ਜਿਸ ਹਾਥਨ ਲੈ ਪੜੇ ਪ੍ਯਾਰੀ ॥੧੭॥
jis haathan lai parre payaaree |17|Which should be taken in the hands of the beloved and read. 17.
ਤੈ ਜਿਹ ਹਾਥ ਨਾਭਿ ਕਹ ਲਾਯੋ ॥
tai jih haath naabh kah laayo |(Wrote in the letter) whose navel you touched
ਔਰ ਦੁਹੂੰ ਪਦ ਹਾਥ ਛੁਹਾਯੋ ॥
aauar duhoon pad haath chhuhaayo |And had touched hands with both feet.
ਤੇ ਜਨ ਆਜੁ ਨਗਰ ਮਹਿ ਆਏ ॥
te jan aaj nagar meh aae |That person has come to the city
ਤੁਮ ਸੌ ਚਾਹਤ ਨੈਨ ਮਿਲਾਏ ॥੧੮॥
tum sau chaahat nain milaae |18|And wants to meet with you. 18.
ਰਾਜ ਸੁਤਾ ਪਤਿਯਾ ਜਬ ਚੀਨੀ ॥
raaj sutaa patiyaa jab cheenee |When Raj Kumari saw the letter,
ਛੋਰਿ ਲਈ ਕਰ ਕਿਸੂ ਨ ਦੀਨੀ ॥
chhor lee kar kisoo na deenee |(than the necklace) opened and did not give into anyone's hands.
ਬਹੁ ਧਨ ਦੈ ਮਾਲਿਨੀ ਬੁਲਾਈ ॥
bahu dhan dai maalinee bulaaee |(He) invited Malan with a lot of money
ਲਿਖਿ ਪਤ੍ਰੀ ਫਿਰਿ ਤਿਨੈ ਪਠਾਈ ॥੧੯॥
likh patree fir tinai patthaaee |19|And then (himself) wrote a letter and sent it to him. 19.
ਸਿਵ ਕੌ ਦਿਪਤ ਦੇਹਰੋ ਜਹਾ ॥
siv kau dipat deharo jahaa |(indicated in the letter) where the temple of Shiva is adorned,
ਮੈ ਐਹੋ ਆਧੀ ਨਿਸਿ ਤਹਾ ॥
mai aaiho aadhee nis tahaa |I will be there at midnight.
ਕੁਅਰ ਤਹਾ ਤੁਮਹੂੰ ਚਲਿ ਐਯਹੁ ॥
kuar tahaa tumahoon chal aaiyahu |O virgin! You go there and come
ਮਨ ਭਾਵਤ ਕੋ ਭੋਗ ਕਮੈਯਹੁ ॥੨੦॥
man bhaavat ko bhog kamaiyahu |20|And enjoy with me to your heart's content. 20.
ਕੁਅਰ ਨਿਸਾ ਆਧੀ ਤਹ ਜਾਈ ॥
kuar nisaa aadhee tah jaaee |Kumar reached there at midnight.
ਰਾਜ ਸੁਤਾ ਆਗੇ ਤਹ ਆਈ ॥
raaj sutaa aage tah aaee |Raj Kumari already came there.
ਕਾਮ ਭੋਗ ਕੀ ਜੇਤਿਕ ਪ੍ਯਾਸਾ ॥
kaam bhog kee jetik payaasaa |(In them) there was such a thirst for pleasure,
ਪੂਰਨਿ ਭਈ ਦੁਹੂੰ ਕੀ ਆਸਾ ॥੨੧॥
pooran bhee duhoon kee aasaa |21|(On meeting) both of them extinguished (meaning the desire was fulfilled). 21.
ਮਾਲਿਨਿ ਕੀ ਦੁਹਿਤਾ ਕਹਿ ਬਾਮਾ ॥
maalin kee duhitaa keh baamaa |Calling (her) Malan's daughter
ਰਾਜ ਕੁਅਰ ਕਹ ਲ੍ਯਾਈ ਧਾਮਾ ॥
raaj kuar kah layaaee dhaamaa |Raj Kumari brought Raj Kumar to her home.
