ਤਾਜ ਕਹੂੰ ਗਜਰਾਜ ਰਣੰ ਭਟ ਕੇਸਨ ਤੇ ਗਹਿ ਕੇਸਨ ਜੂਟੇ ॥
taaj kahoon gajaraaj ranan bhatt kesan te geh kesan jootte |

Somewhere in the battlefield crowns have fallen, (somewhere) big elephants (have fallen) and somewhere warriors are busy holding (each other's) cases.

ਪਉਨ ਸਮਾਨ ਬਹੈ ਕਲਿ ਬਾਨ ਸਬੈ ਅਰਿ ਬਾਦਲ ਸੇ ਚਲਿ ਫੂਟੇ ॥੩੮੮॥
paun samaan bahai kal baan sabai ar baadal se chal footte |388|

Somewhere neighing and somewhere the elephant were seen running, the warriors catching the hair of one another were engaged in fight with them, the arrows were being discharged like the wind and with them, the arrows were being discharged like the wind an

ਧਾਇ ਪਰੇ ਕਰਿ ਕੋਪ ਬੜੇ ਭਟ ਬਾਨ ਕਮਾਨ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾਨ ਸੰਭਾਰੇ ॥
dhaae pare kar kop barre bhatt baan kamaan kripaan sanbhaare |

The great warriors fell down in great anger (with) arrows, bows, kirpans (armours etc.).

ਪਟਿਸ ਲੋਹਹਥੀ ਪਰਸਾ ਕਰਿ ਕ੍ਰੋਧ ਚਹੂੰ ਦਿਸ ਚਉਕ ਪ੍ਰਹਾਰੇ ॥
pattis lohahathee parasaa kar krodh chahoon dis chauk prahaare |

Holding their arrows, bows and swords the great warriors fell upon (the opponents), the warriors were striking blows from all the four directions, taking their swords, axes etc. in their hands

ਕੁੰਜਰ ਪੁੰਜ ਗਿਰੇ ਰਣਿ ਮੂਰਧਨ ਸੋਭਤ ਹੈ ਅਤਿ ਡੀਲ ਡਿਲਾਰੇ ॥
kunjar punj gire ran mooradhan sobhat hai at ddeel ddilaare |

Herds and heads of elephants are lying on the battlefield and the big ones (elephants) are showing off.

ਰਾਵਣ ਰਾਮ ਸਮੈ ਰਣ ਕੇ ਗਿਰਿਰਾਜ ਨੋ ਹਨਵੰਤਿ ਉਖਾਰੇ ॥੩੮੯॥
raavan raam samai ran ke giriraaj no hanavant ukhaare |389|

There were groups of elephants fallen in the war on the side and support of their faces and they appeared like the mountains uprooted and thrown by Hanuman in the Rama-Ravana war.389.

ਚਓਪੁ ਚਰੀ ਚਤੁਰੰਗ ਚਮੂੰ ਕਰੁਣਾਲਯ ਕੇ ਪਰ ਸਿੰਧੁਰ ਪੇਲੇ ॥
chop charee chaturang chamoon karunaalay ke par sindhur pele |

Chaturangani Sena ('Chamun') has mounted with great enthusiasm, elephants have been mounted on Kalki ('Kurunalya').

ਧਾਇ ਪਰੇ ਕਰਿ ਕੋਪ ਹਠੀ ਕਰ ਕਾਟਿ ਸਬੈ ਪਗ ਦ੍ਵੈ ਨ ਪਿਛੇਲੇ ॥
dhaae pare kar kop hatthee kar kaatt sabai pag dvai na pichhele |

Taking the fourfold army, the Lord (Kalki) was attacked through elephants through the persistent warriors were chopped, but still they did not retrace their steps

ਬਾਨ ਕਮਾਨ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾਨਨ ਕੇ ਘਨ ਸ੍ਯਾਮ ਘਨੇ ਤਨਿ ਆਯੁਧ ਝੇਲੇ ॥
baan kamaan kripaanan ke ghan sayaam ghane tan aayudh jhele |

Ghanshyam (Kalki) has armor like bow, arrow and kirpan on his body.

