ਸੁਧਿ ਲੈ ਤਬ ਭੂਪ ਡਰਾਤੁਰ ਹ੍ਵੈ ਤਜਿ ਸਸਤ੍ਰਨ ਸ੍ਯਾਮ ਕੇ ਪਾਇ ਪਰਿਯੋ ॥
sudh lai tab bhoop ddaraatur hvai taj sasatran sayaam ke paae pariyo |Then the king controlling himself, in fear, abandoning his weapons, fell down at the feet of Krishna and said, “O Lord! do not kill me
ਬਧ ਮੋਰ ਕਰੋ ਨ ਅਬੈ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਜੂ ਨ ਲਹਿਓ ਤੁਮਰੋ ਬਲੁ ਭੂਲਿ ਪਰਿਯੋ ॥
badh mor karo na abai prabh joo na lahio tumaro bal bhool pariyo |I have not comprehended your power rightly,”
ਇਹ ਭਾਤਿ ਭਯੋ ਘਿਘਯਾਤ ਘਨੋ ਨ੍ਰਿਪ ਤ੍ਵੈ ਸਰਨਾਗਤਿ ਐਸੇ ਰਰਿਯੋ ॥
eih bhaat bhayo ghighayaat ghano nrip tvai saranaagat aaise rariyo |In this way, coming under refuge, the king cried and seeing him in such a plight,
ਕਬਿ ਸ੍ਯਾਮ ਕਹੈ ਇਹ ਭੂਪ ਕੀ ਦੇਖਿ ਦਸਾ ਕਰੁਣਾਨਿਧਿ ਲਾਜਿ ਭਰਿਯੋ ॥੧੯੪੬॥
kab sayaam kahai ih bhoop kee dekh dasaa karunaanidh laaj bhariyo |1946|Krishna was filled with mercy.1946.
ਕਾਨ੍ਰਹ ਜੂ ਬਾਚ ਹਲੀ ਸੋ ॥
kaanrah joo baach halee so |Speech of Krishna addressed to Balram:

ਇਹ ਦੈ ਰੇ ਹਲੀ ਕਹਿਯੋ ਛੋਰ ਅਬੈ ॥
eih dai re halee kahiyo chhor abai |
ਮਨ ਤੇ ਤਜਿ ਕ੍ਰੋਧ ਕੀ ਬਾਤ ਸਬੈ ॥
man te taj krodh kee baat sabai |“O Balram! leave him now and remove the ire from you mind
ਕਹਿਓ ਕਿਉ ਹਮ ਸੋ ਇਹ ਜੂਝ ਚਹਿਯੋ ॥
kahio kiau ham so ih joojh chahiyo |
ਤਬ ਯੌ ਹਸਿ ਕੈ ਜਦੁਰਾਇ ਕਹਿਯੋ ॥੧੯੪੭॥
tab yau has kai jaduraae kahiyo |1947|” Then Balram said, “Why does he fight with us?” Then Krishna replied while smiling,1947

ਬਡੋ ਸਤ੍ਰ ਜੋ ਹੋਇ ਤਜਿ ਸਸਤ੍ਰਨ ਪਾਇਨ ਪਰੈ ॥
baddo satr jo hoe taj sasatran paaein parai |
ਨੈਕੁ ਨ ਕਰਿ ਚਿਤ ਰੋਹਿ ਬਡੇ ਨ ਬਧ ਤਾ ਕੋ ਕਰਤ ॥੧੯੪੮॥
naik na kar chit rohi badde na badh taa ko karat |1948|“If a greater enemy, relinquishing his weapons, falls at your feet, then forsaking all the anger form the mind, the great people do not kill him.”1948.
ਦੋਹਰਾ ॥

ਜਰਾਸੰਧਿ ਕੋ ਛੋਰਿ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕਹਿਯੋ ਕਹਾ ਸੁਨ ਲੇਹੁ ॥
jaraasandh ko chhor prabh kahiyo kahaa sun lehu |
ਜੋ ਬਤੀਯਾ ਤੁਹਿ ਸੋ ਕਹੋ ਤੁਮ ਤਿਨ ਮੈ ਚਿਤੁ ਦੇਹੁ ॥੧੯੪੯॥
jo bateeyaa tuhi so kaho tum tin mai chit dehu |1949|Releasing Jarasandh, the Lord said, “O kind! Whatever I am telling you, listen it carefully.1949.
ਸਵੈਯਾ ॥

