ਸਾਤ ਸਮੁੰਦ੍ਰਨ ਲੌ ਗਰਵੇ ਗਿਰ ਭੂਮਿ ਅਕਾਸ ਦੋਊ ਥਹਰਾਨੇ ॥
saat samundran lau garave gir bhoom akaas doaoo thaharaane |Visualising the serene posture of Ram, exhibiting the serenity of seven seas, the mountains, Sky and the whole world trembled.
ਜਛ ਭੁਜੰਗ ਦਿਸਾ ਬਿਦਿਸਾਨ ਕੇ ਦਾਨਵ ਦੇਵ ਦੁਹੂੰ ਡਰ ਮਾਨੇ ॥
jachh bhujang disaa bidisaan ke daanav dev duhoon ddar maane |The Yakshas, Nagas, gods gods demons of all the four directions were frightened.
ਸ੍ਰੀ ਰਘੁਨਾਥ ਕਮਾਨ ਲੇ ਹਾਥ ਕਹੋ ਰਿਸ ਕੈ ਕਿਹ ਪੈ ਸਰ ਤਾਨੇ ॥੧੪੯॥
sree raghunaath kamaan le haath kaho ris kai kih pai sar taane |149|Getting hold of his bow in his hand, Ram said to Parashuram, “On whom you have stretched this arrow in anger?”149.
ਪਰਸੁ ਰਾਮ ਬਾਚ ਰਾਮ ਸੋ ॥
paras raam baach raam so |Speech of Parashuram addressed to Ram :
ਜੇਤਕ ਬੈਨ ਕਹੇ ਸੁ ਕਹੇ ਜੁ ਪੈ ਫੇਰਿ ਕਹੇ ਤੁ ਪੈ ਜੀਤ ਨ ਜੈਹੋ ॥
jetak bain kahe su kahe ju pai fer kahe tu pai jeet na jaiho |“O Ram! whatever you have said, you have said and now if you say anything further, then you will not remain alive
ਹਾਥਿ ਹਥਿਆਰ ਗਹੇ ਸੁ ਗਹੇ ਜੁ ਪੈ ਫੇਰਿ ਗਹੇ ਤੁ ਪੈ ਫੇਰਿ ਨ ਲੈਹੋ ॥
haath hathiaar gahe su gahe ju pai fer gahe tu pai fer na laiho |“The weapon that you had to wield, you have wielded and if you try to wield anything more, your effort will be of no avail.”
ਰਾਮ ਰਿਸੈ ਰਣ ਮੈ ਰਘੁਬੀਰ ਕਹੋ ਭਜਿ ਕੈ ਕਤ ਪ੍ਰਾਨ ਬਚੈਹੋ ॥
raam risai ran mai raghubeer kaho bhaj kai kat praan bachaiho |Then getting furious Parashuram said to Ram, “Say, where will you run away now from war and how will you save your life?
ਤੋਰ ਸਰਾਸਨ ਸੰਕਰ ਕੋ ਹਰਿ ਸੀਅ ਚਲੇ ਘਰਿ ਜਾਨ ਨ ਪੈਹੋ ॥੧੫੦॥
tor saraasan sankar ko har seea chale ghar jaan na paiho |150|“O Ram! breaking the bow of Shiva and now wedding Sita you will not be able to reach your home.”150.
ਰਾਮ ਬਾਚ ਪਰਸੁਰਾਮ ਸੋ ॥
raam baach parasuraam so |Speech of Ram addressed to Parashuram:
ਸ੍ਵੈਯਾ ॥
svaiyaa |SWAYYA
ਬੋਲ ਕਹੇ ਸੁ ਸਹੇ ਦਿਸ ਜੂ ਜੁ ਪੈ ਫੇਰਿ ਕਹੇ ਤੇ ਪੈ ਪ੍ਰਾਨ ਖ੍ਵੈਹੋ ॥
bol kahe su sahe dis joo ju pai fer kahe te pai praan khvaiho |“O Brahmin! you have already said whatever you wanted to say and if you say anything more now, you will have to risk your life.
