Then the king called Narada Rishi to him. 1.
(He) became the king of all the gods
And Brahma himself applied tilak to him.
He freed (nihkantak) all the host of the gods (from the fear of enemies),
When (all) the giants were killed and removed. 2.
Thus he ruled for many years.
(Then) the long-bearded giant was born.
He took ten thousand untouchables
Came on him (the king) with anger. 3.
All the gods heard this
That the long giant has come up.
They also took twenty thousand untouchables
He went and confronted him. 4.
(The gods) made Surya the army-father.
The right side is given to the moon.
Kartikeya is placed on the left side
Whose strength no one has (ever) destroyed. 5.
All the gods ascended from this side.
All the giants came together from that side.
Various kinds of bells started playing.
In both the directions, the warriors started roaring. 6.
(They) played the drums and nagares while saying 'Dai Dai'
And they became drunk after drinking.
Thirty thousand untouchables in the army
God created a terrible war.7.
When the deadly bells start ringing,
(Then) the long-bearded giant thundered in the battle.
Sharp arrows were shooting from both sides.
They did not live in the one whom they visited (meaning they crossed over) ॥8॥
When the gods ascended,
(Then) even the giants were filled with rage.
Various bells were played.
Chhatri started to excite the horses for war. 9.
Countless arrows from both sides,
Scorpions, spears and thousands of thunderbolts started moving.
On which heavy maces sound,
They will crush them along with the chariots. 10.
In whose body,
Those heroes would go to heaven.
A terrible war broke out in the war-land of heroes
And ghosts, ghosts and ghosts started dancing. 11.
Somewhere swinging heroes fell on the ground
And somewhere (several) limbs were lying cut off.
The river of blood was flowing, seeing which Baitruni
(Especially: According to the Puranas, a river filled with dirt, flowing north of Yama-loka, which is two yojanas wide and which according to Hinduism has to be crossed. A donated cow helps in such cases) was also ashamed.12 ॥
On this side, the gods were very angry
And on that side the giants set foot.
With fury in their hearts,
