ਸਮੈ ਭਲੈ ਇਕ ਘਾਤ ਸਿਉ ਹ੍ਵੈ ਇਕਤ੍ਰ ਸਭ ਬਾਲ ॥
samai bhalai ik ghaat siau hvai ikatr sabh baal |One day at an auspicious time all the gopis gathered together
ਅੰਗ ਸਭੈ ਗਿਨਨੈ ਲਗੀ ਕਰਿ ਕੈ ਬਾਤ ਰਸਾਲ ॥੨੯੧॥
ang sabhai ginanai lagee kar kai baat rasaal |291|On one occasion, all the girls (gopis) talking together sweetly began to describe various limbs of Krishna.291.

ਕੋਊ ਕਹੈ ਹਰਿ ਕੋ ਮੁਖ ਸੁੰਦਰ ਕੋਊ ਕਹੈ ਸੁਭ ਨਾਕ ਬਨਿਯੋ ਹੈ ॥
koaoo kahai har ko mukh sundar koaoo kahai subh naak baniyo hai |Someone says that the face of Krishna is captivating someone says that the nostril of Krishna is winsome
ਕੋਊ ਕਹੈ ਕਟਿ ਕੇਹਰਿ ਸੀ ਤਨ ਕੰਚਨ ਸੋ ਰਿਝਿ ਕਾਹੂ ਗਨਿਯੋ ਹੈ ॥
koaoo kahai katt kehar see tan kanchan so rijh kaahoo ganiyo hai |Someone says with pleasure that the waist of Krishna is like a lion and some says that the body of Krishna is made of gold
ਨੈਨ ਕੁਰੰਗ ਸੇ ਕੋਊ ਗਨੈ ਜਸੁ ਤਾ ਛਬਿ ਕੋ ਕਬਿ ਸ੍ਯਾਮ ਭਨਿਯੋ ਹੈ ॥
nain kurang se koaoo ganai jas taa chhab ko kab sayaam bhaniyo hai |Koi (Krishna's) nan counts like deer. Shyam Kavi describes that beauty
ਲੋਗਨ ਮੈ ਜਿਮ ਜੀਵ ਬਨਿਯੋ ਤਿਨ ਕੇ ਤਨ ਮੈ ਤਿਮ ਕਾਨ੍ਰਹ ਮਨਿਯੋ ਹੈ ॥੨੯੨॥
logan mai jim jeev baniyo tin ke tan mai tim kaanrah maniyo hai |292|Someone gives the simile of doe for the eyes and the poet Shyam says that like the soul pervading the bodies of the human being, Krishna pervades in the minds of all the gopis.292.
ਕਾਨ੍ਰਹ ਕੋ ਪੇਖਿ ਕਲਾਨਿਧਿ ਸੌ ਮੁਖ ਰੀਝ ਰਹੀ ਸਭ ਹੀ ਬ੍ਰਿਜ ਬਾਰਾ ॥
kaanrah ko pekh kalaanidh sau mukh reejh rahee sabh hee brij baaraa |Seeing the face of Krishna like the moon, all the girls of Braja are getting pleased
ਮੋਹਿ ਰਹੇ ਭਗਵਾਨ ਉਤੇ ਇਨਹੂੰ ਦੁਰਗਾ ਬਰੁ ਚੇਟਕ ਡਾਰਾ ॥
mohi rahe bhagavaan ute inahoon duragaa bar chettak ddaaraa |On this side Krishna is allured by all the gopis and on this other side, because of the boon bestowed by Durga, gopis are feeling impatient
ਕਾਨਿ ਟਿਕੈ ਗ੍ਰਿਹ ਅਉਰ ਬਿਖੈ ਤਿਹ ਕੋ ਅਤਿ ਹੀ ਜਸੁ ਸ੍ਯਾਮ ਉਚਾਰਾ ॥
kaan ttikai grih aaur bikhai tih ko at hee jas sayaam uchaaraa |(Though) the ear rests in another house. Poet Shyam has understood that best Yash like this
ਜੀਵ ਇਕਤ੍ਰ ਰਹੈ ਤਿਨ ਕੋ ਇਮ ਟੂਟ ਗਏ ਜਿਉ ਮ੍ਰਿਨਾਲ ਕੀ ਤਾਰਾ ॥੨੯੩॥
jeev ikatr rahai tin ko im ttoott ge jiau mrinaal kee taaraa |293|In order to increase the impatient of the gopis, stays in some other house for some time, then the hearts of all the gopis cracked like the easy cracking of the chords of the tube of lotus.293.
