ਕੇਤਿਕ ਮਰੇ ਮੂੰਡ ਕੀ ਪੀਰਾ ॥
ketik mare moondd kee peeraa |How many died of headache
ਕਿਤਕ ਬਾਇ ਤੇ ਭਏ ਅਧੀਰਾ ॥
kitak baae te bhe adheeraa |And many succumbed to wind disease.
ਕੇਤਿਕ ਛਈ ਰੋਗ ਛੈ ਕਿਯੋ ॥
ketik chhee rog chhai kiyo |Many were destroyed by tuberculosis (tuberculosis).
ਕੇਤਨ ਨਾਸ ਬਾਇ ਤੇ ਥਿਯੋ ॥੨੪੫॥
ketan naas baae te thiyo |245|And many perished with Vayu (disease). 245.
ਦਾੜ ਪੀੜ ਕੇਤੇ ਮਰਿ ਗਏ ॥
daarr peerr kete mar ge |Many died of toothache
ਬਾਇ ਭਏ ਬਵਰੇ ਕਈ ਭਏ ॥
baae bhe bavare kee bhe |And many became deaf due to Vayu (disease).
ਜਿਨ ਕੌ ਆਨਿ ਰੋਗ ਤਨ ਗ੍ਰਾਸਾ ॥
jin kau aan rog tan graasaa |Whose body was seized by disease,
ਤਾ ਕਾ ਪ੍ਰਾਨ ਦੇਹ ਤਜਿ ਨਾਸਾ ॥੨੪੬॥
taa kaa praan deh taj naasaa |246|His soul left the body and ran away. 246.
ਚੌਪਈ ॥
chauapee |twenty four:
ਕਹਾ ਲਗੇ ਮੈ ਬਰਨ ਸੁਨਾਊ ॥
kahaa lage mai baran sunaaoo |As far as I can describe and hear,
ਗ੍ਰੰਥ ਬਢਨ ਤੇ ਅਤਿ ਡਰਪਾਊ ॥
granth badtan te at ddarapaaoo |(Because) I am afraid of the Granth becoming large.
ਇਹ ਬਿਧਿ ਭਯੋ ਦਾਨਵਨ ਨਾਸਾ ॥
eih bidh bhayo daanavan naasaa |Thus the giants perished.
ਖੜਗਕੇਤੁ ਅਸੁ ਕਿਯਾ ਤਮਾਸਾ ॥੨੪੭॥
kharragaket as kiyaa tamaasaa |247|Kharag Ketu (Great Era) did this kind of kautaka. 247.
ਇਹ ਬਿਧਿ ਤਨ ਦਾਨਵ ਜਬ ਮਾਰੇ ॥
eih bidh tan daanav jab maare |When the demons were thus killed,
ਪੁਨਿ ਅਸਿਧੁਜ ਅਸ ਮੰਤ੍ਰ ਬਿਚਾਰੇ ॥
pun asidhuj as mantr bichaare |So Asidhuja (Maha Kala) thought like this
ਜੋ ਇਨ ਕੋ ਹ੍ਵੈ ਹੈ ਰਨ ਆਸਾ ॥
jo in ko hvai hai ran aasaa |That if they hope to fight
ਮੁਝੈ ਦਿਖੈ ਹੈ ਕਵਨ ਤਮਾਸਾ ॥੨੪੮॥
mujhai dikhai hai kavan tamaasaa |248|Only then will they show me a spectacle. 248.
ਤਿਨ ਕਹ ਦੀਨ ਐਸ ਬਰਦਾਨਾ ॥
tin kah deen aais baradaanaa |Then (the great age) gave them a boon like this
ਤੁਮਤੇ ਹੋਹਿ ਅਵਖਧੀ ਨਾਨਾ ॥
tumate hohi avakhadhee naanaa |That many kinds of herbs will be produced from you.
ਜਿਹ ਕੇ ਤਨ ਕੌ ਰੋਗ ਸੰਤਾਵੈ ॥
jih ke tan kau rog santaavai |whose body will be afflicted by disease,
ਤਾਹਿ ਅਵਖਧੀ ਬੇਗ ਜਿਯਾਵੈ ॥੨੪੯॥
taeh avakhadhee beg jiyaavai |249|The medicine will revive him immediately. 249.
ਇਹ ਬਿਧਿ ਦਯੋ ਜਬੈ ਬਰਦਾਨਾ ॥
eih bidh dayo jabai baradaanaa |When (the great age) bestowed such a boon,
ਮਿਰਤਕ ਹੁਤੇ ਅਸੁਰ ਜੇ ਨਾਨਾ ॥
miratak hute asur je naanaa |So from many dead giants
ਤਿਨ ਤੇ ਅਧਿਕ ਅਵਖਧੀ ਨਿਕਸੀ ॥
tin te adhik avakhadhee nikasee |A lot of herbs came out.
ਅਪਨੇ ਸਕਲ ਗੁਨਨ ਕਹ ਬਿਗਸੀ ॥੨੫੦॥
apane sakal gunan kah bigasee |250|They were developed (rich) with all their meritorious elements. 250.
