ਮਾਰਤ ਹਉ ਤੁਮ ਕੌ ਅਬ ਹੀ ਰਹੁ ਠਾਢ ਅਰੇ ਇਹ ਭਾਤ ਉਚਾਰਿਯੋ ॥

maarat hau tum kau ab hee rahu tthaadt are ih bhaat uchaariyo |

He said, “O king! stay there, I shall kill you now

ਯੌ ਕਹਿ ਕੈ ਪੁਨਿ ਸਾਰੰਗ ਕੋ ਤਨਿ ਕੈ ਸਰ ਸਤ੍ਰ ਹ੍ਰਿਦੈ ਮਹਿ ਮਾਰਿਯੋ ॥੨੧੩੭॥

yau keh kai pun saarang ko tan kai sar satr hridai meh maariyo |2137|

” Saying this and pulling his bow, he discharged an arrow into the heart of the enemy.2137.

ਸਾਰੰਗ ਤਾਨਿ ਜਬੈ ਅਰਿ ਕੋ ਬ੍ਰਿਜ ਨਾਇਕ ਤੀਛਨ ਬਾਨ ਚਲਾਯੋ ॥

saarang taan jabai ar ko brij naaeik teechhan baan chalaayo |

When Shri Krishna strung the sarang (bow) and shot a sharp arrow at the enemy,

ਲਾਗਤ ਹੀ ਗਿਰ ਭੂਮਿ ਭੂਮਾਸੁਰ ਝੂਮਿ ਪਰਿਯੋ ਜਮਲੋਕਿ ਸਿਧਾਯੋ ॥

laagat hee gir bhoom bhoomaasur jhoom pariyo jamalok sidhaayo |

When pulling his bow, Krishna discharged his sharp arrow, then being hit by the arrow, Bhumasura swung and fell down on the ground and went to the abode of Yama

ਸ੍ਰਉਨ ਲਗਿਯੋ ਨਹਿ ਤਾ ਸਰ ਕੋ ਇਹ ਭਾਤਿ ਚਲਾਕੀ ਸੌ ਪਾਰ ਪਰਾਯੋ ॥

sraun lagiyo neh taa sar ko ih bhaat chalaakee sau paar paraayo |

That arrow did not touch the blood, thus cunningly crossed (him).

ਜੋਗ ਕੇ ਸਾਧਕ ਜਿਉ ਤਨ ਤਿਯਾਗਿ ਚਲਿਯੋ ਨਭਿ ਪਾਪ ਨ ਭੇਟਨ ਪਾਯੋ ॥੨੧੩੮॥

jog ke saadhak jiau tan tiyaag chaliyo nabh paap na bhettan paayo |2138|

The arrow penetrated through his body with such swiftness that even the blood could not smear it and he like the one engaged in Yogic discipline, abandoned his body and sins, went away to heaven.2138.

ਇਤਿ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਬਚਿਤ੍ਰ ਨਾਟਕ ਗ੍ਰੰਥੇ ਕ੍ਰਿਸਨਾਵਤਾਰੇ ਭੂਮਾਸੁਰ ਬਧਹ ॥

End of the description of killing of Bhumasura in Krishnavatara in Bachittar Natak.

ਅਥ ਉਸ ਕੇ ਪੁਤ੍ਰ ਕੈ ਰਾਜ ਦੇਤ ਭੇ ਸੋਲਾ ਸਹੰਸ੍ਰ ਰਾਜ ਸੁਤਾ ਬਿਵਾਹ ਕਥਨੰ ॥

ath us ke putr kai raaj det bhe solaa sahansr raaj sutaa bivaah kathanan |

Now begins the description of giving his kingdom to his son and marriage with sixteen thousand princesses

ਸਵੈਯਾ ॥

ਐਸੀ ਦਸਾ ਜਬ ਭੀ ਇਹ ਕੀ ਤਬ ਮਾਇ ਭੂਮਾਸੁਰ ਕੀ ਸੁਨਿ ਧਾਈ ॥

aaisee dasaa jab bhee ih kee tab maae bhoomaasur kee sun dhaaee |

When it became such a condition, Bhumasura's mother heard and came running.

