ਤ੍ਰਿਯ ਆਗੇ ਪਤਿ ਜਿਯਤ ਤਿਹਾਰਾ ॥
triy aage pat jiyat tihaaraa |O woman! Your next husband is alive.
ਜੌ ਤੌ ਪ੍ਰਥਮ ਕਾਜਿਯਹਿ ਮਾਰੈ ॥
jau tau pratham kaajiyeh maarai |If you kill Qazi first,
ਤਿਹ ਪਾਛੇ ਮੁਹਿ ਸੰਗਿ ਬਿਹਾਰੈ ॥੪॥
tih paachhe muhi sang bihaarai |4|(Then) deal with me after that. 4.
ਸੁਨਿ ਸਹਚਰਿ ਤਿਹ ਜਾਇ ਜਤਾਈ ॥
sun sahachar tih jaae jataaee |After hearing (this), Sakhi told him
ਨ੍ਰਿਪ ਹਮ ਕੋ ਇਮਿ ਭਾਖ ਸੁਨਾਈ ॥
nrip ham ko im bhaakh sunaaee |That the king has told me thus.
ਜੌ ਤੈ ਪ੍ਰਥਮ ਕਾਜਿਯਹਿ ਘਾਵੈ ॥
jau tai pratham kaajiyeh ghaavai |If you kill Qazi first,
ਤਿਹ ਉਪਰਾਤ ਬਹੁਰਿ ਮੁਹਿ ਪਾਵੈ ॥੫॥
tih uparaat bahur muhi paavai |5|After that get me again. 5.
ਸੁਨਿ ਤ੍ਰਿਯ ਬਾਤ ਚਿਤ ਮਹਿ ਰਾਖੀ ॥
sun triy baat chit meh raakhee |(That) woman heard this and kept it in her mind
ਔਰ ਨ ਕਿਸੀ ਔਰਤਹਿ ਭਾਖੀ ॥
aauar na kisee aauarateh bhaakhee |And did not share with any other woman.
ਰੈਨਿ ਸਮੈ ਕਾਜੀ ਜਬ ਆਯੋ ॥
rain samai kaajee jab aayo |At night when the Qazi came
ਕਾਢਿ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾਨ ਸੋਵਤਹਿ ਘਾਯੋ ॥੬॥
kaadt kripaan sovateh ghaayo |6|So he took out his sword and killed the sleeping one. 6.
ਤਾ ਕੋ ਕਾਟਿ ਮੂੰਡ ਕਰਿ ਲਿਯੋ ॥
taa ko kaatt moondd kar liyo |Cut off his head
ਲੈ ਰਾਜਾ ਕੇ ਹਾਜਰ ਕਿਯੋ ॥
lai raajaa ke haajar kiyo |and presented (before) the king.
ਤਵ ਨਿਮਿਤ ਕਾਜੀ ਮੈ ਘਾਯੋ ॥
tav nimit kaajee mai ghaayo |(And began to say) I have killed the Qazi for you.
ਅਬ ਮੁਹਿ ਸੰਗ ਕਰੋ ਮਨ ਭਾਯੋ ॥੭॥
ab muhi sang karo man bhaayo |7|Now enjoy with me as much as you want.7.
ਜਬ ਸਿਰ ਨਿਰਖਿ ਨ੍ਰਿਪਤਿ ਤਿਹ ਲਯੋ ॥
jab sir nirakh nripat tih layo |When the king saw his head
ਮਨ ਕੇ ਬਿਖੈ ਅਧਿਕ ਡਰ ਪਯੋ ॥
man ke bikhai adhik ddar payo |So there was a lot of fear in my mind.
ਪਤਿ ਮਾਰਤ ਜਿਹ ਲਗੀ ਨ ਬਾਰਾ ॥
pat maarat jih lagee na baaraa |(Thinking that) who did not take long to kill her husband,
ਕਾ ਉਪਪਤਿ ਤਿਹ ਅਗ੍ਰ ਬਿਚਾਰਾ ॥੮॥
kaa upapat tih agr bichaaraa |8|So what is the consideration of a sub-husband (lover) in front of him. 8.
ਧਿਕ ਧਿਕ ਬਚ ਤਿਹ ਤ੍ਰਿਯਹ ਉਚਾਰਾ ॥
dhik dhik bach tih triyah uchaaraa |He said the words of 'Dhikar Dhikar' to (that) woman
ਭੋਗ ਕਰਬ ਮੈ ਤਜਾ ਤਿਹਾਰਾ ॥
bhog karab mai tajaa tihaaraa |(And then said) I have given up indulging you.
ਤ੍ਰਿਯ ਪਾਪਨਿ ਤੈ ਭਰਤਾ ਘਾਯੋ ॥
triy paapan tai bharataa ghaayo |O sinful woman! You have killed your husband,
ਤਾ ਤੇ ਮੋਹਿ ਅਧਿਕ ਡਰ ਆਯੋ ॥੯॥
taa te mohi adhik ddar aayo |9|That is why I am very afraid. 9.
