ਜਿਹ ਸਮ ਤੁਲ ਨ ਬ੍ਰਹਮ ਸਵਾਰੀ ॥੧॥
jih sam tul na braham savaaree |1|Brahma had not created anyone else like him. 1.
ਤਾ ਕੋ ਨੇਹ ਏਕ ਸੌ ਲਾਗੋ ॥
taa ko neh ek sau laago |She fell in love with a person
ਜਾ ਤੇ ਲਾਜ ਛਾਡ ਤਨ ਭਾਗੋ ॥
jaa te laaj chhaadd tan bhaago |Due to which she left the lodge and ran away.
ਅਘਟ ਸਿੰਘ ਤਿਹ ਨਾਮ ਭਨਿਜੈ ॥
aghatt singh tih naam bhanijai |His name was Aghat Singh.
ਕੋ ਦੂਜਾ ਪਟਤਰ ਤਿਹ ਦਿਜੈ ॥੨॥
ko doojaa pattatar tih dijai |2|There was no one else who could be compared to him. 2.
ਨਿਤਿਪ੍ਰਤਿ ਤਿਹ ਤ੍ਰਿਯ ਬੋਲਿ ਪਠਾਵਤ ॥
nitiprat tih triy bol patthaavat |That woman used to call him everyday
ਕਾਮ ਭੋਗ ਤਿਹ ਸਾਥ ਕਮਾਵਤ ॥
kaam bhog tih saath kamaavat |And used to do Rati Keli with him.
ਤਬ ਲੌ ਤਹਾ ਨਰਾਧਿਪ ਆਯੋ ॥
tab lau tahaa naraadhip aayo |By then the king came there.
ਤ੍ਰਿਯ ਚਰਿਤ੍ਰ ਇਹ ਭਾਤਿ ਬਨਾਯੋ ॥੩॥
triy charitr ih bhaat banaayo |3|Rani played the character like this. 3.
ਤੁਮਰੇ ਕੇਸ ਭੂਪ ਬਿਕਰਾਰਾ ॥
tumare kes bhoop bikaraaraa |O Rajan! Your hair is so scary.
ਸਹੇ ਨ ਮੋ ਤੇ ਜਾਤ ਸੁਧਾਰਾ ॥
sahe na mo te jaat sudhaaraa |Can't stand me
ਪ੍ਰਥਮਹਿ ਰੋਮ ਮੂੰਡਿ ਤੁਮ ਆਵਹੁ ॥
prathameh rom moondd tum aavahu |First come clean your hair,
ਬਹੁਰਿ ਹਮਾਰੀ ਸੇਜ ਸੁਹਾਵਹੁ ॥੪॥
bahur hamaaree sej suhaavahu |4|Then come and be adorned on my sage. 4.
ਜਬ ਨ੍ਰਿਪ ਗਯੋ ਰੋਮ ਮੂੰਡਿਨ ਹਿਤ ॥
jab nrip gayo rom moonddin hit |When the king went to shave his hair,
ਰਾਨੀ ਅਧਿਕ ਪ੍ਰਸੰਨ੍ਯ ਭਈ ਚਿਤ ॥
raanee adhik prasanay bhee chit |So the queen was very happy in her heart.
ਛਿਦ੍ਰ ਤਾਕਿ ਨਿਜੁ ਮੀਤ ਲੁਕਾਯੋ ॥
chhidr taak nij meet lukaayo |Seeing (someone) Maghora hid his friend.
ਮੂਰਖ ਭੂਪ ਭੇਦ ਨਹਿ ਪਾਯੋ ॥੫॥
moorakh bhoop bhed neh paayo |5|The foolish king could not distinguish. 5.

ਸੁਨੁ ਰਾਜਾ ਇਕ ਔਰ ਕਹਾਨੀ ॥
sun raajaa ik aauar kahaanee |O Rajan! Listen to another (character) story,
ਜਿਹ ਬਿਧਿ ਕਿਯਾ ਰਾਵ ਸੰਗ ਰਾਨੀ ॥
jih bidh kiyaa raav sang raanee |As the queen did with the king.
ਗਨਪਤਿ ਸਿੰਘ ਏਕ ਰਾਜਾ ਬਰ ॥
ganapat singh ek raajaa bar |There was a good king named Ganapati Singh.
ਸਤ੍ਰੁ ਕੰਪਤ ਤਾ ਕੇ ਡਰ ਘਰ ਘਰ ॥੧॥
satru kanpat taa ke ddar ghar ghar |1|Fearing him, enemies used to tremble from house to house. 1.
ਚੰਚਲ ਦੇ ਰਾਜਾ ਕੀ ਨਾਰੀ ॥
chanchal de raajaa kee naaree |(Dei) was the queen of the king of Chanchal,
ਜਿਸੁ ਸਮ ਦੁਤਿਯ ਨ ਕਹੂੰ ਹਮਾਰੀ ॥
jis sam dutiy na kahoon hamaaree |Like whom there was no other woman of ours.
