ਨ ਹਾਥੈ ਪਸਾਰਾ ਤਹਾ ਦ੍ਰਿਸਟਿ ਆਵੈ ॥
n haathai pasaaraa tahaa drisatt aavai |The outstretched hand was not visible there.
ਕਛੂ ਭੂਮਿ ਆਕਾਸ ਹੇਰੋ ਨ ਜਾਵੈ ॥੨੫॥
kachhoo bhoom aakaas hero na jaavai |25|Even the earth and sky did not show anything. 25.
ਅੜਿਲ ॥
arril |adamant:
ਤੀਸ ਸਹਸ ਛੂਹਨਿ ਦਲ ਜਬ ਜੂਝਤ ਭਯੋ ॥
tees sahas chhoohan dal jab joojhat bhayo |When thirty thousand untouchables died fighting,
ਦੁਹੂੰ ਨ੍ਰਿਪਨ ਕੇ ਕੋਪ ਅਧਿਕ ਤਬ ਹੀ ਭਯੋ ॥
duhoon nripan ke kop adhik tab hee bhayo |Then the anger of both the kings became very great.
ਪੀਸਿ ਪੀਸਿ ਰਦਨਛਦ ਬਿਸਿਖ ਪ੍ਰਹਾਰਹੀ ॥
pees pees radanachhad bisikh prahaarahee |(They) used to shoot arrows by grinding their teeth
ਹੋ ਜੋ ਜੀਯ ਭੀਤਰ ਕੋਪ ਸੁ ਪ੍ਰਗਟ ਦਿਖਾਰਹੀ ॥੨੬॥
ho jo jeey bheetar kop su pragatt dikhaarahee |26|And they were expressing the anger of the mind. 26.
ਚੌਪਈ ॥
chauapee |twenty four:
ਬੀਸ ਬਰਸ ਨਿਸੁ ਦਿਨ ਰਨ ਕਰਾ ॥
bees baras nis din ran karaa |They fought day and night for twenty years.
ਦੁਹੂੰ ਨ੍ਰਿਪਨ ਤੇ ਏਕ ਨ ਟਰਾ ॥
duhoon nripan te ek na ttaraa |But neither of the two kings budged.
ਅੰਤ ਕਾਲ ਤਿਨ ਦੁਹੂੰ ਖਪਾਯੋ ॥
ant kaal tin duhoon khapaayo |In the end, famine destroyed them both.
ਉਹਿ ਕੌ ਇਹ ਇਹ ਕੌ ਉਹਿ ਘਾਯੋ ॥੨੭॥
auhi kau ih ih kau uhi ghaayo |27|He killed it and it killed him. 27.
ਭੁਜੰਗ ਛੰਦ ॥
bhujang chhand |Bhujang Verse:
ਜਬੈ ਛੂਹਨੀ ਤੀਸ ਸਾਹਸ੍ਰ ਮਾਰੇ ॥
jabai chhoohanee tees saahasr maare |When thirty thousand untouchables were killed
ਦੋਊ ਰਾਵਈ ਰਾਵ ਜੂਝੇ ਕਰਾਰੇ ॥
doaoo raavee raav joojhe karaare |(Then) the two kings fought (with each other) fiercely.
ਮਚਿਯੋ ਲੋਹ ਗਾਢੌ ਉਠੀ ਅਗਨਿ ਜ੍ਵਾਲਾ ॥
machiyo loh gaadtau utthee agan jvaalaa |(Then) a terrible war broke out and fire arose from it.
ਭਈ ਤੇਜ ਤੌਨੇ ਹੁਤੇ ਏਕ ਬਾਲਾ ॥੨੮॥
bhee tej tauane hute ek baalaa |28|A 'Bala' (woman) was born from that radiance. 28.
ਤਿਸੀ ਕੋਪ ਕੀ ਅਗਨਿ ਤੇ ਬਾਲ ਹ੍ਵੈ ਕੈ ॥
tisee kop kee agan te baal hvai kai |Bala was born from the fire of that anger
ਹਸੀ ਹਾਥ ਮੈ ਸਸਤ੍ਰ ਔ ਅਸਤ੍ਰ ਲੈ ਕੈ ॥
hasee haath mai sasatr aau asatr lai kai |And started laughing with weapons in hand.
ਮਹਾ ਰੂਪ ਆਨੂਪ ਤਾ ਕੋ ਬਿਰਾਜੈ ॥
mahaa roop aanoop taa ko biraajai |His great form was unique.
ਲਖੇ ਤੇਜ ਤਾ ਕੋ ਸਸੀ ਸੂਰ ਲਾਜੈ ॥੨੯॥
lakhe tej taa ko sasee soor laajai |29|Even the sun and the moon used to shy away from seeing his brightness. 29.
ਚੌਪਈ ॥
chauapee |twenty four:
ਚਾਰਹੁ ਦਿਸਾ ਫਿਰੀ ਜਬ ਬਾਲਾ ॥
chaarahu disaa firee jab baalaa |When the child started walking on all fours
ਜਾਨੋ ਨਾਗ ਰੂਪ ਕੀ ਮਾਲਾ ॥
jaano naag roop kee maalaa |(It looked like this) as if there was a garland of snake-form (literally 'rag-form').
