ਤਾਹੀ ਕੀ ਓਰਿ ਰਹੋ ਲਿਵ ਲਾਇ ਰੀ ਯਾ ਤੇ ਕਛੂ ਤੁਮਰੋ ਨਹੀ ਖੀਜੈ ॥੯੦੨॥
taahee kee or raho liv laae ree yaa te kachhoo tumaro nahee kheejai |902|You may concentrate your attention on him, you shall not be doing anything wrong by this.”902.

ਸੁਨਿ ਊਧਵ ਤੇ ਬਿਧਿ ਯਾ ਬਤੀਯਾ ਤਿਨ ਊਧਵ ਕੋ ਇਮ ਉਤਰੁ ਦੀਨੋ ॥
sun aoodhav te bidh yaa bateeyaa tin aoodhav ko im utar deeno |Hearing this method from Udhav, he replied to Udhav as follows.
ਜਾ ਸੁਨਿ ਬ੍ਰਯੋਗ ਹੁਲਾਸ ਘਟੈ ਜਿਹ ਕੋ ਸੁਨਿਏ ਦੁਖ ਹੋਵਤ ਜੀ ਨੋ ॥
jaa sun brayog hulaas ghattai jih ko sunie dukh hovat jee no |Hearing these words of Udhava, they replied, “O Udhava! hearing about whom, there is feeling of separation and the happiness is decreased,
ਤ੍ਯਾਗਿ ਗਏ ਤੁਮ ਹੋ ਹਮ ਕੋ ਹਮਰੋ ਤੁਮਰੇ ਰਸ ਮੈ ਮਨੁ ਭੀਨੋ ॥
tayaag ge tum ho ham ko hamaro tumare ras mai man bheeno |“That Krishna has left us
ਯੌ ਕਹਿਯੋ ਤਾ ਸੰਗ ਯੌ ਕਹੀਯੋ ਹਰਿ ਜੂ ਤੁਹਿ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਬਿਦਾ ਕਰਿ ਦੀਨੋ ॥੯੦੩॥
yau kahiyo taa sang yau kaheeyo har joo tuhi prem bidaa kar deeno |903|When you go, you may tell this to him, “You have forthwith forsaken love.”903.
ਫਿਰ ਕੈ ਸੰਗਿ ਊਧਵ ਕੇ ਬ੍ਰਿਜ ਭਾਮਨਿ ਸ੍ਯਾਮ ਕਹੈ ਇਹ ਭਾਤਿ ਉਚਾਰਿਯੋ ॥
fir kai sang aoodhav ke brij bhaaman sayaam kahai ih bhaat uchaariyo |(The poet) Shyam says, Then the gopis spoke such words to Uddhava.
ਤ੍ਯਾਗਿ ਗਏ ਨ ਲਈ ਸੁਧਿ ਹੈ ਰਸ ਸੋ ਹਮਰੋ ਮਨੂਆ ਤੁਮ ਜਾਰਿਯੋ ॥
tayaag ge na lee sudh hai ras so hamaro manooaa tum jaariyo |The women of Braja said to Udhava again, “On one side he has left us and on the other side, your talk is inflaming our mind,”
ਇਉ ਕਹਿ ਕੈ ਪੁਨਿ ਐਸੇ ਕਹਿਯੋ ਤਿਹ ਕੋ ਸੁ ਕਿਧੌ ਕਬਿ ਯੌ ਜਸੁ ਸਾਰਿਯੋ ॥
eiau keh kai pun aaise kahiyo tih ko su kidhau kab yau jas saariyo |Having said this, the gopis then spoke thus, (and) his Yash has been thus performed by the poet.
ਊਧਵ ਸ੍ਯਾਮ ਸੋ ਯੌ ਕਹੀਯੋ ਹਰਿ ਜੂ ਤੁਹਿ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਬਿਦਾ ਕਰਿ ਡਾਰਿਯੋ ॥੯੦੪॥
aoodhav sayaam so yau kaheeyo har joo tuhi prem bidaa kar ddaariyo |904|Saying thus, the gopis added, “O Udhava! you may tell Krishna this much definitely : ‘O Krishna! you have bidden farewell to the passion of love.”904.
ਫੇਰਿ ਕਹਿਯੋ ਇਮ ਊਧਵ ਸੋ ਜਬ ਹੀ ਸਭ ਹੀ ਹਰਿ ਕੇ ਰਸ ਭੀਨੀ ॥
fer kahiyo im aoodhav so jab hee sabh hee har ke ras bheenee |When all were soaked in the (love) juice of Sri Krishna (then) Udhava was told thus.
