ਮੁਰ ਮਾਰਿ ਦਯੋ ਘਟਿਕਾਨ ਕਰੀ ਰਿਪੁ ਜਾ ਸੀਅ ਕੀ ਜੀਯ ਪੀਰ ਹਰੀ ਹੈ ॥
mur maar dayo ghattikaan karee rip jaa seea kee jeey peer haree hai |who had slain the demon Mur and destroyed (destroyed) the enemy (planet) of Kumbhakaran and the elephant; Then the one who took away the pain of Sita's heart,
ਸੋ ਬ੍ਰਿਜ ਭੂਮਿ ਬਿਖੈ ਭਗਵਾਨ ਸੁ ਗਊਅਨ ਕੈ ਮਿਸ ਖੇਲ ਕਰੀ ਹੈ ॥੩੯੭॥
so brij bhoom bikhai bhagavaan su gaooan kai mis khel karee hai |397|“He, who killed the demon named Sura and killing the enemy, removed the suffering of Sita, the same Lord, having taken birth in Braja, is playing with his cows.397.
ਜਾਹਿ ਸਹੰਸ੍ਰ ਫਨੀ ਤਨ ਊਪਰਿ ਸੋਇ ਕਰੀ ਜਲ ਭੀਤਰ ਕ੍ਰੀੜਾ ॥
jaeh sahansr fanee tan aoopar soe karee jal bheetar kreerraa |“He, who plays in the waters, being seated on Sheshanaga of thousands of heads
ਜਾਹਿ ਬਿਭੀਛਨ ਰਾਜ ਦਯੋ ਅਰੁ ਜਾਹਿ ਦਈ ਕੁਪਿ ਰਾਵਨ ਪੀੜਾ ॥
jaeh bibheechhan raaj dayo ar jaeh dee kup raavan peerraa |He, who in greatire, agonized Ravana and gave kingdom to Vibhishana
ਜਾਹਿ ਦਯੋ ਕਰ ਕੈ ਜਗ ਭੀਤਰ ਜੀਵ ਚਰਾਚਰ ਅਉ ਗਜ ਕੀੜਾ ॥
jaeh dayo kar kai jag bheetar jeev charaachar aau gaj keerraa |“He, who mercifully gave life-breath to the movable and immovable beings and to the elephants and worms in the whole world
ਖੇਲਤ ਸੋ ਬ੍ਰਿਜ ਭੂਮਿ ਬਿਖੈ ਜਿਨਿ ਕੀਲ ਸੁਰਾਸੁਰ ਬੀਚ ਝਗੀੜਾ ॥੩੯੮॥
khelat so brij bhoom bikhai jin keel suraasur beech jhageerraa |398|He is the same Lord, who is playing in Braja and who has ever seen the war between the gods and demons.398.
ਬੀਰ ਬਡੇ ਦੁਰਜੋਧਨ ਆਦਿਕ ਜਾਹਿ ਮਰਾਇ ਡਰੇ ਰਨਿ ਛਤ੍ਰੀ ॥
beer badde durajodhan aadik jaeh maraae ddare ran chhatree |“He, from whom, Duryodhana and other great warriors fear in the battlefield
ਜਾਹਿ ਮਰਿਯੋ ਸਿਸੁਪਾਲ ਰਿਸੈ ਕਰਿ ਰਾਜਨ ਮੈ ਕ੍ਰਿਸਨੰ ਬਰ ਅਤ੍ਰੀ ॥
jaeh mariyo sisupaal risai kar raajan mai krisanan bar atree |He, who, in great rage, killed Shishupala, the same mighty hero is this Krishna
ਖੇਲਤ ਹੈ ਸੋਊ ਗਊਅਨ ਮੈ ਜੋਊ ਹੈ ਜਗ ਕੋ ਕਰਤਾ ਬਧ ਸਤ੍ਰੀ ॥
khelat hai soaoo gaooan mai joaoo hai jag ko karataa badh satree |“The same Krishna is playing with his cows and the same Krishna is the killer of enemies and the creator of the whole world
ਆਗਿ ਸੋ ਧੂਮ੍ਰ ਲਪੇਟਤ ਜਿਉ ਫੁਨਿ ਗੋਪ ਕਹਾਵਤ ਹੈ ਇਹ ਛਤ੍ਰੀ ॥੩੯੯॥
aag so dhoomr lapettat jiau fun gop kahaavat hai ih chhatree |399|And the same Krishna shines like a spark of fire amidst the smoke and calls himself a gopa, being a Kshatriya.399.
