ਕਾਛਨੀ ਸੁਰੰਗੰ ਛਬਿ ਅੰਗ ਅੰਗੰ ਲਜਤ ਅਨੰਗੰ ਲਖ ਰੂਪੰ ॥
kaachhanee surangan chhab ang angan lajat anangan lakh roopan |

Seeing the beauty of these heavenly damsels, who were wearing elegantly coloured raiments, t

ਸਾਇਕ ਦ੍ਰਿਗ ਹਰਣੀ ਕੁਮਤ ਪ੍ਰਜਰਣੀ ਬਰਬਰ ਬਰਣੀ ਬੁਧ ਕੂਪੰ ॥੫੯੧॥
saaeik drig haranee kumat prajaranee barabar baranee budh koopan |591|

He cupid was felling shy and these were the intellingent heavenly damsels, doe-eyed, destroyers of bad intellect and wedders of mighty warriors.591.

KALAS

ਕਮਲ ਬਦਨ ਸਾਇਕ ਮ੍ਰਿਗ ਨੈਣੀ ॥
kamal badan saaeik mrig nainee |

(They have) lotus-like (beautiful) faces, arrows (sharp like) and deer (beautiful like) noses.

ਰੂਪ ਰਾਸ ਸੁੰਦਰ ਪਿਕ ਬੈਣੀ ॥
roop raas sundar pik bainee |

Their faces were like lotus, eyes like deer and utterance like nightingale, these heavenly damsels were stores of elegance

ਮ੍ਰਿਗਪਤ ਕਟ ਛਾਜਤ ਗਜ ਗੈਣੀ ॥
mrigapat katt chhaajat gaj gainee |

Lion-like (slender) with the beauty of the face and the gait of an elephant,

ਨੈਨ ਕਟਾਛ ਮਨਹਿ ਹਰ ਲੈਣੀ ॥੫੯੨॥
nain kattaachh maneh har lainee |592|

With gait of elephants, with slim waists of lion and were captivators of mind with the side glances of their eyes.592.

TRIBHANGI STANZA

ਸੁੰਦਰ ਮ੍ਰਿਗ ਨੈਣੀ ਸੁਰ ਪਿਕ ਬੈਣੀ ਚਿਤ ਹਰ ਲੈਣੀ ਗਜ ਗੈਣੰ ॥
sundar mrig nainee sur pik bainee chit har lainee gaj gainan |

They have splendid eyes, their utterance is sweet like nightingale and they captivate the mind like the gait of the elephant

ਮਾਧੁਰ ਬਿਧਿ ਬਦਨੀ ਸੁਬੁਧਿਨ ਸਦਨੀ ਕੁਮਤਿਨ ਕਦਨੀ ਛਬਿ ਮੈਣੰ ॥
maadhur bidh badanee subudhin sadanee kumatin kadanee chhab mainan |

They are all-pervading, have charming faces, with elegance of the god of love, they are the store-house of good intellect, the destroyer of evil intellect,

ਅੰਗਕਾ ਸੁਰੰਗੀ ਨਟਵਰ ਰੰਗੀ ਝਾਝ ਉਤੰਗੀ ਪਗ ਧਾਰੰ ॥
angakaa surangee nattavar rangee jhaajh utangee pag dhaaran |

Have godly limbs they stand slantingly on one side, wear anklets in their feet,

ਬੇਸਰ ਗਜਰਾਰੰ ਪਹੂਚ ਅਪਾਰੰ ਕਚਿ ਘੁੰਘਰਾਰੰ ਆਹਾਰੰ ॥੫੯੩॥
besar gajaraaran pahooch apaaran kach ghungharaaran aahaaran |593|

Ivory-ornament in their nose and have black curly hair.593.

ਚਿਬਕ ਚਾਰ ਸੁੰਦਰ ਛਬਿ ਧਾਰੰ ॥
chibak chaar sundar chhab dhaaran |

A beautiful image is painted on the beautiful chins.

ਠਉਰ ਠਉਰ ਮੁਕਤਨ ਕੇ ਹਾਰੰ ॥
tthaur tthaur mukatan ke haaran |

These heavenly damsels of elegant cheeks and unique beauty, have wreaths of gems on various parts of their bodies

ਕਰ ਕੰਗਨ ਪਹੁਚੀ ਉਜਿਆਰੰ ॥
kar kangan pahuchee ujiaaran |

The bracelets in the hands are shining.

