ਹਵਾਲਹ ਨਮੂਦਸ਼ ਕਿ ਓ ਰਾ ਨਿਸ਼ਾਦ ॥੩੫॥
havaalah namoodash ki o raa nishaad |35|Invited him besides him and, then, handed him over (to the woman).(35)
ਤੁ ਆਜ਼ਾਦ ਗਸ਼ਤੀ ਅਜ਼ੀ ਸਹਿਲ ਚੀਜ਼ ॥
tu aazaad gashatee azee sahil cheez |(She said to the Prince), ‘You have easily attained the freedom,
ਬਿਗੀਰਏ ਬਿਰਾਦਰ ਤੁ ਅਜ਼ ਜ਼ਾ ਅਜ਼ੀਜ਼ ॥੩੬॥
bigeere biraadar tu az zaa azeez |36|‘Now you apprehend them (Raja and his Councillors). I love you more than my life’.(36)
ਜ਼ਨੇ ਪੇਚ ਦਸਤਾਰ ਰਾ ਤਾਬਦਾਦ ॥
zane pech dasataar raa taabadaad |She held the folds of her turban with one hand,
ਦਿਗ਼ਰ ਦਸਤ ਬਰ ਮੁਸ਼ਤ ਤੇਗਸ਼ ਨਿਹਾਦ ॥੩੭॥
digar dasat bar mushat tegash nihaad |37|And put the other hand on the scabbard of her sword,(37)
ਬਿਜ਼ਦ ਤਾਜ਼ੀਯਾਨਹ ਬ ਹਰ ਚਾਰ ਚਾਰ ॥
bizad taazeeyaanah b har chaar chaar |She gave four lashes to each one of them (the grass-cutters),
ਬਗੁਫ਼ਤਾ ਕਿ ਏ ਬੇ ਖ਼ਬਰ ਬੇ ਮੁਹਾਰ ॥੩੮॥
bagufataa ki e be khabar be muhaar |38|And said, ‘You, the ignorant, you don’t know anything.(38)
ਕਿ ਆਮਦ ਦਰੀਂ ਜਾ ਵਜ਼ਾ ਕਾਹ ਨੇਸਤ ॥
ki aamad dareen jaa vazaa kaah nesat |‘You have come here where there is no grass to cut.
ਕਿ ਏਜ਼ਦ ਗਵਾਹ ਅਸਤ ਯਜ਼ਦਾ ਯਕੇਸਤ ॥੩੯॥
ki ezad gavaah asat yazadaa yakesat |39|‘The God only is my witness,’(39)
ਦਰੋਗੇ ਮਰਾ ਬਰ ਗ਼ਫ਼ੂਰੇ ਗੁਆਹਸਤ ॥
daroge maraa bar gafoore guaahasat |‘God is my Protector,
ਬਿਗੋਯਦ ਕਿ ਮਾਰਾ ਪਨਾਹੇ ਖ਼ੁਦਾਸਤ ॥੪੦॥
bigoyad ki maaraa panaahe khudaasat |40|‘He is Forgiver and, I am sure, He will excuse my lie.‘(40)
ਰਿਹਾਈ ਦਿਹੰਦਹ ਖ਼ੁਦਾਵੰਦ ਤਖ਼ਤ ॥
rihaaee dihandah khudaavand takhat |After gaining freedom for his sovereign,
ਵਿਦਾ ਗਸ਼ਤ ਜ਼ੋ ਮੰਜ਼ਲੋ ਜਾਇ ਸਖ਼ਤ ॥੪੧॥
vidaa gashat zo manzalo jaae sakhat |41|She left that place for her own abode.(41)
ਬਿਦਿਹ ਸਾਕੀਯਾ ਸਾਗਰੇ ਸਬਜ਼ ਪਾਨ ॥
bidih saakeeyaa saagare sabaz paan |(The poet says), ‘Oh! Saki, give me green wine to drink,
ਕਿ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਸ਼ਊਰ ਅਸਤ ਜ਼ਾਹਰ ਜਹਾਨ ॥੪੨॥
ki saahib shaoor asat zaahar jahaan |42|Because the Master of the Intellect prevails all over.(42)
ਬਿਦਿਹ ਸਾਕੀਯਾ ਜਾਮ ਫ਼ੀਰੋਜ਼ ਰੰਗ ॥
bidih saakeeyaa jaam feeroz rang |‘Saki! Give me the cup full of greenish (liquid),
ਕਿ ਦਰ ਵਕਤ ਸ਼ਬ ਚੂੰ ਖ਼ੁਸ਼ੇ ਰੋਜ਼ ਜੰਗ ॥੪੩॥੬॥
ki dar vakat shab choon khushe roz jang |43|6|“Which soothes during the wars and the lonely nights.”(42)
ੴ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਜੀ ਕੀ ਫ਼ਤਹ ॥
ik oankaar vaahiguroo jee kee fatah |The Lord is One and the Victory is of the True Guru.