ਕਰ ਜੁਧ ਮਰੇ ਇਕਲੇ ਮਧੁ ਕੀਟਭ ਰਾਜੁ ਸਤਕ੍ਰਿਤ ਕੋ ਜਿਹ ਦੀਆ ॥
kar judh mare ikale madh keettabh raaj satakrit ko jih deea |“Engaged in war with him, the demons Madhu and Kaitabh were killed and it was he, who gave kingdom toe Indra
ਕੁੰਭਕਰਨ ਮਰਿਯੋ ਜਿਨਿ ਹੈ ਅਰੁ ਰਾਵਨ ਕੋ ਛਿਨ ਮੈ ਬਧ ਕੀਆ ॥
kunbhakaran mariyo jin hai ar raavan ko chhin mai badh keea |Kumbhkarna also died, fighting with him and he killed Ravana in an instant
ਰਾਜੁ ਬਿਭੀਛਨ ਦੇ ਕਰਿ ਆਨੰਦ ਅਉਧਿ ਚਲਿਯੋ ਸੰਗਿ ਲੈ ਕਰਿ ਸੀਆ ॥
raaj bibheechhan de kar aanand aaudh chaliyo sang lai kar seea |“It was he who after giving kingdom to Vibhishana and taking Sita with him,
ਪਾਪਨ ਕੇ ਬਧ ਕਾਰਨ ਸੋ ਅਵਤਾਰ ਬਿਖੈ ਬ੍ਰਿਜ ਕੇ ਅਬ ਲੀਆ ॥੪੦੦॥
paapan ke badh kaaran so avataar bikhai brij ke ab leea |400|Went towards Avadh and now he has incarnated in Braja in order to kill the sinners.”400.
ਜੋ ਉਪਮਾ ਹਰਿ ਕੀ ਕਰੀ ਗੋਪਨ ਤਉ ਪਤਿ ਗੋਪਨ ਬਾਤ ਕਹੀ ਹੈ ॥
jo upamaa har kee karee gopan tau pat gopan baat kahee hai |The way in which the gopas praised Krishna, in the same way, Nand, the Lord of gopas said,
ਜੋ ਇਹ ਕੋ ਬਲੁ ਆਇ ਕਹਿਯੋ ਗਰਗੈ ਹਮ ਸੋ ਸੋਊ ਬਾਤ ਸਹੀ ਹੈ ॥
jo ih ko bal aae kahiyo garagai ham so soaoo baat sahee hai |“The description, that you have given about the might of Krishna, is quite correct
ਪੂਤੁ ਕਹਿਯੋ ਬਸੁਦੇਵਹਿ ਕੋ ਦਿਜ ਤਾਹਿ ਮਿਲਿਯੋ ਫੁਨਿ ਮਾਨਿ ਇਹੀ ਹੈ ॥
poot kahiyo basudeveh ko dij taeh miliyo fun maan ihee hai |“Purohit (the priest) has called him the son of Vasudev and this is his good fortune
ਜੋ ਇਹ ਕੋ ਫੁਨਿ ਮਾਰਨ ਆਯੋ ਸੁ ਤਾਹੀ ਕੀ ਦੇਹ ਗਈ ਨ ਰਹੀ ਹੈ ॥੪੦੧॥
jo ih ko fun maaran aayo su taahee kee deh gee na rahee hai |401|He, who came to kill him, he himself was destroyed physically.”401.
ਅਥ ਇੰਦ੍ਰ ਆਇ ਦਰਸਨ ਕੀਆ ਅਰੁ ਬੇਨਤੀ ਕਰਤ ਭਯਾ ॥
ath indr aae darasan keea ar benatee karat bhayaa |Now begins the description of Indra’s coming to see Krishna and supplicate to him
ਸਵੈਯਾ ॥
savaiyaa |SWAYYA
ਦਿਨ ਏਕ ਗਏ ਬਨ ਕੋ ਹਰਿ ਜੀ ਮਘਵਾ ਤਜਿ ਮਾਨ ਹਰੀ ਪਹਿ ਆਯੋ ॥
din ek ge ban ko har jee maghavaa taj maan haree peh aayo |One day, when Krishna went to the forest, then casting away his pride,
ਪਾਪਨ ਕੇ ਬਖਸਾਵਨ ਕੋ ਹਰਿ ਕੇ ਤਰਿ ਪਾਇਨ ਸੀਸ ਨਿਵਾਯੋ ॥
paapan ke bakhasaavan ko har ke tar paaein sees nivaayo |Indra came to him and bowed his head at the feet of Krishna for forgiveness of his sins
ਅਉਰ ਕਰੀ ਬਿਨਤੀ ਹਰਿ ਕੀ ਅਤਿ ਹੀ ਤਿਹ ਤੋ ਭਗਵਾਨ ਰਿਝਾਯੋ ॥
aaur karee binatee har kee at hee tih to bhagavaan rijhaayo |He prayed to Krishna and pleased him by saying, “O Lord! I have erred
ਚੂਕ ਭਈ ਹਮ ਤੇ ਕਹਿਯੋ ਸਕ੍ਰ ਸੁ ਕੈ ਹਰਿ ਜੀ ਤੁਮ ਕੌ ਨਹਿ ਪਾਯੋ ॥੪੦੨॥
chook bhee ham te kahiyo sakr su kai har jee tum kau neh paayo |402|I have not been able to know Thy end.402.
