ਸਕਤ ਨ ਕੋਈ ਪਛਾਨਿ ਕਰਿ ਚੰਚਲਾਨ ਕੇ ਕਾਜ ॥੧੧॥
sakat na koee pachhaan kar chanchalaan ke kaaj |11|No one could recognize the works of women. 11.

ਬੀਰ ਕੇਤੁ ਇਕ ਭੂਪ ਭਨਿਜੈ ॥

ਬੀਰਪੁਰੀ ਤਿਹ ਨਗਰ ਕਹਿਜੈ ॥
beerapuree tih nagar kahijai |The name of his town was Birpuri.
ਸ੍ਰੀ ਦਿਨ ਦੀਪਕ ਦੇ ਤਿਹ ਰਾਨੀ ॥
sree din deepak de tih raanee |Din Deepak's (Dei) was his queen.
ਸੁੰਦਰਿ ਭਵਨ ਚਤੁਰਦਸ ਜਾਨੀ ॥੧॥
sundar bhavan chaturadas jaanee |1|(She) was considered beautiful among fourteen people. 1.
ਰਾਇ ਗੁਮਾਨੀ ਤਹ ਇਕ ਛਤ੍ਰੀ ॥
raae gumaanee tah ik chhatree |There was a chhattri named Gumani Rai,
ਸੂਰਬੀਰ ਬਲਵਾਨ ਧਰਤ੍ਰੀ ॥
soorabeer balavaan dharatree |Who was chivalrous, strong and extraordinary.
ਇਕ ਸੁੰਦਰ ਅਰ ਚਤੁਰਾ ਮਹਾ ॥
eik sundar ar chaturaa mahaa |He was one handsome and the other clever,
ਜਿਹ ਸਮ ਉਪਜਾ ਕੋਈ ਨ ਕਹਾ ॥੨॥
jih sam upajaa koee na kahaa |2|No one like him was born anywhere. 2.
ਰਾਜ ਤਰੁਨਿ ਜਬ ਤਾਹਿ ਨਿਹਾਰਿਯੋ ॥
raaj tarun jab taeh nihaariyo |When the queen saw him (then she)
ਇਹੈ ਚੰਚਲਾ ਚਿਤ ਬਿਚਾਰਿਯੋ ॥
eihai chanchalaa chit bichaariyo |The woman thought in her mind.
ਕਹੋ ਚਰਿਤ੍ਰ ਕਵਨ ਸੋ ਕੀਜੈ ॥
kaho charitr kavan so keejai |Tell me what character to play,
ਜਿਹ ਬਿਧਿ ਪਿਯ ਸੌ ਭੋਗ ਕਰੀਜੈ ॥੩॥
jih bidh piy sau bhog kareejai |3|The method by which the union of the beloved can be achieved. 3.
ਬੀਰ ਮਤੀ ਇਕ ਸਖੀ ਸ੍ਯਾਨੀ ॥
beer matee ik sakhee sayaanee |(He) had a wise friend named Bir Mati.
ਕਾਨਿ ਲਾਗਿ ਭਾਖ੍ਯੋ ਤਿਹ ਰਾਨੀ ॥
kaan laag bhaakhayo tih raanee |Rani said to him close to his ear
ਰਾਇ ਗੁਮਾਨੀ ਕੌ ਲੈ ਕੈ ਆਇ ॥
raae gumaanee kau lai kai aae |Come with the opinion
ਜਿਹ ਤਿਹ ਬਿਧਿ ਮੁਹਿ ਦੇਹੁ ਮਿਲਾਇ ॥੪॥
jih tih bidh muhi dehu milaae |4|And how do you meet me. 4.
ਸਖੀ ਬ੍ਰਿਥਾ ਸਭ ਭਾਖਿ ਸੁਨਾਈ ॥
sakhee brithaa sabh bhaakh sunaaee |(That) Sakhi (went and told Gumani Rai) all the births.
ਜ੍ਯੋਂ ਰਾਨੀ ਕਹਿ ਤਾਹਿ ਸੁਨਾਈ ॥
jayon raanee keh taeh sunaaee |Just as the queen (had said) told him.
ਜਿਹ ਤਿਹ ਬਿਧਿ ਤਾ ਕਹ ਉਰਝਾਈ ॥
jih tih bidh taa kah urajhaaee |How to confuse him
ਆਨਿ ਕੁਅਰ ਕੌ ਦਯੋ ਮਿਲਾਈ ॥੫॥
aan kuar kau dayo milaaee |5|And brought it and joined the queen. 5.
ਭਾਤਿ ਭਾਤਿ ਤਿਹ ਸਾਥ ਬਿਹਾਰੀ ॥
bhaat bhaat tih saath bihaaree |(The queen) made love to him every now and then.
ਭੋਗ ਕਰਤ ਬੀਤੀ ਨਿਸੁ ਸਾਰੀ ॥
