ਦੋਹਰਾ ॥

ਅਤਿ ਰਤਿ ਤਾ ਸੋ ਮਾਨਿ ਕੈ ਸੰਗ ਪਿਯਰਵਹਿ ਲ੍ਯਾਇ ॥
at rat taa so maan kai sang piyaraveh layaae |After having a lot of love with him, she brought her lover with her.
ਹਜਰਤ ਕੋ ਇਹ ਛਲ ਛਲਿਯੋ ਸਵਤਿਹਿ ਦਿਯੋ ਜਰਾਇ ॥੧੮॥

ਹਿੰਗੁਲਾਜ ਜਗ ਮਾਤ ਕੇ ਰਹੈ ਦੇਹਰੋ ਏਕ ॥
hingulaaj jag maat ke rahai deharo ek |There was a temple of Devi in Hingulaj
ਜਾਹਿ ਜਗਤ ਕੇ ਜੀਵ ਸਭ ਬੰਦਤ ਆਨਿ ਅਨੇਕ ॥੧॥
jaeh jagat ke jeev sabh bandat aan anek |1|Whom all the creatures of the world came and worshiped in many ways. 1.

ਸਿੰਘ ਬਚਿਤ੍ਰ ਤਹਾ ਕੋ ਨ੍ਰਿਪ ਬਰ ॥
singh bachitr tahaa ko nrip bar |Bachitra Singh was the best king there.
ਭਾਤਿ ਭਾਤਿ ਕੋ ਧਨੁ ਤਾ ਕੇ ਘਰ ॥
bhaat bhaat ko dhan taa ke ghar |There was a lot of wealth in his house.
ਭਾਨ ਕਲਾ ਤਿਹ ਤ੍ਰਿਯਾ ਭਣਿਜੈ ॥
bhaan kalaa tih triyaa bhanijai |His mistress was a woman named Kala.
ਤਾ ਕੇ ਕੋ ਤ੍ਰਿਯ ਤੁਲਿ ਕਹਿਜੈ ॥੨॥
taa ke ko triy tul kahijai |2|What woman is equal to him? (i.e. no one was like him) 2.
ਦਿਜਬਰ ਸਿੰਘ ਏਕ ਦਿਜ ਤਾ ਕੇ ॥
dijabar singh ek dij taa ke |He had a Brahmin named Dijbar Singh.
ਭਿਸਤ ਕਲਾ ਅਬਲਾ ਗ੍ਰਿਹ ਵਾ ਕੇ ॥
bhisat kalaa abalaa grih vaa ke |In his house there was a woman named Bhist Kala.
ਸਾਤ ਪੂਤ ਸੁੰਦਰ ਤਿਹ ਘਰ ਮੈ ॥
saat poot sundar tih ghar mai |He (the Brahmin) had seven beautiful sons.
ਕੋਬਿਦ ਸਭ ਹੀ ਰਹਤ ਹੁਨਰ ਮੈ ॥੩॥
kobid sabh hee rahat hunar mai |3|They were all experts in skill. 3.

ਤਹਾ ਭਵਾਨੀ ਕੋ ਭਵਨ ਜਾਹਿਰ ਸਕਲ ਜਹਾਨ ॥
tahaa bhavaanee ko bhavan jaahir sakal jahaan |There was a world famous temple of Bhavani
ਦੇਸ ਦੇਸ ਕੇ ਏਸ ਜਿਹ ਸੀਸ ਝੁਕਾਵਤ ਆਨਿ ॥੪॥
des des ke es jih sees jhukaavat aan |4|In which the kings of the countries used to come and bend the lead. 4.
ਅੜਿਲ ॥

ਅਤਿ ਸੁੰਦਰ ਮਠ ਊਚੀ ਧੁਜਾ ਬਿਰਾਜਹੀ ॥
at sundar matth aoochee dhujaa biraajahee |It was a very beautiful monastery and (on it) a tall Dhuja was blessed.
ਨਿਰਖਿ ਦਿਪਤਤਾ ਤਾਹਿ ਸੁ ਦਾਮਨਿ ਲਾਜਹੀ ॥
nirakh dipatataa taeh su daaman laajahee |Even Bijli was ashamed to see her radiance.
ਦੇਸ ਦੇਸ ਕੇ ਏਸ ਤਹਾ ਚਲਿ ਆਵਹੀ ॥
des des ke es tahaa chal aavahee |The kings of different countries used to come there.
ਹੋ ਜਾਨਿ ਸਿਵਾ ਕੋ ਭਵਨ ਸਦਾ ਸਿਰ ਨ੍ਯਾਵਹੀ ॥੫॥
ho jaan sivaa ko bhavan sadaa sir nayaavahee |5|They used to bow down to him as the temple of Shiva (Bhavani).5.

