ਕਿ ਪਿਨਹਾ ਨ ਮਾਦ ਅਸਤ ਆਮਦ ਬਰੂੰ ॥੫੪॥
ki pinahaa na maad asat aamad baroon |54|Could not remain hidden and, in due course, were revealed.(54)
ਬ ਸ਼ਹਰ ਅੰਦਰੂੰ ਗਸ਼ਤ ਸ਼ੁਹਰਤ ਪਜ਼ੀਰ ॥
b shahar andaroon gashat shuharat pazeer |The news spread in the city like a wild fire,
ਕਿ ਆਜ਼ਾਦਹੇ ਸ਼ਾਹੁ ਵ ਦੁਖ਼ਤਰ ਵਜ਼ੀਰ ॥੫੫॥
ki aazaadahe shaahu v dukhatar vazeer |55|That the son of the king and the daughter of the minister are openly in love.(55)
ਸ਼ੁਨੀਦ ਈਂ ਸੁਖ਼ਨ ਸ਼ਹਿ ਦੁ ਕਿਸ਼ਤੀ ਬੁਖਾਦ ॥
shuneed een sukhan sheh du kishatee bukhaad |When the King heard this news, he asked for two boats.
ਜੁਦਾ ਬਰ ਜੁਦਾ ਹਰ ਦੁ ਕਿਸ਼ਤੀ ਨਿਸ਼ਾਦ ॥੫੬॥
judaa bar judaa har du kishatee nishaad |56|He put them both in separate ferries.(56)
ਰਵਾ ਕਰਦ ਓ ਰਾ ਬ ਦਰੀਯਾ ਅਜ਼ੀਮ ॥
ravaa karad o raa b dareeyaa azeem |He let loose both of them in the deep river,
ਦੁ ਕਿਸ਼ਤੀ ਯਕੇ ਸ਼ੁਦ ਹਮਹ ਮੌਜ ਬੀਮ ॥੫੭॥
du kishatee yake shud hamah mauaj beem |57|But through the waves both the vessels joined together.(57)
ਦੁ ਕਿਸ਼ਤੀ ਯਕੇ ਗਸ਼ਤ ਬ ਹੁਕਮੇ ਅਲਾਹ ॥
du kishatee yake gashat b hukame alaah |By the grace of God, both were reunited,
ਬ ਯਕ ਜਾ ਦਰਾਮਦ ਹੁਮਾ ਸ਼ਮਸ਼ ਮਾਹ ॥੫੮॥
b yak jaa daraamad humaa shamash maah |58|And both, like the sun and the moon, were amalgamated.(58)
ਬੁਬੀਂ ਕੁਦਰਤੇ ਕਿਰਦਗਾਰੇ ਅਲਾਹ ॥
bubeen kudarate kiradagaare alaah |Look at the creation of Allah, the God Almighty,
ਦੁ ਤਨ ਰਾ ਯਕੇ ਕਰਦ ਅਜ਼ ਹੁਕਮ ਸ਼ਾਹਿ ॥੫੯॥
du tan raa yake karad az hukam shaeh |59|Through His order He merges the two bodies into one.(59)
ਦੁ ਕਿਸ਼ਤੀ ਦਰਾਮਦ ਬ ਯਕ ਜਾ ਦੁ ਤਨ ॥
du kishatee daraamad b yak jaa du tan |United into one from two boats were two bodies,
ਚਰਾਗ਼ੇ ਜਹਾ ਆਫ਼ਤਾਬੇ ਯਮਨ ॥੬੦॥
charaage jahaa aafataabe yaman |60|Of which one was light of Arabia and the other the moon of Yaman.(60)
ਬਿ ਰਫ਼ਤੰਦ ਕਿਸ਼ਤੀ ਬ ਦਰੀਯਾਇ ਗਾਰ ॥
bi rafatand kishatee b dareeyaae gaar |The boats had floated and entered into the deep waters.
