ਅੜਿਲ ॥

ਸ੍ਰੀ ਜਸ ਤਿਲਕ ਸਿੰਘ ਤਿਹ ਨਾਮ ਪਛਾਨਿਯੈ ॥
sree jas tilak singh tih naam pachhaaniyai |His name should be recognized as Jas Tilak Singh.
ਰੂਪਵਾਨ ਧਨਵਾਨ ਚਤੁਰ ਪਹਿਚਾਨਿਯੈ ॥
roopavaan dhanavaan chatur pahichaaniyai |He should be considered handsome, wealthy and clever.
ਜੋ ਇਸਤ੍ਰੀ ਤਾ ਕੋ ਛਿਨ ਰੂਪ ਨਿਹਾਰਈ ॥
jo isatree taa ko chhin roop nihaaree |The woman who saw him even for a glimpse,
ਹੋ ਲੋਕ ਲਾਜ ਕੁਲਿ ਕਾਨਿ ਸਭੈ ਤਜਿ ਡਾਰਈ ॥੩॥
ho lok laaj kul kaan sabhai taj ddaaree |3|Then those people would immediately leave the lodge and the customs of the clan. 3.

ਏਕ ਸਖੀ ਤਾ ਕੌ ਲਖਿ ਪਾਈ ॥
ek sakhee taa kau lakh paaee |A Sakhi saw him
ਬੈਠਿ ਸਖਿਨ ਮਹਿ ਬਾਤ ਚਲਾਈ ॥
baitth sakhin meh baat chalaaee |And sat among (other) friends and talked
ਜਸ ਸੁੰਦਰ ਇਕ ਇਹ ਪੁਰ ਮਾਹੀ ॥
jas sundar ik ih pur maahee |That there is such a beautiful (person) in this city
ਤੈਸੌ ਚੰਦ੍ਰ ਸੂਰ ਭੀ ਨਾਹੀ ॥੪॥
taisau chandr soor bhee naahee |4|There is no such thing as the moon and the sun. 4.
ਸੁਨਿ ਬਤਿਯਾ ਰਾਨੀ ਜਿਯ ਰਾਖੀ ॥
sun batiyaa raanee jiy raakhee |After hearing (this), the queen kept it in her mind
ਔਰ ਨਾਰਿ ਸੌ ਪ੍ਰਗਟ ਨ ਭਾਖੀ ॥
aauar naar sau pragatt na bhaakhee |And did not reveal to other women.
ਜੋ ਸਹਚਰਿ ਤਾ ਕੌ ਲਖਿ ਆਈ ॥
jo sahachar taa kau lakh aaee |The maid who came to see him.
ਰੈਨਿ ਭਈ ਤਬ ਵਹੈ ਬੁਲਾਈ ॥੫॥
rain bhee tab vahai bulaaee |5|It was night, then he was called. 5.
ਅਧਿਕ ਦਰਬੁ ਤਾ ਕੌ ਦੈ ਰਾਨੀ ॥
adhik darab taa kau dai raanee |The queen gave him a lot of money
ਪੂਛੀ ਤਾਹਿ ਦੀਨ ਹ੍ਵੈ ਬਾਨੀ ॥
poochhee taeh deen hvai baanee |asked submissively.
ਸੁ ਕਹੁ ਕਹਾ ਮੁਹਿ ਜੁ ਤੈ ਨਿਹਾਰਾ ॥
su kahu kahaa muhi ju tai nihaaraa |About the (person) you saw, tell me where he is.
ਕਿਯਾ ਚਾਹਤ ਤਿਹ ਦਰਸ ਅਪਾਰਾ ॥੬॥
kiyaa chaahat tih daras apaaraa |6|I want to see him. 6.
ਤਬ ਚੇਰੀ ਇਮਿ ਬਚਨ ਉਚਾਰੋ ॥
tab cheree im bachan uchaaro |Then the maid spoke thus.
ਸੁਨੁ ਰਾਨੀ ਜੂ ਕਹਾ ਹਮਾਰੋ ॥
sun raanee joo kahaa hamaaro |Oh queen! You listen to me.
ਸ੍ਰੀ ਜਸ ਤਿਲਕ ਰਾਇ ਤਿਹ ਜਾਨੋ ॥
sree jas tilak raae tih jaano |Understand his name as Jas Tilak Rai.
ਸਾਹ ਪੂਤ ਤਾ ਕਹ ਪਹਿਚਾਨੋ ॥੭॥
saah poot taa kah pahichaano |7|Recognize him as the son of Shah.7.
ਜੁ ਤੁਮ ਕਹੌ ਤਿਹ ਤੁਮੈ ਮਿਲਾਊ ॥
ju tum kahau tih tumai milaaoo |If you ask, they will meet you
ਮਦਨ ਤਾਪ ਸਭ ਤੋਰ ਮਿਟਾਊ ॥
madan taap sabh tor mittaaoo |And calm your lustful fire.
ਸੁਨਤ ਬਚਨ ਰਾਨੀ ਪਗ ਪਰੀ ॥
sunat bachan raanee pag paree |Hearing (his) words, the queen fell on her feet
ਪੁਨਿ ਤਾ ਸੌ ਬਿਨਤੀ ਇਮਿ ਕਰੀ ॥੮॥
pun taa sau binatee im karee |8|And then requested him like this.8.
ਜੇ ਤਾ ਕੋ ਤੈਂ ਮੁਝੈ ਮਿਲਾਵੈਂ ॥
je taa ko tain mujhai milaavain |If you give him to me,
ਜੋ ਧਨ ਮੁਖ ਮਾਗੈ ਸੋ ਪਾਵੈਂ ॥
jo dhan mukh maagai so paavain |You will receive the money you ask for.
ਤਹ ਸਖੀ ਗਈ ਬਾਰ ਨਹਿ ਲਾਗੀ ॥
tah sakhee gee baar neh laagee |(Then) she went there without delay
ਆਨਿ ਦਿਯੋ ਤਾ ਕੌ ਬਡਭਾਗੀ ॥੯॥
aan diyo taa kau baddabhaagee |9|And brought that blessed one (with him). 9.
ਦੋਹਰਾ ॥
doharaa |dual:
ਰਾਨੀ ਤਾ ਕੌ ਪਾਇ ਤਿਹ ਦਾਰਿਦ ਦਿਯਾ ਮਿਟਾਇ ॥
raanee taa kau paae tih daarid diyaa mittaae |The queen got her and removed her (maid) poverty.
ਨ੍ਰਿਪ ਕੀ ਆਖ ਬਚਾਇ ਉਹਿ ਲਿਯੇ ਗਰੇ ਸੌ ਲਾਇ ॥੧੦॥
nrip kee aakh bachaae uhi liye gare sau laae |10|Rani saved the king's eye and hugged him. 10.
ਚੌਪਈ ॥