ਅਵਰ ਰਾਨਿਯਨ ਕੇ ਘਰ ਆਵੈ ॥
avar raaniyan ke ghar aavai |He (the king) used to come to the houses of other queens,
ਤਾ ਕੌ ਕਬ ਹੀ ਮੁਖ ਨ ਦਿਖਾਵੈ ॥੨॥
taa kau kab hee mukh na dikhaavai |2|But he never showed his face. 2.
ਰਾਨੀ ਇਨ ਬਾਤਨ ਤੇ ਜਰੀ ॥
raanee in baatan te jaree |Rani was burnt after talking about this
ਪਤਿ ਬਧ ਕੀ ਇਛਾ ਜਿਯ ਧਰੀ ॥
pat badh kee ichhaa jiy dharee |And the desire to kill her husband was kept in mind.
ਔਰ ਨਾਰਿ ਕੋ ਧਰਿ ਕਰਿ ਭੇਸਾ ॥
aauar naar ko dhar kar bhesaa |Disguised as another woman
ਨਿਜੁ ਪਤਿ ਕੇ ਗ੍ਰਿਹ ਕਿਯਾ ਪ੍ਰਵੇਸਾ ॥੩॥
nij pat ke grih kiyaa pravesaa |3|He entered the king's house. 3.
ਅਪਨੀ ਨਾਰਿ ਨ ਨ੍ਰਿਪਤਿਹ ਜਾਨਾ ॥
apanee naar na nripatih jaanaa |The king did not recognize her as his wife
ਅਧਿਕ ਰੂਪ ਲਖਿ ਤਾਹਿ ਲੁਭਾਨਾ ॥
adhik roop lakh taeh lubhaanaa |And was tempted to see her beautiful form.
ਭਈ ਰੈਨਿ ਤਬ ਲਈ ਬੁਲਾਇ ॥
bhee rain tab lee bulaae |When night fell, he was called
ਭੋਗ ਕੀਯਾ ਤਾ ਸੌ ਲਪਟਾਇ ॥੪॥
bhog keeyaa taa sau lapattaae |4|And embraced him and enjoyed union. 4.
ਯੌ ਬਤਿਯਾ ਤਿਹ ਸਾਥ ਉਚਾਰੀ ॥
yau batiyaa tih saath uchaaree |(The queen) spoke thus to the king
ਹੈ ਛਿਨਾਰ ਨ੍ਰਿਪ ਨਾਰ ਤਿਹਾਰੀ ॥
hai chhinaar nrip naar tihaaree |That your wife is very adulterous.
ਏਕ ਪੁਰਖ ਕੋ ਧਾਮ ਬੁਲਾਵਤ ॥
ek purakh ko dhaam bulaavat |A man calls home
ਮੁਹਿ ਨਿਰਖਤ ਤਾ ਸੌ ਲਪਟਾਵਤ ॥੫॥
muhi nirakhat taa sau lapattaavat |5|And seeing me crying, she clings to him. 5.
ਯੌ ਨ੍ਰਿਪ ਸੋ ਤਿਨ ਕਹੀ ਬਨਾਇ ॥
yau nrip so tin kahee banaae |He made this (talk) and said to the king
ਅਤਿ ਨਿਜੁ ਪਤਿ ਕਹ ਰਿਸਿ ਉਪਜਾਇ ॥
at nij pat kah ris upajaae |And filled her husband's heart with great anger.
ਲਖਿਨ ਚਲਾ ਭੂਪਤ ਤਿਹ ਧਾਈ ॥
lakhin chalaa bhoopat tih dhaaee |The king ran to see him
ਧਾਮ ਆਪਨਾਗਮ ਤ੍ਰਿਯ ਆਈ ॥੬॥
dhaam aapanaagam triy aaee |6|And (there) the woman also reached her home already. 6.
ਨਿਜੁ ਤਨੁ ਭੇਸ ਪੁਰਖ ਕੋ ਧਾਰੀ ॥
nij tan bhes purakh ko dhaaree |(Coming home) he put on a man's armor
ਗਈ ਸਵਤਿ ਕੇ ਧਾਮ ਸੁਧਾਰੀ ॥
gee savat ke dhaam sudhaaree |And went to the house of Sonkan.
ਆਗੇ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਿ ਹੁਤੀ ਸੰਗ ਜਾ ਕੇ ॥
aage preet hutee sang jaa ke |(of the king) with whom there was further love,
ਬੈਠੀ ਜਾਇ ਸੇਜ ਚੜਿ ਤਾ ਕੇ ॥੭॥
baitthee jaae sej charr taa ke |7|She sat on his sedge. 7.
ਤਬਿ ਲਗਿ ਤਹਾ ਨਰਾਧਿਪ ਆਯੋ ॥
tab lag tahaa naraadhip aayo |By then the king came there