ਰੇ ਨ੍ਰਿਪ ਨਿਆਇ ਸਦਾ ਕਰੀਓ ਦੁਖੁ ਦੈ ਕੇ ਅਨ੍ਯਾਇ ਨ ਅਨਾਥਹ ਦੀਜੋ ॥
re nrip niaae sadaa kareeo dukh dai ke anayaae na anaathah deejo |“O king! always do justice and never do any injustice with the helpless
ਅਉਰ ਜਿਤੇ ਜਨ ਹੈ ਤਿਨ ਦੈ ਕਛੁ ਕੈ ਕੈ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾ ਸਭ ਤੇ ਜਸੁ ਲੀਜੋ ॥
aaur jite jan hai tin dai kachh kai kai kripaa sabh te jas leejo |Earn praise by giving something in charity
ਬਿਪਨ ਸੇਵ ਸਦਾ ਕਰੀਯੋ ਦਗ ਬਾਜਨ ਜੀਵਤ ਜਾਨ ਨ ਦੀਜੋ ॥
bipan sev sadaa kareeyo dag baajan jeevat jaan na deejo |“Serve the Brahmins, do not let the deceivers to remain alive and
ਔ ਹਮ ਸੋ ਸੰਗ ਛਤ੍ਰਨਿ ਕੇ ਕਬਹੂ ਰਿਸ ਮਾਡ ਕੈ ਜੁਧ ਨ ਕੀਜੋ ॥੧੯੫੦॥
aau ham so sang chhatran ke kabahoo ris maadd kai judh na keejo |1950|Never indulge in war with Kshatriyas like us.”1950.
ਦੋਹਰਾ ॥

ਜਰਾਸੰਧਿ ਸਿਰ ਨਾਇ ਕੈ ਧਾਮਿ ਗਯੋ ਪਛੁਤਾਇ ॥
jaraasandh sir naae kai dhaam gayo pachhutaae |
ਇਤ ਗ੍ਰਿਹਿ ਆਏ ਸ੍ਯਾਮ ਜੂ ਹਰਖਿ ਹੀਏ ਹੁਲਸਾਇ ॥੧੯੫੧॥
eit grihi aae sayaam joo harakh hee hulasaae |1951|Jarasandh, bowing down his head and repenting, went away to his home and on this side, Krishna, getting pleased, came to his home.1951.
ਇਤਿ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਬਚਿਤ੍ਰ ਨਾਟਕ ਗ੍ਰੰਥੇ ਕ੍ਰਿਸਨਾਵਤਾਰੇ ਜਰਾਸੰਧਿ ਪਕਰ ਕੈ ਛੋਰਬੋ ਧਿਆਇ ਸਮਾਪਤੰ ॥

ਸੁਨਤ ਜੀਤ ਫੂਲੇ ਸਭ ਆਵਹਿ ॥
sunat jeet foole sabh aaveh |
ਨ੍ਰਿਪ ਛੋਰਿਯੋ ਸੁਨਿ ਸੀਸੁ ਢੁਰਾਵਹਿ ॥
nrip chhoriyo sun sees dturaaveh |All had been puffed up on hearing the news of victory, but they had become sorrowful on knowing that the king Jarasandh had been released
ਯਾ ਤੇ ਹਿਯਾਉ ਸਭਨ ਕਾ ਡਰਿਯੋ ॥
yaa te hiyaau sabhan kaa ddariyo |
ਕਹਤ ਸ੍ਯਾਮ ਘਟਿ ਕਾਰਜ ਕਰਿਯੋ ॥੧੯੫੨॥
kahat sayaam ghatt kaaraj kariyo |1952|By this the mind of all had become fearful and all were saying that Krishna had not done the right thing.1952.