ਨੇਹੁ ਲਗਿਯੋ ਇਨ ਕੋ ਹਰਿ ਸੌ ਅਰੁ ਨੇਹੁ ਲਗਿਯੋ ਹਰਿ ਕੋ ਇਨ ਨਾਰੇ ॥
nehu lagiyo in ko har sau ar nehu lagiyo har ko in naare |The mutual love of Krishna and gopis continued increasing
ਚੈਨ ਪਰੈ ਦੁਹ ਕੋ ਨਹਿ ਦ੍ਵੈ ਪਲ ਨ੍ਰਹਾਵਨ ਜਾਵਤ ਹੋਤ ਸਵਾਰੇ ॥
chain parai duh ko neh dvai pal nrahaavan jaavat hot savaare |Both sides are feeling restless and go to take bath several times
ਸ੍ਯਾਮ ਭਏ ਭਗਵਾਨ ਇਨੈ ਬਸਿ ਦੈਤਨ ਕੇ ਜਿਹ ਤੇ ਦਲ ਹਾਰੇ ॥
sayaam bhe bhagavaan inai bas daitan ke jih te dal haare |Krishna, who had defeated the forces of demons earlier, has now come under the control of gopis
ਖੇਲ ਦਿਖਾਵਤ ਹੈ ਜਗ ਕੌ ਦਿਨ ਥੋਰਨ ਮੈ ਅਬ ਕੰਸ ਪਛਾਰੇ ॥੨੯੪॥
khel dikhaavat hai jag kau din thoran mai ab kans pachhaare |294|Now is exhibiting his amorous play to the world and after a few days, he will overthrow Kansa.294.
ਉਤ ਜਾਗਤ ਸ੍ਯਾਮ ਇਤੈ ਗੁਪੀਆ ਕਬਿ ਸ੍ਯਾਮ ਕਹੈ ਹਿਤ ਕੈ ਸੰਗਿ ਤਾ ਕੇ ॥
aut jaagat sayaam itai gupeea kab sayaam kahai hit kai sang taa ke |Shyam poets say, There Krishna wakes up and here the gopis (awaken) who are interested in him.
ਰੀਝ ਰਹੀ ਤਿਹ ਪੈ ਸਭ ਹੀ ਪਿਖਿ ਨੈਨਨ ਸੋ ਫੁਨਿ ਕਾਨ੍ਰਹਰ ਬਾਕੇ ॥
reejh rahee tih pai sabh hee pikh nainan so fun kaanrahar baake |The poet Shyam says that on one side the gopis are keeping awake and on the other side, Krishna does not get a wink of sleep at night, they are pleased to see Krishna with their eyes
ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਛਕੀ ਨ ਪਰੈ ਇਨ ਕੋ ਕਲਿ ਕਾਮ ਬਢਿਯੋ ਅਤਿ ਹੀ ਤਨ ਵਾ ਕੇ ॥
prem chhakee na parai in ko kal kaam badtiyo at hee tan vaa ke |They are not satisfied merely with love and the lust is increasing in their bodies
ਖੇਲਹਿ ਪ੍ਰਾਤਹਿ ਕਾਲ ਭਏ ਹਮ ਨਾਹਿ ਲਖੈ ਹਮ ਕੈ ਜਨ ਗਾ ਕੇ ॥੨੯੫॥
kheleh praateh kaal bhe ham naeh lakhai ham kai jan gaa ke |295|While playing with Krishna, the day dawns and they are not conscious about it.295.
ਪ੍ਰਾਤ ਭਯੋ ਚੁਹਲਾਤ ਚਿਰੀ ਜਲਜਾਤ ਖਿਰੇ ਬਨ ਗਾਇ ਛਿਰਾਨੀ ॥
praat bhayo chuhalaat chiree jalajaat khire ban gaae chhiraanee |The day dawned and the sparrows began to chirp
ਗੋਪ ਜਗੇ ਪਤਿ ਗੋਪ ਜਗਿਯੋ ਕਬਿ ਸ੍ਯਾਮ ਜਗੀ ਅਰੁ ਗੋਪਨਿ ਰਾਨੀ ॥
gop jage pat gop jagiyo kab sayaam jagee ar gopan raanee |The cows were driven to the forest the gopas have awakened, Nand has awakened a d the mother Yashoda has also awakened
ਜਾਗ ਉਠੇ ਤਬ ਹੀ ਕਰੁਨਾਨਿਧਿ ਜਾਗਿ ਉਠਿਯੋ ਮੁਸਲੀਧਰ ਮਾਨੀ ॥
jaag utthe tab hee karunaanidh jaag utthiyo musaleedhar maanee |Krishna also awoke and Balram also awoke
ਗੋਪ ਗਏ ਉਤ ਨ੍ਰਹਾਨ ਕਰੈ ਇਤ ਕਾਨ੍ਰਹ ਚਲੇ ਗੁਪੀਆ ਨਿਜਕਾਨੀ ॥੨੯੬॥
gop ge ut nrahaan karai it kaanrah chale gupeea nijakaanee |296|On that side, the gopas went to take bath and on this side Krishna went to gopis.296.
