ਰਾਝਨ ਹੀਰ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਮੈ ਰਹੈ ਏਕ ਹੀ ਹੋਇ ॥
raajhan heer prem mai rahai ek hee hoe |The love of Ranjha and Heer became synonymous of oneness.
ਕਹਿਬੇ ਕੌ ਤਨ ਏਕ ਹੀ ਲਹਿਬੇ ਕੋ ਤਨ ਦੋਇ ॥੨੬॥
kahibe kau tan ek hee lahibe ko tan doe |26|Although they were two bodies, they were one (in soul).(26)

ਐਸੀ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਿ ਪ੍ਰਿਯਾ ਕੀ ਭਈ ॥
aaisee preet priyaa kee bhee |
ਸਿਗਰੀ ਬਿਸਰਿ ਤਾਹਿ ਸੁਧਿ ਗਈ ॥
sigaree bisar taeh sudh gee |Inbueded in love, she was totally engrossed in the passion for her sweetheart.
ਰਾਝਾ ਜੂ ਕੇ ਰੂਪ ਉਰਝਾਨੀ ॥
raajhaa joo ke roop urajhaanee |
ਲੋਕ ਲਾਜ ਤਜਿ ਭਈ ਦਿਵਾਨੀ ॥੨੭॥
lok laaj taj bhee divaanee |27|Entangled in Ranjha’s demean our she began to disregarded the normal social etiquettes.(27)
ਤਬ ਚੂਚਕ ਇਹ ਭਾਤਿ ਬਿਚਾਰੀ ॥
tab choochak ih bhaat bichaaree |
ਯਹ ਕੰਨ੍ਯਾ ਨਹਿ ਜਿਯਤ ਹਮਾਰੀ ॥
yah kanayaa neh jiyat hamaaree |(Then) Choochak (the father) thought his daughter wouldn’t survive.
ਅਬ ਹੀ ਯਹ ਖੇਰਾ ਕੋ ਦੀਜੈ ॥
ab hee yah kheraa ko deejai |
ਯਾ ਮੈ ਤਨਿਕ ਢੀਲ ਨਹਿ ਕੀਜੈ ॥੨੮॥
yaa mai tanik dteel neh keejai |28|She should immediately be endowed to Khere (in-laws) without any delay.(28)
ਖੇਰਹਿ ਬੋਲ ਤੁਰਤੁ ਤਿਹ ਦਯੋ ॥
khereh bol turat tih dayo |
ਰਾਝਾ ਅਤਿਥ ਹੋਇ ਸੰਗ ਗਯੋ ॥
raajhaa atith hoe sang gayo |Instantly, a messenger was sent and Ranjha accompanied disguised as an ascetic.
ਮਾਗਤ ਭੀਖ ਘਾਤ ਜਬ ਪਾਯੋ ॥
maagat bheekh ghaat jab paayo |
ਲੈ ਤਾ ਕੋ ਸੁਰ ਲੋਕ ਸਿਧਾਯੋ ॥੨੯॥
lai taa ko sur lok sidhaayo |29|During his begging, when he found opportunity, he took Heer and departed for the domain of death.(29)
ਰਾਝਾ ਹੀਰ ਮਿਲਤ ਜਬ ਭਏ ॥
raajhaa heer milat jab bhe |
ਚਿਤ ਕੇ ਸਕਲ ਸੋਕ ਮਿਟਿ ਗਏ ॥
chit ke sakal sok mitt ge |When Ranjha and Heer had met, they had found bliss.
ਹਿਯਾ ਕੀ ਅਵਧਿ ਬੀਤਿ ਜਬ ਗਈ ॥
hiyaa kee avadh beet jab gee |
ਬਾਟਿ ਦੁਹੂੰ ਸੁਰ ਪੁਰ ਕੀ ਲਈ ॥੩੦॥
baatt duhoon sur pur kee lee |30|All their afflictions were eliminated and they departed for the heavens.(30)

ਰਾਝਾ ਭਯੋ ਸੁਰੇਸ ਤਹ ਭਈ ਮੈਨਕਾ ਹੀਰ ॥
raajhaa bhayo sures tah bhee mainakaa heer |Ranjha turned into god Indra and Heer became Maneka,
ਯਾ ਜਗ ਮੈ ਗਾਵਤ ਸਦਾ ਸਭ ਕਬਿ ਕੁਲ ਜਸ ਧੀਰ ॥੩੧॥
yaa jag mai gaavat sadaa sabh kab kul jas dheer |31|And all the revered poets sang the songs in their praise.(31)(1)

