ਅਉਰ ਕਿਸੁ ਤੇ ਬੈਰ ਨ ਗਹਿਹੌ ॥੩੧॥
aaur kis te bair na gahihau |31|Whatever the Lord said, I am repeating the same unto you, I do not bear enmity with anyone.31.
ਜੋ ਹਮ ਕੋ ਪਰਮੇਸੁਰ ਉਚਰਿ ਹੈ ॥
jo ham ko paramesur uchar hai |Those who will call us gods,
ਤੇ ਸਭ ਨਰਕਿ ਕੁੰਡ ਮਹਿ ਪਰਿ ਹੈ ॥
te sabh narak kundd meh par hai |Whosoever shall call me the Lord, shall fall into hell.
ਮੋ ਕੋ ਦਾਸੁ ਤਵਨ ਕਾ ਜਾਨੋ ॥
mo ko daas tavan kaa jaano |Consider me a servant of God.
ਯਾ ਮੈ ਭੇਦੁ ਨ ਰੰਚ ਪਛਾਨੋ ॥੩੨॥
yaa mai bhed na ranch pachhaano |32|Consider me as His servant and do not think of any difference between me and the Lord.32.
ਮੈ ਹੋ ਪਰਮ ਪੁਰਖ ਕੋ ਦਾਸਾ ॥
mai ho param purakh ko daasaa |I am the servant of the Supreme (God).
ਦੇਖਨਿ ਆਯੋ ਜਗਤ ਤਮਾਸਾ ॥
dekhan aayo jagat tamaasaa |I am the servant of the Supreme Purusha and hath come to see the Sport of the world.
ਜੋ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਜਗਤਿ ਕਹਾ ਸੋ ਕਹਿ ਹੋ ॥
jo prabh jagat kahaa so keh ho |What the Lord has said, I will say the same in the world
ਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਲੋਗ ਤੇ ਮੋਨਿ ਨ ਰਹਿ ਹੋ ॥੩੩॥
mrit log te mon na reh ho |33|Whatever the Lord of the world said, I say the same unto you, I cannot remain silent in this abode of death.33.
ਨਰਾਜ ਛੰਦ ॥
naraaj chhand |NAARAAJ CHHAND
ਕਹਿਯੋ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਸੁ ਭਾਖਿਹੌ ॥
kahiyo prabhoo su bhaakhihau |(Whatever) the Lord has said, that (I) will say,
ਕਿਸੂ ਨ ਕਾਨ ਰਾਖਿਹੌ ॥
kisoo na kaan raakhihau |I say only that which the Lord hath said, I do not yield to anyone else.
ਕਿਸੂ ਨ ਭੇਖ ਭੀਜਹੌ ॥
kisoo na bhekh bheejahau |Will not be affected by any fear
ਅਲੇਖ ਬੀਜ ਬੀਜਹੌ ॥੩੪॥
alekh beej beejahau |34|I do not feel pleased with any particular garb, I sow the seed of God’s Name.34.
ਪਖਾਣ ਪੂਜਿ ਹੌ ਨਹੀ ॥
pakhaan pooj hau nahee |I am not a stone-worshipper
ਨ ਭੇਖ ਭੀਜ ਹੌ ਕਹੀ ॥
n bhekh bheej hau kahee |I do not worship stones, nor I have any liking for a particular guise.
ਅਨੰਤ ਨਾਮੁ ਗਾਇਹੌ ॥
anant naam gaaeihau |I sing the Name (of the Lord),
ਪਰਮ ਪੁਰਖ ਪਾਇਹੌ ॥੩੫॥
param purakh paaeihau |35|I sing infinite Names (of the Lord), and meet the Supreme Purusha.35.
ਜਟਾ ਨ ਸੀਸ ਧਾਰਿਹੌ ॥
jattaa na sees dhaarihau |(I) will not hold Jata on Sis
ਨ ਮੁੰਦ੍ਰਕਾ ਸੁ ਧਾਰਿਹੌ ॥
n mundrakaa su dhaarihau |I do not wear matted hair on my head, nor do I put rings in my ears.
ਨ ਕਾਨਿ ਕਾਹੂੰ ਕੀ ਧਰੋ ॥
n kaan kaahoon kee dharo |I don't care about anyone,
ਕਹਿਯੋ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਸੁ ਮੈ ਕਰੋ ॥੩੬॥
kahiyo prabhoo su mai karo |36|I do not pay attention to anyone else, all my actions are at the bidding of the Lord.36.
ਭਜੋ ਸੁ ਏਕੁ ਨਾਮਯੰ ॥
bhajo su ek naamayan |(I will sing only) one (Lord's) name
ਜੁ ਕਾਮ ਸਰਬ ਠਾਮਯੰ ॥
ju kaam sarab tthaamayan |I recite only the Name of the Lord, which is useful at all places.