ਬਾਤ ਕਹੈ ਰਸ ਕੀ ਹਸ ਕੈ ਨਹਿ ਅਉਰ ਕਥਾ ਰਸ ਕੀ ਕੋਊ ਭਾਖੈ ॥
baat kahai ras kee has kai neh aaur kathaa ras kee koaoo bhaakhai |The gopis are smilingly busy in amorous talk
ਚੰਚਲ ਸ੍ਰੀਪਤਿ ਕੇ ਅਪੁਨੇ ਦ੍ਰਿਗ ਮੋਹਿ ਤਿਨੈ ਬਤੀਆ ਇਹ ਆਖੈ ॥
chanchal sreepat ke apune drig mohi tinai bateea ih aakhai |Alluring the agile Krishna with their eyes gopis say like this
ਬਾਤ ਨ ਜਾਨਤ ਹੋ ਰਸ ਕੀ ਰਸ ਜਾਨਤ ਸੋ ਨਰ ਜੋ ਰਸ ਗਾਖੈ ॥
baat na jaanat ho ras kee ras jaanat so nar jo ras gaakhai |“We do not know anything about any other, but this much is surely known to us that he, who drinks the sap, only knows the worth of sap
ਪ੍ਰੀਤਿ ਪੜੈ ਕਰਿ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਿ ਕੜੈ ਰਸ ਰੀਤਿਨ ਚੀਤ ਸੁਨੋ ਸੋਈ ਚਾਖੈ ॥੨੯੭॥
preet parrai kar preet karrai ras reetin cheet suno soee chaakhai |297|The depth in love comes only when one falls in love and one feels pleasure in talking about the essence.297.
ਗੋਪੀ ਬਾਚ ਕਾਨ੍ਰਹ ਸੋ ॥
gopee baach kaanrah so |Speech of gopis addressed to Krishna:

ਮੀਤ ਕਹੋ ਰਸ ਰੀਤਿ ਸਬੈ ਹਮ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਿ ਭਈ ਸੁਨਬੇ ਬਤੀਆ ਕੀ ॥
meet kaho ras reet sabai ham preet bhee sunabe bateea kee |“O friend! we went to listen about the essence
ਅਉਰ ਭਈ ਤੁਹਿ ਦੇਖਨਿ ਕੀ ਤੁਮ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਿ ਭਈ ਹਮਰੀ ਛਤੀਆ ਕੀ ॥
aaur bhee tuhi dekhan kee tum preet bhee hamaree chhateea kee |Make us understand the mode of realising the essence we want to see you and you love the nipples of our teats
ਰੀਝਿ ਲਗੀ ਕਹਨੇ ਮੁਖ ਤੇ ਹਸਿ ਸੁੰਦਰ ਬਾਤ ਇਸੀ ਗਤੀਆ ਕੀ ॥
reejh lagee kahane mukh te has sundar baat isee gateea kee |They are happily doing such things with a smile on their face.
ਨੇਹ ਲਗਿਯੋ ਹਰਿ ਸੋ ਭਈ ਮੋਛਨ ਹੋਤਿ ਇਤੀ ਗਤਿ ਹੈ ਸੁ ਤ੍ਰੀਆ ਕੀ ॥੨੯੮॥
neh lagiyo har so bhee mochhan hot itee gat hai su treea kee |298|The gopis talk such-like things with Krishna and such is the condition of those women that they are becoming unconscious-like in the love of Krishna.298.