ਬ ਮੌਜ ਅੰਦਰ ਆਮਦ ਚੁ ਬਰਗੇ ਬਹਾਰ ॥੬੧॥
b mauaj andar aamad chu barage bahaar |61|And in the water they came floating like the spring leaves.(61)
ਯਕੇ ਅਜ਼ਦਹਾ ਬੂਦ ਆਂ ਜਾ ਨਿਸ਼ਸਤ ॥
yake azadahaa bood aan jaa nishasat |There, sat a huge snake,
ਬ ਖ਼ੁਰਦਨ ਦਰਾਮਦ ਵਜ਼ਾ ਕਰਦ ਜਸਤ ॥੬੨॥
b khuradan daraamad vazaa karad jasat |62|Which pounced forward to eat them.(62)
ਦਿਗ਼ਰ ਪੇਸ਼ ਤਰ ਬੂਦ ਕਹਰੇ ਬਲਾ ॥
digar pesh tar bood kahare balaa |From the other end appeared a ghost,
ਦੁ ਦਸਤਸ਼ ਸਤੂੰ ਕਰਦ ਬੇ ਸਰ ਨੁਮਾ ॥੬੩॥
du dasatash satoon karad be sar numaa |63|Who raised her hands, which looked like headless pillars.(63)
ਮਿਯਾ ਰਫ਼ਤ ਸ਼ੁਦ ਕਿਸ਼ਤੀਏ ਹਰ ਦੁ ਦਸਤ ॥
miyaa rafat shud kishatee har du dasat |The boat slipped through under the protection of the hands,
ਬਨੇਸ੍ਵੇ ਦਮਾਨਦ ਅਜ਼ੋ ਮਾਰ ਮਸਤ ॥੬੪॥
banesve damaanad azo maar masat |64|And they both escaped the hidden intention of the snake,(64)
ਗਰਿਫ਼ਤੰਦ ਓ ਰਾ ਬਦਸਤ ਅੰਦਰੂੰ ॥
garifatand o raa badasat andaroon |Which (the snake) had intended to catch them to suck (them).
ਬ ਬਖ਼ਸ਼ੀਦ ਓ ਰਾ ਨ ਖ਼ੁਰਦੰਦ ਖ਼ੂੰ ॥੬੫॥
b bakhasheed o raa na khuradand khoon |65|But the All Benevolent saved their blood.(65)
ਚੁਨਾ ਜੰਗ ਸ਼ੁਦ ਅਜ਼ਦਹਾ ਬਾ ਬਲਾ ॥
chunaa jang shud azadahaa baa balaa |A war between snake and ghost was imminent,
ਕਿ ਬੇਰੂੰ ਨਿਆਮਦ ਬ ਹੁਕਮੇ ਖ਼ੁਦਾ ॥੬੬॥
ki beroon niaamad b hukame khudaa |66|But, by God’s grace, it did not occur.(66)
ਚੁਨਾ ਮੌਜ ਖ਼ੇਜ਼ਦ ਜਿ ਦਰੀਯਾ ਅਜ਼ੀਮ ॥
chunaa mauaj khezad ji dareeyaa azeem |High waves sprung from the great river,
ਕਿ ਦੀਗਰ ਨ ਦਾਨਿਸਤ ਜੁਜ਼ ਯਕ ਕਰੀਮ ॥੬੭॥
ki deegar na daanisat juz yak kareem |67|And this secret, except God, no body could acquiesce.(67)
ਰਵਾ ਗਸ਼ਤ ਕਿਸ਼ਤੀ ਬ ਮੌਜੇ ਬਲਾ ॥
ravaa gashat kishatee b mauaje balaa |The rowing boat was struck with the high waves,
ਬਰਾਹੇ ਖ਼ਲਾਸੀ ਜ਼ਿ ਰਹਮਤ ਖ਼ੁਦਾ ॥੬੮॥
baraahe khalaasee zi rahamat khudaa |68|And the incumbents prayed for escape.(68)
ਬ ਆਖ਼ਰ ਹਮ ਅਜ਼ ਹੁਕਮ ਪਰਵਰਦਿਗਾਰ ॥
b aakhar ham az hukam paravaradigaar |At the end with the will of God, the Almighty,
ਕਿ ਕਿਸ਼ਤੀ ਬਰ ਆਮਦ ਜ਼ਿ ਦਰੀਯਾ ਕਿਨਾਰ ॥੬੯॥