ਸ੍ਰੋਨ ਰੰਗੇ ਰਮਣੀਅ ਰਮਾਪਤਿ ਫਾਗੁਨ ਅੰਤਿ ਬਸੰਤ ਸੇ ਖੇਲੇ ॥੩੯੦॥
sron range ramaneea ramaapat faagun ant basant se khele |390|

Enduring the blows of bows, swords and other weapons and dyed with blood, the Lord (Kalki) looked like one who had played Holi in the spring season.390.

ਘਾਇ ਸਬੈ ਸਹਿ ਕੈ ਕਮਲਾਪਤਿ ਕੋਪਿ ਭਰ੍ਯੋ ਕਰਿ ਆਯੁਧ ਲੀਨੇ ॥
ghaae sabai seh kai kamalaapat kop bharayo kar aayudh leene |

Kalki avatara ('Kamalapati') filled with anger after bearing the blows (of the enemy) has taken weapons in hand.

ਦੁਜਨ ਸੈਨ ਬਿਖੈ ਧਸਿ ਕੈ ਛਿਨ ਮੈ ਬਿਨ ਪ੍ਰਾਣ ਸਬੈ ਅਰਿ ਕੀਨੇ ॥
dujan sain bikhai dhas kai chhin mai bin praan sabai ar keene |

When wounded, the Lord was greatly enraged and he took his weapons in his hands, he penetrated into the army of the enemy and killed all of it in an instant

ਟੂਟ ਪਰੇ ਰਮਣੀ ਅਸ ਭੂਖਣ ਬੀਰ ਬਲੀ ਅਤਿ ਸੁੰਦਰ ਚੀਨੇ ॥
ttoott pare ramanee as bhookhan beer balee at sundar cheene |

Those bearing the beautiful sword form Bhushana (on the Kalki Vari) fell to pieces and the mighty warriors found them very beautiful.

ਯੌ ਉਪਮਾ ਉਪਜੀ ਮਨ ਮੈ ਰਣ ਭੂਮਿ ਕੋ ਮਾਨਹੁ ਭੂਖਨ ਦੀਨੇ ॥੩੯੧॥
yau upamaa upajee man mai ran bhoom ko maanahu bhookhan deene |391|

He fell upon the warriors and he seemed splendidly beautiful as if the had given the ornaments of wounds to all the warriors in the battlefield.391.

ਚਉਪਿ ਚੜਿਓ ਕਰਿ ਕੋਪ ਕਲੀ ਕ੍ਰਿਤ ਆਯੁਧ ਅੰਗ ਅਨੇਕਨ ਸਾਜੇ ॥
chaup charrio kar kop kalee krit aayudh ang anekan saaje |

Kalki, enraged, has ascended enthusiastically and is adorned with many armors on her body.

ਤਾਲ ਮ੍ਰਿਦੰਗ ਉਪੰਗ ਮੁਚੰਗ ਸੁ ਭਾਤਿ ਅਨੇਕ ਭਲੀ ਬਿਧਿ ਬਾਜੇ ॥
taal mridang upang muchang su bhaat anek bhalee bidh baaje |

The Lord Kalki, bedecked his limbs with weapons, and in great rage, went forward, many musical instruments including drums were played in the war-arena

ਪੂਰਿ ਫਟੀ ਛੁਟਿ ਧੂਰ ਜਟੀ ਜਟ ਦੇਵ ਅਦੇਵ ਦੋਊ ਉਠਿ ਭਾਜੇ ॥
poor fattee chhutt dhoor jattee jatt dev adev doaoo utth bhaaje |

(In the whole world) the sound is filled, Shiva's samadhi is released; Both the gods and the demons have risen and fled,

ਕੋਪ ਕਛੂ ਕਰਿ ਕੈ ਚਿਤ ਮੋ ਕਲਕੀ ਅਵਤਾਰ ਜਬੈ ਰਣਿ ਗਾਜੇ ॥੩੯੨॥
kop kachhoo kar kai chit mo kalakee avataar jabai ran gaaje |392|

Seeing that dreadful war, the matted locks of Shiva were also loosened and both the gods and demons fled away, all this happened at that time when Kalki thundered in rage in the battlefield.392.

ਬਾਜ ਹਨੇ ਗਜਰਾਜ ਹਨੇ ਨ੍ਰਿਪਰਾਜ ਹਨੇ ਰਣ ਭੂਮਿ ਗਿਰਾਏ ॥
baaj hane gajaraaj hane nriparaaj hane ran bhoom giraae |

Horses have been killed, big elephants have been slaughtered, even kings have been killed and thrown on the battlefield.