ਰਾਤਿ ਦਿਵਸ ਦੋਊ ਕਰਤ ਬਿਲਾਸਾ ॥
raat divas doaoo karat bilaasaa |By forgetting the fear of the king
ਭੂਪਤਿ ਕੀ ਤਜਿ ਕਰਿ ਕਰਿ ਤ੍ਰਾਸਾ ॥੨੨॥
bhoopat kee taj kar kar traasaa |22|Day and night, both used to indulge. 22.
ਕਿਤਕ ਦਿਨਨ ਤਾ ਕੋ ਪਤਿ ਆਯੋ ॥
kitak dinan taa ko pat aayo |After many days her husband came.
ਅਤਿ ਕੁਰੂਪ ਨਹਿ ਜਾਤ ਬਤਾਯੋ ॥
at kuroop neh jaat bataayo |He was very ugly, (which) cannot be described.
ਸੂਕਰ ਕੇ ਸੇ ਦਾਤਿ ਬਿਰਾਜੈ ॥
sookar ke se daat biraajai |(His) teeth were like those of a pig
ਨਿਰਖਤ ਕਰੀ ਰਦਨ ਦ੍ਵੈ ਭਾਜੈ ॥੨੩॥
nirakhat karee radan dvai bhaajai |23|On seeing whom both the teeth of an elephant would fly away (they felt contempt). 23.
ਰਾਜ ਕੁਅਰ ਤ੍ਰਿਯ ਭੇਸ ਸੁ ਧਾਰੇ ॥
raaj kuar triy bhes su dhaare |Raj Kumar was disguised as a woman.
ਆਵਤ ਭਯੋ ਤਿਹ ਨਿਕਟ ਸਵਾਰੇ ॥
aavat bhayo tih nikatt savaare |(Raj Kumari's husband) came to her in the morning ('Saware').
ਰਾਜ ਸੁਤਾ ਪਹਿ ਨਿਰਖਿ ਲੁਭਾਯੋ ॥
raaj sutaa peh nirakh lubhaayo |Seeing that Raj Kumari (female Raj Kumar) became enamored.
ਭੋਗ ਕਰਨ ਹਿਤ ਹਾਥ ਚਲਾਯੋ ॥੨੪॥
bhog karan hit haath chalaayo |24|He extended his hand to join (him). 24.
ਰਾਜ ਕੁਅਰ ਤਬ ਛੁਰੀ ਸੰਭਾਰੀ ॥
raaj kuar tab chhuree sanbhaaree |Raj Kumar then took the knife
ਨਾਕ ਕਾਟਿ ਨ੍ਰਿਪ ਸੁਤ ਕੀ ਡਾਰੀ ॥
naak kaatt nrip sut kee ddaaree |and cut off the nose of the king's son.
ਨਾਕ ਕਟੈ ਜੜ ਅਧਿਕ ਖਿਸਾਯੋ ॥
naak kattai jarr adhik khisaayo |The fool was very upset because his nose was cut off
ਸਦਨ ਛਾਡਿ ਕਾਨਨਹਿ ਸਿਧਾਯੋ ॥੨੫॥
sadan chhaadd kaananeh sidhaayo |25|And left the house and went to the forest. 25.
ਨਾਕ ਕਟਾਇ ਜਬੈ ਜੜ ਗਯੋ ॥
naak kattaae jabai jarr gayo |When that fool went away with his nose cut off
ਇਨ ਪਥ ਸਿਵ ਦੇਵਲ ਕੋ ਲਯੋ ॥
ein path siv deval ko layo |So they took the way to the Shiva temple.
ਨ੍ਰਿਪ ਸੁਤ ਮ੍ਰਿਗਿਕ ਹਿਤੂ ਹਨਿ ਲ੍ਯਾਯੋ ॥
nrip sut mrigik hitoo han layaayo |Raj Kumar killed a deer and brought it.