ਨ ਜਾਪ ਆਨ ਕੋ ਜਪੋ ॥
n jaap aan ko japo |(I) will not chant anyone else's chant
ਨ ਅਉਰ ਥਾਪਨਾ ਥਪੋ ॥੩੭॥
n aaur thaapanaa thapo |37|I do not meditate on anyone else, nor do I seek assistance from any other quarter.37.
ਬਿਅੰਤਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਧਿਆਇਹੌ ॥
biant naam dhiaaeihau |(I will) meditate on the (infinite) name of the Lord
ਪਰਮ ਜੋਤਿ ਪਾਇਹੌ ॥
param jot paaeihau |I recite infinite Names and attain the Supreme light.
ਨ ਧਿਆਨ ਆਨ ਕੋ ਧਰੋ ॥
n dhiaan aan ko dharo |(I) will not pay attention to any other (Ishta-dev).
ਨ ਨਾਮੁ ਆਨਿ ਉਚਰੋ ॥੩੮॥
n naam aan ucharo |38|I do not meditate on anyone else, nor do I repeat the Name of anyone else.38.
ਤਵਿਕ ਨਾਮ ਰਤਿਯੰ ॥
tavik naam ratiyan |I will be dyed (completely) in your one name,
ਨ ਆਨ ਮਾਨ ਮਤਿਯੰ ॥
n aan maan matiyan |I am absorbed only in the Name of the Lord, and honour none else.
ਪਰਮ ਧਿਆਨ ਧਾਰੀਯੰ ॥
param dhiaan dhaareeyan |(I will bear) the supreme meditation (of God) (in the heart).
ਅਨੰਤ ਪਾਪ ਟਾਰੀਯੰ ॥੩੯॥
anant paap ttaareeyan |39|By meditating on the Supreme, I am absolved of infinite sins.39.
ਤੁਮੇਵ ਰੂਪ ਰਾਚਿਯੰ ॥
tumev roop raachiyan |I will be absorbed in your form,
ਨ ਆਨ ਦਾਨ ਮਾਚਿਯੰ ॥
n aan daan maachiyan |I am absorbed only in His Sight, and do not attend to any other charitable action.
ਤਵਕਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਉਚਾਰੀਯੰ ॥
tavak naam uchaareeyan |I will pronounce only one name of yours
ਅਨੰਤ ਦੂਖ ਟਾਰੀਯੰ ॥੪੦॥
anant dookh ttaareeyan |40|By uttering only His Name, I am absolved of infinite sorrows.40.
ਚੌਪਈ ॥
chauapee |CHAUPAI
ਜਿਨਿ ਜਿਨਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਤਿਹਾਰੋ ਧਿਆਇਆ ॥
jin jin naam tihaaro dhiaaeaa |He who has worshiped your name,
ਦੂਖ ਪਾਪ ਤਿਨ ਨਿਕਟਿ ਨ ਆਇਆ ॥
dookh paap tin nikatt na aaeaa |Those who mediated on the Name of the Lord, none of the sorrows and sins came near them.
ਜੇ ਜੇ ਅਉਰ ਧਿਆਨ ਕੋ ਧਰਹੀ ॥
je je aaur dhiaan ko dharahee |Those who seek the attention of others,
ਬਹਿਸਿ ਬਹਿਸਿ ਬਾਦਨ ਤੇ ਮਰਹੀ ॥੪੧॥
bahis bahis baadan te marahee |41|Those who meditated on any other Entiey, they ended themselves in futile discussions and quarrels.41.
ਹਮ ਇਹ ਕਾਜ ਜਗਤ ਮੋ ਆਏ ॥
ham ih kaaj jagat mo aae |This is the work (to do) we have come into the world.
ਧਰਮ ਹੇਤ ਗੁਰਦੇਵਿ ਪਠਾਏ ॥
dharam het guradev patthaae |I have been sent into this world by the Preceptor-Lord to propagate Dharma (righteousness).
ਜਹਾ ਤਹਾ ਤੁਮ ਧਰਮ ਬਿਥਾਰੋ ॥
jahaa tahaa tum dharam bithaaro |Wherever (Sarbtra) you expand religion
ਦੁਸਟ ਦੋਖਯਨਿ ਪਕਰਿ ਪਛਾਰੋ ॥੪੨॥
dusatt dokhayan pakar pachhaaro |42|The Lord asked me to spread Dharma, and vanquish the tyrants and evil-minded persons. 42.
ਯਾਹੀ ਕਾਜ ਧਰਾ ਹਮ ਜਨਮੰ ॥
yaahee kaaj dharaa ham janaman |We have been born for this work.
ਸਮਝ ਲੇਹੁ ਸਾਧੂ ਸਭ ਮਨਮੰ ॥
samajh lehu saadhoo sabh manaman |I have taken birth of this purpose, the saints should comprehend this in their minds.
