ਛਾਰ ਕਰੋ ਗਰੂਏ ਗਿਰ ਰਾਜਹਿ ਚੰਡਿ ਪਚਾਰਿ ਹਨੋ ਬਲੁ ਕੈ ਕੈ ॥
chhaar karo garooe gir raajeh chandd pachaar hano bal kai kai |“Reduce the great mountain of the goddess to dust and with all your strength challenge and kill her.”,
ਕਾਨਨ ਮੈ ਨ੍ਰਿਪ ਕੀ ਸੁਨੀ ਬਾਤ ਰਿਸਾਤ ਚਲਿਓ ਚੜਿ ਉਪਰ ਗੈ ਕੈ ॥
kaanan mai nrip kee sunee baat risaat chalio charr upar gai kai |Hearing the words of the king with own ears, Raktabvija riding on his elephant and in great fury, marched away.,
ਮਾਨੋ ਪ੍ਰਤਛ ਹੋਇ ਅੰਤਿਕ ਦੰਤਿ ਕੋ ਲੈ ਕੈ ਚਲਿਓ ਰਨਿ ਹੇਤ ਜੁ ਛੈ ਕੈ ॥੧੨੬॥
maano pratachh hoe antik dant ko lai kai chalio ran het ju chhai kai |126|It seemed that the Yama, manifesting himself is taking the demon to his destruction by fighting in the battlefield.126.,
ਬੀਜ ਰਕਤ੍ਰ ਸੁ ਬੰਬ ਬਜਾਇ ਕੈ ਆਗੈ ਕੀਏ ਗਜ ਬਾਜ ਰਥਈਆ ॥
beej rakatr su banb bajaae kai aagai kee gaj baaj ratheea |The trumpet was sounded by Raktavija who sent forward his forces on elephants, horses and chariots.,
ਏਕ ਤੇ ਏਕ ਮਹਾ ਬਲਿ ਦਾਨਵ ਮੇਰ ਕੋ ਪਾਇਨ ਸਾਥ ਮਥਈਆ ॥
ek te ek mahaa bal daanav mer ko paaein saath matheea |All those demons are very powerful, who can even crush Sumeru with their feet.,
ਦੇਖਿ ਤਿਨੇ ਸੁਭ ਅੰਗ ਸੁ ਦੀਰਘ ਕਉਚ ਸਜੇ ਕਟਿ ਬਾਧਿ ਭਥਈਆ ॥
dekh tine subh ang su deeragh kauch saje katt baadh bhatheea |Their bodies and limbs look very strong and large, on which they are wearing the armour, with quivers tied with their waists.,
ਲੀਨੇ ਕਮਾਨਨ ਬਾਨ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾਨ ਸਮਾਨ ਕੈ ਸਾਥ ਲਏ ਜੋ ਸਥਈਆ ॥੧੨੭॥
leene kamaanan baan kripaan samaan kai saath le jo satheea |127|Raktavija is going with his companions wearing their weapons like bows, arrows, swords etc. alongwith all other paraphernalia.127.,

ਰਕਤ ਬੀਜ ਦਲ ਸਾਜ ਕੈ ਉਤਰੇ ਤਟਿ ਗਿਰਿ ਰਾਜ ॥
rakat beej dal saaj kai utare tatt gir raaj |Raktavija, keeping his army in array, encamped at the base of sumeru.,
ਸ੍ਰਵਣਿ ਕੁਲਾਹਲ ਸੁਨਿ ਸਿਵਾ ਕਰਿਓ ਜੁਧ ਕੋ ਸਾਜ ॥੧੨੮॥
sravan kulaahal sun sivaa kario judh ko saaj |128|Hearing their tumult with her ears, the goddess prepared for war.128.,