ਦੋਊ ਧਨੀ ਔ ਜੋਬਨਵੰਤ ॥
doaoo dhanee aau jobanavant |Both were rich and active
ਕਰਤ ਕਾਮ ਕ੍ਰੀੜਾ ਬਿਗਸੰਤ ॥
karat kaam kreerraa bigasant |And they used to be happy by having sex.
ਇਕ ਕਾਮੀ ਅਰੁ ਕੈਫ ਚੜਾਈ ॥
eik kaamee ar kaif charraaee |One was a worker and (the other) was drinking.
ਰੈਨਿ ਸਕਲ ਰਤਿ ਕਰਤ ਬਿਤਾਈ ॥੧੧॥
rain sakal rat karat bitaaee |11|Spent the whole night doing sex. 11.
ਲਪਟਿ ਲਪਟਿ ਆਸਨ ਵੇ ਲੇਹੀ ॥
lapatt lapatt aasan ve lehee |They would take a posture with their arms folded
ਆਪੁ ਬੀਚਿ ਸੁਖੁ ਬਹੁ ਬਿਧਿ ਦੇਹੀ ॥
aap beech sukh bahu bidh dehee |And give each other a lot of happiness.
ਚੁੰਬਨ ਕਰਤ ਨਖਨ ਕੇ ਘਾਤਾ ॥
chunban karat nakhan ke ghaataa |Kisses and nail marks.
ਰੈਨਿ ਬਿਤੀ ਆਯੋ ਹ੍ਵੈ ਪ੍ਰਾਤਾ ॥੧੨॥
rain bitee aayo hvai praataa |12|Thus the night passed and the day dawned. 12.
ਰਾਨੀ ਗਈ ਪ੍ਰਾਤ ਪਤਿ ਪਾਸ ॥
raanee gee praat pat paas |Rani went to her husband in the morning,
ਲਗੀ ਰਹੀ ਜਾ ਕੀ ਜਿਯ ਆਸ ॥
lagee rahee jaa kee jiy aas |But there was hope for him (man) in his mind.
ਅਥਵਤ ਦਿਨਨ ਹੋਤ ਅੰਧਯਾਰੋ ॥
athavat dinan hot andhayaaro |(She kept thinking in her mind) at what time the day will end and it will be dark
ਬਹੁਰਿ ਭਜੈ ਮੁਹਿ ਆਨਿ ਪ੍ਯਾਰੋ ॥੧੩॥
bahur bhajai muhi aan payaaro |13|And then my lover will come and give me happiness. 13.
ਜੌ ਰਹਿ ਹੌ ਰਾਜਾ ਕੈ ਪਾਸ ॥
jau reh hau raajaa kai paas |If I live with the king
ਮੋਹਿ ਰਾਖਿ ਹੈ ਬਿਰਧ ਨਿਰਾਸ ॥
mohi raakh hai biradh niraas |So this age will keep me disappointed.