ki kishatee bar aamad zi dareeyaa kinaar |69|The boat reached the safety of the bank.(69)
ਕਿ ਬੇਰੂੰ ਬਰਾਮਦ ਅਜ਼ਾ ਹਰ ਦੁ ਤਨ ॥
ki beroon baraamad azaa har du tan |
ਨਿਸ਼ਸਤਹ ਲਬੇ ਆਬ ਦਰੀਯਾ ਯਮਨ ॥੭੦॥
nishasatah labe aab dareeyaa yaman |70|
ਬਰਾਮਦ ਯਕੇ ਸ਼ੇਰ ਦੀਦਨ ਸ਼ਿਤਾਬ ॥
baraamad yake sher deedan shitaab |Both of them came out of the boat,
ਬ ਖ਼ੁਰਦਨ ਅਜ਼ਾ ਹਰ ਦੁ ਤਨ ਰਾ ਕਬਾਬ ॥੭੧॥
b khuradan azaa har du tan raa kabaab |71|And sat down on the banks of the river.(71)
ਜ਼ਿ ਦਰੀਯਾ ਬਰ ਆਮਦ ਜ਼ਿ ਮਗਰੇ ਅਜ਼ੀਮ ॥
zi dareeyaa bar aamad zi magare azeem |Suddenly an alligator jumped out,
ਖ਼ੁਰਮ ਹਰ ਦੁ ਤਨ ਰਾ ਬ ਹੁਕਮੇ ਕਰੀਮ ॥੭੨॥
khuram har du tan raa b hukame kareem |72|To eat them both as if it was God’s will.(72)
ਬਜਾਇਸ਼ ਦਰਾਮਦ ਜ਼ਿ ਸ਼ੇਰੇ ਸ਼ਿਤਾਬ ॥
bajaaeish daraamad zi shere shitaab |Suddenly a lion appeared and it jumped ahead,
ਗਜ਼ੰਦਸ਼ ਹਮੀ ਬੁਰਦ ਬਰ ਰੋਦ ਆਬ ॥੭੩॥
gazandash hamee burad bar rod aab |73|It lunged over the water of the stream.(73)
ਬ ਪੇਚੀਦ ਸਰ ਓ ਖ਼ਤਾ ਗਸ਼ਤ ਸ਼ੇਰ ॥
b pecheed sar o khataa gashat sher |They turned their heads, lion’s attack was deflected,
ਬ ਦਹਨੇ ਦਿਗ਼ਰ ਦੁਸ਼ਮਨ ਅਫ਼ਤਦ ਦਲੇਰ ॥੭੪॥
b dahane digar dushaman afatad daler |74|And its futile bravery put (lion) in other’s (alligator’s) mouth.(74)
ਬ ਗੀਰਦ ਮਗਰ ਦਸਤ ਸ਼ੇਰੋ ਸ਼ਿਤਾਬ ॥
b geerad magar dasat shero shitaab |The alligator caught half of lion with its paw,
ਬ ਬੁਰਦੰਦ ਓ ਰਾ ਕਸ਼ੀਦਹ ਦਰ ਆਬ ॥੭੫॥
b buradand o raa kasheedah dar aab |75|And dragged him into the deep water.(75)
ਬੁਬੀਂ ਕੁਦਰਤੇ ਕਿਰਦਗਾਰੇ ਜਹਾ ॥
bubeen kudarate kiradagaare jahaa |Look at the creations of the Creator of the Universe,
ਕਿ ਈਂ ਰਾ ਬ ਬਖ਼ਸ਼ੀਦ ਕੁਸਤਸ਼ ਅਜ਼ਾ ॥੭੬॥
ki een raa b bakhasheed kusatash azaa |76|(He) endowed them life and annihilated the lion.(76)
ਬਿ ਰਫ਼ਤੰਦ ਹਰਦੋ ਬ ਹੁਕਮੇ ਅਮੀਰ ॥
bi rafatand harado b hukame ameer |Both embarked to act according the will of God,
ਯਕੇ ਸ਼ਾਹਜ਼ਾਦਹ ਬ ਦੁਖ਼ਤਰ ਵਜ਼ੀਰ ॥੭੭॥
yake shaahazaadah b dukhatar vazeer |77|One was King’s son and the other Minister’s daughter.(77)
ਬਿ ਅਫ਼ਤਾਦ ਹਰ ਦੋ ਬ ਦਸਤੇ ਅਜ਼ੀਮ ॥
bi afataad har do b dasate azeem |They both occupied a derelict place to relax,