ਜੋ ਤਿਨ ਸੋ ਕਹਿਯੋ ਊਧਵ ਇਉ ਤਿਨ ਊਧਵ ਸੋ ਬਿਨਤੀ ਇਹ ਕੀਨੀ ॥
jo tin so kahiyo aoodhav iau tin aoodhav so binatee ih keenee |Getting mad again in the passionate love of Krishna, the gopis said to Udhava, “O Udhava! we request you that
ਕੰਚਨ ਸੋ ਜਿਨ ਕੋ ਤਨ ਥੋ ਜੋਊ ਹਾਨ ਬਿਖੈ ਹੁਤੀ ਗ੍ਵਾਰਿ ਨਵੀਨੀ ॥
kanchan so jin ko tan tho joaoo haan bikhai hutee gvaar naveenee |“Those gopis, whose bodies were like gold, their bodies have been destroyed
ਊਧਵ ਜੂ ਹਮ ਕੋ ਤਜਿ ਕੈ ਤੁਮਰੇ ਬਿਨੁ ਸ੍ਯਾਮ ਕਛੂ ਸੁਧਿ ਲੀਨੀ ॥੯੦੫॥
aoodhav joo ham ko taj kai tumare bin sayaam kachhoo sudh leenee |905|O Udhava! none except you has communicated with us.”905.
ਏਕ ਕਹੈ ਅਤਿ ਆਤੁਰ ਹ੍ਵੈ ਇਕ ਕੋਪਿ ਕਹੈ ਜਿਨ ਤੇ ਹਿਤ ਭਾਗਿਯੋ ॥
ek kahai at aatur hvai ik kop kahai jin te hit bhaagiyo |One (gopi) says in great sorrow and one in anger says those who have lost (Krishna's) love.
ਊਧਵ ਜੂ ਜਿਹ ਦੇਖਨ ਕੋ ਹਮਰੋ ਮਨੂਆ ਅਤਿ ਹੀ ਅਨੁਰਾਗਿਯੋ ॥
aoodhav joo jih dekhan ko hamaro manooaa at hee anuraagiyo |Someone in extreme worry and someone in extreme ire is saying, “O Udhava! he, for whose sight, our love is overflowing, the same Krishna has cast off his love for us
ਸੋ ਹਮ ਕੋ ਤਜਿ ਗਯੋ ਪੁਰ ਮੈ ਪੁਰ ਬਾਸਿਨ ਕੇ ਰਸ ਭੀਤਰ ਪਾਗਿਯੋ ॥
so ham ko taj gayo pur mai pur baasin ke ras bheetar paagiyo |“He has forsaken us and has absorbed himself with the residents of his city
ਜਉ ਹਰਿ ਜੂ ਬ੍ਰਿਜ ਨਾਰਿ ਤਜੀ ਬ੍ਰਿਜ ਨਾਰਿਨ ਭੀ ਬ੍ਰਿਜਨਾਥ ਤਿਆਗਿਯੋ ॥੯੦੬॥
jau har joo brij naar tajee brij naarin bhee brijanaath tiaagiyo |906|It is true the way in which Krishna has abandoned the women of Braja, now you may accept this that the women of Braja have abandoned Krishna.”906.
ਏਕਨ ਯੌ ਕਹਿਯੋ ਸ੍ਯਾਮ ਤਜਿਯੋ ਇਕ ਐਸੇ ਕਹੈ ਹਮ ਕਾਮ ਕਰੈਗੀ ॥
ekan yau kahiyo sayaam tajiyo ik aaise kahai ham kaam karaigee |Some of the gopis said that they had forsaken Krishna and some of them said that they would do whatever Krishna has asked them to do
ਭੇਖ ਜਿਤੇ ਕਹਿਯੋ ਜੋਗਿਨ ਕੇ ਤਿਤਨੇ ਹਮ ਆਪਨੇ ਅੰਗਿ ਡਰੈਗੀ ॥
bhekh jite kahiyo jogin ke titane ham aapane ang ddaraigee |The guises that Krishna had asked them to do, the guises that Krishna had asked the gopis to wear, they would wear them
ਏਕ ਕਹੈ ਹਮ ਜੈ ਹੈ ਤਹਾ ਇਕ ਐਸੇ ਕਹੈ ਗੁਨਿ ਹੀ ਉਚਰੈਗੀ ॥
ek kahai ham jai hai tahaa ik aaise kahai gun hee ucharaigee |Some of them said that they would go to Krishna and others said that they would sing his praises
ਏਕ ਕਹੈ ਹਮ ਖੈ ਮਰਿ ਹੈ ਬਿਖ ਇਕ ਯੌ ਕਹੈ ਧ੍ਯਾਨ ਹੀ ਬੀਚ ਮਰੈਗੀ ॥੯੦੭॥
ek kahai ham khai mar hai bikh ik yau kahai dhayaan hee beech maraigee |907|Some gopi says that she will die by taking poison and someone else says that she will die while meditating upon him.907.
