ਕਾਨਰ ਕੀ ਬਿਨਤੀ ਕਰੋ ਕੀਨੋ ਇਹੈ ਬਿਚਾਰ ॥੨੬੪॥
kaanar kee binatee karo keeno ihai bichaar |264|All of them decided, “Alright, let us go out of water and then request Krishna.”264.
ਸਵੈਯਾ ॥
savaiyaa |SWAYYA
ਦੈ ਅਗੂਆ ਪਿਛੂਆ ਅਪੁਨੇ ਕਰ ਪੈ ਸਭ ਹੀ ਜਲ ਤਿਆਗਿ ਖਰੀ ਹੈ ॥
dai agooaa pichhooaa apune kar pai sabh hee jal tiaag kharee hai |All the them came out of water, concealing their secret parts with their hands
ਕਾਨ ਕੇ ਪਾਇ ਪਰੀ ਬਹੁ ਬਾਰਨ ਅਉ ਬਿਨਤੀ ਬਹੁ ਭਾਤਿ ਕਰੀ ਹੈ ॥
kaan ke paae paree bahu baaran aau binatee bahu bhaat karee hai |They fell at the feet of Krishna and requested him in various ways
ਦੇਹੁ ਕਹਿਯੋ ਹਮਰੀ ਸਰ੍ਰਹੀਆ ਤੁਮ ਜੋ ਕਰਿ ਕੈ ਛਲ ਸਾਥ ਹਰੀ ਹੈ ॥
dehu kahiyo hamaree sarraheea tum jo kar kai chhal saath haree hai |And asked him to return the stolen clothes
ਜੇ ਕਹਿ ਹੋ ਮਨਿ ਹੈ ਹਮ ਸੋ ਅਤਿ ਹੀ ਸਭ ਸੀਤਹਿ ਸਾਥ ਠਰੀ ਹੈ ॥੨੬੫॥
je keh ho man hai ham so at hee sabh seeteh saath ttharee hai |265|“We have said, whatever was in our mind give us the clothes quickly, we are shivering with cold.”265.

ਕਾਨ੍ਰਹ ਕਹੀ ਹਸਿ ਬਾਤ ਤਿਨੈ ਕਹਿ ਹੈ ਹਮ ਜੋ ਤੁਮ ਸੋ ਮਨ ਹੋ ॥
kaanrah kahee has baat tinai keh hai ham jo tum so man ho |Krishna said, “See, whatever I shall say now, all of you will have to accept that
ਸਭ ਹੀ ਮੁਖ ਚੂਮਨ ਦੇਹੁ ਕਹਿਯੋ ਚੁਮ ਹੈ ਹਮ ਹੂੰ ਤੁਮ ਹੂੰ ਗਨਿ ਹੋ ॥
sabh hee mukh chooman dehu kahiyo chum hai ham hoon tum hoon gan ho |Let me kiss the faces of all I shall kiss and you count, all of you
ਅਰੁ ਤੋਰਨ ਦੇਹੁ ਕਹਿਯੋ ਸਭ ਹੀ ਕੁਚ ਨਾਤਰ ਹਉ ਤੁਮ ਕੋ ਹਨਿ ਹੋ ॥
ar toran dehu kahiyo sabh hee kuch naatar hau tum ko han ho |“Let me touch the nipple of your breasts, otherwise I shall behave more badly with you
ਤਬ ਹੀ ਪਟ ਦੇਉ ਸਭੈ ਤੁਮਰੇ ਇਹ ਝੂਠ ਨਹੀ ਸਤਿ ਕੈ ਜਨਿ ਹੋ ॥੨੬੬॥
tab hee patt deo sabhai tumare ih jhootth nahee sat kai jan ho |266|I am speaking truth that I shall give you the clothes only after doing all this.”266.
ਫੇਰਿ ਕਹੀ ਮੁਖ ਤੇ ਹਰਿ ਜੀ ਸੁਨਿ ਰੀ ਇਕ ਬਾਤ ਕਹੋ ਸੰਗ ਤੇਰੇ ॥
fer kahee mukh te har jee sun ree ik baat kaho sang tere |Then Krishna laughed and said this thing with his mouth, O dear! I have one thing to say to you, listen.
