There was a wise king (of the place) named Birh Sen.
(In his) house was a woman named Birh Dei,
Which is like a flame of fire. 1.
He was said to have a daughter named Iska (Dei).
Whose image was likened to sun and moon.
There was no other woman like her.
That woman was like herself. 2.
Such was the beauty of her body
That even Sachi and Parbati was not like her (in beauty).
She was famous all over the world as a beauty.
(She) was also loved by Yakshas and Gandharvas. 3.
There lived a giant called Kanchan Sen.
(He was) very strong, handsome and sharp.
He made all the demons nishkantaka (free from suffering).
Whoever was strong in front of him, killed him. 4.
He used to come to that town at midnight
And would eat a human every day.
There was a lot of worry in everyone's mind.
(All) the wise sit and think. 5.
This monster is very strong
Who eats many people day and night.
He does not fear anyone
And he meditates fearlessly in his mind. 6.
There lived a prostitute in that town.
Where the giants used to eat the people of the land.
That woman (prostitute) came to the king
And seeing the beauty of the king, she became fascinated.7.
He spoke thus to the king
That if you keep me in your palace
So I will kill the giant
And will remove all the sorrow of this city. 8.
(Answered the king) Then I will carry you home,
O woman! When you kill the giant
The country and all the people will live happily
And all the sorrows of the people's minds will be removed. 9.
