ਦੁਹੂੰ ਹਾਥ ਦ੍ਰਿੜ ਬਦਨ ਧਰਤ ਭੀ ਜਾਇ ਕੈ ॥
duhoon haath drirr badan dharat bhee jaae kai |She went (home) and firmly placed both hands on (husband's) face.
ਬਾਇ ਭਈ ਮੁਰਰਾਯੌ ਦਈ ਉਡਾਇ ਕੈ ॥
baae bhee muraraayau dee uddaae kai |(It) blew up (that my husband) was stricken with Bai (disease).
ਮੂੰਦਿ ਮੂੰਦਿ ਮੁਖ ਰਖਤ ਕਹਾਊਾਂ ਕਰਤ ਹੈ ॥
moond moond mukh rakhat kahaaooaan karat hai |(She) holds his mouth tightly (and says) what is he doing.
ਹੋ ਦੇਖਹੁ ਲੋਗ ਸਭਾਇ ਪਿਯਾ ਮੁਰ ਮਰਤ ਹੈ ॥੯॥
ho dekhahu log sabhaae piyaa mur marat hai |9|Everyone! Look, my husband is dying. 9.

ਜ੍ਯੋਂ ਉਹ ਚਹਤ ਕਿ ਹਾਇ ਪੁਕਾਰੈ ॥
jayon uh chahat ki haae pukaarai |As soon as he wants to shout 'hi hi'
ਮੋਰਿ ਆਨਿ ਕੋਊ ਪ੍ਰਾਨ ਉਬਾਰੈ ॥
mor aan koaoo praan ubaarai |That someone should come and save my life.
ਤ੍ਯੋਂ ਤ੍ਰਿਯ ਮੂੰਦਿ ਮੂੰਦਿ ਮੁਖ ਲੇਈ ॥
tayon triy moond moond mukh leee |That's why the woman shut her mouth
ਨਿਕਸ ਨ ਸ੍ਵਾਸਨ ਬਾਹਰ ਦੇਈ ॥੧੦॥
nikas na svaasan baahar deee |10|And does not let his breath go out. 10.
ਅੜਿਲ ॥

ਸ੍ਵਾਸਾਕੁਲ ਹ੍ਵੈ ਭੂਮਿ ਮੁਰਛਨਾ ਹ੍ਵੈ ਗਿਰਿਯੋ ॥
svaasaakul hvai bhoom murachhanaa hvai giriyo |With a suffocation of breath (he) fainted and fell on the ground.
ਗ੍ਰਾਮ ਬਾਸਿਯਨ ਆਨਿ ਧਰਿਯੋ ਆਂਖਿਨ ਹਿਰਿਯੋ ॥
graam baasiyan aan dhariyo aankhin hiriyo |The villagers came and caught him and saw (everything) with their eyes.
ਜਿਯਤ ਕਛੂ ਤ੍ਰਿਯ ਜਾਨਿ ਗਈ ਲਪਟਾਇ ਕੈ ॥
jiyat kachhoo triy jaan gee lapattaae kai |Seeing (him) somewhat alive, the woman (then clung to him).
ਹੋ ਮਲਿ ਦਲ ਚੂਤ੍ਰਨ ਸੌ ਪਿਯ ਦਯੋ ਖਪਾਇ ਕੈ ॥੧੧॥
ho mal dal chootran sau piy dayo khapaae kai |11|And by masal (or trampling) the husband with the buttocks (meaning killed). 11.
ਅਰਧ ਦੁਪਹਰੀ ਜਿਨ ਕਰ ਪਿਯਹਿ ਸੰਘਾਰਿਯੋ ॥
aradh dupaharee jin kar piyeh sanghaariyo |At noon he killed the husband with (his) hand
ਗ੍ਰਾਮ ਬਾਸਿਯਨ ਠਾਢੇ ਚਰਿਤ ਨਿਹਾਰਿਯੋ ॥
graam baasiyan tthaadte charit nihaariyo |And the inhabitants of the village stood and saw (all this) character.
ਮੂੰਦਿ ਮੂੰਦਿ ਮੁਖ ਨਾਕ ਹਹਾ ਕਹਿ ਕੈ ਰਹੀ ॥
moond moond mukh naak hahaa keh kai rahee |Her mouth and nose kept whispering 'hi hi'
ਹੋ ਬਾਤ ਰੋਗ ਪਤਿ ਮਰੇ ਨ ਬੈਦ ਮਿਲ੍ਯੋ ਦਈ ॥੧੨॥
ho baat rog pat mare na baid milayo dee |12|That (my) husband has died due to rheumatism and by God's will (I have not been able to find a physician). 12.