ਤੂ ਜਗ ਕੋ ਕਰਤਾ ਕਰੁਨਾਨਿਧਿ ਤੂ ਸਭ ਲੋਗਨ ਕੋ ਕਰਤਾ ਹੈ ॥
too jag ko karataa karunaanidh too sabh logan ko karataa hai |“O Treasure of mercy! Thou art the Creator of the world
ਤੂ ਮੁਰ ਕੋ ਮਰੀਯਾ ਰਿਪੁ ਰਾਵਨ ਭੂਰਿਸਿਲਾ ਤ੍ਰੀਯਾ ਕੋ ਭਰਤਾ ਹੈ ॥
too mur ko mareeyaa rip raavan bhoorisilaa treeyaa ko bharataa hai |Thou art the killer of the demon Mur and also Ravana and the Saviour of the chaste Ahalya
ਤੂ ਸਭ ਦੇਵਨ ਕੋ ਪਤਿ ਹੈ ਅਰੁ ਸਾਧਨ ਕੇ ਦੁਖ ਕੋ ਹਰਤਾ ਹੈ ॥
too sabh devan ko pat hai ar saadhan ke dukh ko harataa hai |“Thou art the Lort of all gods and the remover of the sufferings of saints
ਜੋ ਤੁਮਰੀ ਕਛੁ ਭੂਲ ਕਰੈ ਤਿਹ ਕੇ ਫੁਨਿ ਤੂ ਤਨ ਕੋ ਮਰਤਾ ਹੈ ॥੪੦੩॥
jo tumaree kachh bhool karai tih ke fun too tan ko marataa hai |403|O Lord! He, who defies Thee, Thou art his destroyer.”403.
ਸੁਨਿ ਕਾਨ੍ਰਹ ਸਤਕ੍ਰਿਤ ਕੀ ਉਪਮਾ ਤਬ ਕਾਮ ਸੁ ਧੇਨ ਗਊ ਚਲਿ ਆਈ ॥
sun kaanrah satakrit kee upamaa tab kaam su dhen gaoo chal aaee |When Krishna and Indra were engaged in talk, there came Kamadhenu, the cow
ਆਇ ਕਰੀ ਉਪਮਾ ਹਰਿ ਕੀ ਬਹੁ ਭਾਤਿਨ ਸੋ ਕਬਿ ਸ੍ਯਾਮ ਬਡਾਈ ॥
aae karee upamaa har kee bahu bhaatin so kab sayaam baddaaee |The poet Shyam says that she eulogised Krishna in various ways
ਗਾਵਤ ਹੀ ਗੁਨ ਕਾਨਰ ਕੇ ਇਕ ਕਿੰਕਰ ਆਇ ਗਈ ਹਰਿ ਪਾਈ ॥
gaavat hee gun kaanar ke ik kinkar aae gee har paaee |She realised the Lord by praising Krishna
ਸ੍ਯਾਮ ਕਰੋ ਉਪਮਾ ਕਹਿਯੋ ਪਤਿ ਸੋ ਉਪਮਾ ਬਹੁ ਭਾਤਿਨ ਭਾਈ ॥੪੦੪॥
sayaam karo upamaa kahiyo pat so upamaa bahu bhaatin bhaaee |404|The poet says that her approbation allured the mind in several ways.404.
ਕਾਨਰ ਕੇ ਪਗ ਪੂਜਨ ਕੋ ਸਭ ਦੇਵਪੁਰੀ ਤਜਿ ਕੈ ਸੁਰ ਆਏ ॥
kaanar ke pag poojan ko sabh devapuree taj kai sur aae |All the gods left heaven and came there in order to bow at the feet of Krishna
ਪਾਇ ਪਰੇ ਇਕ ਪੂਜਤ ਭੇ ਇਕ ਨਾਚ ਉਠੇ ਇਕ ਮੰਗਲ ਗਾਏ ॥
paae pare ik poojat bhe ik naach utthe ik mangal gaae |Someone is touching His feet and someone is singing songs and dancing
ਸੇਵ ਕਰੈ ਹਰਿ ਕੀ ਹਿਤ ਕੈ ਕਰਿ ਆਵਤ ਕੇਸਰ ਧੂਪ ਜਗਾਏ ॥
sev karai har kee hit kai kar aavat kesar dhoop jagaae |Someone is coming for performing the service of burning saffron, incense and wick
ਦੈਤਨ ਕੋ ਬਧ ਕੈ ਭਗਵਾਨ ਮਨੋ ਜਗ ਮੈ ਸੁਰ ਫੇਰਿ ਬਸਾਏ ॥੪੦੫॥
daitan ko badh kai bhagavaan mano jag mai sur fer basaae |405|It seems that the Lord (Krishna) had made earth, the abode for gods in order to destroy the demons from the world.405.