ਨਿਰਖ ਮਦਨ ਦੁਤ ਹੋਤ ਸੁ ਮਾਰੰ ॥੫੯੪॥
nirakh madan dut hot su maaran |594|

The bracelets of their hands are spreading brightness and seeing such elegance the beauty of the god of love is getting dim.594.

TRIBHANGI STANZA

ਸੋਭਿਤ ਛਬਿ ਧਾਰੰ ਕਚ ਘੁੰਘਰਾਰੰ ਰਸਨ ਰਸਾਰੰ ਉਜਿਆਰੰ ॥
sobhit chhab dhaaran kach ghungharaaran rasan rasaaran ujiaaran |

The image of cases with coils is adorning. The tongues are full of juice.

ਪਹੁੰਚੀ ਗਜਰਾਰੰ ਸੁਬਿਧ ਸੁਧਾਰੰ ਮੁਕਤ ਨਿਹਾਰੰ ਉਰ ਧਾਰੰ ॥
pahunchee gajaraaran subidh sudhaaran mukat nihaaran ur dhaaran |

With black hair sweet speech they appear very impressive and moving freely, they are roaming within the jostling of the elephants.

ਸੋਹਤ ਚਖ ਚਾਰੰ ਰੰਗ ਰੰਗਾਰੰ ਬਿਬਿਧ ਪ੍ਰਕਾਰੰ ਅਤਿ ਆਂਜੇ ॥
sohat chakh chaaran rang rangaaran bibidh prakaaran at aanje |

Beautiful eyes are adorning. Which are decorated with kajlas and surmas of various colors.

ਬਿਖ ਧਰ ਮ੍ਰਿਗ ਜੈਸੇ ਜਲ ਜਨ ਵੈਸੇ ਸਸੀਅਰ ਜੈਸੇ ਸਰ ਮਾਜੇ ॥੫੯੫॥
bikh dhar mrig jaise jal jan vaise saseear jaise sar maaje |595|

With antimony in their eyes and dyed in various coulurs they look splendid with their beautiful eyes. In this way, their eyes, assaulting like poisonous serpents, but innocent like deer, they are winsome like lotus and moon.595.

KALAS

ਭਯੋ ਮੂੜ ਰਾਵਣ ਰਣ ਕ੍ਰੁਧੰ ॥
bhayo moorr raavan ran krudhan |

(At that time) anger arose in the mind of foolish Ravana

ਮਚਿਓ ਆਨ ਤੁਮਲ ਜਬ ਜੁਧੰ ॥
machio aan tumal jab judhan |

The foolish Ravana was highly infuriated in the war when the terrible war began amidst violent resonance,

ਜੂਝੇ ਸਕਲ ਸੂਰਮਾ ਸੁਧੰ ॥
joojhe sakal sooramaa sudhan |

All the good warriors were killed.

ਅਰ ਦਲ ਮਧਿ ਸਬਦ ਕਰ ਉਧੰ ॥੫੯੬॥
ar dal madh sabad kar udhan |596|

All the warriors began to fight and roam shouting violently among the enemy forces.596.

TRIBHANGI STANZA

ਧਾਯੋ ਕਰ ਕ੍ਰੁਧੰ ਸੁਭਟ ਬਿਰੁਧੰ ਗਲਿਤ ਸੁਬੁਧੰ ਗਹਿ ਬਾਣੰ ॥
dhaayo kar krudhan subhatt birudhan galit subudhan geh baanan |

That demon of vicious intellect, holding arrows in his hand and highly enraged marched forward to wage a war.

ਕੀਨੋ ਰਣ ਸੁਧੰ ਨਚਤ ਕਬੁਧੰ ਅਤ ਧੁਨ ਉਧੰ ਧਨੁ ਤਾਣੰ ॥
keeno ran sudhan nachat kabudhan at dhun udhan dhan taanan |

He fought a terrible war and amidst the pulled up bows in the battlefield, the headless trunks began to dance.