ਭੂਮਿ ਕੈ ਊਪਰ ਝੂਮਿ ਗਿਰੀ ਸੁਧਿ ਬਸਤ੍ਰਨ ਕੀ ਚਿਤ ਤੇ ਬਿਸਰਾਈ ॥

bhoom kai aoopar jhoom giree sudh basatran kee chit te bisaraaee |

When Bhumasura passed through such a phase, then his mother came and paying no attention to her clothes etc., she became unconscious and fell upon the earth

ਪਾਇ ਨ ਡਾਰਤ ਭੀ ਪਨੀਆ ਸੁ ਉਤਾਵਲ ਸੋ ਚਲਿ ਸ੍ਯਾਮ ਪੈ ਆਈ ॥

paae na ddaarat bhee paneea su utaaval so chal sayaam pai aaee |

She did not even put shoes on her feet and hurriedly came to Sri Krishna.

ਦੇਖਤ ਸ੍ਯਾਮ ਕੋ ਰੀਝਿ ਰਹੀ ਦੁਖ ਭੂਲਿ ਗਯੋ ਸੁ ਤੋ ਕੀਨ ਬਡਾਈ ॥੨੧੩੯॥

dekhat sayaam ko reejh rahee dukh bhool gayo su to keen baddaaee |2139|

She being greatly worried, came with bare feet to Krishna and seeing him, she forgot her affliction and became pleased.2139.

ਦੋਹਰਾ ॥

DOHRA

ਬਹੁ ਉਸਤਤਿ ਜਦੁਪਤਿ ਕਰੀ ਲੀਨੋ ਸ੍ਯਾਮ ਰਿਝਾਇ ॥

bahu usatat jadupat karee leeno sayaam rijhaae |

(He) praised a lot and pleased Krishna.

ਪਉਤ੍ਰ ਆਨਿ ਪਾਇਨ ਡਰਿਯੋ ਸੋ ਲੀਨੋ ਬਖਸਾਇ ॥੨੧੪੦॥

pautr aan paaein ddariyo so leeno bakhasaae |2140|

She praised Krishna and pleased him and her son(s) fell on the feet of Krihsna, whom he pardoned and set him free.2140.

ਸਵੈਯਾ ॥

ਭੂਪਤਿ ਤਾਹੀ ਕੋ ਬਾਲਕ ਥਾਪਿ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾਨਿਧਿ ਛੋਰਨ ਬੰਦਿ ਸਿਧਾਯੋ ॥

bhoopat taahee ko baalak thaap kripaanidh chhoran band sidhaayo |

Making his (Bhumasura's) son king, Sri Krishna went to the prison (to free the captives).

ਸੋਲਹ ਸਹੰਸ੍ਰ ਭੂਪਨ ਕੀ ਦੁਹਿਤਾ ਥੀ ਜਹਾ ਤਿਹ ਠਉਰਹਿ ਆਯੋ ॥

solah sahansr bhoopan kee duhitaa thee jahaa tih tthaureh aayo |

Placing his son on his throne, Krishna reached that place, where sixteen thousand princesses were imprisoned by Bhumasura

ਸੁੰਦਰ ਹੇਰਿ ਕੈ ਸ੍ਯਾਮ ਜੂ ਕਉ ਤਿਨ ਤ੍ਰੀਅਨ ਕੋ ਅਤਿ ਚਿਤ ਲੁਭਾਯੋ ॥

sundar her kai sayaam joo kau tin treean ko at chit lubhaayo |

Seeing the beautiful Sri Krishna, the hearts of those women (Rajkumaris) became envious.

ਯਾ ਲਖਿ ਪਾਇ ਬਿਵਾਹ ਸਭੋ ਕਰਿ ਸ੍ਯਾਮ ਭਨੈ ਜਸੁ ਡੰਕ ਬਜਾਯੋ ॥੨੧੪੧॥

yaa lakh paae bivaah sabho kar sayaam bhanai jas ddank bajaayo |2141|

Seeing the beauty of Krishna, the mind of those women was allured and Krishna also seeing their desire, married all of them and for this he received universal praise.2141.

ਜੇ ਸਭ ਜੋਰਿ ਭੂਮਾਸੁਰ ਰਾਖੀ ॥

je sabh jor bhoomaasur raakhee |

All of which (Raj Kumaris) were kept together by Bhumasura.

ਕਹਿ ਲਗਿ ਗਨਉ ਤਿਨਨ ਕੀ ਸਾਖੀ ॥

keh lag gnau tinan kee saakhee |

All of them whom Bhumasura had gathered there, what about those women should I relate here

ਤਿਨਿ ਯੌ ਕਹਿਯੋ ਇਹੀ ਹਉ ਕਰਿ ਹੋ ॥

tin yau kahiyo ihee hau kar ho |

He thus said, This is what I will do (ie say).