ਬੋਲਤ ਐਂਠ ਕਹਾ ਸਠ ਜਿਉ ਸਭ ਦਾਤ ਤੁਰਾਇ ਅਬੈ ਘਰਿ ਜੈਹੋ ॥
bolat aaintth kahaa satth jiau sabh daat turaae abai ghar jaiho |“O fool! why do you speak with such pride, you will have to go now to your home after getting your teeth broken and after receiving good tharashin.
ਧੀਰ ਤਬੈ ਲਹਿਹੈ ਤੁਮ ਕਉ ਜਦ ਭੀਰ ਪਰੀ ਇਕ ਤੀਰ ਚਲੈਹੋ ॥
dheer tabai lahihai tum kau jad bheer paree ik teer chalaiho |“I am seeing you with patience if I consider it necessary, then I shall have to discharge only one arrow.
ਬਾਤ ਸੰਭਾਰ ਕਹੋ ਮੁਖਿ ਤੇ ਇਨ ਬਾਤਨ ਕੋ ਅਬ ਹੀ ਫਲਿ ਪੈਹੋ ॥੧੫੧॥
baat sanbhaar kaho mukh te in baatan ko ab hee fal paiho |151|“Therefore talk with restraint, otherwise you will receive the reward for such talk just now.”151.
ਪਰਸੁ ਰਾਮ ਬਾਚ ॥

ਤਉ ਤੁਮ ਸਾਚ ਲਖੋ ਮਨ ਮੈ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਜਉ ਤੁਮ ਰਾਮ ਵਤਾਰ ਕਹਾਓ ॥
tau tum saach lakho man mai prabh jau tum raam vataar kahaao |“You should then deem it true that if you are called Ramvtar,
ਰੁਦ੍ਰ ਕੁਵੰਡ ਬਿਹੰਡੀਯ ਜਿਉ ਕਰਿ ਤਿਉ ਅਪਨੋ ਬਲ ਮੋਹਿ ਦਿਖਾਓ ॥
rudr kuvandd bihanddeey jiau kar tiau apano bal mohi dikhaao |“Then the way you have broken the bow of Shiva, show me your strength in the same way
ਤਉ ਹੀ ਗਦਾ ਕਰ ਸਾਰੰਗ ਚਕ੍ਰ ਲਤਾ ਭ੍ਰਿਗਾ ਕੀ ਉਰ ਮਧ ਸੁਹਾਓ ॥
tau hee gadaa kar saarang chakr lataa bhrigaa kee ur madh suhaao |“Show me your mace, discus, bow and also the mark of the stroke of the foot of sage Bhrigu.
ਮੇਰੋ ਉਤਾਰ ਕੁਵੰਡ ਮਹਾਬਲ ਮੋਹੂ ਕਉ ਆਜ ਚੜਾਇ ਦਿਖਾਓ ॥੧੫੨॥
mero utaar kuvandd mahaabal mohoo kau aaj charraae dikhaao |152|“Alongwith this dismount my mighty bow and pull its string.”152.

ਸ੍ਰੀ ਰਘੁਬੀਰ ਸਿਰੋਮਨ ਸੂਰ ਕੁਵੰਡ ਲਯੋ ਕਰ ਮੈ ਹਸਿ ਕੈ ॥
sree raghubeer siroman soor kuvandd layo kar mai has kai |Ram, the supreme hero took the bow in his hand smilingly
ਲੀਅ ਚਾਪ ਚਟਾਕ ਚੜਾਇ ਬਲੀ ਖਟ ਟੂਕ ਕਰਯੋ ਛਿਨ ਮੈ ਕਸਿ ਕੈ ॥
leea chaap chattaak charraae balee khatt ttook karayo chhin mai kas kai |Pulled its string and tightening the arrow, broke it into two pieces.