ਜੋਰਿ ਪ੍ਰਨਾਮ ਕਰੋ ਕਰ ਸੋ ਤੁਮ ਕਾਮ ਕਰਾ ਉਪਜੀ ਜੀਅ ਮੇਰੇ ॥
jor pranaam karo kar so tum kaam karaa upajee jeea mere |Krishna said again, “Listen to one thing of mine and bow before me with folded hands because all of you abide now in my heart like the supernatural powers of the god of love
ਤੌ ਹਮ ਬਾਤ ਕਹੀ ਤੁਮ ਸੋ ਜਬ ਘਾਤ ਬਨੀ ਸੁਭ ਠਉਰ ਅਕੇਰੇ ॥
tau ham baat kahee tum so jab ghaat banee subh tthaur akere |“I have said this to all of you for doing it, seeing the proper occasion and solitude for it
ਦਾਨ ਲਹੈ ਜੀਅ ਕੋ ਹਮ ਹੂੰ ਹਸਿ ਕਾਨ੍ਰਹ ਕਹੀ ਤੁਮਰੋ ਤਨ ਹੇਰੇ ॥੨੬੭॥
daan lahai jeea ko ham hoon has kaanrah kahee tumaro tan here |267|My heart has become satisfied on seeing you and receiving the donation of beauty from all of you.”267.
ਕਬਿਯੋ ਬਾਚ ਦੋਹਰਾ ॥
kabiyo baach doharaa |Speech of the poet: DOHRA
ਕਾਨ੍ਰਹ ਜਬੈ ਗੋਪੀ ਸਭੈ ਦੇਖਿਯੋ ਨੈਨ ਨਚਾਤ ॥
kaanrah jabai gopee sabhai dekhiyo nain nachaat |When Krishna met all the gopis
ਹ੍ਵੈ ਪ੍ਰਸੰਨਿ ਕਹਨੇ ਲਗੀ ਸਭੈ ਸੁਧਾ ਸੀ ਬਾਤ ॥੨੬੮॥
hvai prasan kahane lagee sabhai sudhaa see baat |268|When Krishna saw towards the gopis, causing the dance of his eyes, then all of them being pleased, began to utter sweet words like ambrosia.268.
ਗੋਪੀ ਬਾਚ ਕਾਨ੍ਰਹ ਸੋ ॥
gopee baach kaanrah so |Speech of gopis addressed to Krishna:

ਕਾਨ੍ਰਹ ਬਹਿਕ੍ਰਮ ਥੋਰੀ ਤੁਮੈ ਖੇਲਹੁ ਨ ਅਪਨੋ ਘਰ ਕਾਹੋ ॥
kaanrah bahikram thoree tumai khelahu na apano ghar kaaho |“O Krishna! already you have less understanding, you may play now in your own home
ਨੰਦ ਸੁਨੈ ਜਸੁਧਾ ਤਪਤੈ ਤਿਹ ਤੇ ਤੁਮ ਕਾਨ੍ਰਹ ਭਏ ਹਰਕਾ ਹੋ ॥
nand sunai jasudhaa tapatai tih te tum kaanrah bhe harakaa ho |When Nand and Yashoda will listen, then you will feel more inferior with shame
ਨੇਹੁੰ ਲਗੈ ਨਹ ਜੋਰ ਭਏ ਤੁਮ ਨੇਹੁ ਲਗਾਵਤ ਹੋ ਬਰ ਕਾਹੋ ॥
nehun lagai nah jor bhe tum nehu lagaavat ho bar kaaho |Love does not (never) fall by force, (but why do you) drive nails by force.
ਲੇਹੁ ਕਹਾ ਇਨ ਬਾਤਨ ਤੇ ਰਸ ਜਾਨਤ ਕਾ ਅਜਹੂੰ ਲਰਕਾ ਹੋ ॥੨੬੯॥
lehu kahaa in baatan te ras jaanat kaa ajahoon larakaa ho |269|“The love cannot be done with force, why are you doing all that? You cannot fell pleasure in such things now, because you are still a boy.”269.

ਕਮਲ ਸੇ ਆਨਨ ਕੁਰੰਗਨ ਸੇ ਨੇਤ੍ਰਨ ਸੋ ਤਨ ਕੀ ਪ੍ਰਭਾ ਮੈ ਸਾਰੇ ਭਾਵਨ ਸੋ ਭਰੀਆ ॥
kamal se aanan kurangan se netran so tan kee prabhaa mai saare bhaavan so bhareea |(Whose) face is like a lotus, eyes are like a deer, beauty of body is full of all people.
