ਤਾ ਸੌ ਪ੍ਰਥਮੈ ਬ੍ਯਾਹ ਕਰਾਯੋ ॥
taa sau prathamai bayaah karaayo |And married her first.
ਬਹੁਰੌ ਬ੍ਯਾਹਿ ਤਾਹਿ ਲੈ ਗਯੋ ॥
bahurau bayaeh taeh lai gayo |Then took her (Avadhuta Kanya) in marriage.
ਅਸਿ ਚਰਿਤ੍ਰ ਚੰਚਲਾ ਦਿਖਯੋ ॥੧੯॥
as charitr chanchalaa dikhayo |19|This kind of character was shown by that woman. 19.
ਪ੍ਰਥਮਹਿ ਪਾਰ ਸਮੁੰਦ ਕੈ ਗਈ ॥
prathameh paar samund kai gee |First went across the sea
ਰਾਜ ਸੁਤਹਿ ਹਰਿ ਲ੍ਯਾਵਤ ਭਈ ॥
raaj suteh har layaavat bhee |and drove away (from there) Raj Kumari.
ਬਹੁਰੌ ਮਨ ਭਾਵਤ ਪਤਿ ਕਰਿਯੋ ॥
bahurau man bhaavat pat kariyo |Then got a willing husband.
ਤ੍ਰਿਯਾ ਚਰਿਤ੍ਰ ਨ ਜਾਤ ਬਿਚਰਿਯੋ ॥੨੦॥
triyaa charitr na jaat bichariyo |20|Tria Charitra cannot be considered. 20.

ਸੀਸਸਾਰ ਕੇਤੁ ਇਕ ਰਾਜਾ ॥
seesasaar ket ik raajaa |There was a king named Sissar Ketu
ਜਾ ਸੋ ਬਿਧਿ ਦੂਸਰ ਨ ਸਾਜਾ ॥
jaa so bidh doosar na saajaa |Like which Vidhata had not created another.
ਸੀਸੈ ਸਾਰ ਦੇਇ ਤਿਹ ਰਾਨੀ ॥
seesai saar dee tih raanee |He had a queen named Sissay Sar Dei.
ਜਾ ਸਮ ਦੂਸਰ ਹ੍ਵੈ ਨ ਬਖਾਨੀ ॥੧॥
jaa sam doosar hvai na bakhaanee |1|No one else can be said to be beautiful like that. 1.
ਤਾ ਸੌ ਅਧਿਕ ਨ੍ਰਿਪਤਿ ਕੀ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਾ ॥
taa sau adhik nripat kee preetaa |The king was very fond of him.
ਨਿਸ ਦਿਨ ਰਹੈ ਤਰੁਨਿ ਮੈ ਚੀਤਾ ॥
nis din rahai tarun mai cheetaa |Night and day (that) woman lived in (his) chit.
ਕਿਤਕ ਦਿਨਨ ਰਾਨੀ ਮਰਿ ਗਈ ॥
kitak dinan raanee mar gee |After some time the queen died
ਰਾਜਾ ਕੀ ਉਦਾਸ ਮਤਿ ਭਈ ॥੨॥
raajaa kee udaas mat bhee |2|And the king's wisdom became sad. 2.
ਅਵਰ ਨਾਰਿ ਕੀ ਓਰ ਨ ਹੇਰੈ ॥
avar naar kee or na herai |He did not look at any other woman.
ਭੂਲ ਨ ਜਾਤ ਕਿਸੀ ਕੇ ਡੇਰੈ ॥
bhool na jaat kisee ke dderai |He did not go to anyone's camp even if he forgot.
ਨਾਰੀ ਔਰ ਅਧਿਕ ਦੁਖ ਪਾਵੈ ॥
naaree aauar adhik dukh paavai |Other women were very sad
ਨਾਥ ਮਿਲੇ ਬਿਨੁ ਮੈਨ ਸੰਤਾਵੈ ॥੩॥
naath mile bin main santaavai |3|Because without meeting Nath, Kama used to torment (them). 3.
ਮਿਲਿ ਬੈਠੀ ਇਕ ਦਿਨ ਸਭ ਰਾਨੀ ॥
mil baitthee ik din sabh raanee |One day all the queens gathered together
ਆਪੁ ਬਿਖੈ ਮਿਲਿ ਕਰਤ ਕਹਾਨੀ ॥
aap bikhai mil karat kahaanee |And started talking to each other.
ਇਹ ਜੜ ਪਤਿ ਮਤਿ ਕਿਨ ਹਰਿ ਲਈ ॥
eih jarr pat mat kin har lee |Who has taken away the intelligence of this foolish husband (not known).
ਕਹਾ ਭਯੋ ਰਾਨੀ ਮਰਿ ਗਈ ॥੪॥
kahaa bhayo raanee mar gee |4|What if the queen is dead. 4.