ਊਧਵ ਬਾਚ ਗੋਪਿਨ ਸੋ ॥
aoodhav baach gopin so |Speech of Udhava addressed to the gopis:
ਸਵੈਯਾ ॥
savaiyaa |SWAYYA
ਪਿਖਿ ਗ੍ਵਾਰਨਿ ਕੀ ਇਹ ਭਾਤਿ ਦਸਾ ਬਿਸਮੈ ਹੁਇ ਊਧਵ ਯੌ ਉਚਰੋ ॥
pikh gvaaran kee ih bhaat dasaa bisamai hue aoodhav yau ucharo |Seeing this condition of the gopis, (Udhav) was astonished and said thus,
ਹਮ ਜਾਨਤ ਹੈ ਤੁਮਰੀ ਹਰਿ ਸੋ ਬਲਿ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਿ ਘਨੀ ਇਹ ਕਾਮ ਕਰੋ ॥
ham jaanat hai tumaree har so bal preet ghanee ih kaam karo |Seeing such a state of gopis, Udhava marveled over it and said, “I know that you are immensely in love with Krishna,
ਜੋਊ ਸ੍ਯਾਮ ਪਠਿਯੋ ਤੁਮ ਪੈ ਹਮ ਕੋ ਇਹ ਰਾਵਲ ਭੇਖਨ ਅੰਗਿ ਧਰੋ ॥
joaoo sayaam patthiyo tum pai ham ko ih raaval bhekhan ang dharo |“But you are advised not to assume the garb of Yogins
ਤਜਿ ਕੈ ਗ੍ਰਿਹ ਕੇ ਪੁਨਿ ਕਾਜ ਸਭੈ ਸਖੀ ਮੋਰੇ ਹੀ ਧ੍ਯਾਨ ਕੇ ਬੀਚ ਅਰੋ ॥੯੦੮॥
taj kai grih ke pun kaaj sabhai sakhee more hee dhayaan ke beech aro |908|I have been sent by Krishna to you ask you to forsake your homely duties and only meditate on Krishna.”908.
ਗੋਪਿਨ ਬਾਚ ਊਧਵ ਸੋ ॥
gopin baach aoodhav so |Speech of gopis addressed to Udhava:
ਸਵੈਯਾ ॥
savaiyaa |SWAYYA
ਏਕ ਸਮੈ ਬ੍ਰਿਜ ਕੁੰਜਨ ਮੈ ਮੁਹਿ ਕਾਨਨ ਸ੍ਯਾਮ ਤਟੰਕ ਧਰਾਏ ॥
ek samai brij kunjan mai muhi kaanan sayaam tattank dharaae |Once in the alvoces of Braja, Krishna bedecked me with ear-pendants which were studded with very precious stones
ਕੰਚਨ ਕੇ ਬਹੁ ਮੋਲ ਜਰੇ ਨਗ ਬ੍ਰਹਮ ਸਕੈ ਉਪਮਾ ਨ ਗਨਾਏ ॥
kanchan ke bahu mol jare nag braham sakai upamaa na ganaae |Their praise could not even be uttered by Brahma
ਬਜ੍ਰ ਲਗੇ ਜਿਨ ਬੀਚ ਛਟਾ ਚਮਕੈ ਚਹੂੰ ਓਰਿ ਧਰਾ ਛਬਿ ਪਾਏ ॥
bajr lage jin beech chhattaa chamakai chahoon or dharaa chhab paae |Just as the lightning flashes in the clouds, their beauty was just like that
ਤਉਨ ਸਮੈ ਹਰਿ ਵੈ ਦਏ ਊਧਵ ਦੈ ਅਬ ਰਾਵਲ ਭੇਖ ਪਠਾਏ ॥੯੦੯॥
taun samai har vai de aoodhav dai ab raaval bhekh patthaae |909|O Udhava! Krishna gave all these at that time, but now he, having clad you in the garb of yogi, has sent to us.909.
ਏਕ ਕਹੈ ਹਮ ਜੋਗਨਿ ਹ੍ਵੈ ਹੈ ਕਹੈ ਇਕ ਸ੍ਯਾਮ ਕਹਿਯੋ ਹੀ ਕਰੈਂਗੀ ॥
ek kahai ham jogan hvai hai kahai ik sayaam kahiyo hee karaingee |One started saying that we will become jogans, one said that we will do what Shyam has said.