ਅਬ ਤੈ ਜਾਹਿ ਪਾਪਨੀ ਤਹੀ ॥
ab tai jaeh paapanee tahee |O sinner! now you go there
ਨਿਜ ਕਰ ਨਾਥ ਸੰਘਾਰਾ ਜਹੀ ॥
nij kar naath sanghaaraa jahee |Where you have killed your husband with your own hand.
ਅਬ ਤੇਰੋ ਸਭ ਹੀ ਧ੍ਰਿਗ ਸਾਜਾ ॥
ab tero sabh hee dhrig saajaa |Now all your makeup is damned.
ਅਬ ਹੀ ਲਗਿ ਜੀਵਤ ਨਿਰਲਾਜਾ ॥੧੦॥
ab hee lag jeevat niralaajaa |10|O shameless! You are still alive. 10.
ਦੋਹਰਾ ॥
doharaa |dual:
ਹਿਤ ਮੇਰੇ ਜਿਨ ਪਤਿ ਹਨਾ ਕੀਨਾ ਬਡਾ ਕੁਕਾਜ ॥
hit mere jin pat hanaa keenaa baddaa kukaaj |For me who has done a very bad thing by killing her husband,
ਜਮਧਰ ਮਾਰਿ ਨ ਮਰਤ ਹੈ ਅਬ ਲੌ ਜਿਯਤ ਨਿਲਾਜ ॥੧੧॥
jamadhar maar na marat hai ab lau jiyat nilaaj |11|(She) doesn't (why) die by stabbing (stabbing) and still lives fearlessly. 11.

ਸੁਨਤ ਬਚਨ ਏ ਨਾਰਿ ਰਿਸਾਈ ॥
sunat bachan e naar risaaee |Hearing these words (she) the woman became very angry
ਲਜਿਤ ਭਈ ਘਰ ਕੋ ਫਿਰੀ ਆਈ ॥
lajit bhee ghar ko firee aaee |And shyly returned home.
ਪਤਿ ਕੋ ਮੂੰਡ ਤਿਸੀ ਘਰ ਡਾਰਾ ॥
pat ko moondd tisee ghar ddaaraa |The husband's head was left in the same (king's) house
ਆਇ ਧਾਮ ਇਸ ਭਾਤਿ ਪੁਕਾਰਾ ॥੧੨॥
aae dhaam is bhaat pukaaraa |12|And came home and started calling like this. 12.
ਪ੍ਰਾਤ ਭਏ ਸਭ ਲੋਗ ਬੁਲਾਏ ॥
praat bhe sabh log bulaae |All the people were called in the morning
ਸਭਹਿਨ ਕਾਜੀ ਮ੍ਰਿਤਕ ਦਿਖਾਏ ॥
sabhahin kaajee mritak dikhaae |And showed everyone the dead Kazi.
ਸ੍ਰੋਨਤ ਧਾਰ ਪਰਤ ਜਿਹ ਗਈ ॥
sronat dhaar parat jih gee |Where the blood stream was lying,
ਸੋ ਮਗੁ ਹ੍ਵੈ ਕਰਿ ਖੋਜਤ ਭਈ ॥੧੩॥
so mag hvai kar khojat bhee |13|She started to search on the same path. 13.
ਜਹ ਜਹ ਜਾਇ ਸ੍ਰੋਨ ਕੀ ਧਾਰਾ ॥
jah jah jaae sron kee dhaaraa |Wherever the stream of blood went,
ਤਿਹ ਹੇਰਤ ਜਨ ਚਲੇ ਅਪਾਰਾ ॥
tih herat jan chale apaaraa |Many people went looking at him.
ਤਹ ਸਭਹੂੰ ਲੈ ਠਾਢੋ ਕੀਨਾ ॥
tah sabhahoon lai tthaadto keenaa |Everyone stood there
ਜਹ ਨਿਜੁ ਹਾਥ ਡਾਰਿ ਸਿਰ ਦੀਨਾ ॥੧੪॥
jah nij haath ddaar sir deenaa |14|Where (he) fell the head (of Qazi) with his hand. 14.
ਮੂੰਡ ਕਟ੍ਯੋ ਸਭਹਿਨ ਲਖਿ ਪਾਯੋ ॥
moondd kattayo sabhahin lakh paayo |Everyone saw the severed head
ਇਹ ਕਾਜੀ ਯਾਹੀ ਨ੍ਰਿਪ ਘਾਯੋ ॥
eih kaajee yaahee nrip ghaayo |(And thought that) this king had murdered the Qazi.
ਤਾ ਕਹ ਬਾਧਿ ਲੈ ਗਏ ਤਹਾ ॥
taa kah baadh lai ge tahaa |They tied him up and took him there.
ਜਹਾਗੀਰ ਬੈਠਾ ਥੋ ਜਹਾ ॥੧੫॥
jahaageer baitthaa tho jahaa |15|Where Jahangir was sitting (by holding a court). 15.
ਸਭ ਬ੍ਰਿਤਾਤ ਕਹਿ ਪ੍ਰਥਮ ਸੁਨਾਯੋ ॥