ਦੋਹਰਾ ॥

ਦੇਵ ਸਕ੍ਰ ਆਦਿਕ ਸਭੈ ਸਭ ਤਜਿ ਕੈ ਮਨਿ ਮਾਨ ॥
dev sakr aadik sabhai sabh taj kai man maan |All the gods like Indra have left all their pride in their minds
ਹ੍ਵੈ ਇਕਤ੍ਰ ਕਰਨੈ ਲਗੇ ਕ੍ਰਿਸਨ ਉਸਤਤੀ ਬਾਨਿ ॥੪੦੬॥
hvai ikatr karanai lage krisan usatatee baan |406|The gods including Indra gathered together in order to eulogise Krishna, forgetting their pride.406.
ਕਬਿਤੁ ॥

ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਭਰੇ ਲਾਜ ਕੇ ਜਹਾਜ ਦੋਊ ਦੇਖੀਅਤ ਬਾਰਿ ਭਰੇ ਅਭ੍ਰਨ ਕੀ ਆਭਾ ਕੋ ਧਰਤ ਹੈ ॥
prem bhare laaj ke jahaaj doaoo dekheeat baar bhare abhran kee aabhaa ko dharat hai |The eyes of Krishna are like the ship of love and assume the elegance of all the ornaments
ਸੀਲ ਕੇ ਹੈ ਸਿੰਧੁ ਗੁਨ ਸਾਗਰ ਉਜਾਗਰ ਕੇ ਨਾਗਰ ਨਵਲ ਨੈਨ ਦੋਖਨ ਹਰਤ ਹੈ ॥
seel ke hai sindh gun saagar ujaagar ke naagar naval nain dokhan harat hai |They are the ocean of gentleness, sea of attributes and remover of the sufferings of people
ਸਤ੍ਰਨ ਸੰਘਾਰੀ ਇਹ ਕਾਨ੍ਰਹ ਅਵਤਾਰੀ ਜੂ ਕੇ ਸਾਧਨ ਕੋ ਦੇਹ ਦੂਖ ਦੂਰ ਕੋ ਕਰਤ ਹੈ ॥
satran sanghaaree ih kaanrah avataaree joo ke saadhan ko deh dookh door ko karat hai |The eyes of Krishna are killers of the enemies and the effacer of the sufferings of the saints
ਮਿਤ੍ਰ ਪ੍ਰਤਿਪਾਰਕ ਏ ਜਗ ਕੇ ਉਧਾਰਕ ਹੈ ਦੇਖ ਕੈ ਦੁਸਟ ਜਿਹ ਜੀਯ ਤੇ ਜਰਤ ਹੈ ॥੪੦੭॥
mitr pratipaarak e jag ke udhaarak hai dekh kai dusatt jih jeey te jarat hai |407|Krishna is the sustainer of friends and the Benevolent Saviour of the world, seeing whom, the tyrants are agonised in their hearts.407.

ਕਾਨ੍ਰਹ ਕੋ ਸੀਸ ਨਿਵਾਇ ਸਭੈ ਸੁਰ ਆਇਸੁ ਲੈ ਚਲ ਧਾਮਿ ਗਏ ਹੈ ॥
kaanrah ko sees nivaae sabhai sur aaeis lai chal dhaam ge hai |All the gods, taking permission of Krishna, bowed their heads and went back to their abodes
ਗੋਬਿੰਦ ਨਾਮ ਧਰਿਯੋ ਹਰਿ ਕੋ ਇਹ ਤੈ ਮਨ ਆਨੰਦ ਯਾਦ ਭਏ ਹੈ ॥
gobind naam dhariyo har ko ih tai man aanand yaad bhe hai |In their delight, they have named Krishna as ‘Govind’
ਰਾਤਿ ਪਰੇ ਚਲਿ ਕੈ ਭਗਵਾਨ ਸੁ ਡੇਰਨਿ ਆਪਨ ਬੀਚ ਅਏ ਹੈ ॥
raat pare chal kai bhagavaan su dderan aapan beech ae hai |When the night fell, Krishna also returned to his home