ਡੋਲਿ ਗਿਰਿਓ ਗਿਰ ਮੇਰ ਰਸਾਤਲ ਦੇਵ ਅਦੇਵ ਸਬੈ ਭਹਰਾਏ ॥
ddol girio gir mer rasaatal dev adev sabai bhaharaae |

The horses, elephants, and kings were killed in the battlefield, the Sumeru mountain trembled and thrust into the earth, the gods and demons both became fearful

ਸਾਤੋਊ ਸਿੰਧੁ ਸੁਕੀ ਸਰਤਾ ਸਬ ਲੋਕ ਅਲੋਕ ਸਬੈ ਥਹਰਾਏ ॥
saatoaoo sindh sukee sarataa sab lok alok sabai thaharaae |

All the rivers have dried up, including the seven seas; The people and the Alok (hereafter) have all trembled.

ਚਉਕ ਚਕੇ ਦ੍ਰਿਗਪਾਲ ਸਬੈ ਕਿਹ ਪੈ ਕਲਕੀ ਕਰਿ ਕੋਪ ਰਿਸਾਏ ॥੩੯੩॥
chauk chake drigapaal sabai kih pai kalakee kar kop risaae |393|

All the seven oceans and all the rivers dried up in fear all the people trembled, the guardians of all the directions were wonder-struck as to who had been attacked in anger by Kalki.393.

ਬਾਨ ਕਮਾਨ ਸੰਭਾਰਿ ਹਠੀ ਹਠ ਠਾਨਿ ਹਠੀ ਰਣਿ ਕੋਟਿਕੁ ਮਾਰੇ ॥
baan kamaan sanbhaar hatthee hatth tthaan hatthee ran kottik maare |

The stubborn warriors have stubbornly killed many enemies in the battlefield by taking care of the bow and arrow.

ਜਾਘ ਕਹੂੰ ਸਿਰ ਬਾਹ ਕਹੂੰ ਅਸਿ ਰੇਣੁ ਪ੍ਰਮਾਣ ਸਬੈ ਕਰਿ ਡਾਰੇ ॥
jaagh kahoon sir baah kahoon as ren pramaan sabai kar ddaare |

Holding his bow and arrows, Kalki, killed crores of enemies, the legs, heads and swords lay scattered at several places, the Lord (Kalki) rolled all in the dust

ਬਾਜ ਕਹੂੰ ਗਜਰਾਜ ਧੁਜਾ ਰਥ ਉਸਟ ਪਰੇ ਰਣਿ ਪੁਸਟ ਬਿਦਾਰੇ ॥
baaj kahoon gajaraaj dhujaa rath usatt pare ran pusatt bidaare |

Some horses, some big elephants and some camels, flags and chariots are lying on their backs in the field.

ਜਾਨੁਕ ਬਾਗ ਬਨਿਓ ਰਣਿ ਮੰਡਲ ਪੇਖਨ ਕਉ ਜਟਿ ਧੂਰ ਪਧਾਰੇ ॥੩੯੪॥
jaanuk baag banio ran manddal pekhan kau jatt dhoor padhaare |394|

The elephants, horses, chariots and camels were lying dead, it seemed that the battlefield had become and arrows and Shiva was looking for it, roaming hither and thither.394.

ਲਾਜ ਭਰੇ ਅਰਿਰਾਜ ਚਹੂੰ ਦਿਸ ਭਾਜਿ ਚਲੇ ਨਹੀ ਆਨਿ ਘਿਰੇ ॥
laaj bhare ariraaj chahoon dis bhaaj chale nahee aan ghire |

Enemy kings, filled with anger, have fled to all four directions and could not be surrounded.

ਗਹਿ ਬਾਨ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾਨ ਗਦਾ ਬਰਛੀ ਛਟ ਛੈਲ ਛਕੇ ਚਿਤ ਚੌਪ ਚਿਰੇ ॥
geh baan kripaan gadaa barachhee chhatt chhail chhake chit chauap chire |

The inimical kings, filled with shame ran in all the four directions and they again began to strike blows taking up their swords, maces, lances etc. with double zeal

ਪ੍ਰਤਿਮਾਨ ਸੁਜਾਨ ਅਜਾਨੁ ਭੁਜਾ ਕਰਿ ਪੈਜ ਪਰੇ ਨਹੀ ਫੇਰਿ ਫਿਰੇ ॥
pratimaan sujaan ajaan bhujaa kar paij pare nahee fer fire |

(God's) representative Sujan (Kalki) whose arms are up to the knees, (the hostile kings) have fallen upon him filled with anger and have not turned back.