ਰਾਜਤ ਹੈ ਗੁਪੀਆ ਪ੍ਰਸੰਨ ਭਈ ਐਸੀ ਭਾਤਿ ਚੰਦ੍ਰਮਾ ਚਰ੍ਰਹੈ ਤੇ ਜਿਉ ਬਿਰਾਜੈ ਸੇਤ ਹਰੀਆ ॥
raajat hai gupeea prasan bhee aaisee bhaat chandramaa charrahai te jiau biraajai set hareea |The gopis with lotus-like faces, doe-like eyes and with lustrous bodies filled with emotions looked impressive like the green and white colours on the rising of the moon
ਰਸ ਹੀ ਕੀ ਬਾਤੈ ਰਸ ਰੀਤਿ ਹੀ ਕੇ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਹੂੰ ਮੈ ਕਹੈ ਕਬਿ ਸ੍ਯਾਮ ਸਾਥ ਕਾਨ੍ਰਹ ਜੂ ਕੇ ਖਰੀਆ ॥
ras hee kee baatai ras reet hee ke prem hoon mai kahai kab sayaam saath kaanrah joo ke khareea |They are standing with Krishna, while talking about dancing and amorous pastime
ਮਦਨ ਕੇ ਹਾਰਨ ਬਨਾਇਬੇ ਕੇ ਕਾਜ ਮਾਨੋ ਹਿਤ ਕੈ ਪਰੋਵਤ ਹੈ ਮੋਤਿਨ ਕੀ ਲਰੀਆ ॥੨੭੦॥
madan ke haaran banaaeibe ke kaaj maano hit kai parovat hai motin kee lareea |270|They are standing like the ones standing for braiding the necklace of gems in order to vest the god of love.270.
ਸਵੈਯਾ ॥
savaiyaa |SWAYYA
ਕਾਹੇ ਕੋ ਕਾਨ੍ਰਹ ਜੂ ਕਾਮ ਕੇ ਬਾਨ ਲਗਾਵਤ ਹੋ ਤਨ ਕੇ ਧਨੁ ਭਉਹੈ ॥
kaahe ko kaanrah joo kaam ke baan lagaavat ho tan ke dhan bhauhai |Oh my god! Why do you shoot the arrows of desire by drawing the bow in the form of Bhavan?
ਕਾਹੇ ਕਉ ਨੇਹੁ ਲਗਾਵਤ ਹੋ ਮੁਸਕਾਵਤ ਹੋ ਚਲਿ ਆਵਤ ਸਉਹੈ ॥
kaahe kau nehu lagaavat ho musakaavat ho chal aavat sauhai |“O Krishna! why are you discharging the arrows of the god of love from the bow of your eyebrows? Why are you advancing towards us with increased love smilingly?
ਕਾਹੇ ਕਉ ਪਾਗ ਧਰੋ ਤਿਰਛੀ ਅਰੁ ਕਾਹੇ ਭਰੋ ਤਿਰਛੀ ਤੁਮ ਗਉਹੈ ॥
kaahe kau paag dharo tirachhee ar kaahe bharo tirachhee tum gauhai |Why does he wear a slanting turban (on his head) and why does he make a slanting turban (with his eyes)?
ਕਾਹੇ ਰਿਝਾਵਤ ਹੌ ਮਨ ਭਾਵਤ ਆਹਿ ਦਿਵਵਾਤ ਹੈ ਹਮ ਸਉਹੈ ॥੨੭੧॥
kaahe rijhaavat hau man bhaavat aaeh divavaat hai ham sauhai |271|“Why do you wear slanting turban and why do you walk slantingly also? Why are you bewitching us all? O Captivating one! you appear to us very fine, though you had sworn about it.”271.
ਬਾਤ ਸੁਨੀ ਹਰਿ ਕੀ ਜਬ ਸ੍ਰਉਨਨ ਰੀਝ ਹਸੀ ਸਭ ਹੀ ਬ੍ਰਿਜ ਬਾਮੈ ॥
baat sunee har kee jab sraunan reejh hasee sabh hee brij baamai |(When) hearing the words of Sri Krishna with their ears, all the women of Braj-bhoomi started laughing.
ਠਾਢੀ ਭਈ ਤਰੁ ਤੀਰ ਤਬੈ ਹਰੂਏ ਹਰੂਏ ਚਲ ਕੈ ਗਜ ਗਾਮੈ ॥
tthaadtee bhee tar teer tabai harooe harooe chal kai gaj gaamai |When the women of Braja heard the words of Krishna, they got pleased in their minds and gradually, they having the gait of the elephant, came under that tree, on which Krishna was sitting
ਬੇਰਿ ਬਨੇ ਤਿਨ ਨੇਤ੍ਰਨ ਕੇ ਜਨੁ ਮੈਨ ਬਨਾਇ ਧਰੇ ਇਹ ਦਾਮੈ ॥
ber bane tin netran ke jan main banaae dhare ih daamai |Their eyes began to see Krishna constantly they appeared like the llighting of lust
ਸ੍ਯਾਮ ਰਸਾਤੁਰ ਪੇਖਤ ਯੌ ਜਿਮ ਟੂਟਤ ਬਾਜ ਛੁਧਾ ਜੁਤ ਤਾਮੈ ॥੨੭੨॥
sayaam rasaatur pekhat yau jim ttoottat baaj chhudhaa jut taamai |272|Krishna, greatly agitated, seeing those women, fell upon them like a hungry falcon.272.