ਖ਼ੁਦਾਵੰਦ ਬਖ਼ਸ਼ਿੰਦਹੇ ਬੇਸ਼ੁਮਾਰ ॥
khudaavand bakhashindahe beshumaar |God is all-benevolent,
ਕਿ ਜ਼ਾਹਰ ਜ਼ਹੂਰ ਅਸਤ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਦਿਯਾਰ ॥੧॥
ki zaahar zahoor asat saahib diyaar |1|He is luminously manifest and dominates all the domains.(1)
ਤਬੀਅਤ ਬਹਾਲਸਤ ਹੁਸਨਲ ਜਮਾਲ ॥
tabeeat bahaalasat husanal jamaal |His will prevails, and his blessedness is splendid,
ਚੁ ਹੁਸਨਲ ਜਮਾਲੋ ਫ਼ਜ਼ੀਲਤ ਕਮਾਲ ॥੨॥
chu husanal jamaalo fazeelat kamaal |2|And the splendid blessedness is epitome of sagacity.(2)
ਕਿ ਇਸਫ਼ੰਦ ਯਾਰ ਅਜ਼ ਜਹਾ ਰਖ਼ਤ ਬੁਰਦ ॥
ki isafand yaar az jahaa rakhat burad |When Asphand Yaar departed from this world taking all his belongings (deeds) with him,
ਨਸਬ ਨਾਮਹੇ ਖ਼ੁਦ ਬ ਬਹਿਮਨ ਸਪੁਰਦ ॥੩॥
nasab naamahe khud b bahiman sapurad |3|He conferred the sovereignty to his son, Bahmin.(3)
ਅਜ਼ਾ ਦੁਖ਼ਤਰੇ ਹਮ ਚੁ ਪਰਰੇ ਹੁਮਾਇ ॥
azaa dukhatare ham chu parare humaae |That Bahmin had a daughter, who was like the wings of phoenix.
ਚੁ ਹੁਸਨਲ ਜਮਾਲ ਅਸਤ ਦਉਲਤ ਫ਼ਿਜ਼ਾਇ ॥੪॥
chu husanal jamaal asat daulat fizaae |4|And she was elegantly graceful and quite affluent (4)
ਚੁ ਬਹਮਨ ਸ਼ਹ ਅਜ਼ ਈਂ ਜਹਾ ਬੁਰਦ ਰਖ਼ਤ ॥
chu bahaman shah az een jahaa burad rakhat |When Bahmin, as well, departed from this world facing his destiny,
ਬ ਦੁਖ਼ਤਰ ਸੁਪਰਦੰਦ ਆਂ ਤਾਜ ਤਖ਼ਤ ॥੫॥
b dukhatar suparadand aan taaj takhat |5|He bestowed the sovereignty to his daughter.(5)
ਨਿਸ਼ਸਤੰਦ ਬਰ ਤਖ਼ਤ ਰੂਮੀ ਹੁਮਾਇ ॥
nishasatand bar takhat roomee humaae |She was the one, who was like the phoenix of Rome,
ਕਿ ਬੁਸਤਾ ਬਹਾਰ ਅਸਤੁ ਸੂਰਤ ਫ਼ਿਜ਼ਾਇ ॥੬॥
ki busataa bahaar asat soorat fizaae |6|Spread over to progress like the spring season.(6)
ਚੁ ਬੁਗ਼ਜ਼ਸ਼ਤ ਬਰ ਵੈ ਜ਼ਿ ਦਹ ਸਾਲ ਚਾਰ ॥
chu bugazashat bar vai zi dah saal chaar |When fourteen years had gone by and she became teen-ager,
ਕਿ ਪੈਦਾ ਸ਼ੁਦਹ ਸਬਜ਼ਹੇ ਨੌਬਹਾਰ ॥੭॥
ki paidaa shudah sabazahe nauabahaar |7|Her charm gained the full swing.(7)
ਬਹਾਰੇ ਜਵਾਨੀ ਬ ਨਉਬਤ ਰਸੀਦ ॥
bahaare javaanee b naubat raseed |She reached the same stage,