bhog karat beetee nis saaree |The whole night passed in combination.
ਤਬ ਲਗਿ ਆਇ ਗਯੋ ਤਹ ਰਾਜਾ ॥
tab lag aae gayo tah raajaa |By then the king came there.
ਇਹ ਬਿਧਿ ਚਰਿਤ ਚੰਚਲਾ ਸਾਜਾ ॥੬॥
eih bidh charit chanchalaa saajaa |6|So (that) woman played the character like this. 6.
ਤੀਛਨ ਖੜਗ ਹਾਥ ਮਹਿ ਲਯੋ ॥
teechhan kharrag haath meh layo |(He) took a sharp sword in his hand
ਲੈ ਮਿਤਹਿ ਕੇ ਸਿਰ ਮਹਿ ਦਯੋ ॥
lai miteh ke sir meh dayo |And took it and hit his friend on the head.
ਟੂਕ ਟੂਕ ਕਰਿ ਤਾ ਕੇ ਅੰਗਾ ॥
ttook ttook kar taa ke angaa |His limbs were torn to pieces
ਬਚਨ ਕਹਾ ਰਾਜਾ ਕੇ ਸੰਗਾ ॥੭॥
bachan kahaa raajaa ke sangaa |7|And said (thus) to the king.7.
ਚਲੋ ਭੂਪ ਇਕ ਚਰਿਤ ਦਿਖਾਊ ॥
chalo bhoop ik charit dikhaaoo |O Rajan! Let me show you a character
ਗੌਸ ਮਰਾਤਿਬ ਤੁਮੈ ਲਖਾਊ ॥
gauas maraatib tumai lakhaaoo |And show the (pir) attaining the rank of Gaunce. (Specific: Such elders who are said to separate their body parts in a meditative state).
ਰਾਇ ਚਰਿਤ ਕਛਹੂੰ ਨ ਬਿਚਾਰਿਯੋ ॥
raae charit kachhahoon na bichaariyo |The king thought nothing of the character
ਮ੍ਰਿਤਕ ਪਰਾ ਤਿਹ ਮਿਤ੍ਰ ਨਿਹਾਰਿਯੋ ॥੮॥
mritak paraa tih mitr nihaariyo |8|And (there) saw his dead friend.8.
ਤਾ ਕੌ ਗੌਸ ਕੁਤੁਬ ਕਰਿ ਮਾਨਾ ॥
taa kau gauas kutub kar maanaa |He (the king) accepted him as Gauns Qutb Peer.
ਭੇਦ ਅਭੇਦ ਨ ਮੂੜ ਪਛਾਨਾ ॥
bhed abhed na moorr pachhaanaa |(That) fool did not understand the difference.
ਤ੍ਰਸਤ ਹਾਥ ਤਾ ਕੌ ਨ ਲਗਾਯੋ ॥
trasat haath taa kau na lagaayo |Don't touch him for fear
ਪੀਰ ਪਛਾਨਿ ਜਾਰ ਫਿਰ ਆਯੋ ॥੯॥
peer pachhaan jaar fir aayo |9|And came back mistaking the friend for a peer. 9.
ਦੋਹਰਾ ॥
doharaa |dual:
ਪ੍ਰਥਮ ਭੋਗ ਤਾ ਸੌ ਕਿਯਾ ਬਹੁਰੋ ਦਿਯਾ ਸੰਘਾਰਿ ॥
pratham bhog taa sau kiyaa bahuro diyaa sanghaar |First consorted with him and then killed him.
ਮੂੜ ਭੂਪ ਇਹ ਛਲ ਛਲਾ ਸਕਾ ਨ ਭੇਦ ਬਿਚਾਰ ॥੧੦॥
moorr bhoop ih chhal chhalaa sakaa na bhed bichaar |10|The foolish king was fooled by this trick and could not consider the secret. 10.

ਚੰਦ੍ਰ ਸੈਨ ਤਿਹ ਨਾਮ ਕਹਿਜੈ ॥
chandr sain tih naam kahijai |His name was Chandra Sen.
ਸ੍ਰੀ ਜਗ ਮੋਹਨ ਦੇ ਤਿਹ ਨਾਰਿ ॥
sree jag mohan de tih naar |Jagmohan's (dei) was his queen.
ਘੜੀ ਆਪੁ ਜਨੁ ਬ੍ਰਹਮ ਸੁ ਨਾਰ ॥੧॥
gharree aap jan braham su naar |1|(She was so beautiful) as if the lady herself had made that woman. 1.