ਕਾਮ ਸੇ ਰੂਪ ਕਲਾਨਿਧਿ ਸੇ ਮੁਖ ਕੀਰ ਸੇ ਨਾਕ ਕੁਰੰਗ ਸੇ ਨੈਨਨ ॥
kaam se roop kalaanidh se mukh keer se naak kurang se nainan |(Who Sri Krishna) has a form like Kama, a face like the moon, a nose like a parrot and eyes like a deer.
ਕੰਚਨ ਸੇ ਤਨ ਦਾਰਿਮ ਦਾਤ ਕਪੋਤ ਸੇ ਕੰਠ ਸੁ ਕੋਕਿਲ ਬੈਨਨ ॥
kanchan se tan daarim daat kapot se kantth su kokil bainan |Those gopis had the beauty of the god of love, faces like moon, noses like parrot, eyes like doe, bodies like gold, teeth like pomegranate, necks like pigeons and sweet speech like nightingales
ਕਾਨ੍ਰਹ ਲਗਿਯੋ ਕਹਨੇ ਤਿਨ ਸੋ ਹਸਿ ਕੈ ਕਬਿ ਸ੍ਯਾਮ ਸਹਾਇਕ ਧੈਨਨ ॥
kaanrah lagiyo kahane tin so has kai kab sayaam sahaaeik dhainan |Poet Shyam says, the attendants of the cows laughed and said, (O gopis!)
ਮੋਹਿ ਲਯੋ ਸਭ ਹੀ ਮਨੁ ਮੇਰੋ ਸੁ ਭਉਹ ਨਚਾਇ ਤੁਮੈ ਸੰਗ ਸੈਨਨ ॥੨੭੩॥
mohi layo sabh hee man mero su bhauh nachaae tumai sang sainan |273|Krishna said to them smilingly, “You people have enchanted my mind by your signs and by causing the dance of your eyebrows.273.
ਕਾਨ੍ਰਹ ਬਡੇ ਰਸ ਕੇ ਹਿਰੀਆ ਸਬ ਹੀ ਜਲ ਬੀਚ ਅਚਾਨਕ ਹੇਰੀ ॥
kaanrah badde ras ke hireea sab hee jal beech achaanak heree |Kanha is a great robber of juice. (When) he suddenly saw all the (gopis) (bathing naked) in the water (he went on their heads).
ਸਉਹ ਤੁਮੈ ਜਸੁਧਾ ਕਹੁ ਬਾਤ ਕਿਸਾਰਥ ਕੌ ਇਹ ਜਾ ਹਮ ਘੇਰੀ ॥
sauh tumai jasudhaa kahu baat kisaarath kau ih jaa ham gheree |Krishna appeared like a man of taste to them and they clung to him, they said . “You must swear by Yashoda that you will not tell anyone that you had enticed us like that
ਦੇਹੁ ਕਹਿਯੋ ਸਭ ਹੀ ਹਮਰੇ ਪਟ ਹੋਹਿਾਂ ਸਭੈ ਤੁਮਰੀ ਹਮ ਚੇਰੀ ॥
dehu kahiyo sabh hee hamare patt hohiaan sabhai tumaree ham cheree |They added, “We are your slaves kindly return our clothes
ਕੈਸੇ ਪ੍ਰਨਾਮ ਕਰੈ ਤੁਮ ਕੋ ਅਤਿ ਲਾਜ ਕਰੈ ਹਰਿ ਜੀ ਹਮ ਤੇਰੀ ॥੨੭੪॥
kaise pranaam karai tum ko at laaj karai har jee ham teree |274|O Krishna, how should we bow before you? we are feeling very shy.”274.
ਪਾਪ ਕਰਿਯੋ ਹਰਿ ਕੈ ਤੁਮਰੇ ਪਟ ਅਉ ਤਰੁ ਪੈ ਚੜਿ ਸੀਤ ਸਹਾ ਹੈ ॥
paap kariyo har kai tumare patt aau tar pai charr seet sahaa hai |“I have stolen your clothes and now you are enduring more cold uselessly
