ਤ੍ਯਾਗਿ ਗਏ ਨ ਲਈ ਇਨ ਕੀ ਸੁਧਿ ਹੋਤ ਕਛੂ ਮਨਿ ਮੋਹ ਤੁਹਾਰੇ ॥
tayaag ge na lee in kee sudh hot kachhoo man moh tuhaare |“You have not communicated at all with these residents of Braja
ਆਪ ਰਚੇ ਪੁਰ ਬਾਸਿਨ ਸੋ ਇਨ ਕੇ ਸਭ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਬਿਦਾ ਕਰਿ ਡਾਰੇ ॥
aap rache pur baasin so in ke sabh prem bidaa kar ddaare |Does no attachment arise in your mind? You yourself had been absorbed with the inhabitants of the city and had relinquished all the love of these people
ਤਾ ਤੇ ਨ ਮਾਨ ਕਰੋ ਫਿਰਿ ਆਵਹੁ ਜੀਤਤ ਭੇ ਤੁਮ ਹੂੰ ਹਮ ਹਾਰੇ ॥
taa te na maan karo fir aavahu jeetat bhe tum hoon ham haare |“O Krishna! do not persist now
ਤਾ ਤੇ ਤਜੋ ਮਥੁਰਾ ਫਿਰਿ ਆਵਹੁ ਹੇ ਸਭ ਗਊਅਨ ਕੇ ਰਖਵਾਰੇ ॥੯੫੨॥
taa te tajo mathuraa fir aavahu he sabh gaooan ke rakhavaare |952|It is right to say that you have won and we have been defeated, O Krishna, the protector of cows! now leave Mathura and come here again.”952.
ਸ੍ਯਾਮ ਚਿਤਾਰ ਕੈ ਸ੍ਯਾਮ ਕਹੈ ਮਨ ਮੈ ਸਭ ਗ੍ਵਾਰਨੀਯਾ ਦੁਖ ਪਾਵੈ ॥
sayaam chitaar kai sayaam kahai man mai sabh gvaaraneeyaa dukh paavai |Remembering Krishna, the poet says that all the gopis are suffering
ਏਕ ਪਰੈ ਮੁਰਝਾਇ ਧਰਾ ਇਕ ਬਿਯੋਗ ਭਰੀ ਗੁਨ ਬਿਯੋਗ ਹੀ ਗਾਵੈ ॥
ek parai murajhaae dharaa ik biyog bharee gun biyog hee gaavai |Someone on becoming unconscious is falling separation
ਕੋਊ ਕਹੈ ਜਦੁਰਾ ਮੁਖ ਤੇ ਸੁਨਿ ਸ੍ਰਉਨਨ ਬਾਤ ਤਹਾ ਏਊ ਧਾਵੈ ॥
koaoo kahai jaduraa mukh te sun sraunan baat tahaa eaoo dhaavai |
ਜਉ ਪਿਖਵੈ ਨ ਤਹਾ ਤਿਨ ਕੋ ਸੁ ਕਹੈ ਹਮ ਕੋ ਹਰਿ ਹਾਥਿ ਨ ਆਵੈ ॥੯੫੩॥
jau pikhavai na tahaa tin ko su kahai ham ko har haath na aavai |953|Someone is running hither and thither shouting the name of Krishna and listening to the sound of his moving feet with her ears and when does not see him, she says in her state of worry that she is not getting at Krishna.953.
ਗ੍ਵਾਰਨਿ ਬ੍ਯਾਕੁਲ ਚਿਤ ਭਈ ਹਰਿ ਕੇ ਨਹੀ ਆਵਨ ਕੀ ਸੁਧਿ ਪਾਈ ॥
gvaaran bayaakul chit bhee har ke nahee aavan kee sudh paaee |The gopis are greatly worried and they have no inkling of the coming of Krishna
ਬ੍ਯਾਕੁਲ ਹੋਇ ਗਈ ਚਿਤ ਮੈ ਬ੍ਰਿਖਭਾਨ ਸੁਤਾ ਮਨ ਮੈ ਮੁਰਝਾਈ ॥
bayaakul hoe gee chit mai brikhabhaan sutaa man mai murajhaaee |Radha, being in great anguish, has become lifeless
ਜੋ ਬਿਰਥਾ ਮਨ ਬੀਚ ਹੁਤੀ ਸੋਊ ਊਧਵ ਕੇ ਤਿਹ ਪਾਸ ਸੁਨਾਈ ॥
jo birathaa man beech hutee soaoo aoodhav ke tih paas sunaaee |
ਸ੍ਯਾਮ ਨ ਆਵਤ ਹੈ ਤਿਹ ਤੇ ਅਤਿ ਹੀ ਦੁਖ ਭਯੋ ਬਰਨਿਯੋ ਨਹੀ ਜਾਈ ॥੯੫੪॥
sayaam na aavat hai tih te at hee dukh bhayo baraniyo nahee jaaee |954|Whatever agony she had in her mind, she talked about that to Udhava adding that Krishna was not coming and the suffering was indescribable.954.
