਮੋਰੀ ਮੋਹਿ ਰਿਝਾਇਯੋ ॥
kar kai poojaa moree mohi rijhaaeiyo |Worship me and please me.
ਜੋਤਿ ਆਪਨੇ ਸੌ ਤਵ ਜੋਤਿ ਮਿਲਾਇ ਹੋ ॥
jot aapane sau tav jot milaae ho |I will mix your flame with mine
ਹੋ ਤੁਹਿ ਕਹ ਜੀਵਤ ਮੁਕਤਿ ਸੁ ਜਗਤਿ ਦਿਖਾਇ ਹੌ ॥੪॥
ho tuhi kah jeevat mukat su jagat dikhaae hau |4|And I will show you to the world by freeing your life. 4.
ਤਾ ਤੇ ਤਵ ਆਗ੍ਯਾ ਲੈ ਪਤਿ ਤਹਿ ਜਾਇ ਹੌ ॥
taa te tav aagayaa lai pat teh jaae hau |So O Husband Dev! I am going there with your permission.
ਕਰਿ ਕੈ ਸਿਵ ਕੀ ਪੂਜਾ ਅਧਿਕ ਰਿਝਾਇ ਹੌ ॥
kar kai siv kee poojaa adhik rijhaae hau |By worshiping Shiva, I make (him) very happy.
ਮੋ ਕਹ ਜੀਵਤ ਮੁਕਤਿ ਸਦਾ ਸਿਵ ਕਰਹਿਾਂਗੇ ॥
mo kah jeevat mukat sadaa siv karahiaange |I will always be freed by Shiva.
ਹੋ ਸਪਤ ਮਾਤ੍ਰ ਕੁਲ ਸਪਤ ਪਿਤਰ ਕੁਲ ਤਰਹਿਾਂਗੇ ॥੫॥
ho sapat maatr kul sapat pitar kul tarahiaange |5|(As a result of which) the seven clans of the fathers and grandfathers of the fathers will disappear. 5.
ਦੋਹਰਾ ॥
doharaa |dual:
ਭੇ ਨ੍ਰਿਪ ਕੀ ਆਗ੍ਯਾ ਗਈ ਲੈ ਸਿਵ ਜੂ ਕੋ ਨਾਮ ॥
bhe nrip kee aagayaa gee lai siv joo ko naam |Taking the name of Shiva, she left with the permission of the king.
ਜਿਯਤ ਮੁਕਤਿ ਭੀ ਪਤਿ ਲਹਾ ਬਸੀ ਜਾਰ ਦੇ ਧਾਮ ॥੬॥
jiyat mukat bhee pat lahaa basee jaar de dhaam |6|The husband thought that life has become free, but he has gone to live at his friend's house. 6.
ਇਤਿ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਚਰਿਤ੍ਰ ਪਖ੍ਯਾਨੇ ਤ੍ਰਿਯਾ ਚਰਿਤ੍ਰੇ ਮੰਤ੍ਰੀ ਭੂਪ ਸੰਬਾਦੇ ਦੋਇ ਸੌ ਸਾਠ ਚਰਿਤ੍ਰ ਸਮਾਪਤਮ ਸਤੁ ਸੁਭਮ ਸਤੁ ॥੨੬੦॥੪੯੨੩॥ਅਫਜੂੰ॥
eit sree charitr pakhayaane triyaa charitre mantree bhoop sanbaade doe sau saatth charitr samaapatam sat subham sat |260|4923|afajoon|Here is the conclusion of the 260th chapter of Mantri Bhup Sambad of Tria Charitra of Sri Charitropakhyan, all is auspicious. 260.4923. goes on

ਜਨੁਕ ਦੁਤਿਯ ਜਗ ਵਯੋ ਪ੍ਰਭਾਕਰ ॥
januk dutiy jag vayo prabhaakar |As if the second sun (appeared) in the world.