ਰਣ ਮੋ ਮਰਿ ਕੈ ਜਸ ਕੋ ਕਰਿ ਕੈ ਹਰਿ ਸੋ ਲਰਿ ਕੈ ਭਵ ਸਿੰਧੁ ਤਰੇ ॥੩੯੫॥
ran mo mar kai jas ko kar kai har so lar kai bhav sindh tare |395|

He, whosoever came to fight with that most powerful Lord, did not return alive, he died while fighting with the Lord (Kalki) and earning approbation, ferried across the Ocean of fear.395.

ਰੰਗ ਸੋ ਜਾਨੁ ਸੁਰੰਗੇ ਹੈ ਸਿੰਧੁਰ ਛੂਟੀ ਹੈ ਸੀਸ ਪੈ ਸ੍ਰੋਨ ਅਲੇਲੈ ॥
rang so jaan surange hai sindhur chhoottee hai sees pai sron alelai |

The elephants are dyed in (blood) color and a continuous stream of blood flows from (their) head.

ਬਾਜ ਗਿਰੇ ਭਟ ਰਾਜ ਕਹੂੰ ਬਿਚਲੇ ਕੁਪ ਕੈ ਕਲ ਕੇ ਅਸਿ ਕੇਲੈ ॥
baaj gire bhatt raaj kahoon bichale kup kai kal ke as kelai |

With the currents of blood, having fallen on them, the elephants are seen dyed in beautiful colour, the Lord Kalki, in his fury, wrought such a havoc that somewhere the horses have fallen down and somewhere the superb warriors have been knocked down

ਚਾਚਰ ਜਾਨੁ ਕਰੈ ਬਸੁਧਾ ਪਰ ਜੂਝਿ ਗਿਰੇ ਪਗ ਦ੍ਵੈ ਨ ਪਛੇਲੈ ॥
chaachar jaan karai basudhaa par joojh gire pag dvai na pachhelai |

(The warriors are fighting so swiftly) like a vulture on the ground; They fall after fighting, but don't step back.

ਜਾਨੁਕ ਪਾਨ ਕੈ ਭੰਗ ਮਲੰਗ ਸੁ ਫਾਗੁਨ ਅੰਤਿ ਬਸੰਤ ਸੋ ਖੇਲੈ ॥੩੯੬॥
jaanuk paan kai bhang malang su faagun ant basant so khelai |396|

Though the warriors are definitely falling on the earth, but they are not retracing even two steps backwards, they all seen like the wrestlers playing Holi after drinking hemp.396.

ਜੇਤਕ ਜੀਤਿ ਬਚੇ ਸੁ ਸਬੈ ਭਟ ਚਓਪ ਚੜੇ ਚਹੁੰ ਓਰਨ ਧਾਏ ॥
jetak jeet bache su sabai bhatt chop charre chahun oran dhaae |

As many warriors as were left alive, filled with enthusiasm, they mounted again and attacked (Kalki) from all four sides.

ਬਾਨ ਕਮਾਨ ਗਦਾ ਬਰਛੀ ਅਸਿ ਕਾਢਿ ਲਏ ਕਰ ਮੋ ਚਮਕਾਏ ॥
baan kamaan gadaa barachhee as kaadt le kar mo chamakaae |

The warriors who warriors who survived, they attacked from all the four sides with greater zeal, taking their bows, arrows, maces, lances and swords in their hands, they glistened them

ਚਾਬੁਕ ਮਾਰਿ ਤੁਰੰਗ ਧਸੇ ਰਨਿ ਸਾਵਨ ਕੀ ਘਟਿ ਜਿਉ ਘਹਰਾਏ ॥
chaabuk maar turang dhase ran saavan kee ghatt jiau ghaharaae |

The horses have been flogged and plunged into the battle-ground and are spread out like sackcloth.