ਊਧਵ ਉਤਰ ਦੇਤ ਭਯੋ ਅਤਿ ਬਿਯੋਗ ਮਨੇ ਅਪਨੇ ਸੋਊ ਕੈ ਹੈ ॥
aoodhav utar det bhayo at biyog mane apane soaoo kai hai |Udhava also extremely worred, talked thus amongst the gopis, that
ਗ੍ਵਾਰਨਿ ਕੇ ਮਨ ਮਧਿ ਬਿਖੈ ਕਬਿ ਸ੍ਯਾਮ ਕਹੈ ਜੋਊ ਬਾਤ ਰੁਚੈ ਹੈ ॥
gvaaran ke man madh bikhai kab sayaam kahai joaoo baat ruchai hai |Fearless Krishna would be meeting them within a few days
ਥੋਰੇ ਹੀ ਦ੍ਰਯੋਸਨ ਮੈ ਮਿਲਿ ਹੈ ਜਿਹ ਕੇ ਉਰ ਮੈ ਨ ਕਛੂ ਭ੍ਰਮ ਭੈ ਹੈ ॥
thore hee drayosan mai mil hai jih ke ur mai na kachhoo bhram bhai hai |Become like a Yogi and meditate on him
ਜੋਗਿਨ ਹੋਇ ਜਪੋ ਹਰਿ ਕੋ ਮੁਖ ਮਾਗਹੁਗੀ ਤੁਮ ਸੋ ਬਰੁ ਦੈ ਹੈ ॥੯੫੫॥
jogin hoe japo har ko mukh maagahugee tum so bar dai hai |955|He will grant you whatever boon you will ask him.955.
ਉਨ ਦੈ ਇਮ ਊਧਵ ਗ੍ਯਾਨ ਚਲਿਯੋ ਚਲਿ ਕੈ ਜਸੁਧਾ ਪਤਿ ਪੈ ਸੋਊ ਆਯੋ ॥
aun dai im aoodhav gayaan chaliyo chal kai jasudhaa pat pai soaoo aayo |After talking words of wisdom with the gopis, Udhava came to meet Nand
ਆਵਤ ਹੀ ਜਸੁਧਾ ਜਸੁਧਾ ਪਤਿ ਪਾਇਨ ਊਪਰ ਸੀਸ ਝੁਕਾਯੋ ॥
aavat hee jasudhaa jasudhaa pat paaein aoopar sees jhukaayo |Both Yashoda and Nand bowed their heads at his feet
ਸ੍ਯਾਮ ਹੀ ਸ੍ਯਾਮ ਸਦਾ ਕਹੀਯੋ ਕਹਿ ਕੈ ਇਹ ਮੋ ਪਹਿ ਕਾਨ੍ਰਹ ਪਠਾਯੋ ॥
sayaam hee sayaam sadaa kaheeyo keh kai ih mo peh kaanrah patthaayo |Udhava said to them, “Krishna has sent me to you to instruct you regarding the remembrance of the name of the Lord
ਯੌ ਕਹਿ ਕੈ ਰਥ ਪੈ ਚੜ ਕੈ ਰਥ ਕੋ ਮਥੁਰਾ ਹੀ ਕੀ ਓਰਿ ਚਲਾਯੋ ॥੯੫੬॥
yau keh kai rath pai charr kai rath ko mathuraa hee kee or chalaayo |956|” Saying this Udhava mounted on his chariot and started for Matura.956.
ਊਧਵ ਬਾਚ ਕਾਨ੍ਰਹ ਜੂ ਸੋ ॥
aoodhav baach kaanrah joo so |Speech of Udhava addressed to Krishna:

ਆਇ ਤਬੈ ਮਥੁਰਾ ਪੁਰ ਮੈ ਬਲਿਰਾਮ ਅਉ ਸ੍ਯਾਮ ਕੇ ਪਾਇ ਪਰਿਯੋ ॥
aae tabai mathuraa pur mai baliraam aau sayaam ke paae pariyo |
ਕਹਿਯੋ ਜੋ ਤੁਮ ਮੋ ਕਹਿ ਕੈ ਪਠਿਯੋ ਤਿਨ ਸੋ ਇਹ ਭਾਤਿ ਹੀ ਸੋ ਉਚਰਿਯੋ ॥
kahiyo jo tum mo keh kai patthiyo tin so ih bhaat hee so uchariyo |After reaching Mathura, Udhava bowed at the feet of Krishna and Balram and said, “O Krishna! whatever you had asked me to say, I have done accordingly
