ਆਪੁ ਭਾਜ ਪੁਨਿ ਤਹ ਤੇ ਗਯੋ ॥
aap bhaaj pun tah te gayo |He himself ran away from there.
ਤੇਜ ਭਏ ਤ੍ਰਿਯ ਕੋ ਤਨ ਤਯੋ ॥੬॥
tej bhe triy ko tan tayo |6|Rani's body became hot with anger. 6.
ਲਿਖਿ ਪਤਿਯਾ ਅਸਿ ਤਾਹਿ ਪਠਾਈ ॥
likh patiyaa as taeh patthaaee |He wrote a letter like this and sent it
ਤੋਹਿ ਮਿਤ੍ਰ ਮੁਹਿ ਤਜਾ ਨ ਜਾਈ ॥
tohi mitr muhi tajaa na jaaee |O friend! You are not separated from me.
ਛਿਮਾ ਕਰਹੁ ਇਹ ਭੂਲਿ ਹਮਾਰੀ ॥
chhimaa karahu ih bhool hamaaree |Please forgive my mistake.
ਅਬ ਦਾਸੀ ਮੈ ਭਈ ਤਿਹਾਰੀ ॥੭॥
ab daasee mai bhee tihaaree |7|Now I have become your maid. 7.
ਜੌ ਆਗੇ ਫਿਰਿ ਐਸ ਨਿਹਰਿਯਹੁ ॥
jau aage fir aais nihariyahu |If you see (me) like this again
ਮੋਹੂ ਸਹਿਤ ਮਾਰਿ ਤਿਹ ਡਰਿਯਹੁ ॥
mohoo sahit maar tih ddariyahu |Then kill me with that too.
ਭਲਾ ਕਿਯਾ ਤੁਮ ਤਾਹਿ ਸੰਘਾਰਾ ॥
bhalaa kiyaa tum taeh sanghaaraa |You killed him who did well
ਆਗੇ ਰਾਹ ਮਿਤ੍ਰ ਮੁਹਿ ਡਾਰਾ ॥੮॥
aage raah mitr muhi ddaaraa |8|And oh friend! Put me on the (right) path ahead. 8.
ਦੋਹਰਾ ॥

ਪਤਿਯਾ ਬਾਚਤ ਮੂੜ ਮਤਿ ਫੂਲ ਗਯੋ ਮਨ ਮਾਹਿ ॥
patiyaa baachat moorr mat fool gayo man maeh |(He) read the letter with a stupid opinion, and his mind swelled
ਬਹੁਰਿ ਤਹਾ ਆਵਤ ਭਯੋ ਭੇਦ ਪਛਾਨਿਯੋ ਨਾਹਿ ॥੯॥
bahur tahaa aavat bhayo bhed pachhaaniyo naeh |9|And without knowing the secret, he came to him again. 9.

ਪ੍ਰਥਮ ਮਿਤ੍ਰ ਤਿਹ ਠਾ ਜਬ ਆਯੋ ॥
pratham mitr tih tthaa jab aayo |When the first friend came to that place
ਦੁਤਿਯ ਮਿਤ੍ਰ ਸੌ ਬਾਧਿ ਜਰਾਯੋ ॥
dutiy mitr sau baadh jaraayo |(So he was) tied (with the loth) of another friend and burnt.
ਜਿਨ ਮੇਰੇ ਮਿਤਵਾ ਕਹ ਮਾਰਿਯੋ ॥
jin mere mitavaa kah maariyo |(He thought in his mind that) he who has killed my friend,
ਵਹੈ ਚਾਹਿਯਤ ਪਕਰਿ ਸੰਘਾਰਿਯੋ ॥੧੦॥
vahai chaahiyat pakar sanghaariyo |10|He should also be caught and killed. 10.
ਅਸ ਤ੍ਰਿਯ ਪ੍ਰਥਮ ਭਜਤ ਭੀ ਜਾ ਕੋ ॥
as triy pratham bhajat bhee jaa ko |Thus, with which the woman used to associate.
ਇਹ ਚਰਿਤ੍ਰ ਪੁਨਿ ਮਾਰਿਯੋ ਤਾ ਕੋ ॥
eih charitr pun maariyo taa ko |Killed him with this character.
ਇਨ ਅਬਲਨ ਕੀ ਰੀਤਿ ਅਪਾਰਾ ॥
ein abalan kee reet apaaraa |The custom of these women is immense
ਜਿਨ ਕੋ ਆਵਤ ਵਾਰ ਨ ਪਾਰਾ ॥੧੧॥
jin ko aavat vaar na paaraa |11|Which cannot be crossed. 11.
ਇਤਿ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਚਰਿਤ੍ਰ ਪਖ੍ਯਾਨੇ ਤ੍ਰਿਯਾ ਚਰਿਤ੍ਰੇ ਮੰਤ੍ਰੀ ਭੂਪ ਸੰਬਾਦੇ ਦੋਇ ਸੌ ਤਿਹਤਰ ਚਰਿਤ੍ਰ ਸਮਾਪਤਮ ਸਤੁ ਸੁਭਮ ਸਤੁ ॥੨੭੩॥੫੨੯੦॥ਅਫਜੂੰ॥
eit sree charitr pakhayaane triyaa charitre mantree bhoop sanbaade doe sau tihatar charitr samaapatam sat subham sat |273|5290|afajoon|Here is the conclusion of the 273rd charitra of Mantri Bhup Sambad of Tria Charitra of Sri Charitropakhyan, all is auspicious. 273.5290. goes on