ਬੀਸ ਹਜਾਰ ਏਕਠੀ ਬਰਿ ਹੋ ॥੨੧੪੨॥

bees hajaar ekatthee bar ho |2142|

Krishna said, “According to their desire, I shall marry the twenty thousand women together.”2142.

ਦੋਹਰਾ ॥

ਜੁਧ ਸਮੈ ਅਤਿ ਕ੍ਰੋਧ ਹੁਇ ਜਦੁਪਤਿ ਬਧਿ ਕੈ ਤਾਹਿ ॥

judh samai at krodh hue jadupat badh kai taeh |

Being extremely angry during the war, Sri Krishna killed him

ਸੋਰਹ ਸਹਸ੍ਰ ਸੁੰਦਰੀ ਆਪਹਿ ਲਈ ਬਿਵਾਹਿ ॥੨੧੪੩॥

sorah sahasr sundaree aapeh lee bivaeh |2143|

After getting enraged and killing Bhumasura in the battle, Krishna married sixteen thousand beautiful women together.2143.

ਸਵੈਯਾ ॥

SWAYYA

ਜੁਧ ਸਮੈ ਅਤਿ ਕ੍ਰੋਧ ਹੁਇ ਸ੍ਯਾਮ ਜੂ ਸਤ੍ਰ ਸਭੈ ਛਿਨ ਮਾਹਿ ਪਛਾਰੇ ॥

judh samai at krodh hue sayaam joo satr sabhai chhin maeh pachhaare |

Being enraged in the war, Sri Krishna killed all the enemies.

ਰਾਜੁ ਦਯੋ ਫਿਰਿ ਤਾ ਸੁਤ ਕੋ ਸੁਖੁ ਦੇਤ ਭਯੋ ਤਿਨ ਸੋਕ ਨਿਵਾਰੇ ॥

raaj dayo fir taa sut ko sukh det bhayo tin sok nivaare |

Getting furious in the war, Krishna killed all his enemies in an instant and giving kingdom to the son of Bhumasura, he removed his sufferings

ਫੇਰਿ ਬਰਿਯੋ ਤ੍ਰੀਅ ਸੋਰਹ ਸਹੰਸ੍ਰ ਸੁ ਤਾ ਪੁਰ ਮੈ ਅਤਿ ਕੈ ਕੈ ਅਖਾਰੇ ॥

fer bariyo treea sorah sahansr su taa pur mai at kai kai akhaare |

Then he married sixteen thousand women and in that city (Sri Krishna) killed such.

ਬਿਪਨ ਦਾਨ ਦੈ ਲੈ ਤਿਨ ਕੋ ਸੰਗਿ ਦੁਆਰਵਤੀ ਜਦੁਰਾਇ ਸਿਧਾਰੇ ॥੨੧੪੪॥

bipan daan dai lai tin ko sang duaaravatee jaduraae sidhaare |2144|

Then after the war he married sixteen thousand women and bestowing gifts on the Brahmins, Krishna returned to Dwarka.2144.

ਸੋਰਹ ਸਹੰਸ੍ਰ ਕਉ ਸੋਰਹ ਸਹੰਸ੍ਰ ਹੀ ਧਾਮ ਦੀਏ ਸੁ ਹੁਲਾਸ ਬਢੈ ਕੈ ॥

sorah sahansr kau sorah sahansr hee dhaam dee su hulaas badtai kai |

He gave only sixteen thousand houses to sixteen thousand (wives) and increased their enthusiasm.

ਦੇਤ ਭਯੋ ਸਭ ਤ੍ਰੀਅਨ ਕੋ ਸੁਖ ਰੂਪ ਅਨੇਕਨ ਭਾਤਿ ਬਨੈ ਕੈ ॥

det bhayo sabh treean ko sukh roop anekan bhaat banai kai |

He got constructed sixteen thousand houses for the sixteen thousand women and provided comfort to all

ਐਸੇ ਲਖਿਯੋ ਸਭਹੂੰ ਹਮਰੇ ਗ੍ਰਿਹਿ ਸ੍ਯਾਮ ਬਸੈ ਨ ਬਸੈ ਅਨਤੈ ਕੈ ॥

aaise lakhiyo sabhahoon hamare grihi sayaam basai na basai anatai kai |

Everyone has come to know that Krishna resides in my house only, not in anyone else's.