ਡਾਰਿ ਬਿਭੂਤਿ ਸਭੈ ਤਨ ਪੈ ਬਟੂਆ ਚਿਪੀਆ ਕਰ ਬੀਚ ਧਰੈਂਗੀ ॥
ddaar bibhoot sabhai tan pai battooaa chipeea kar beech dharaingee |Some gopi said that they would become yogins according to the saying of Krishna and rub ashes on the body and carry begging bowls
ਏਕ ਕਹੈ ਹਮ ਜਾਹਿ ਤਹਾ ਇਕ ਯੌ ਕਹੈ ਗ੍ਵਾਰਨਿ ਖਾਇ ਮਰੈਂਗੀ ॥
ek kahai ham jaeh tahaa ik yau kahai gvaaran khaae maraingee |Someone said that they would go to Krishna and die there on taking poison
ਏਕ ਕਹੈ ਬਿਰਹਾਗਨਿ ਕੋ ਉਪਜਾਇ ਕੈ ਤਾਹੀ ਕੇ ਸੰਗ ਜਰੈਂਗੀ ॥੯੧੦॥
ek kahai birahaagan ko upajaae kai taahee ke sang jaraingee |910|Someone said that they would produce the fire of separation and burn themselves in it.910.
ਰਾਧੇ ਬਾਚ ਊਧਵ ਸੋ ॥
raadhe baach aoodhav so |Speech of Radha addressed to Udhava:
ਸਵੈਯਾ ॥
savaiyaa |SWAYYA
ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਛਕੀ ਅਪਨੇ ਮੁਖ ਤੇ ਇਹ ਭਾਤਿ ਕਹਿਯੋ ਬ੍ਰਿਖਭਾਨੁ ਕੀ ਜਾਈ ॥
prem chhakee apane mukh te ih bhaat kahiyo brikhabhaan kee jaaee |Radha, dyed in the color of love, said thus from her face,
ਸ੍ਯਾਮ ਗਏ ਮਥੁਰਾ ਤਜਿ ਕੈ ਬ੍ਰਿਜ ਕੋ ਅਬ ਧੋ ਹਮਰੀ ਗਤਿ ਕਾਈ ॥
sayaam ge mathuraa taj kai brij ko ab dho hamaree gat kaaee |Being immersed in the love of Krishna, Radha said, “Now Krishna has forsaken Braja and gone to Matura and has put us in such straitened circumstances
ਦੇਖਤ ਹੀ ਪੁਰ ਕੀ ਤ੍ਰੀਯ ਕੋ ਸੁ ਛਕੇ ਤਿਨ ਕੇ ਰਸ ਮੈ ਜੀਯ ਆਈ ॥
dekhat hee pur kee treey ko su chhake tin ke ras mai jeey aaee |“He has fallen in passionate love with the women of Matura, on seeing them
ਕਾਨ੍ਰਹ ਲਯੋ ਕੁਬਜਾ ਬਸਿ ਕੈ ਟਸਕ੍ਯੋ ਨ ਹੀਯੋ ਕਸਕ੍ਯੋ ਨ ਕਸਾਈ ॥੯੧੧॥
kaanrah layo kubajaa bas kai ttasakayo na heeyo kasakayo na kasaaee |911|Krishna has been tamed by Kubja and in such a state no pain has arisen in the heart of that butcher.911.
ਸੇਜ ਬਨੀ ਸੰਗਿ ਫੂਲਨ ਸੁੰਦਰ ਚਾਦਨੀ ਰਾਤਿ ਭਲੀ ਛਬਿ ਪਾਈ ॥
sej banee sang foolan sundar chaadanee raat bhalee chhab paaee |“The bed of flowers is looking splendid in the moonlit night
ਸੇਤ ਬਹੇ ਜਮੁਨਾ ਪਟ ਹੈ ਸਿਤ ਮੋਤਿਨ ਹਾਰ ਗਰੈ ਛਬਿ ਛਾਈ ॥
set bahe jamunaa patt hai sit motin haar garai chhab chhaaee |The current of the whilte Yamuna appears like a beautiful raiment and the particles of sand appear like the necklace of gems
ਮੈਨ ਚੜਿਯੋ ਸਰ ਲੈ ਬਰ ਕੈ ਬਧਬੋ ਹਮ ਕੋ ਬਿਨੁ ਜਾਨਿ ਕਨ੍ਰਹਾਈ ॥
main charriyo sar lai bar kai badhabo ham ko bin jaan kanrahaaee |“The god of love seeing us without Krishna is attacking us with his arrows and that Krishna has been taked by Kubja
