They went (died) after fighting and did not return. 13.
Many warriors were cut down and died there.
They fell fighting and the fairies married (them).
Call-inspired warriors died on both sides.
(Shurvir) fell on the earth and did not return again. 14.
From this side, the Lord of the Gods, Sat Sandhi ascended
And from that side Dirgh Dar got angry.
Brave with thunderbolts and scorpions
They were falling in the battlefield after fighting. 15.
Somewhere Jogans and Yaksas were rejoicing
And somewhere ghosts were dancing.
Kal ('Kali') was shouting 'Kah Kah'.
(He) used to feel fear after hearing the terrible sound. 16.
Somewhere the giants were gnashing their teeth,
How many (soldiers) were vomiting the blood of those killed in the battle.
Somewhere the jackal was speaking in front
And somewhere ghosts and vampires were eating the meat. 17.
When the king of the demons built the 'Crachabyuh' (i.e. military enclosure in the shape of a crouch-stork),
Then the Lord of the Gods created the 'Skatabyuha' (ie a military unit organized in the form of chariots in war).
There was a very bitter war
And the mighty warriors roared. 18.
Somewhere great warriors were fighting.
Some gods and some giants were lying dead.
So many heroes had fallen in the battlefield
That there was not a single warrior left on both sides. 19.
If I tell the serial story
So I am afraid that the scriptures will become big.
Where there were thirty thousand untouchable warriors,
(All of them) got angry and started a war. 20.
Commanders died fighting commanders.
Riders destroy riders.
The charioteers killed the charioteers.
The elephants sent the elephants to heaven. 21.
Dalpatis fought with Dalpatis.
Thus the (whole) army perished.
(Those) kings who were left, increased their anger
They started fighting stubbornly. 22.
King of Demons and Lord of Gods
He began to fight in many ways.
My tongue is not strong enough to describe (everything).
I am also afraid of Granth getting bigger. 23.
Bhujang Prayat Verse:
As far as I can describe, (there was) a very bitter war.
Not a single warrior was left from either side.
Then both Chhatradharis came and joined (together).
There was a very heavy war and the whole earth began to tremble. 24.
The two kings clashed (with each other) and such dust flew up,
Like the smoke of a fire during a flood.