ਸਭਹਿਨ ਦੇਖਤ ਪਤਿ ਕੋ ਮਾਰਿਯੋ ॥
sabhahin dekhat pat ko maariyo |In front of everyone (the woman) killed the husband.
ਗ੍ਰਾਮ ਬਾਸਿਯਨ ਕਛੂ ਨ ਬਿਚਾਰਿਯੋ ॥
graam baasiyan kachhoo na bichaariyo |The villagers thought nothing of it.
ਪਤਿ ਕੇ ਬ੍ਰਯੋਗ ਸਦਨ ਤਜਿ ਗਈ ॥
pat ke brayog sadan taj gee |She left home due to the loss of her husband
ਤਾ ਕੇ ਰਹਤ ਜਾਇ ਗ੍ਰਿਹ ਭਈ ॥੧੩॥
taa ke rahat jaae grih bhee |13|And went to his (soldier's) house and started staying. 13.
ਇਤਿ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਚਰਿਤ੍ਰ ਪਖ੍ਯਾਨੇ ਤ੍ਰਿਯਾ ਚਰਿਤ੍ਰੇ ਮੰਤ੍ਰੀ ਭੂਪ ਸੰਬਾਦੇ ਦੋਇ ਸੌ ਇਕਤੀਸ ਚਰਿਤ੍ਰ ਸਮਾਪਤਮ ਸਤੁ ਸੁਭਮ ਸਤੁ ॥੨੩੧॥੪੩੬੫॥ਅਫਜੂੰ॥
eit sree charitr pakhayaane triyaa charitre mantree bhoop sanbaade doe sau ikatees charitr samaapatam sat subham sat |231|4365|afajoon|Here ends the 231st chapter of Mantri Bhup Samvad of Tria Charitra of Sri Charitropakhyan, all is auspicious. 231.4365. goes on

ਇਕ ਰਾਜਾ ਮੁਲਤਾਨ ਕੋ ਬਿਰਧ ਛਤ੍ਰ ਤਿਹ ਨਾਮ ॥
eik raajaa mulataan ko biradh chhatr tih naam |There was a king of Multan named Virdh Chhatra.
ਬਿਰਧ ਦੇਹ ਤਾ ਕੋ ਰਹੈ ਜਾਨਤ ਸਿਗਰੋ ਗ੍ਰਾਮ ॥੧॥
biradh deh taa ko rahai jaanat sigaro graam |1|The whole village knew that his body has become old. 1.