ਧਾਏ ਰਜਵਾਰੇ ਦੁਧਰ ਹਕਾਰੇ ਸੁ ਬ੍ਰਣ ਪ੍ਰਹਾਰੇ ਕਰ ਕੋਪੰ ॥
dhaae rajavaare dudhar hakaare su bran prahaare kar kopan |

The king moved forward while challenging and inflicting wounds on the warriors, they were in great ire

ਘਾਇਨ ਤਨ ਰਜੇ ਦੁ ਪਗ ਨ ਭਜੇ ਜਨੁ ਹਰ ਗਜੇ ਪਗ ਰੋਪੰ ॥੫੯੭॥
ghaaein tan raje du pag na bhaje jan har gaje pag ropan |597|

The wounds were inflicted on the bodies of the fighters, but still they are not fleeing and thundering like clouds, they are firmly standing and fighti

ਅਧਿਕ ਰੋਸ ਸਾਵਤ ਰਨ ਜੂਟੇ ॥
adhik ros saavat ran jootte |

With the increase of indignation the warriors attacked each other and

ਬਖਤਰ ਟੋਪ ਜਿਰੈ ਸਭ ਫੂਟੇ ॥
bakhatar ttop jirai sabh footte |

The armours and helmets were shattered,

ਨਿਸਰ ਚਲੇ ਸਾਇਕ ਜਨ ਛੂਟੇ ॥
nisar chale saaeik jan chhootte |

The arrows were discharged from bows and

ਜਨਿਕ ਸਿਚਾਨ ਮਾਸ ਲਖ ਟੂਟੇ ॥੪੯੮॥
janik sichaan maas lakh ttootte |498|

The bits of flesh fell on being chopped form the bodies of the enemies.598.

TRIBHANGI STANZA

ਸਾਇਕ ਜਣੁ ਛੂਟੇ ਤਿਮ ਅਰਿ ਜੂਟੇ ਬਖਤਰ ਫੂਟੇ ਜੇਬ ਜਿਰੇ ॥
saaeik jan chhootte tim ar jootte bakhatar footte jeb jire |

As soon as the arrows are discharged, the enemies in still greather numbers gather and prepare to fight even with the shattered armour

ਮਸਹਰ ਭੁਖਿਆਏ ਤਿਮੁ ਅਰਿ ਧਾਏ ਸਸਤ੍ਰ ਨਚਾਇਨ ਫੇਰਿ ਫਿਰੇਾਂ ॥
masahar bhukhiaae tim ar dhaae sasatr nachaaein fer fireaan |

They move forward and run like a hungry person here and there they are roaming hither and thither, striking their weapons.

ਸਨਮੁਖਿ ਰਣ ਗਾਜੈਂ ਕਿਮਹੂੰ ਨ ਭਾਜੈਂ ਲਖ ਸੁਰ ਲਾਜੈਂ ਰਣ ਰੰਗੰ ॥
sanamukh ran gaajain kimahoon na bhaajain lakh sur laajain ran rangan |

They fight face to face and don not run away seeing them waging war even the gods feel shy.

ਜੈ ਜੈ ਧੁਨ ਕਰਹੀ ਪੁਹਪਨ ਡਰਹੀ ਸੁ ਬਿਧਿ ਉਚਰਹੀ ਜੈ ਜੰਗੰ ॥੫੯੯॥
jai jai dhun karahee puhapan ddarahee su bidh ucharahee jai jangan |599|

The gods seeing the terrible war shower flowers with the sound of ‘hail, hail they also hail the fight in the war arena.599.

ਮੁਖ ਤੰਬੋਰ ਅਰੁ ਰੰਗ ਸੁਰੰਗੰ ॥
mukh tanbor ar rang surangan |

Whose mouth is green and the color (of the face) is red

ਨਿਡਰ ਭ੍ਰਮੰਤ ਭੂੰਮਿ ਉਹ ਜੰਗੰ ॥
niddar bhramant bhoonm uh jangan |

There is betel in the mouth of Ravana an the colour of his body is red, he is moving fearlessly in the battlefield

ਲਿਪਤ ਮਲੈ ਘਨਸਾਰ ਸੁਰੰਗੰ ॥
lipat malai ghanasaar surangan |

He has plastered his body with sandalwood

ਰੂਪ ਭਾਨ ਗਤਿਵਾਨ ਉਤੰਗੰ ॥੬੦੦॥
roop bhaan gativaan utangan |600|

He is bright like the sun and is moving with a superior gait.600.