ਦੁਹੂੰਅਨ ਬੈਠਿ ਤਿਹੀ ਠਾ ਖਾਯੋ ॥੨੬॥
duhoonan baitth tihee tthaa khaayo |26|Both of them ate (him) sitting in the same place. 26.
ਤਹੀ ਬੈਠਿ ਦੁਹੂੰ ਕਰੇ ਬਿਲਾਸਾ ॥
tahee baitth duhoon kare bilaasaa |Sitting there, both of them had sex.
ਤ੍ਰਿਯਹਿ ਨ ਰਹੀ ਭੋਗ ਕੀ ਆਸਾ ॥
triyeh na rahee bhog kee aasaa |There was no desire left for woman's pleasure.
ਲੈ ਤਾ ਕੇ ਸੰਗ ਦੇਸ ਸਿਧਾਯੋ ॥
lai taa ke sang des sidhaayo |(Raj Kumar) went to the country with him
ਇਕ ਸਹਚਰਿ ਕਹ ਤਹਾ ਪਠਾਯੋ ॥੨੭॥
eik sahachar kah tahaa patthaayo |27|And sent a friend to that place. 27.
ਡਿਵਢੀ ਸਾਤ ਸਖੀ ਤਿਨ ਨਾਖੀ ॥
ddivadtee saat sakhee tin naakhee |That sakhi crossed seven days
ਇਮਿ ਬਤੀਆ ਭੂਪਤਿ ਸੰਗ ਭਾਖੀ ॥
eim bateea bhoopat sang bhaakhee |And thus went to the king,
ਪਤਿ ਤ੍ਰਿਯ ਗਏ ਦੋਊ ਨਿਸਿ ਕਹ ਤਹ ॥
pat triy ge doaoo nis kah tah |Both your daughter and her husband went there at night
ਆਗੇ ਹੁਤੇ ਸਦਾ ਸਿਵ ਜੂ ਜਹ ॥੨੮॥
aage hute sadaa siv joo jah |28|Where there was always Shiva's (temple). 28.
ਦੁਹੂੰ ਜਾਇ ਤਹ ਕੀਏ ਪ੍ਰਯੋਗਾ ॥
duhoon jaae tah kee prayogaa |Both of them went there (in the temple) and tried to make the mantra come true.
ਤੀਸਰ ਕੋਈ ਨ ਜਾਨਤ ਲੋਗਾ ॥
teesar koee na jaanat logaa |No other third person knows it.
ਉਲਟਿ ਪਰਾ ਸਿਵ ਜੂ ਰਿਸਿ ਭਰਿਯੌ ॥
aulatt paraa siv joo ris bhariyau |(That attempt at mantra siddhi) backfired and Shiva was filled with anger
ਭਸਮੀ ਭੂਤ ਦੁਹੂੰ ਕਹ ਕਰਿਯੌ ॥੨੯॥
bhasamee bhoot duhoon kah kariyau |29|And consumed them both. 29.
ਵਹੈ ਭਸਮ ਲੈ ਤਿਨੈ ਦਿਖਾਈ ॥
vahai bhasam lai tinai dikhaaee |The same ashes were shown to him (the king).
ਮ੍ਰਿਗ ਭਛਨ ਤਿਹ ਤਿਨੈ ਜਗਾਈ ॥
mrig bhachhan tih tinai jagaaee |which they had grown while eating the deer.
ਭਸਮ ਲਹੇ ਸਭ ਹੀ ਜਿਯ ਜਾਨਾ ॥
bhasam lahe sabh hee jiy jaanaa |Seeing the ashes, everyone knew (that they were burnt).
ਲੈ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਮ ਘਰ ਨਾਰਿ ਸਿਧਾਨਾ ॥੩੦॥
lai preetam ghar naar sidhaanaa |30|(There) Pretam went home with his wife. 30.