ਧਰਮ ਚਲਾਵਨ ਸੰਤ ਉਬਾਰਨ ॥
dharam chalaavan sant ubaaran |(Thus our duty is to) practice religion
ਦੁਸਟ ਸਭਨ ਕੋ ਮੂਲ ਉਪਾਰਿਨ ॥੪੩॥
dusatt sabhan ko mool upaarin |43|(I have been born) to spread Dharma, and protect saints, and root out tyrants and evil-minded persons.43.
ਜੇ ਜੇ ਭਏ ਪਹਿਲ ਅਵਤਾਰਾ ॥
je je bhe pahil avataaraa |Those who have first incarnated,
ਆਪੁ ਆਪੁ ਤਿਨ ਜਾਪੁ ਉਚਾਰਾ ॥
aap aap tin jaap uchaaraa |All the earlier incarnations caused only their names to be remembered.
ਪ੍ਰਭ ਦੋਖੀ ਕੋਈ ਨ ਬਿਦਾਰਾ ॥
prabh dokhee koee na bidaaraa |No Lord-Dokhi was destroyed
ਧਰਮ ਕਰਨ ਕੋ ਰਾਹੁ ਨ ਡਾਰਾ ॥੪੪॥
dharam karan ko raahu na ddaaraa |44|They did not strike the tyrants and did not make them follow th path of Dharma.44.
ਜੇ ਜੇ ਗਉਸ ਅੰਬੀਆ ਭਏ ॥
je je gaus anbeea bhe |Those who have become old and poor,
ਮੈ ਮੈ ਕਰਤ ਜਗਤ ਤੇ ਗਏ ॥
mai mai karat jagat te ge |All the earlier prophets ended themselves in ego.
ਮਹਾਪੁਰਖ ਕਾਹੂੰ ਨ ਪਛਾਨਾ ॥
mahaapurakh kaahoon na pachhaanaa |No one recognized Mahapurakh (Lord).
ਕਰਮ ਧਰਮ ਕੋ ਕਛੂ ਨ ਜਾਨਾ ॥੪੫॥
karam dharam ko kachhoo na jaanaa |45|And did not comprehend the supreme Purusha, they did not care for the righteous actions.45.
ਅਵਰਨ ਕੀ ਆਸਾ ਕਿਛੁ ਨਾਹੀ ॥
avaran kee aasaa kichh naahee |The hope of others is of no (significance).
ਏਕੈ ਆਸ ਧਰੋ ਮਨ ਮਾਹੀ ॥
ekai aas dharo man maahee |Have no hopes on others, rely only on the ONE Lord.
ਆਨ ਆਸ ਉਪਜਤ ਕਿਛੁ ਨਾਹੀ ॥
aan aas upajat kichh naahee |Nothing is gained by the hope of others (gods).
ਵਾ ਕੀ ਆਸ ਧਰੋ ਮਨ ਮਾਹੀ ॥੪੬॥
vaa kee aas dharo man maahee |46|The hopes on others are never fruitful, therefore, keep in your mind the hopes on the ONE Lord.46.
ਦੋਹਰਾ ॥
doharaa |DOHRA
ਕੋਈ ਪੜਤਿ ਕੁਰਾਨ ਕੋ ਕੋਈ ਪੜਤ ਪੁਰਾਨ ॥
koee parrat kuraan ko koee parrat puraan |Someone studies the Quran and someone studies the Puranas.
ਕਾਲ ਨ ਸਕਤ ਬਚਾਇਕੈ ਫੋਕਟ ਧਰਮ ਨਿਦਾਨ ॥੪੭॥
kaal na sakat bachaaeikai fokatt dharam nidaan |47|Mere reading cannot save one from death. Therefore such works are vain and do not help at the time of death.47.
ਚੌਪਈ ॥
chauapee |CHAUPAI
ਕਈ ਕੋਟਿ ਮਿਲਿ ਪੜਤ ਕੁਰਾਨਾ ॥
kee kott mil parrat kuraanaa |Many crores (of people) read the Quran together
ਬਾਚਤ ਕਿਤੇ ਪੁਰਾਨ ਅਜਾਨਾ ॥
baachat kite puraan ajaanaa |Millions of people recite the Quran and many study Puranas witout understanding the crux.
ਅੰਤਿ ਕਾਲਿ ਕੋਈ ਕਾਮ ਨ ਆਵਾ ॥
ant kaal koee kaam na aavaa |(But) at the end (of these) none works
ਦਾਵ ਕਾਲ ਕਾਹੂੰ ਨ ਬਚਾਵਾ ॥੪੮॥
daav kaal kaahoon na bachaavaa |48|It will be of no use at the time of death and none will be saved.48.
ਕਿਉ ਨ ਜਪੋ ਤਾ ਕੋ ਤੁਮ ਭਾਈ ॥
kiau na japo taa ko tum bhaaee |Hey brother! Why don't you worship him?
