ਅਧਿਕ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਿ ਤਿਨ ਕੇ ਸੰਗ ਠਾਨੈ ॥
adhik preet tin ke sang tthaanai |She used to love them (lovers) a lot.
ਮੂਰਖ ਨਾਰਿ ਭੇਦ ਨਹਿ ਜਾਨੈ ॥੧੪॥
moorakh naar bhed neh jaanai |14|She loved many shady characters who could not understand this foolish woman.(14)

ਤੇ ਰਮਿ ਔਰਨ ਸੋ ਕਹੈ ਇਹ ਕੁਤਿਯਾ ਕਿਹ ਕਾਜ ॥
te ram aauaran so kahai ih kutiyaa kih kaaj |She would make love with others but denounced her co-wife as bitch.
ਏਕ ਦਰਬੁ ਹਮੈ ਚਾਹਿਯੈ ਜੌ ਦੈ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਜਦੁਰਾਜ ॥੧੫॥
ek darab hamai chaahiyai jau dai sree jaduraaj |15|And the openly declared that she just wanted one son, which God would give her.(15)

bhaat bhaat ke bhog kamaavai |16|The Raja himself used to invite many other ladies to make love with them.(16)

ਧ੍ਰਿਗ ਤਾ ਤ੍ਰਿਯ ਕਹ ਭਾਖਿਯੈ ਜਾ ਕਹ ਪਿਯ ਨ ਬੁਲਾਇ ॥
dhrig taa triy kah bhaakhiyai jaa kah piy na bulaae |The woman, whose husband does not invite her into bed, is ill-fated.
ਤਿਹ ਦੇਖਤ ਤ੍ਰਿਯ ਅਨਤ ਕੀ ਸੇਜ ਬਿਹਾਰਨ ਜਾਇ ॥੧੭॥
tih dekhat triy anat kee sej bihaaran jaae |17|And the man, whose wife adores the bed of another person, is hapless.(17)

ਮੂਰਖ ਨਾਰਿ ਭੇਦ ਨਹਿ ਪਾਵੈ ॥

ਸਵਤਿ ਤ੍ਰਾਸ ਤੇ ਦਰਬੁ ਲੁਟਾਵੈ ॥
savat traas te darab luttaavai |The foolish (Rani) did not care and kept on squandering the wealth.
ਤੇ ਵਾ ਕੀ ਕਛੁ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਿ ਨ ਮਾਨੈ ॥
te vaa kee kachh preet na maanai |She did not believe in his love
ਨ੍ਰਿਪਤਿ ਭਏ ਕਛੁ ਔਰ ਬਖਾਨੈ ॥੧੮॥
nripat bhe kachh aauar bakhaanai |18|She would not give him much respect, but when she encountered him, she showed different attitude.(18)

ਸੁਨੋ ਰਾਇ ਇਕ ਤ੍ਰਿਯਾ ਸੁਭ ਤਾਹਿ ਬੁਲਾਇਯੈ ॥
suno raae ik triyaa subh taeh bulaaeiyai |‘Listen, my Raja, a female is very auspicious,
ਤਾ ਸੌ ਮੈਨ ਬਿਹਾਰ ਬਿਸੇਖ ਕਮਾਇਯੈ ॥
taa sau main bihaar bisekh kamaaeiyai |‘By making love with her one is alleviated,
ਐਸੀ ਤ੍ਰਿਯ ਕਰ ਪਰੈ ਜਾਨ ਨਹਿ ਦੀਜਿਯੈ ॥
aaisee triy kar parai jaan neh deejiyai |‘If such a woman comes across, one should not let go,
ਹੋ ਨਿਜੁ ਨਾਰੀ ਸੋ ਨੇਹੁ ਨ ਕਬਹੂੰ ਕੀਜਿਯੈ ॥੧੯॥
ho nij naaree so nehu na kabahoon keejiyai |19|‘(Might be) one had to abandon his own female.(l9)

ਭਲੌ ਵਹੈ ਜੋ ਭੋਗ ਕਮਾਵੈ ॥
bhalau vahai jo bhog kamaavai |‘One who indulges in lovemaking is favoured,
ਭਾਤਿ ਭਾਤਿ ਸੋ ਦਰਬੁ ਲੁਟਾਵੈ ॥
bhaat bhaat so darab luttaavai |‘And he fritters away wealth in various forms.
ਨਿਜੁ ਤ੍ਰਿਯ ਸਾਥ ਨ ਨੇਹ ਲਗੈਯੇ ॥
nij triy saath na neh lagaiye |‘One should not indulge in the one whom one cannot own,
ਜੋ ਜਿਤ ਜਗ ਆਪਨ ਨ ਕਹੈਯੈ ॥੨੦॥
jo jit jag aapan na kahaiyai |20|‘And unless one has won over, one should not declare her as his own.(20)