ਜਾ ਕੇ ਦੇਹ ਪਿਤ੍ਰਯ ਦੁਖ ਦੇਈ ॥
jaa ke deh pitray dukh deee |Whose (giant's) body was tormented by bile,
ਸੋ ਭਖਿ ਜਰੀ ਬਾਤ ਕੀ ਲੇਈ ॥
so bhakh jaree baat kee leee |He used to eat vata herb.
ਜਿਹ ਦਾਨਵ ਕੌ ਬਾਇ ਸੰਤਾਵੈ ॥
jih daanav kau baae santaavai |The giant who was tormented by the wind,
ਸੋ ਲੈ ਜਰੀ ਪਿਤ੍ਰਯ ਕੀ ਖਾਵੈ ॥੨੫੧॥
so lai jaree pitray kee khaavai |251|He used to eat pita (wind) herb. 251.
ਜਾ ਕੀ ਦੇਹਿਹ ਕਫ ਦੁਖ ਲ੍ਯਾਵੈ ॥
jaa kee dehih kaf dukh layaavai |In whose body phlegm used to bring pain,
ਸੋ ਲੈ ਕਫਨਾਸਨੀ ਚਬਾਵੈ ॥
so lai kafanaasanee chabaavai |He used to chew 'kafnasani' weed.
ਇਹ ਬਿਧਿ ਅਸੁਰ ਭਏ ਬਿਨੁ ਰੋਗਾ ॥
eih bidh asur bhe bin rogaa |In this way the giants were freed from diseases.
ਮਾਡਤ ਭਏ ਜੁਧ ਤਜਿ ਸੋਗਾ ॥੨੫੨॥
maaddat bhe judh taj sogaa |252|(They) gave up grief and started war. 252.
ਅਗਨਿ ਅਸਤ੍ਰ ਛਾਡਾ ਤਬ ਦਾਨਵ ॥
agan asatr chhaaddaa tab daanav |Then the giants released fire arrows,
ਜਾ ਤੇ ਭਏ ਭਸਮ ਬਹੁ ਮਾਨਵ ॥
jaa te bhe bhasam bahu maanav |With which many people were consumed.
ਬਾਰੁਣਾਸਤ੍ਰ ਤਬ ਕਾਲ ਚਲਾਯੋ ॥
baarunaasatr tab kaal chalaayo |Then Kala wielded Varuna's astra
ਸਕਲ ਅਗਨਿ ਕੋ ਤੇਜ ਮਿਟਾਯੋ ॥੨੫੩॥
sakal agan ko tej mittaayo |253|(By which) the brightness of all the fire was extinguished. 253.
ਰਾਛਸ ਪਵਨ ਅਸਤ੍ਰ ਸੰਧਾਨਾ ॥
raachhas pavan asatr sandhaanaa |The giants made Pawan Astra,
ਜਾ ਤੇ ਉਡਤ ਭਏ ਗਨ ਨਾਨਾ ॥
jaa te uddat bhe gan naanaa |From which many creatures flew away.
ਭੂਧਰਾਸਤ੍ਰ ਤਬ ਕਾਲ ਪ੍ਰਹਾਰਾ ॥
bhoodharaasatr tab kaal prahaaraa |Then Kaal fired the Bhudhar (Mountain) astra
ਸਭ ਸਿਵਕਨ ਕੋ ਪ੍ਰਾਨ ਉਬਾਰਾ ॥੨੫੪॥
sabh sivakan ko praan ubaaraa |254|And saved the lives of all the servants. 254.
ਮੇਘ ਅਸਤ੍ਰ ਛੋਰਾ ਪੁਨਿ ਦਾਨਵ ॥
megh asatr chhoraa pun daanav |Then the demons released Megh Astra
ਭੀਜ ਗਏ ਜਿਹ ਤੇ ਸਭ ਮਾਨਵ ॥
bheej ge jih te sabh maanav |With which all men fled.
ਬਾਇ ਅਸਤ੍ਰ ਲੈ ਕਾਲ ਚਲਾਯੋ ॥
baae asatr lai kaal chalaayo |Then Kaal fired the air weapon
ਸਭ ਮੇਘਨ ਤਤਕਾਲ ਉਡਾਯੋ ॥੨੫੫॥
sabh meghan tatakaal uddaayo |255|(By which) all the alternatives were blown away. 255.
ਰਾਛਸਾਸਤ੍ਰ ਰਾਛਸਹਿ ਚਲਾਯੋ ॥
raachhasaasatr raachhaseh chalaayo |The demons (then) fired the Rakshas (monstrous) weapon.
ਬਹੁ ਅਸੁਰਨ ਤਾ ਤੇ ਉਪਜਾਯੋ ॥
bahu asuran taa te upajaayo |Many giants were born from him.
ਦੇਵਤਾਸਤ੍ਰ ਛੋਰਾ ਤਬ ਕਾਲਾ ॥
devataasatr chhoraa tab kaalaa |Then Kaal released the god Astra,