ਐਸ ਨ ਕਤਹੂੰ ਪੁਰਖ ਨਿਹਾਰਾ ॥
aais na katahoon purakh nihaaraa |No such man was seen anywhere.
ਨਾਥ ਕਰੈ ਜਿਹ ਆਪੁ ਸੁਧਾਰਾ ॥੩੦॥
naath karai jih aap sudhaaraa |30|Whom (he) can make his Nath. 30.
ਫਿਰ ਜਿਯ ਮੈ ਇਹ ਭਾਤਿ ਬਿਚਾਰੀ ॥
fir jiy mai ih bhaat bichaaree |Then he formed this idea in his mind
ਬਰੌ ਜਗਤ ਕੇ ਪਤਿਹਿ ਸੁਧਾਰੀ ॥
barau jagat ke patihi sudhaaree |To be married only to the lord of the world.
ਤਾ ਤੇ ਕਰੌ ਦੀਨ ਹ੍ਵੈ ਸੇਵਾ ॥
taa te karau deen hvai sevaa |So that I serve (them) with complete humility
ਹੋਇ ਪ੍ਰਸੰਨ ਕਾਲਿਕਾ ਦੇਵਾ ॥੩੧॥
hoe prasan kaalikaa devaa |31|(By doing which) Mahakal ('Kalika Deva') will be pleased. 31.
ਅਧਿਕ ਸੁਚਿਤ ਹ੍ਵੈ ਕੀਏ ਸੁਮੰਤ੍ਰਾ ॥
adhik suchit hvai kee sumantraa |He thought more carefully
ਭਾਤਿ ਭਾਤਿ ਤਨ ਲਿਖਿ ਲਿਖਿ ਜੰਤ੍ਰਾ ॥
bhaat bhaat tan likh likh jantraa |And wrote various instruments.
ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾ ਕਰੀ ਜਗ ਮਾਤ ਭਵਾਨੀ ॥
kripaa karee jag maat bhavaanee |Jagat Mata Bhavani begged (him).
ਇਹ ਬਿਧ ਬਤਿਯਾ ਤਾਹਿ ਬਖਾਨੀ ॥੩੨॥
eih bidh batiyaa taeh bakhaanee |32|And explained to him like this. 32.
ਕਰਿ ਜਿਨਿ ਸੋਕ ਹ੍ਰਿਦੈ ਤੈ ਪੁਤ੍ਰੀ ॥
kar jin sok hridai tai putree |(Bhavani said) O daughter! Don't be sad in your heart.
ਨਿਰੰਕਾਰ ਬਰਿ ਹੈ ਤੁਹਿ ਅਤ੍ਰੀ ॥
nirankaar bar hai tuhi atree |Nirankar Astradhari will marry you (avash).
ਤਾ ਕਾ ਧ੍ਯਾਨ ਆਜੁ ਨਿਸਿ ਧਰਿਯਹੁ ॥
taa kaa dhayaan aaj nis dhariyahu |You take care of him tonight.
ਕਹਿਹੈ ਜੁ ਕਛੁ ਸੋਈ ਤੁਮ ਕਰਿਯਹੁ ॥੩੩॥
kahihai ju kachh soee tum kariyahu |33|Whatever he says, you do the same. 33.
ਜਬ ਅਸ ਬਰ ਤਿਹ ਦਿਯੋ ਭਵਾਨੀ ॥
jab as bar tih diyo bhavaanee |When Bhavani gave him such a boon,
ਪ੍ਰਫੁਲਿਤ ਭਈ ਜਗਤ ਕੀ ਰਾਨੀ ॥
prafulit bhee jagat kee raanee |(Then she) the queen of the world became happy.
ਅਤਿ ਪਵਿਤ੍ਰ ਨਿਸਿ ਹ੍ਵੈ ਛਿਤ ਸੋਈ ॥
at pavitr nis hvai chhit soee |She became extremely pure and slept on the ground at night.
ਜਿਹ ਠਾ ਔਰ ਨ ਦੂਸਰ ਕੋਈ ॥੩੪॥
jih tthaa aauar na doosar koee |34|Where there was no other. 34.
ਅਰਧ ਰਾਤ੍ਰਿ ਬੀਤਤ ਭੀ ਜਬ ਹੀ ॥
aradh raatr beetat bhee jab hee |When midnight passed,
ਆਗ੍ਯਾ ਭਈ ਨਾਥ ਕੀ ਤਬ ਹੀ ॥
aagayaa bhee naath kee tab hee |Only then the permission of the Lord came.
ਸ੍ਵਾਸ ਬੀਰਜ ਦਾਨਵ ਜਬ ਮਰਿ ਹੈ ॥
svaas beeraj daanav jab mar hai |When the giant called Svas Birja will be killed,
ਤਿਹ ਪਾਛੇ ਸੁੰਦਰਿ ਮੁਹਿ ਬਰਿ ਹੈ ॥੩੫॥
tih paachhe sundar muhi bar hai |35|After that, oh beauty! (You) will love me. 35.
ਇਹ ਬਿਧਿ ਤਿਹ ਆਗ੍ਯਾ ਜਬ ਭਈ ॥
eih bidh tih aagayaa jab bhee |When he got such a permission,
ਦਿਨਮਨਿ ਚੜਿਯੋ ਰੈਨਿ ਮਿਟਿ ਗਈ ॥
dinaman charriyo rain mitt gee |So the sun rose and the night passed.