ਕਾਜ ਕੀਯੋ ਲਰਕਾ ਹੂੰ ਕੋ ਸ੍ਯਾਮ ਜੀ ਐਸੋ ਬਲੀ ਤੁਮਰੇ ਕਰ ਆਯੋ ॥
kaaj keeyo larakaa hoon ko sayaam jee aaiso balee tumare kar aayo |All of them said, “Krishna has done the child’s job by releasing such a powerful one from his custody
ਛੋਰਿ ਦਯੋ ਕਰ ਕੈ ਕਰੁਨਾ ਤਿਨ ਕਾਢਿ ਦਯੋ ਪੁਰ ਤੇ ਫਲੁ ਪਾਯੋ ॥
chhor dayo kar kai karunaa tin kaadt dayo pur te fal paayo |He was released earlier and the reward that we got for that was that we had to abandon our city
ਐਸੇ ਅਜਾਨ ਨ ਕਾਮ ਕਰੈ ਜੋ ਕੀਯੋ ਹਰਿ ਤੈ ਕਹਿਯੋ ਸੀਸੁ ਢੁਰਾਯੋ ॥
aaise ajaan na kaam karai jo keeyo har tai kahiyo sees dturaayo |All of them nodded negatively in affliction at Krishna’s childlike act
ਛਾਡਿ ਦਯੋ ਨਹੀ ਜੀਤ ਅਬੈ ਅਰਿ ਅਉਰ ਚਮੂੰ ਬਹੁ ਲੈਨ ਪਠਾਯੋ ॥੧੯੫੩॥
chhaadd dayo nahee jeet abai ar aaur chamoon bahu lain patthaayo |1953|After conquering him, he has been left off now, in reality we understand that he has been sent to bring more army.1953.
ਏਕ ਕਹੈ ਮਥੁਰਾ ਕੋ ਚਲੋ ਇਕ ਫੇਰਿ ਕਹੈ ਨ੍ਰਿਪ ਲੈ ਦਲ ਐਹੈ ॥
ek kahai mathuraa ko chalo ik fer kahai nrip lai dal aaihai |Someone said that it would be getter to go back to Matura
ਸ੍ਯਾਮ ਕਹੈ ਤਿਹ ਕੇ ਤਬ ਸੰਗਿ ਕਹੋ ਭਟ ਕਉਨ ਸੋ ਜੂਝ ਮਚੈਹੋ ॥
sayaam kahai tih ke tab sang kaho bhatt kaun so joojh machaiho |Someone said that the king would come again with his army for war and then who will die in the battlefield?
ਅਉਰ ਕਦਾਚ ਕੋਊ ਹਠ ਠਾਨ ਕੈ ਜਉ ਲਰਿ ਹੈ ਤਊ ਜੀਤ ਨ ਐ ਹੈ ॥
aaur kadaach koaoo hatth tthaan kai jau lar hai taoo jeet na aai hai |And even if one fought with him, he would not be able to win
ਤਾ ਤੇ ਨ ਧਾਇ ਧਸੋ ਪੁਰ ਮੈ ਬਿਧਨਾ ਜੋਊ ਲੇਖ ਲਿਖਿਓ ਸੋਊ ਹ੍ਵੈ ਹੈ ॥੧੯੫੪॥
taa te na dhaae dhaso pur mai bidhanaa joaoo lekh likhio soaoo hvai hai |1954|Therefore we may not go back to the city immediately, whatever God wills, will come to pass and let us see what happens.1954.
ਛਾਡਿਬੋ ਭੂਪਤਿ ਕੋ ਸੁਨ ਕੈ ਸਭ ਹੀ ਮਨਿ ਜਾਦਵ ਤ੍ਰਾਸ ਭਰੇ ॥
chhaaddibo bhoopat ko sun kai sabh hee man jaadav traas bhare |The release of the king made all the Yadavas fearful
ਨਿਧਿ ਨੀਰ ਕੇ ਭੀਤਰ ਜਾਇ ਬਸੇ ਮੁਖ ਤੇ ਸਭ ਐਸੇ ਚਲੇ ਸੁ ਰਰੇ ॥
nidh neer ke bheetar jaae base mukh te sabh aaise chale su rare |And all of them talking about various things went to reside on the sea-coast
ਕਿਨਹੂੰ ਨਹਿ ਸ੍ਯਾਮ ਕਹੈ ਅਪੁਨੇ ਪੁਰ ਕੀ ਪੁਨਿ ਓਰਿ ਕਉ ਪਾਇ ਧਰੇ ॥
kinahoon neh sayaam kahai apune pur kee pun or kau paae dhare |And none of them advanced his feet towards the city (Matura)
ਅਤਿ ਹੀ ਹੈ ਡਰੇ ਬਲਵੰਤ ਖਰੇ ਬਿਨੁ ਆਯੁਧ ਹੀ ਸਭ ਮਾਰਿ ਮਰੇ ॥੧੯੫੫॥
at hee hai ddare balavant khare bin aayudh hee sabh maar mare |1955|All the warriors, beaten up without weapons, were standing there, extremely frightened.1955.
ਸਿੰਧੁ ਪੈ ਜਾਇ ਖਰੇ ਭਏ ਸ੍ਯਾਮ ਜੂ ਸਿੰਧੁ ਹੂੰ ਤੇ ਸੁ ਕਛੂ ਕਰ ਚਾਹਿਯੋ ॥
sindh pai jaae khare bhe sayaam joo sindh hoon te su kachhoo kar chaahiyo |Krishna went and stood by the seaside and he addressed the sea to do something
ਛੋਰੁ ਕਹਿਯੋ ਭੂਅ ਛੋਰਿ ਦਈ ਤਨ ਕੈ ਧਨੁ ਕੋ ਜਿਹ ਲਉ ਸਰ ਬਾਹਿਯੋ ॥
chhor kahiyo bhooa chhor dee tan kai dhan ko jih lau sar baahiyo |When the sea was asked to vacate the earth, while fitting the arrow in the bow,
ਕੰਚਨ ਕੇ ਗ੍ਰਿਹ ਕੈ ਦੀਏ ਤ੍ਯਾਰ ਭਲੇ ਕਿਨਹੂੰ ਤਿਨ ਕਉਨ ਅਚਾਹਿਯੋ ॥
kanchan ke grih kai dee tayaar bhale kinahoon tin kaun achaahiyo |He left the earth and without the desire of anybody he prepared the golden mansions
ਐਸੇ ਕਹੈ ਸਭ ਹੀ ਅਪਨੇ ਮਨਿ ਤੈ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਜੂ ਸਭ ਕੋ ਦੁਖ ਦਾਹਿਯੋ ॥੧੯੫੬॥
aaise kahai sabh hee apane man tai prabh joo sabh ko dukh daahiyo |1956|Seeing this all said in their minds that Krishna has removed the sufferings of all.1956.
ਜੋ ਸਨਕਾਦਿਕ ਕੈ ਰਹੇ ਸੇਵ ਘਨੀ ਤਿਨ ਕੇ ਹਰਿ ਹਾਥਿ ਨ ਆਏ ॥
jo sanakaadik kai rahe sev ghanee tin ke har haath na aae |Those who served Sanak, Sanandan etc., the Lord could not be realised by them