ਨਭ ਕੀ ਗਤਿ ਤਾਹਿ ਹਤੀ ਸਰ ਸੋ ਅਧ ਬੀਚ ਹੀ ਬਾਤ ਰਹੀ ਬਸਿ ਕੈ ॥
nabh kee gat taeh hatee sar so adh beech hee baat rahee bas kai |On breaking, the bow produced such a dreadful sound as if the arrow had struck the chest of the sky which gad burst.
ਨ ਬਸਾਤ ਕਛੂ ਨਟ ਕੇ ਬਟ ਜਯੋਂ ਭਵ ਪਾਸ ਨਿਸੰਗਿ ਰਹੈ ਫਸਿ ਕੈ ॥੧੫੩॥
n basaat kachhoo natt ke batt jayon bhav paas nisang rahai fas kai |153|The manner in which the dancer jumps on the rope, in the same way the whole universe shook on the breaking of the bow and remained entangled within the two pieces of the bow.153.
ਇਤਿ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਰਾਮ ਜੁਧ ਜਯਤ ॥੨॥
eit sree raam judh jayat |2|End of the description of Ram’s victory in war.2.
ਅਥ ਅਉਧ ਪ੍ਰਵੇਸ ਕਥਨੰ ॥

ਭੇਟ ਭੁਜਾ ਭਰਿ ਅੰਕਿ ਭਲੇ ਭਰਿ ਨੈਨ ਦੋਊ ਨਿਰਖੇ ਰਘੁਰਾਈ ॥
bhett bhujaa bhar ank bhale bhar nain doaoo nirakhe raghuraaee |With tears of joy in both his eyes and meeting affectionately with his people Ram entered Ayodhya.
ਗੁੰਜਤ ਭ੍ਰਿੰਗ ਕਪੋਲਨ ਊਪਰ ਨਾਗ ਲਵੰਗ ਰਹੇ ਲਿਵ ਲਾਈ ॥
gunjat bhring kapolan aoopar naag lavang rahe liv laaee |The black bees were humming on the cheeks and the braids of long hair of Sita were hanging like the Nagas looking towards her face.
ਕੰਜ ਕੁਰੰਗ ਕਲਾ ਨਿਧ ਕੇਹਰਿ ਕੋਕਿਲ ਹੇਰ ਹੀਏ ਹਹਰਾਈ ॥
kanj kurang kalaa nidh kehar kokil her hee haharaaee |The lotus, deer, moon, lioness and nightingale were perplexed in their minds and seeing her (eyes, agility, beauty, courage and sweet voice respectively).
ਬਾਲ ਲਖੈਂ ਛਬਿ ਖਾਟ ਪਰੈਂ ਨਹਿ ਬਾਟ ਚਲੈ ਨਿਰਖੇ ਅਧਿਕਾਈ ॥੧੫੪॥
baal lakhain chhab khaatt parain neh baatt chalai nirakhe adhikaaee |154|The children, seeing her beauty, also were falling unconscious and the travelers abandoning their path, were looking at her.154.
ਸੀਅ ਰਹੀ ਮੁਰਛਾਇ ਮਨੈ ਰਨਿ ਰਾਮ ਕਹਾ ਮਨ ਬਾਤ ਧਰੈਂਗੇ ॥
seea rahee murachhaae manai ran raam kahaa man baat dharainge |Sita was getting worried on reflecting whether Ram will agree with her sayings or not
ਤੋਰਿ ਸਰਾਸਨਿ ਸੰਕਰ ਕੋ ਜਿਮ ਮੋਹਿ ਬਰਿਓ ਤਿਮ ਅਉਰ ਬਰੈਂਗੇ ॥
tor saraasan sankar ko jim mohi bario tim aaur barainge |And also whether it can happen that Ram may wed another woman like wedding me on breaking the bow of Shiva.
ਦੂਸਰ ਬਯਾਹ ਬਧੂ ਅਬ ਹੀ ਮਨ ਤੇ ਮੁਹਿ ਨਾਥ ਬਿਸਾਰ ਡਰੈਂਗੇ ॥
doosar bayaah badhoo ab hee man te muhi naath bisaar ddarainge |If he thinks another marriage in his mind, then her Lord on forgetting her, will fill her life definitely with unrest.