ਇਤਿ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਚਰਿਤ੍ਰ ਪਖ੍ਯਾਨੇ ਤ੍ਰਿਯਾ ਚਰਿਤ੍ਰੇ ਮੰਤ੍ਰੀ ਭੂਪ ਸੰਬਾਦੇ ਤੀਨ ਸੌ ਛਿਆਸਠ ਚਰਿਤ੍ਰ ਸਮਾਪਤਮ ਸਤੁ ਸੁਭਮ ਸਤੁ ॥੩੬੬॥੬੬੬੩॥ਅਫਜੂੰ॥

andhaavatee nagar ik sohai |There used to be a town called Andhavati.
ਸੈਨ ਬਿਦਾਦ ਭੂਪ ਤਿਹ ਕੋ ਹੈ ॥
sain bidaad bhoop tih ko hai |The king there was Bidad San.
ਮੂਰਖਿ ਮਤਿ ਤਾ ਕੀ ਬਰ ਨਾਰੀ ॥
moorakh mat taa kee bar naaree |His queen's name was Moka Mati.
ਜਿਹਸੀ ਮੂੜ ਨ ਕਹੂੰ ਨਿਹਾਰੀ ॥੧॥
jihasee moorr na kahoon nihaaree |1|No one had seen a fool like him. 1.
ਪ੍ਰਜਾ ਲੋਗ ਅਤਿ ਹੀ ਅਕੁਲਾਏ ॥
prajaa log at hee akulaae |The people of Praja are very worried
ਦੇਸ ਛੋਡਿ ਪਰਦੇਸ ਸਿਧਾਏ ॥
des chhodd parades sidhaae |They left the country and went abroad.
ਔਰ ਭੂਪ ਪਹਿ ਕਰੀ ਪੁਕਾਰਾ ॥
aauar bhoop peh karee pukaaraa |Others called out to the king
ਨ੍ਯਾਇ ਕਰਤ ਤੈਂ ਨਹੀ ਹਮਾਰਾ ॥੨॥
nayaae karat tain nahee hamaaraa |2|That you are not judging us. 2.
ਤਾ ਤੇ ਤੁਮ ਕੁਛ ਕਰਹੁ ਉਪਾਇ ॥
taa te tum kuchh karahu upaae |So you do something
ਜਾ ਤੇ ਦੇਸ ਬਸੈ ਫਿਰਿ ਆਇ ॥
jaa te des basai fir aae |Who then came and settled in the country.
ਚਾਰਿ ਨਾਰਿ ਤਬ ਕਹਿਯੋ ਪੁਕਾਰਿ ॥
chaar naar tab kahiyo pukaar |Then four women called out and said
ਹਮ ਐਹੈ ਜੜ ਨ੍ਰਿਪਹਿ ਸੰਘਾਰਿ ॥੩॥
ham aaihai jarr nripeh sanghaar |3|That we will kill the stupid king. 3.
ਦ੍ਵੈ ਤ੍ਰਿਯ ਭੇਸ ਪੁਰਖ ਕੇ ਧਾਰੀ ॥
dvai triy bhes purakh ke dhaaree |Two women disguised as men
ਪੈਠਿ ਗਈ ਤਿਹ ਨਗਰ ਮੰਝਾਰੀ ॥
paitth gee tih nagar manjhaaree |And went to the city and stopped.
ਦ੍ਵੈ ਤ੍ਰਿਯ ਭੇਸ ਜੋਗ੍ਰਯ ਕੇ ਧਾਰੋ ॥
dvai triy bhes jogray ke dhaaro |Two women took the form of jogis
ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤਿ ਭੀ ਤਿਹ ਨਗਰ ਮਝਾਰੋ ॥੪॥
praapat bhee tih nagar majhaaro |4|And reached the city. 4.
ਇਕ ਤ੍ਰਿਯ ਚੋਰੀ ਕਰੀ ਬਨਾਇ ॥