ਸ੍ਰੀ ਕਲਕੀ ਕਰਿ ਲੈ ਕਰਵਾਰਿ ਸੁ ਏਕ ਹਨੇ ਅਰਿ ਅਨੇਕ ਪਰਾਏ ॥੩੯੭॥
sree kalakee kar lai karavaar su ek hane ar anek paraae |397|

Whipping their horses and waving like the clouds of Sawan, they penetrated into the enemy’s army, but taking his sword in his hand, the Lord (Kalki) killed many and many and many fled away.397.

ਮਾਰ ਮਚੀ ਬਿਸੰਭਾਰ ਜਬੈ ਤਬ ਆਯੁਧ ਛੋਰਿ ਸਬੈ ਭਟ ਭਾਜੇ ॥
maar machee bisanbhaar jabai tab aayudh chhor sabai bhatt bhaaje |

When the killing blow (from Kalki) was struck, all the warriors threw down their weapons and fled.

ਡਾਰਿ ਹਥ੍ਯਾਰ ਉਤਾਰਿ ਸਨਾਹਿ ਸੁ ਏਕ ਹੀ ਬਾਰ ਭਜੇ ਨਹੀ ਗਾਜੇ ॥
ddaar hathayaar utaar sanaeh su ek hee baar bhaje nahee gaaje |

When the dreadful war was waged in this way, the warriors fled away, leaving behind their weapons, they put off their armours and throwing their weapons fled and then they did not shout

ਸ੍ਰੀ ਕਲਕੀ ਅਵਤਾਰ ਤਹਾ ਗਹਿ ਸਸਤ੍ਰ ਸਬੈ ਇਹ ਭਾਤਿ ਬਿਰਾਜੇ ॥
sree kalakee avataar tahaa geh sasatr sabai ih bhaat biraaje |

Sri Kalki Avatar is sitting there like this holding all the weapons

ਭੂਮਿ ਅਕਾਸ ਪਤਾਰ ਚਕਿਓ ਛਬਿ ਦੇਵ ਅਦੇਵ ਦੋਊ ਲਖਿ ਲਾਜੇ ॥੩੯੮॥
bhoom akaas pataar chakio chhab dev adev doaoo lakh laaje |398|

Kalki, catching his weapons in the battlefield looks so charming that seeing his beauty, the earth, sky and nether-world were all feeling shy.398.

ਦੇਖਿ ਭਜੀ ਪ੍ਰਤਿਨਾ ਅਰਿ ਕੀ ਕਲਕੀ ਅਵਤਾਰ ਹਥ੍ਯਾਰ ਸੰਭਾਰੇ ॥
dekh bhajee pratinaa ar kee kalakee avataar hathayaar sanbhaare |

Seeing the enemy's army fleeing, Kalki avatar has taken weapons in hand.

ਬਾਨ ਕਮਾਨ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾਨ ਗਦਾ ਛਿਨ ਬੀਚ ਸਬੈ ਕਰਿ ਚੂਰਨ ਡਾਰੇ ॥
baan kamaan kripaan gadaa chhin beech sabai kar chooran ddaare |

Seeing the army of the enemy running away, Kalki holding his weapons his bow and arrows, his sword, his mace etc., mashed everyone in an instant

ਭਾਗਿ ਚਲੇ ਇਹ ਭਾਤਿ ਭਟਾ ਜਿਮਿ ਪਉਨ ਬਹੇ ਦ੍ਰੁਮ ਪਾਤ ਨਿਹਾਰੇ ॥
bhaag chale ih bhaat bhattaa jim paun bahe drum paat nihaare |

The warriors have fled, just as they see the letters (falling) from the wings with the wind.

ਪੈਨ ਪਰੀ ਕਛੁ ਮਾਨ ਰਹਿਓ ਨਹਿ ਬਾਨਨ ਡਾਰਿ ਨਿਦਾਨ ਪਧਾਰੇ ॥੩੯੯॥
pain paree kachh maan rahio neh baanan ddaar nidaan padhaare |399|

The warriors ran away like the leaves before the blow of wind, those who took shelter, survived, the others, discharging their arrows fled away.399.

SUPRIYA STANZA

ਕਹੂੰ ਭਟ ਮਿਲਤ ਮੁਖਿ ਮਾਰ ਉਚਾਰਤ ॥
kahoon bhatt milat mukh maar uchaarat |

Somewhere the warriors shout 'Maro Maro' together.