ਤਾ ਕੇ ਧਾਮ ਪੁਤ੍ਰ ਨਹਿ ਭਯੋ ॥
taa ke dhaam putr neh bhayo |No son was born in his house
ਰਾਜਾ ਅਧਿਕ ਬਿਰਧ ਹ੍ਵੈ ਗਯੋ ॥
raajaa adhik biradh hvai gayo |And the king grew very old.
ਏਕ ਨਾਰਿ ਤਬ ਔਰ ਬ੍ਯਾਹੀ ॥
ek naar tab aauar bayaahee |He then married another woman,
ਅਧਿਕ ਰੂਪ ਜਾ ਕੇ ਤਨ ਆਹੀ ॥੨॥
adhik roop jaa ke tan aahee |2|Whose body was very shapely. 2.
ਸ੍ਰੀ ਬਡਡ੍ਰਯਾਛ ਮਤੀ ਜਗ ਕਹੈ ॥
sree baddaddrayaachh matee jag kahai |All the people in the world used to call him Baddyach Mati.
ਜਿਹ ਲਖਿ ਮਦਨ ਥਕਿਤ ਹ੍ਵੈ ਰਹੈ ॥
jih lakh madan thakit hvai rahai |Seeing her beauty, even Kama Dev used to get tired (that is, he would get embarrassed).
ਸੋ ਰਾਨੀ ਤਰੁਨੀ ਜਬ ਭਈ ॥
so raanee tarunee jab bhee |When that queen became young
ਮਦਨ ਕੁਮਾਰ ਨਿਰਖਿ ਕਰ ਲਈ ॥੩॥
madan kumaar nirakh kar lee |3|So he saw (a man) named Madan Kumar. 3.
ਤਾ ਦਿਨ ਤੇ ਹਰ ਅਰਿ ਬਸ ਭਈ ॥
taa din te har ar bas bhee |From that day she became the abode of Kam Dev ('Har Ari').
ਗ੍ਰਿਹ ਕੀ ਭੂਲਿ ਸਕਲ ਸੁਧਿ ਗਈ ॥
grih kee bhool sakal sudh gee |And all the wisdom of the house was forgotten.
ਪਠੈ ਸਹਚਰੀ ਤਾਹਿ ਬੁਲਾਯੋ ॥
patthai sahacharee taeh bulaayo |(He) sent Sakhi and called him
ਕਾਮ ਭੋਗ ਰੁਚਿ ਮਾਨਿ ਕਮਾਯੋ ॥੪॥
kaam bhog ruch maan kamaayo |4|And indulged in sexual intercourse with him. 4.
ਅੜਿਲ ॥

ਤਰੁਨ ਪੁਰਖ ਕੌ ਤਰੁਨਿ ਜਦਿਨ ਤ੍ਰਿਯ ਪਾਵਈ ॥
tarun purakh kau tarun jadin triy paavee |The day a young woman gets a young man
ਤਨਿਕ ਨ ਛੋਰਿਯੋ ਚਹਤ ਗਰੇ ਲਪਟਾਵਈ ॥
tanik na chhoriyo chahat gare lapattaavee |She does not want to leave (him) even for a second and clings to (his) neck.
ਨਿਰਖਿ ਮਗਨ ਹ੍ਵੈ ਰਹਤ ਸਜਨ ਕੇ ਰੂਪ ਮੈ ॥
nirakh magan hvai rahat sajan ke roop mai |(She) is enraptured by seeing the form of the gentleman,
ਹੋ ਜਨੁ ਧਨੁ ਚਲਿਯੋ ਹਰਾਇ ਜੁਆਰੀ ਜੂਪ ਮੈ ॥੫॥
ho jan dhan chaliyo haraae juaaree joop mai |5|As if a gambler had lost money in gambling. 5.
ਬਿਰਧ ਛਤ੍ਰ ਤਬ ਲਗੇ ਪਹੂਚ੍ਯੋ ਆਨਿ ਕਰਿ ॥
biradh chhatr tab lage pahoochayo aan kar |By then King Virdha Chhatra reached there.
ਰਾਨੀ ਲਯੋ ਦੁਰਾਇ ਮਿਤ੍ਰ ਹਿਤ ਮਾਨਿ ਕਰਿ ॥
raanee layo duraae mitr hit maan kar |The queen hid (him) in favor of a friend.
ਤਰੇ ਖਾਟ ਕੇ ਬਾਧਿ ਤਾਹਿ ਦ੍ਰਿੜ ਰਾਖਿਯੋ ॥
tare khaatt ke baadh taeh drirr raakhiyo |He was well bound under the bed