ਤੁਮ ਰਾਜਾ ਸਮ ਭਵਰ ਕੀ ਫੂਲੀ ਤ੍ਰਿਯਹਿ ਨਿਹਾਰਿ ॥
tum raajaa sam bhavar kee foolee triyeh nihaar |‘You are Raja, an women are blossomed flower,
ਬਿਨੁ ਰਸ ਲੀਨੇ ਕ੍ਯੋ ਰਹੋ ਤ੍ਰਿਯ ਕੀ ਸੰਕ ਬਿਚਾਰਿ ॥੨੧॥
bin ras leene kayo raho triy kee sank bichaar |21|Without any reservations, you savour the juice of their love.(21)

ਜਿਹ ਤੁਮ ਚਾਹਹੁ ਤਿਸੈ ਲੈ ਆਵਹਿ ॥
jih tum chaahahu tisai lai aaveh |I bring the one you want.
ਅਬ ਹੀ ਤੁਹਿ ਸੋ ਆਨਿ ਮਿਲਾਵਹਿ ॥
ab hee tuhi so aan milaaveh |‘Whosoever you want, could be brought to delight you.
ਤਾ ਸੋ ਭੋਗ ਮਾਨਿ ਰੁਚਿ ਕੀਜੈ ॥
taa so bhog maan ruch keejai |Indulge with him to your heart's content.
ਮਧੁਰ ਬਚਨ ਸ੍ਰਵਨਨ ਸੁਨਿ ਲੀਜੈ ॥੨੨॥
madhur bachan sravanan sun leejai |22|‘You enjoy sex with her profoundly and heed to my solemn oration.’(22)

ਬਹੁਰਿ ਜਾਇ ਰਾਨੀਯਹਿ ਭੁਲਾਵਹਿ ॥
bahur jaae raaneeyeh bhulaaveh |She would talk to the Raja as such and create confusion in the mind of the Rani (co-wife),
ਜੌ ਹਮ ਤੈ ਨਿਕਸਨ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਪਾਵੈ ॥
jau ham tai nikasan prabh paavai |She would talk to the Raja as such and create confusion in the mind of the Rani (co-wife),
ਅਨਿਕ ਤ੍ਰਿਯਨ ਸੋ ਭੋਗ ਕਮਾਵੈ ॥੨੩॥
anik triyan so bhog kamaavai |23|By telling her, ‘If he gets out of our noose, only then he could have sex with some other woman.’(23)

ਐਸ ਭਾਤਿ ਨਿਤ ਭ੍ਰਿਤਨ ਕੇ ਨਿਸਦਿਨ ਸੋਚ ਬਿਹਾਇ ॥
aais bhaat nit bhritan ke nisadin soch bihaae |The Raja’s hirelings were alarmed and they reflected,
ਨ੍ਰਿਪਤਿ ਸਮਝਿ ਕਛੁ ਦੈ ਨਹੀ ਰਾਨੀ ਧਨਹਿ ਲੁਟਾਇ ॥੨੪॥
nripat samajh kachh dai nahee raanee dhaneh luttaae |24|That the Raja was not dishing out but the Rani was profligating the wealth.(24)

ਨ੍ਰਿਪ ਇਕ ਦਿਨ ਰਾਨਿਯਹਿ ਬੁਲਾਯੋ ॥
nrip ik din raaniyeh bulaayo |The king called the queen one day
ਭਛ ਭੋਜ ਅਰੁ ਮਦਹਿ ਮੰਗਾਯੋ ॥
bhachh bhoj ar madeh mangaayo |The Raja called the Rani one day and ordered for the food and wine.
ਅਧਿਕ ਮਦਹਿ ਰਾਜਾ ਲੈ ਪਿਯੋ ॥
adhik madeh raajaa lai piyo |The king drank a lot of wine,
ਥੋਰਿਕ ਸੋ ਰਾਨੀ ਤਿਨ ਲਿਯੋ ॥੨੫॥
thorik so raanee tin liyo |25|The Raja drank a lot but the Rani swallowed a little bit.(25)