ਇਕ ਅੰਬਸਟ ਕੇ ਦੇਸ ਨ੍ਰਿਪਾਲਾ ॥
eik anbasatt ke des nripaalaa |Ambast was a king of the country.
ਪਦੁਮਿਨਿ ਦੇ ਜਾ ਕੇ ਗ੍ਰਿਹ ਬਾਲਾ ॥
padumin de jaa ke grih baalaa |In his house there was a lady named Padmani (Dei).
ਅਪ੍ਰਮਾਨ ਤਿਹ ਪ੍ਰਭਾ ਭਨਿਜੈ ॥
apramaan tih prabhaa bhanijai |Her beauty was great
ਜਿਹ ਕੋ ਕੋ ਪਤਟਰ ਤ੍ਰਿਯ ਦਿਜੈ ॥੧॥
jih ko ko patattar triy dijai |1|Who should be compared with which woman? 1.
ਤਾ ਕੇ ਏਕ ਦਾਸ ਘਰ ਮਾਹੀ ॥
taa ke ek daas ghar maahee |There was a slave in his house
ਜਿਹ ਸਮ ਸ੍ਯਾਮ ਬਰਨ ਕਹੂੰ ਨਾਹੀ ॥
jih sam sayaam baran kahoon naahee |There was no one else with a black complexion like him.
ਨਾਮਾਫਿਕ ਸੰਖ੍ਯਾ ਤਿਹ ਰਹੈ ॥
naamaafik sankhayaa tih rahai |His name was 'Namafik'.
ਮਾਨੁਖ ਜੋਨਿ ਕਵਨ ਤਿਹ ਕਹੈ ॥੨॥
maanukh jon kavan tih kahai |2|How could anyone call him a human being? 2.
ਚੇਰੀ ਏਕ ਹੁਤੀ ਤਾ ਸੌ ਰਤਿ ॥
cheree ek hutee taa sau rat |A maid was engrossed in him
ਜਾ ਕੇ ਹੁਤੀ ਨ ਕਛੁ ਘਟ ਮਹਿ ਮਤਿ ॥
jaa ke hutee na kachh ghatt meh mat |There was no one on this earth less stupid than him.
ਨਾਮਾਫਿਕ ਤਿਨ ਨਾਰਿ ਬੁਲਾਯੋ ॥
naamaafik tin naar bulaayo |Namafik was called by that woman
ਕਾਮ ਭੋਗ ਮਨ ਖੋਲਿ ਮਚਾਯੋ ॥੩॥
kaam bhog man khol machaayo |3|And willingly had sex with him. 3.
ਤਬ ਲਗਿ ਆਇ ਨ੍ਰਿਪਤਿ ਗਯੋ ਤਹਾ ॥
tab lag aae nripat gayo tahaa |By then the king came there
ਚੇਰੀ ਰਮਤ ਦਾਸਿ ਸੰਗ ਜਹਾ ॥
cheree ramat daas sang jahaa |Where the maid (she) was making love with the slave.
ਲਟਪਟਾਇ ਦਾਸੀ ਤਬ ਗਈ ॥
lattapattaae daasee tab gee |Then the maid panicked
ਚਟਪਟ ਜਾਤ ਸਕਲ ਸੁਧਿ ਭਈ ॥੪॥
chattapatt jaat sakal sudh bhee |4|And suddenly all consciousness went away. 4.
ਜਤਨ ਅਵਰ ਕਛੁ ਹਾਥ ਨ ਆਯੋ ॥
jatan avar kachh haath na aayo |Nothing else helped him.
ਮਾਰਿ ਦਾਸ ਉਲਟੋ ਲਟਕਾਯੋ ॥
maar daas ulatto lattakaayo |The slave was killed and hung upside down.
ਹਰੇ ਹਰੇ ਤਰ ਆਗਿ ਜਰਾਈ ॥
hare hare tar aag jaraaee |(beneath him) kindled a gentle fire,
ਕਾਢਤ ਹੈ ਜਨੁ ਕਰਿ ਮਿਮਿਯਾਈ ॥੫॥
kaadtat hai jan kar mimiyaaee |5|As if his fat is being removed. 5.
ਨ੍ਰਿਪਤਿ ਮ੍ਰਿਤਕ ਜਬ ਦਾਸ ਨਿਹਾਰਾ ॥
nripat mritak jab daas nihaaraa |When the king saw the slave dead
ਅਦਭੁਦ ਹ੍ਵੈ ਇਹ ਭਾਤਿ ਉਚਾਰਾ ॥
adabhud hvai ih bhaat uchaaraa |So asked in surprise,
ਕ੍ਯੋ ਇਹ ਹਨਿ ਤੈ ਦਿਯ ਲਟਕਾਈ ॥
kayo ih han tai diy lattakaaee |Why are you hanging after killing it?
ਕਿਹ ਕਾਰਨ ਤਰ ਆਗਿ ਜਰਾਈ ॥੬॥
kih kaaran tar aag jaraaee |6|And for whom the fire is lit under it. 6.
