ਜਹ ਮੂਰਖ ਨਹਿ ਸੂਝਤ ਚਾਲਾ ॥੪੯॥
jah moorakh neh soojhat chaalaa |49|

The fool who does not know the situation. 49.

ਇਹ ਬਿਧਿ ਭਾਖਿ ਖਾਨ ਸਭ ਧਾਏ ॥
eih bidh bhaakh khaan sabh dhaae |

Saying this, all the Pathans came running

ਬਾਧੇ ਚੁੰਗ ਚੌਪ ਤਨ ਆਏ ॥
baadhe chung chauap tan aae |

And they came with bodies (filled) with chao in groups.

ਸਮਸਦੀਨ ਲਛਿਮਨ ਜਹ ਘਾਯੋ ॥
samasadeen lachhiman jah ghaayo |

Where Shamsdin was killed by Lachman,

ਤਿਹ ਠਾ ਸਕਲ ਸੈਨ ਮਿਲਿ ਆਯੋ ॥੫੦॥
tih tthaa sakal sain mil aayo |50|

The whole army came together at that place. 50.

ਲੋਦੀ ਸੂਰ ਨਯਾਜੀ ਚਲੇ ॥
lodee soor nayaajee chale |

Lodi, Sur (a caste of Pathans) Niazi

ਲੀਨੇ ਸੰਗ ਸੂਰਮਾ ਭਲੇ ॥
leene sang sooramaa bhale |

They took good warriors with them.

ਦਾਓਜਈ ਰੁਹੇਲੇ ਆਏ ॥
daaojee ruhele aae |

(besides these) the Daozai (a branch of the 'Daudzai' Pathans) the Ruhele,

ਆਫਰੀਦਿਯਨ ਤੁਰੈ ਨਚਾਏ ॥੫੧॥
aafareediyan turai nachaae |51|

Afiridi (Pathans) also danced (their) horses. 51.

ਦੋਹਰਾ ॥

ਬਾਵਨ ਖੇਲ ਪਠਾਨ ਤਹ ਸਭੈ ਪਰੇ ਅਰਿਰਾਇ ॥
baavan khel patthaan tah sabhai pare ariraae |

Bawan Khel Pathans (Pathans of fifty-two clans) all fell down there.

ਭਾਤਿ ਭਾਤਿ ਬਾਨਾ ਬਧੇ ਗਨਨਾ ਗਨੀ ਨ ਜਾਇ ॥੫੨॥
bhaat bhaat baanaa badhe gananaa ganee na jaae |52|

(They) were decorated with various fabrics, which cannot be counted. 52.

ਪਖਰਿਯਾਰੇ ਦ੍ਵਾਰਨ ਨਹਿ ਮਾਵੈ ॥
pakhariyaare dvaaran neh maavai |

Horsemen were not staying at the gate.

ਜਹਾ ਤਹਾ ਭਟ ਤੁਰੰਗ ਨਚਾਵੈ ॥
jahaa tahaa bhatt turang nachaavai |

The warriors where the horses were dancing.

ਬਾਨਨ ਕੀ ਆਂਧੀ ਤਹ ਆਈ ॥
baanan kee aandhee tah aaee |

There came a storm of arrows,

ਹਾਥ ਪਸਾਰਾ ਲਖਾ ਨ ਜਾਈ ॥੫੩॥
haath pasaaraa lakhaa na jaaee |53|

(Because of which) he could not see even when he stretched out his hands. 53.

ਇਹ ਬਿਧਿ ਸੋਰ ਨਗਰ ਮੈ ਪਯੋ ॥
eih bidh sor nagar mai payo |

Thus there was a noise in the city. (starts to appear)

ਜਨੁ ਰਵਿ ਉਲਟਿ ਪਲਟ ਹ੍ਵੈ ਗਯੋ ॥
jan rav ulatt palatt hvai gayo |

As if the sun had turned upside down,

ਜੈਸੇ ਜਲਧਿ ਬਾਰਿ ਪਰਹਰੈ ॥
jaise jaladh baar paraharai |

Or as the sea swells the water (meaning the tide has come)

ਉਛਰਿ ਉਛਰਿ ਮਛਰੀ ਜ੍ਯੋਂ ਮਰੈ ॥੫੪॥
auchhar uchhar machharee jayon marai |54|

Or as the fishes are jumping and dying. 54.

ਜਿਹ ਬਿਧਿ ਨਾਵ ਨਦੀ ਕੀ ਧਾਰਾ ॥
jih bidh naav nadee kee dhaaraa |

Like a boat in a river stream

ਬਹੀ ਜਾਤ ਕੋਊ ਨਹਿ ਰਖਵਾਰਾ ॥
bahee jaat koaoo neh rakhavaaraa |

is drifting away and there is no custodian.

ਤੈਸੀ ਦਸਾ ਨਗਰ ਕੀ ਭਈ ॥
taisee dasaa nagar kee bhee |

That is how the condition of the city became.

ਜਨੁ ਬਿਨੁ ਸਕ੍ਰ ਸਚੀ ਹ੍ਵੈ ਗਈ ॥੫੫॥
jan bin sakr sachee hvai gee |55|

(It looked like this) as if Sachi had become without Indra. 55.

ਦੋਹਰਾ ॥

ਇਹਿ ਦਿਸਿ ਸਭ ਛਤ੍ਰੀ ਚੜੇ ਉਹਿ ਦਿਸਿ ਚੜੇ ਪਠਾਨ ॥
eihi dis sabh chhatree charre uhi dis charre patthaan |

From this side all the Chhatris had ascended and from that side the Pathans ascended.