ਸੋ ਕਬ ਸ੍ਯਾਮ ਪੁਰਾਨਨ ਤੇ ਸੁਨਿ ਭੇਦੁ ਕਹਿਯੋ ਸਭ ਸੰਤ ਸੁਨੈ ਕੈ ॥੨੧੪੫॥

so kab sayaam puraanan te sun bhed kahiyo sabh sant sunai kai |2145|

Everyone of them wanted Krishna to abide with her and the description of this episode the poet has recorded after reading and listening to Puranas for the sake of Saints.2145.

ਇਤਿ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਬਚਿਤ੍ਰ ਨਾਟਕ ਗ੍ਰੰਥੇ ਭੂਮਾਸੁਰ ਬਧ ਕੈ ਸੁਤ ਕੋ ਰਾਜੁ ਦੇਇ ਸੋਰਹ ਸਹੰਸ੍ਰ ਰਾਜ ਸੁਤਾ ਬਿਵਾਹਤ ਭਏ ॥

eit sree bachitr naattak granthe bhoomaasur badh kai sut ko raaj dee sorah sahansr raaj sutaa bivaahat bhe |

End of the description of the Killing of Bhumasura, giving the Kingdom to his son and marrying sixteen thousand princesses.

ਅਥ ਇੰਦ੍ਰ ਕੋ ਜੀਤ ਕੈ ਕਲਪ ਬ੍ਰਿਛ ਲਿਆਇਬੋ ਕਥਨੰ ॥

(Now begins the description of Conquering Indra and Bringing the Elysian tree Kalap Vriksh)

ਯੌ ਸੁਖ ਦੈ ਤਿਨ ਤ੍ਰੀਅਨ ਕੋ ਫਿਰਿ ਸ੍ਯਾਮ ਪੁਰੰਦਰ ਲੋਕ ਸਿਧਾਯੋ ॥

yau sukh dai tin treean ko fir sayaam purandar lok sidhaayo |

In this way, providing comfort to those women, Krishna went to the abode of Indra

ਕੰਕਨ ਕੁੰਡਲ ਦੇਤ ਭਯੋ ਤਿਹ ਪਾਇ ਕੈ ਸੋਕ ਸਭੈ ਬਿਸਰਾਯੋ ॥

kankan kunddal det bhayo tih paae kai sok sabhai bisaraayo |

Indra gave him coat of mail (Kavach) and ringlets (Kundal) which remove all sorrows

ਸੁੰਦਰ ਏਕ ਪਿਖਿਯੋ ਤਹ ਰੂਖ ਤਿਹੀ ਪਰ ਸ੍ਯਾਮ ਕੋ ਚਿਤ ਲੁਭਾਯੋ ॥

sundar ek pikhiyo tah rookh tihee par sayaam ko chit lubhaayo |

Krishna saw there a beautiful tree and he asked Indra to give the tree

ਮਾਗਤਿ ਭਯੋ ਨ ਦਯੋ ਸੁਰਰਾਜ ਤਹੀ ਹਰਿ ਸਿਉ ਹਰਿ ਜੁਧੁ ਮਚਾਯੋ ॥੨੧੪੬॥

maagat bhayo na dayo suraraaj tahee har siau har judh machaayo |2146|

When Indra did not give the tree, then Krishna began a war with him.2146.

ਰਿਸਿ ਸਾਜਿ ਪੁਰੰਦਰ ਸੈਨ ਚੜਿਯੋ ਚਲਿ ਕੈ ਸਭ ਸ੍ਯਾਮ ਕੇ ਸਾਮੁਹੇ ਆਏ ॥

ris saaj purandar sain charriyo chal kai sabh sayaam ke saamuhe aae |

He also, in fury, brought his army and attacked Krishna

ਘੋਰਤ ਮੇਘ ਲਸੈ ਚਪਲਾ ਬਰਖਾ ਬਰਸੇ ਰਥ ਸਾਜ ਬਨਾਏ ॥

ghorat megh lasai chapalaa barakhaa barase rath saaj banaae |

On all the four sides were seen moving the chariots when the clouds thundered and the lighting flashed

ਦ੍ਵਾਦਸ ਸੂਰ ਸਬੈ ਉਮਡੈ ਬਸੁ ਰਾਵਨ ਸੇ ਜਿਨ ਹੂ ਬਿਚਲਾਏ ॥

dvaadas soor sabai umaddai bas raavan se jin hoo bichalaae |

The twelve suns also all arose which distracted the likes of Basu (god) and Ravana. (Meaning-those who have conquered and chased away the likes of Ravana).