ਇਤਿ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਦਸਮ ਸਕੰਧ ਬਚਿਤ੍ਰ ਨਾਟਕ ਗ੍ਰੰਥੇ ਕ੍ਰਿਸਨਾਵਤਾਰੇ ਚੀਰ ਹਰਨ ਧਿਆਇ ਸਮਾਪਤੰ ॥
eit sree dasam sakandh bachitr naattak granthe krisanaavataare cheer haran dhiaae samaapatan |End of the chapter entitled “Stealing of Clothes” in Krishna Avatara (based on Dasham Skandh) in Bachittar Natak.
ਅਥ ਬਿਪਨ ਗ੍ਰਿਹ ਗੋਪ ਪਠੈਬੋ ॥

ਕੈ ਕ੍ਰੀੜਾ ਇਨ ਸੋ ਕ੍ਰਿਸਨ ਕੈ ਜਮੁਨਾ ਇਸਨਾਨੁ ॥
kai kreerraa in so krisan kai jamunaa isanaan |By playing sports with them (gopis) and bathing in the Jamna
ਬਹੁਰ ਸ੍ਯਾਮ ਬਨ ਕੋ ਗਏ ਗਊ ਸੁ ਤ੍ਰਿਨਨ ਚਰਾਨ ॥੨੯੯॥
bahur sayaam ban ko ge gaoo su trinan charaan |299|After voluptuous play with the gopis and taking bath Krishna went to the forest to graze the cows.299.
ਕ੍ਰਿਸਨ ਸਰਾਹਤ ਤਰਨ ਕੋ ਬਨ ਮੈ ਆਗੇ ਗਏ ॥
krisan saraahat taran ko ban mai aage ge |Krishna is walking forward saluting the brichas (falling in the way),
ਸੰਗ ਗ੍ਵਾਰ ਜੇਤੇ ਹੁਤੇ ਤੇ ਸਭ ਭੂਖਿ ਭਏ ॥੩੦੦॥
sang gvaar jete hute te sabh bhookh bhe |300|Praising the beautiful women, Krishna went further and the gopa boys who were with him, became hungry.300.

ਪਤ੍ਰ ਭਲੇ ਤਿਨ ਕੇ ਸੁਭ ਫੂਲ ਭਲੇ ਫਲ ਹੈ ਸੁਭ ਸੋਭ ਸੁਹਾਈ ॥
patr bhale tin ke subh fool bhale fal hai subh sobh suhaaee |The leaves of those trees are good,
ਭੂਖ ਲਗੇ ਘਰ ਕੋ ਉਮਗੇ ਪੈ ਬਿਰਾਜਨ ਕੋ ਸੁਖਦਾ ਪਰਛਾਈ ॥
bhookh lage ghar ko umage pai biraajan ko sukhadaa parachhaaee |Their flowers, fruit and shade are all good at the time of coming home,
ਕਾਨ੍ਰਹ ਤਰੈ ਤਿਹ ਕੇ ਮੁਰਲੀ ਗਹਿ ਕੈ ਕਰ ਮੋ ਮੁਖ ਸਾਥ ਬਜਾਈ ॥
kaanrah tarai tih ke muralee geh kai kar mo mukh saath bajaaee |Krishna played on his flute under those trees
ਠਾਢਿ ਰਹਿਯੋ ਸੁਨਿ ਪਉਨ ਘਰੀ ਇਕ ਥਕਤ ਰਹੀ ਜਮੁਨਾ ਉਰਝਾਈ ॥੩੦੧॥
tthaadt rahiyo sun paun gharee ik thakat rahee jamunaa urajhaaee |301|Hearing the voice of his flute, the wind seemed to stop blowing for a while and Yamuna also got entangled.301.
ਮਾਲਸਿਰੀ ਅਰੁ ਜੈਤਸਿਰੀ ਸੁਭ ਸਾਰੰਗ ਬਾਜਤ ਹੈ ਅਰੁ ਗਉਰੀ ॥
maalasiree ar jaitasiree subh saarang baajat hai ar gauree |(Flute) Malasiri, Jayasiri, Sarang and Gowri ragas are played.
ਸੋਰਠਿ ਸੁਧ ਮਲਾਰ ਬਿਲਾਵਲ ਮੀਠੀ ਹੈ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਤੇ ਨਹ ਕਉਰੀ ॥
soratth sudh malaar bilaaval meetthee hai amrit te nah kauree |Krishna plays on his flute the musical modes like Malshri, Jaitshri, Sarang, Gauri, Sorath, Shuddh Malhar and the Bilawal which is sweet like nectar