ਜੋ ਇਛਾ ਕੋਊ ਕਰੈ ਸੋ ਸਭ ਪੂਰਨ ਹੋਇ ॥
jo ichhaa koaoo karai so sabh pooran hoe |Whatever one wished there, it was fulfilled.
ਪ੍ਰਗਟ ਬਾਤ ਸਭ ਜਗਤ ਇਹ ਜਾਨਤ ਹੈ ਸਭ ਕੋਇ ॥੬॥
pragatt baat sabh jagat ih jaanat hai sabh koe |6|This matter was evident in the whole world and everyone knew it. 6.

ਏਕ ਦਿਵਸ ਐਸੋ ਤਹ ਭਯੋ ॥
ek divas aaiso tah bhayo |One day it happened like this.
ਅਥ੍ਰਯੋ ਸੂਰ ਚੰਦ੍ਰ ਪ੍ਰਗਟਯੋ ॥
athrayo soor chandr pragattayo |The sun set and the moon rose.
ਅਕਸਮਾਤ੍ਰ ਬਾਨੀ ਤਿਹ ਭਈ ॥
akasamaatr baanee tih bhee |(Then) suddenly there was a sky-diving
ਸੋ ਦਿਜਬਰ ਸ੍ਰਵਨਨ ਸੁਨਿ ਲਈ ॥੭॥
so dijabar sravanan sun lee |7|Which the Brahmin heard with his ears.7.
ਪ੍ਰਾਤ ਭਏ ਰਾਜਾ ਇਹ ਮਰਿ ਹੈ ॥
praat bhe raajaa ih mar hai |This king will die in the morning.
ਕੋਟਿ ਉਪਾਵ ਕਿਸੈ ਨ ਉਬਰਿ ਹੈ ॥
kott upaav kisai na ubar hai |Even taking crores of measures will not save.
ਜੋ ਕੋਊ ਸਾਤ ਪੂਤ ਹ੍ਯਾਂ ਮਾਰੈ ॥
jo koaoo saat poot hayaan maarai |If one sacrifices (his) seven sons here
ਤੌ ਅਪਨੌ ਯਹ ਰਾਵ ਉਬਾਰੇ ॥੮॥
tau apanau yah raav ubaare |8|Then (he) can save this king of his.8.
ਦਿਜਬਰ ਸੁਨਿ ਬਚਨਨ ਗ੍ਰਿਹ ਆਯੋ ॥
dijabar sun bachanan grih aayo |The Brahmin heard these words and came home.
ਨਿਜੁ ਨਾਰੀ ਤਨ ਭੇਦ ਜਤਾਯੋ ॥
nij naaree tan bhed jataayo |Tell your wife everything.
ਤਬ ਤ੍ਰਿਯ ਸਾਤ ਪੂਤ ਸੰਗ ਲੀਨੇ ॥
tab triy saat poot sang leene |Then the woman took (her) seven sons with her.
ਸਰਬ ਮੰਗਲਾ ਕੀ ਬਲਿ ਦੀਨੇ ॥੯॥
sarab mangalaa kee bal deene |9|They all sacrificed to the goddess ('Mangala'). 9.
ਸਾਤ ਪੂਤ ਪਿਤ ਹਨੇ ਨਿਹਾਰੇ ॥
saat poot pit hane nihaare |When the father saw seven sons dead
ਅਸਿ ਲੈ ਕੰਠ ਆਪਨੇ ਮਾਰੇ ॥
as lai kantth aapane maare |So he took the sword and hit his neck.
ਸੁਰ ਪੁਰ ਬਾਟ ਜਬੈ ਤਿਨ ਲਈ ॥
sur pur baatt jabai tin lee |When he took the road to heaven
ਠਾਢੀ ਨਾਰਿ ਨਿਹਾਰਤ ਭਈ ॥੧੦॥
tthaadtee naar nihaarat bhee |10|Then that woman was looking up. 10.
ਵਹੈ ਹਾਥ ਅਪਨੇ ਅਸਿ ਲੀਨੋ ॥
vahai haath apane as leeno |He also took a sword in his hand
ਨਿਜੁ ਪ੍ਰਾਨਨ ਕੋ ਤ੍ਰਾਸ ਨ ਕੀਨੋ ॥
nij praanan ko traas na keeno |And do not fear for your life.
ਰਾਵ ਬਚੈ ਕਹਿ ਤਾਹਿ ਸੰਭਾਰਿਯੋ ॥
raav bachai keh taeh sanbhaariyo |He thought that somehow the king would be saved.
ਗਹਿ ਕਰਿ ਕੰਠ ਆਪਨੇ ਮਾਰਿਯੋ ॥੧੧॥
geh kar kantth aapane maariyo |11|(He took hold of the sword) and hit it on his neck. 11.