ਚੁ ਬੁਸਤਾ ਗੁਲੇ ਸੁਰਖ਼ ਬੇਰੂੰ ਕਸ਼ੀਦ ॥੮॥
chu busataa gule surakh beroon kasheed |8|As the rose flower which bloomed in the garden.(8)
ਬ ਹੁਸਨ ਅਮਦਸ਼ ਤੂਤੀਏ ਨੌਬਹਾਰ ॥
b husan amadash tootee nauabahaar |Her beauty enchanted like the blue bird that scintillated in the spring,
ਚੁ ਮਾਹੇ ਕਿ ਬਰਖ਼ੁਦ ਕੁਨਦ ਨੌਬਹਾਰ ॥੯॥
chu maahe ki barakhud kunad nauabahaar |9|And like the moon that adorned itself in joyous weather.(9)
ਮਿਜ਼ਾਜ਼ਸ਼ ਜ਼ਿ ਤਿਫ਼ਲੀ ਬਰੂੰ ਦਰ ਰਸੀਦ ॥
mizaazash zi tifalee baroon dar raseed |The childlike innocence was still depicting,
ਜਵਾਨੀ ਜ਼ਿ ਆਗ਼ਾਜ਼ ਬਰਵੈ ਕਸ਼ੀਦ ॥੧੦॥
javaanee zi aagaaz baravai kasheed |10|When the flavour of youth descended on her.(10)
ਵਿਦਾ ਸ਼ੁਦ ਅਜ਼ੋ ਹਾਲ ਤਿਫ਼ਲੀ ਮਿਜ਼ਾਜ ॥
vidaa shud azo haal tifalee mizaaj |When all her childhood flew away,
ਬਹਾਰੇ ਜਵਾਨੀ ਦਰਾਮਦ ਬੁਬਾਜ਼ ॥੧੧॥
bahaare javaanee daraamad bubaaz |11|And the spell of adolescence over powered,(11)
ਕਿ ਬਿਨਸ਼ਸਤ ਬਰ ਤਖ਼ਤ ਸ਼ਾਹਨ ਸ਼ਹੀ ॥
ki binashasat bar takhat shaahan shahee |Then she enthroned herself on the royal seat,
ਬ ਕਲਮ ਅੰਦਰ ਆਵੇਖ਼ਤ ਕਾਗ਼ਜ਼ ਮਹੀ ॥੧੨॥
b kalam andar aavekhat kaagaz mahee |12|And pondered over the regal papers prevalent there.(12)
ਨਜ਼ਰ ਕਰਦ ਬਰ ਬਚਹ ਗੌਹਰ ਨਿਗਾਰ ॥
nazar karad bar bachah gauahar nigaar |Once she came across an appraiser of diamonds (jeweller),
ਕਿ ਬੁਰਦ ਅੰਦਰੂੰਨ ਸ਼ਬ ਵਕਤੇ ਗ਼ੁਬਾਰ ॥੧੩॥
ki burad andaroon shab vakate gubaar |13|And, taking the advantage of darkness, she took him inside.(13)
ਬਿਆਵੇਖ਼ਤ ਬਾ ਓ ਦੁ ਸੇ ਚਾਰ ਮਾਹ ॥
biaavekhat baa o du se chaar maah |She kept him in for two, three, four months,
ਕਿ ਸ਼ਿਕਮਸ਼ ਫ਼ਰੋਮਾਦ ਅਜ਼ ਤੁਖ਼ਮਿ ਸ਼ਾਹ ॥੧੪॥
ki shikamash faromaad az tukham shaah |14|And through the semen of that tycoon, she became pregnant.(14)
ਚੁ ਨਹ ਮਾਹ ਗਸ਼ਤਹ ਬ ਆਂ ਬਿਸਤਨੀ ॥
chu nah maah gashatah b aan bisatanee |When nine month have gone by,
ਬ ਕੋਸ਼ਸ਼ ਦਰਾਮਦ ਰਗੇ ਖ਼ੁਸ਼ਤਨੀ ॥੧੫॥
b koshash daraamad rage khushatanee |15|The delightful lady felt movement of child birth.(15)