ਏਤੋ ਸੋਕ ਕਿਯੋ ਜਾ ਕੋ ਇਹ ॥
eto sok kiyo jaa ko ih |He (the king) has accepted so much pain
ਮਤਿ ਹਰਿ ਲਈ ਕਹਾ ਯਾ ਕੀ ਤਿਹ ॥
mat har lee kahaa yaa kee tih |That he has somehow taken away its intelligence.
ਹ੍ਵੈ ਹੈ ਤ੍ਰਿਯਾ ਨ੍ਰਿਪਨ ਕੇ ਘਨੀ ॥
hvai hai triyaa nripan ke ghanee |There are many women in the houses of kings.
ਸਦਾ ਸਲਾਮਤਿ ਚਹਿਯਤ ਧਨੀ ॥੫॥
sadaa salaamat chahiyat dhanee |5|(Just) the husband should always be safe. 5.
ਸਖੀ ਏਕ ਸ੍ਯਾਨੀ ਤਹ ਅਹੀ ॥
sakhee ek sayaanee tah ahee |There was a wise woman.
ਤਿਹ ਇਹ ਭਾਤਿ ਬਿਹਸਿ ਕਰਿ ਕਹੀ ॥
tih ih bhaat bihas kar kahee |She laughed and said,
ਮੈ ਨ੍ਰਿਪ ਤੇ ਤ੍ਰਿਯ ਸੋਕ ਮਿਟੈਹੌ ॥
mai nrip te triy sok mittaihau |I will remove the sorrow of the king's wife
ਬਹੁਰਿ ਤਿਹਾਰੇ ਸਾਥ ਮਿਲੈਹੌ ॥੬॥
bahur tihaare saath milaihau |6|And I will meet you again. 6.
ਜਾਰਿਕ ਪਕਰਿ ਕੋਠਰੀ ਰਾਖਾ ॥
jaarik pakar kottharee raakhaa |(He) caught a friend and locked him in a cell
ਨ੍ਰਿਪ ਕੇ ਸੁਨਤ ਐਸ ਬਿਧਿ ਭਾਖਾ ॥
nrip ke sunat aais bidh bhaakhaa |And told the king thus,
ਧ੍ਰਿਗ ਇਹ ਮੂੜ ਨ੍ਰਿਪ ਕੋ ਜੀਆ ॥
dhrig ih moorr nrip ko jeea |This king's life is cursed
ਜਿਹ ਅਬਿਬੇਕ ਬਿਬੇਕ ਨ ਕੀਆ ॥੭॥
jih abibek bibek na keea |7|Who does not (distinguish between) discretion and indiscretion.7.
ਜੁ ਤ੍ਰਿਯਾ ਔਰ ਸੌ ਭੋਗ ਕਮਾਵੈ ॥
ju triyaa aauar sau bhog kamaavai |A woman who has sex with someone else
ਬਾਤਨ ਸਾਥ ਪਤਿਹਿ ਉਰਝਾਵੈ ॥
baatan saath patihi urajhaavai |And please the husband with words only.
ਨ੍ਰਿਪ ਜੁ ਕੋਠਰੀ ਛੋਰਿ ਨਿਹਾਰੈ ॥
nrip ju kottharee chhor nihaarai |(If) the king (himself) opens his cell and sees
ਸਾਚ ਝੂਠ ਤਬ ਆਪੁ ਬਿਚਾਰੈ ॥੮॥
saach jhootth tab aap bichaarai |8|Then consider the truth and falsehood yourself. 8.
ਨ੍ਰਿਪ ਕੇ ਸ੍ਰਵਨਨ ਧੁਨਿ ਇਹ ਪਰੀ ॥
nrip ke sravanan dhun ih paree |(When) this voice rang in the ears of the king
ਤੁਰਤੁ ਕੁਠਰੀਯਾ ਜਾਇ ਉਘਰੀ ॥
turat kutthareeyaa jaae ugharee |So he went and opened the closet.
ਹੇਰਾ ਜਬ ਵਹੁ ਮਨੁਛ ਬਨਾਈ ॥
heraa jab vahu manuchh banaaee |When that person (the king) saw well
ਤਬ ਐਸੇ ਤਿਹ ਕਹਾ ਰਿਸਾਈ ॥੯॥
tab aaise tih kahaa risaaee |9|So angrily told him like this. 9.
ਇਤੋ ਸੋਕ ਹਮ ਕੀਯੋ ਨਿਕਾਜਾ ॥
eito sok ham keeyo nikaajaa |have accepted so much pain in vain.
ਇਹ ਨ ਲਹਤ ਥੋ ਐਸ ਨਿਲਾਜਾ ॥
eih na lahat tho aais nilaajaa |Didn't know (that he) was so bold.
ਅਬ ਮੈ ਰਨਿਯਨ ਅਵਰ ਬਿਹਾਰੌ ॥
ab mai raniyan avar bihaarau |Now I will have fun with other queens