ਸੁਨਹੁ ਸੰਤ ਚਿਤ ਦੈ ਸਭੈ ਜਿਹ ਬਿਧਿ ਭਯੋ ਨਿਦਾਨ ॥੫੬॥
sunahu sant chit dai sabhai jih bidh bhayo nidaan |56|

O Saints! Listen with all your heart, the way (all the noisy drunkenness) ended. 56.

ਭੁਜੰਗ ਪ੍ਰਯਾਤ ਛੰਦ ॥
bhujang prayaat chhand |

Bhujang Prayat Verse:

ਜਬੈ ਜੋਰਿ ਬਾਨਾ ਅਨੀ ਖਾਨ ਆਏ ॥
jabai jor baanaa anee khaan aae |

When the army of Pathans came with bows and arrows

ਇਤੈ ਛੋਭਿ ਛਤ੍ਰੀ ਸਭੈ ਬੀਰ ਧਾਏ ॥
eitai chhobh chhatree sabhai beer dhaae |

So from here all Chhatri warriors came up in anger.

ਚਲੇ ਬਾਨ ਐਸੇ ਦੁਹੂੰ ਓਰ ਭਾਰੇ ॥
chale baan aaise duhoon or bhaare |

Such heavy arrows went from both sides

ਲਗੈ ਅੰਗ ਜਾ ਕੇ ਨ ਜਾਹੀ ਨਿਕਾਰੇ ॥੫੭॥
lagai ang jaa ke na jaahee nikaare |57|

That which is stuck in the body, (then) cannot be removed. 57.

ਤਬੈ ਲਛਿਮਨ ਕੁਮਾਰ ਜੂ ਕੋਪ ਕੈ ਕੈ ॥
tabai lachhiman kumaar joo kop kai kai |

Then Lachman Kumar got angry

ਹਨੇ ਖਾਨ ਬਾਨੀ ਸਭੈ ਸਸਤ੍ਰ ਲੈ ਕੈ ॥
hane khaan baanee sabhai sasatr lai kai |

Mukhi ('Bani') killed the Pathans with weapons.

ਕਿਤੇ ਖੇਤ ਮਾਰੇ ਪਰੇ ਬੀਰ ਐਸੇ ॥
kite khet maare pare beer aaise |

Somewhere the heroes were lying dead like this in the battlefield

ਬਿਰਾਜੈ ਕਟੇ ਇੰਦ੍ਰ ਕੇ ਕੇਤੁ ਜੈਸੇ ॥੫੮॥
biraajai katte indr ke ket jaise |58|

Just as Indra's flags are cut. 58.

ਪੀਏ ਜਾਨੁ ਭੰਗੈ ਮਲੰਗੈ ਪਰੇ ਹੈ ॥
pee jaan bhangai malangai pare hai |

(They looked like this while lying on the battlefield) as if Malang was lying down after drinking bhang.

ਕਹੂੰ ਕੋਟਿ ਸੌਡੀਨ ਸੀਸੈ ਝਰੇ ਹੈ ॥
kahoon kott sauaddeen seesai jhare hai |

Many elephants' heads had fallen somewhere.

ਕਹੂੰ ਉਸਟ ਮਾਰੇ ਸੁ ਲੈ ਭੂਮਿ ਤੋਪੈ ॥
kahoon usatt maare su lai bhoom topai |

Somewhere, the camels that were killed looked familiar in the battlefield.

ਕਹੂੰ ਖੇਤ ਖਾਡੇ ਲਸੈ ਨਗਨ ਧੋਪੈ ॥੫੯॥
kahoon khet khaadde lasai nagan dhopai |59|

Somewhere in the battlefield, bare swords and swords were waving. 59.

ਕਹੂੰ ਬਾਨ ਕਾਟੇ ਪਰੇ ਭੂਮਿ ਐਸੇ ॥
kahoon baan kaatte pare bhoom aaise |

Somewhere cut by arrows (heroes) were lying on the ground like this

ਬੁਯੋ ਕੋ ਕ੍ਰਿਸਾਨੈ ਕਢੇ ਈਖ ਜੈਸੇ ॥
buyo ko krisaanai kadte eekh jaise |

As the farmer has harvested sugarcane (bunches) for sowing.

ਕਹੂੰ ਲਹਿਲਹੈ ਪੇਟ ਮੈ ਯੌ ਕਟਾਰੀ ॥
kahoon lahilahai pett mai yau kattaaree |

Somewhere in the stomach the sting was shining like this,

ਮਨੋ ਮਛ ਸੋਹੈ ਬਧੇ ਬੀਚ ਜਾਰੀ ॥੬੦॥
mano machh sohai badhe beech jaaree |60|

As if a fish caught in a net is enjoying itself. 60.

ਕਿਤੈ ਪੇਟ ਪਾਟੇ ਪਰੇ ਖੇਤ ਬਾਜੀ ॥
kitai pett paatte pare khet baajee |

Somewhere in the battlefield lay horses with torn bellies.

ਕਹੂੰ ਮਤ ਦੰਤੀ ਫਿਰੈ ਛੂਛ ਤਾਜੀ ॥
kahoon mat dantee firai chhoochh taajee |

Somewhere there were wild elephants and horses that were tired of their riders.

ਕਹੂੰ ਮੂੰਡ ਮਾਲੀ ਪੁਐ ਮੁੰਡ ਮਾਲਾ ॥
kahoon moondd maalee puaai mundd maalaa |

Somewhere Shiva ('Moond Mali') was offering a garland of heads.
