ਦਿਗ਼ਰ ਰੋਜ਼ ਰਫ਼ਤੰਦ ਜ਼ਉਜਹ ਫਲਾ ॥
digar roz rafatand zaujah falaa |The same wife went to (the king) next day and said,
ਮਰਾ ਖ਼ਾਬ ਦਾਦਹ ਬਜ਼ੁਰਗੇ ਹੁਮਾ ॥੪੦॥
maraa khaab daadah bazurage humaa |40|‘In my dream I had a vision of a pious man,(40)
ਤੁਰਾ ਮਨ ਕਿ ਫ਼ਰਜ਼ੰਦ ਬਖ਼ਸ਼ੀਦਹਅਮ ॥
turaa man ki farazand bakhasheedaham |‘(Who said), “I have endowed you the son,
ਚਰਾਗ਼ੇ ਕਯਾਰਾ ਦਰਖ਼ਸ਼ੀਦਹਅਮ ॥੪੧॥
charaage kayaaraa darakhasheedaham |41|‘“I have done so to edify the glory of Kian Clan.’”(41)
ਜ਼ਿ ਗੰਜੋ ਜ਼ਰ ਸ਼ ਗੌਹਰੋ ਤਖ਼ਤ ਦਾਦ ॥
zi ganjo zar sh gauaharo takhat daad |The king kept the boy at home and
ਵਜ਼ਾ ਪਿਸਰ ਰਾ ਖ਼ਾਨਹੇ ਖ਼ੁਦ ਨਿਹਾਦ ॥੪੨॥
vazaa pisar raa khaanahe khud nihaad |42|Gave him the treasure, gold, diamond and the throne,(42)
ਬ ਗੁਫ਼ਤਸ਼ ਕਿ ਈਂ ਰਾ ਜ਼ਿ ਦਰੀਆਫ਼ਤਮ ॥
b gufatash ki een raa zi dareeaafatam |And said, ‘As I have secured him through the river,
ਕਿ ਦਾਰਾਬ ਨਾਮਸ਼ ਅਜ਼ੋ ਸਾਖ਼ਤਮ ॥੪੩॥
ki daaraab naamash azo saakhatam |43|‘I name him, Darab (the river).(43)
ਕਿ ਸ਼ਾਹੀ ਜਹਾ ਰਾ ਬਦੋ ਮੇ ਦਿਹੰਮ ॥
ki shaahee jahaa raa bado me diham |‘I bestow upon him the temporal kingdom,
ਵਜ਼ਾ ਤਾਜ ਇਕਬਾਲ ਬਰ ਸਰ ਨਿਹਮ ॥੪੪॥
vazaa taaj ikabaal bar sar niham |44|‘And I crown him with regal honour and imperial fly-whisk.(44)
ਮਰਾ ਖ਼ੁਸ਼ ਤਰ ਆਮਦ ਅਜ਼ਾ ਸੂਰਤਸ਼ ॥
maraa khush tar aamad azaa sooratash |‘I admire his status,
ਕਿ ਹੁਸਨਲ ਜਮਾਲ ਅਸਤ ਖ਼ੁਸ਼ ਸੂਰਤਸ਼ ॥੪੫॥
ki husanal jamaal asat khush sooratash |45|‘Because his posture is majestic.”(45)
ਕਿ ਅਜ਼ ਸ਼ਾਹਿ ਓ ਚੂੰ ਖ਼ਬਰ ਯਾਫ਼ਤਸ਼ ॥
ki az shaeh o choon khabar yaafatash |(The washerwoman) learned, as well, that he had become a king,
ਕਿ ਦਾਰਾਬ ਨਾਮੇ ਮੁਕਰਰਾ ਸ਼ੁਦਸ਼ ॥੪੬॥
ki daaraab naame mukararaa shudash |46|And that he was given the name, Darab.(46)
ਅਜ਼ਾ ਸ਼ੇਰ ਸ਼ੁਦ ਸ਼ਾਹਿ ਦਾਰਾਇ ਦੀਂ ॥
azaa sher shud shaeh daaraae deen |The gallant one promoted the righteous rule,
ਹਕੀਕਤ ਸ਼ਨਾਸ ਅਸਤੁ ਐਨੁਲ ਯਕੀਂ ॥੪੭॥
hakeekat shanaas asat aainul yakeen |47|Because he was the seeker of truth, and he believed in virtuosity.(47)
ਬਿਦਿਹ ਸਾਕੀਯਾ ਸਾਗ਼ਰੇ ਸੁਰਖ਼ ਫ਼ਾਮ ॥
bidih saakeeyaa saagare surakh faam |(The poet says,) ‘Oh! Saki, give me green wine to drink,
ਕਿ ਮਾਰਾ ਬ ਕਾਰ ਅਸਤ ਵਕਤੇ ਮੁਦਾਮ ॥੪੮॥
ki maaraa b kaar asat vakate mudaam |48|‘Because the Master is intelligent enough, and is known all over.(48)
ਬਿਦਿਹ ਪਿਯਾਲਹ ਫ਼ੇਰੋਜ਼ ਰੰਗੀਨ ਰੰਗ ॥
bidih piyaalah feroz rangeen rang |‘Saki! Give me the cup full of greenish (liquid),
ਕਿ ਮਾਰਾ ਖ਼ੁਸ਼ ਆਮਦ ਬਸੇ ਵਕਤ ਜੰਗ ॥੪੯॥੭॥
ki maaraa khush aamad base vakat jang |49|7|‘Which soothes during the wars and the lonely nights.’(49)
ੴ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਜੀ ਕੀ ਫ਼ਤਹ ॥
ik oankaar vaahiguroo jee kee fatah |The Lord is One and the Victory is of the True Guru.
ਖ਼ੁਦਾਵੰਦ ਬਖ਼ਸ਼ਿੰਦਹੇ ਦਿਲ ਕਰਾਰ ॥
khudaavand bakhashindahe dil karaar |God endows tranquillity,
ਰਜ਼ਾ ਬਖ਼ਸ਼ ਰੋਜ਼ੀ ਦਿਹੋ ਨੌਬਹਾਰ ॥੧॥
razaa bakhash rozee diho nauabahaar |1|He grants the will to believe, provides living and contentment.(1)
ਕਿ ਮੀਰ ਅਸਤ ਪੀਰ ਅਸਤ ਹਰ ਦੋ ਜਹਾ ॥
ki meer asat peer asat har do jahaa |He is Sovereign of both the worlds,