ਹੁਇ ਸਿੰਘਹਿ ਅਸਵਾਰ ਗਾਜ ਗਾਜ ਕੈ ਚੰਡਿਕਾ ॥

ਚਲੀ ਪ੍ਰਬਲ ਅਸਿ ਧਾਰਿ ਰਕਤਿ ਬੀਜ ਕੇ ਬਧ ਨਮਿਤ ॥੧੨੯॥

ਆਵਤ ਦੇਖ ਕੇ ਚੰਡਿ ਪ੍ਰਚੰਡ ਕੋ ਸ੍ਰੋਣਤਬਿੰਦ ਮਹਾ ਹਰਖਿਓ ਹੈ ॥
aavat dekh ke chandd prachandd ko sronatabind mahaa harakhio hai |Raktavija was very much pleased on seeing powerful Chandi coming.,
ਆਗੇ ਹ੍ਵੈ ਸਤ੍ਰੁ ਧਸੈ ਰਨ ਮਧਿ ਸੁ ਕ੍ਰੁਧ ਕੇ ਜੁਧਹਿ ਕੋ ਸਰਖਿਓ ਹੈ ॥
aage hvai satru dhasai ran madh su krudh ke judheh ko sarakhio hai |He moved forward and penetrated into the forces of the enemy and in anger moved further for his demeanour.,
ਲੈ ਉਮਡਿਓ ਦਲੁ ਬਾਦਲੁ ਸੋ ਕਵਿ ਨੈ ਜਸੁ ਇਆ ਛਬਿ ਕੋ ਪਰਖਿਓ ਹੈ ॥
lai umaddio dal baadal so kav nai jas eaa chhab ko parakhio hai |He gushed forward with his army like clouds, the poet has imagined this comparison for his demeanour.,
ਤੀਰ ਚਲੈ ਇਮ ਬੀਰਨ ਕੇ ਬਹੁ ਮੇਘ ਮਨੋ ਬਲੁ ਕੈ ਬਰਖਿਓ ਹੈ ॥੧੩੦॥
teer chalai im beeran ke bahu megh mano bal kai barakhio hai |130|The arrows of the warriors move as though enormous clouds are raining heavily.130.,
ਬੀਰਨ ਕੇ ਕਰ ਤੇ ਛੁਟਿ ਤੀਰ ਸਰੀਰਨ ਚੀਰ ਕੇ ਪਾਰਿ ਪਰਾਨੇ ॥
beeran ke kar te chhutt teer sareeran cheer ke paar paraane |The arrows shot by hands of the warriors, piercing the bodies of the enemies, cross to the other side.,
ਤੋਰ ਸਰਾਸਨ ਫੋਰ ਕੈ ਕਉਚਨ ਮੀਨਨ ਕੇ ਰਿਪੁ ਜਿਉ ਥਹਰਾਨੇ ॥
tor saraasan for kai kauchan meenan ke rip jiau thaharaane |Leaving the bows and piercing the armours, these arrows stand fixed like cranes, the enemies of fish.,
ਘਾਉ ਲਗੇ ਤਨ ਚੰਡਿ ਅਨੇਕ ਸੁ ਸ੍ਰਉਣ ਚਲਿਓ ਬਹਿ ਕੈ ਸਰਤਾਨੇ ॥
ghaau lage tan chandd anek su sraun chalio beh kai sarataane |Many wounds were inficted on the body of Chandi, form which the blood flowed like a stream.,
ਮਾਨਹੁ ਫਾਰਿ ਪਹਾਰ ਹੂੰ ਕੋ ਸੁਤ ਤਛਕ ਕੇ ਨਿਕਸੇ ਕਰ ਬਾਨੇ ॥੧੩੧॥
maanahu faar pahaar hoon ko sut tachhak ke nikase kar baane |131|It seemed that (instead of arrows), the snakes (sons of Takshak) have come out changing their garbs.131.,
ਬੀਰਨ ਕੇ ਕਰ ਤੇ ਛੁਟਿ ਤੀਰ ਸੁ ਚੰਡਿਕਾ ਸਿੰਘਨ ਜਿਉ ਭਭਕਾਰੀ ॥
beeran ke kar te chhutt teer su chanddikaa singhan jiau bhabhakaaree |When the arrows were shot by the hands of the warriors, Chadika roared like a lioness.,
ਲੈ ਕਰਿ ਬਾਨ ਕਮਾਨ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾਨ ਗਦਾ ਗਹਿ ਚਕ੍ਰ ਛੁਰੀ ਅਉ ਕਟਾਰੀ ॥
lai kar baan kamaan kripaan gadaa geh chakr chhuree aau kattaaree |She held arrows, bow, sword, mace disc, carver and dagger in her hands.,