ਪੋਠੋਹਾਰਿ ਨਾਰਿ ਇਕ ਰਹੈ ॥
potthohaar naar ik rahai |
ਰੁਦ੍ਰ ਕਲਾ ਤਾ ਕੋ ਜਗ ਕਹੈ ॥
rudr kalaa taa ko jag kahai |In the country of Puthohar, a woman used to live, who was known as Ruder Kala.
ਤਿਹ ਗ੍ਰਿਹ ਰੋਜ ਖੁਦਾਈ ਆਵੈ ॥
tih grih roj khudaaee aavai |
ਧਨ ਡਰ ਪਾਇ ਤਾਹਿ ਲੈ ਜਾਵੈ ॥੧॥
dhan ddar paae taeh lai jaavai |1|Every day some (Muslim) priests used to come to her and take her wealth away after threatening her.(1)
ਇਕ ਦਿਨ ਇਨ ਕਛੁ ਧਨੁ ਨਹਿ ਦਯੋ ॥
eik din in kachh dhan neh dayo |
ਕੋਪ ਖਦਾਇਨ ਕੇ ਮਨ ਭਯੋ ॥
kop khadaaein ke man bhayo |Once, when she had been left with no money, the Maulana priests flew into a rage.
ਸਭ ਹੀ ਹਾਥ ਕੁਰਾਨ ਉਠਾਏ ॥
sabh hee haath kuraan utthaae |
ਮਿਲਿ ਗਿਲਿ ਭਵਨ ਤਵਨ ਕੇ ਆਏ ॥੨॥
mil gil bhavan tavan ke aae |2|They got together and came to her house.(2)
ਹਾਨਤ ਕਹਿਯੋ ਨਬੀ ਕੀ ਕਰੀ ॥
haanat kahiyo nabee kee karee |
ਯਹ ਸੁਨਿ ਬਚਨ ਨਾਰਿ ਅਤਿ ਡਰੀ ॥
yah sun bachan naar at ddaree |(They said) ‘You have insulted the Prophet Mohammed,’ she was dreaded to hear this.
ਤਿਨ ਕੋ ਸਦਨ ਬੀਚ ਬੈਠਾਯੋ ॥
tin ko sadan beech baitthaayo |
ਖਾਨ ਮੁਹਬਤ ਸਾਥ ਜਤਾਯੋ ॥੩॥
khaan muhabat saath jataayo |3|She invited them and requested them to be seated and, then, sent message to Mohabat Khan (the ruler of the place).(3)
ਤਾ ਕੇ ਤੁਰਤ ਪਯਾਦੇ ਆਏ ॥
taa ke turat payaade aae |
ਇਕ ਗ੍ਰਿਹ ਮੈ ਬੈਠਾਇ ਛਿਪਾਏ ॥
eik grih mai baitthaae chhipaae |Then the Turk (Muslim) spies came and she accommodated them secretly in a room there.
ਖਾਨਾ ਭਲੋ ਤਿਨਾਗੇ ਰਾਖ੍ਯੋ ॥
khaanaa bhalo tinaage raakhayo |
ਆਪੁ ਖਦਾਇਨ ਸੋ ਯੋ ਭਾਖ੍ਯੋ ॥੪॥
aap khadaaein so yo bhaakhayo |4|They (the raiders) were already there; she had served them the dainty foods. What she said, follows:(4)
ਹਾਨਤ ਮੈ ਨ ਨਬੀ ਕੀ ਕਰੀ ॥
haanat mai na nabee kee karee |
ਮੋ ਤੌ ਕਹੋ ਚੂਕ ਕਾ ਪਰੀ ॥
mo tau kaho chook kaa paree |‘I have not insulted the prophet. Where else could I have gone wrong?
ਤਾ ਕੀ ਜੋ ਨਿੰਦਾ ਮੈ ਕਰੋ ॥
taa kee jo nindaa mai karo |
ਅਪਨੇ ਮਾਰਿ ਕਟਾਰੀ ਮਰੋ ॥੫॥
apane maar kattaaree maro |5|‘If I have insult Him, I will kill myself with a dagger.(5)
ਜੋ ਕਛੁ ਲੈਨੋ ਹੋਇ ਸੁ ਲੀਜੈ ॥
jo kachh laino hoe su leejai |
ਹਾਨਤ ਕੋ ਮੁਹਿ ਦੋਸੁ ਨ ਦੀਜੈ ॥
haanat ko muhi dos na deejai |‘Whatever you want, you take away from me but don’t accuse me for blasphemy.’
ਬਿਹਸਿ ਖੁਦਾਇਨ ਬਚਨ ਉਚਾਰਿਯੋ ॥
bihas khudaaein bachan uchaariyo |
ਧਨ ਲਾਲਚ ਹਮ ਚਰਿਤ ਸੁ ਧਾਰਿਯੋ ॥੬॥
dhan laalach ham charit su dhaariyo |6|Then they said jovially, ‘We had devised this to pillage money out of you.(6)