ਦੇਖਤ ਹੌ ਨਿਜ ਭਾਗ ਭਲੇ ਬਿਧ ਆਜ ਕਹਾ ਇਹ ਠੌਰ ਕਰੈਂਗੇ ॥੧੫੫॥
dekhat hau nij bhaag bhale bidh aaj kahaa ih tthauar karainge |155|Let us see that is recorded in my fate and what he will do in future?155.
ਤਉ ਹੀ ਲਉ ਰਾਮ ਜਿਤੇ ਦਿਜ ਕਉ ਅਪਨੇ ਦਲ ਆਇ ਬਜਾਇ ਬਧਾਈ ॥
tau hee lau raam jite dij kau apane dal aae bajaae badhaaee |At that same time, the groups of Brahmins came forward and began and thither in joy.
ਭਗੁਲ ਲੋਕ ਫਿਰੈ ਸਭ ਹੀ ਰਣ ਮੋ ਲਖਿ ਰਾਘਵ ਕੀ ਅਧਕਾਈ ॥
bhagul lok firai sabh hee ran mo lakh raaghav kee adhakaaee |Hearing about the victory of Ram in the war, all the people ran hither and thither in joy.
ਸੀਅ ਰਹੀ ਰਨ ਰਾਮ ਜਿਤੇ ਅਵਧੇਸਰ ਬਾਤ ਜਬੈ ਸੁਨਿ ਪਾਈ ॥
seea rahee ran raam jite avadhesar baat jabai sun paaee |When Dasrath came to know that after conquering Sita, Ram has also conquered the war,
ਫੂਲਿ ਗ੍ਯੋ ਅਤਿ ਹੀ ਮਨ ਮੈ ਧਨ ਕੇ ਘਨ ਕੀ ਬਰਖਾ ਬਰਖਾਈ ॥੧੫੬॥
fool gayo at hee man mai dhan ke ghan kee barakhaa barakhaaee |156|Then his delight knew no bounds and he showered the wealth like the rain of clouds.156.
ਬੰਦਨਵਾਰ ਬਧੀ ਸਭ ਹੀ ਦਰ ਚੰਦਨ ਸੌ ਛਿਰਕੇ ਗ੍ਰਹ ਸਾਰੇ ॥
bandanavaar badhee sabh hee dar chandan sau chhirake grah saare |The doors of all the subjects were bedecked with greetings and the sandalwood was sprinkled over all the houses.
ਕੇਸਰ ਡਾਰਿ ਬਰਾਤਨ ਪੈ ਸਭ ਹੀ ਜਨ ਹੁਇ ਪੁਰਹੂਤ ਪਧਾਰੇ ॥
kesar ddaar baraatan pai sabh hee jan hue purahoot padhaare |Saffron was sprinkled over all the companions (of Ram) and it seemed that Indra was entering his city.
ਬਾਜਤ ਤਾਲ ਮੁਚੰਗ ਪਖਾਵਜ ਨਾਚਤ ਕੋਟਨਿ ਕੋਟਿ ਅਖਾਰੇ ॥
baajat taal muchang pakhaavaj naachat kottan kott akhaare |The drums and other musical instruments resounded and the dances of various kinds were arranged.
ਆਨਿ ਮਿਲੇ ਸਭ ਹੀ ਅਗੂਆ ਸੁਤ ਕਉ ਪਿਤੁ ਲੈ ਪੁਰ ਅਉਧ ਸਿਧਾਰੇ ॥੧੫੭॥
aan mile sabh hee agooaa sut kau pit lai pur aaudh sidhaare |157|All the people advanced to meet Ram and the father Dasrath took his son with him and reached Oudhpuri (in his palaces).157.

poot tihoon kau rachayo biyaahaa |With great enthusiasm the marriage of the three remaining sons was fixed.
