ਸਿਵ ਧਿਆਨ ਛੁਟ੍ਰਯੋ ਬ੍ਰਹਮੰਡ ਗਿਰਿਯੋ ॥
siv dhiaan chhuttrayo brahamandd giriyo |

The horses are moving in so much intoxication and creating noise that the attention of Shiva was dissolved, And it seemed that the universe had been displaced

ਸਰ ਸੇਲ ਸਿਲਾ ਸਿਤ ਐਸ ਬਹੇ ॥
sar sel silaa sit aais bahe |

The white arrows and spears were moving like this

ਨਭ ਅਉਰ ਧਰਾ ਦੋਊ ਪੂਰਿ ਰਹੇ ॥੧੭॥
nabh aaur dharaa doaoo poor rahe |17|

The arrows, daggers and stones were flying and filling both the earth and the sky.17.

ਗਣ ਗੰਧ੍ਰਬ ਦੇਖਿ ਦੋਊ ਹਰਖੇ ॥
gan gandhrab dekh doaoo harakhe |

Gana and Gandharb were both happy to see

ਪੁਹਪਾਵਲਿ ਦੇਵ ਸਭੈ ਬਰਖੇ ॥
puhapaaval dev sabhai barakhe |

The Ganas and Gandharvas, seeing both, were pleased and the gods showered flowers.

ਮਿਲ ਗੇ ਭਟ ਆਪ ਬਿਖੈ ਦੋਊ ਯੋ ॥
mil ge bhatt aap bikhai doaoo yo |

The two warriors met each other like this

ਸਿਸ ਖੇਲਤ ਰੈਣਿ ਹੁਡੂਹੁਡ ਜਿਯੋ ॥੧੮॥
sis khelat rain huddoohudd jiyo |18|

Two warriors were fighting with each other like the children competing with one another in their play during the night.18.

ਬੇਲੀ ਬ੍ਰਿੰਦਮ ਛੰਦ ॥
belee brindam chhand |

BELI BINDRAM STANZA

ਰਣਧੀਰ ਬੀਰ ਸੁ ਗਜਹੀ ॥
ranadheer beer su gajahee |

Patience warriors roared in the battle

ਲਖਿ ਦੇਵ ਅਦੇਵ ਸੁ ਲਜਹੀ ॥
lakh dev adev su lajahee |

The warriors are thundering in the war and seeing them both the gods and demons are feeling shy

ਇਕ ਸੂਰ ਘਾਇਲ ਘੂੰਮਹੀ ॥
eik soor ghaaeil ghoonmahee |

A number of wounded warriors were walking around, (seemingly)

ਜਨੁ ਧੂਮਿ ਅਧੋਮੁਖ ਧੂਮਹੀ ॥੧੯॥
jan dhoom adhomukh dhoomahee |19|

The brave fighters, who have been wounded, are roaming and it appears that the smoke is flying upwards.19.

ਭਟ ਏਕ ਅਨੇਕ ਪ੍ਰਕਾਰ ਹੀ ॥
bhatt ek anek prakaar hee |

There were many types of warriors,

ਜੁਝੇ ਅਜੁਝ ਜੁਝਾਰ ਹੀ ॥
jujhe ajujh jujhaar hee |

The brave fighters of many types are fighting bravely with one another.

ਫਹਰੰਤ ਬੈਰਕ ਬਾਣਯੰ ॥
faharant bairak baanayan |

Flags and arrows were fluttering

ਥਹਰੰਤ ਜੋਧ ਕਿਕਾਣਯੰ ॥੨੦॥
thaharant jodh kikaanayan |20|

The lances and arrows are being hurled and the horses of the warriors are advancing hesitantly.20.

ਤੋਮਰ ਛੰਦ ॥

TOMAR STANZA

ਹਿਰਣਾਤ ਕੋਟ ਕਿਕਾਨ ॥
hiranaat kott kikaan |

Crores of horses were neighing,

ਬਰਖੰਤ ਸੇਲ ਜੁਆਨ ॥
barakhant sel juaan |

Millions of horses are neighing and the warriors are showering arrows

ਛੁਟਕੰਤ ਸਾਇਕ ਸੁਧ ॥
chhuttakant saaeik sudh |

The arrows were moving well

ਮਚਿਯੋ ਅਨੂਪਮ ਜੁਧ ॥੨੧॥
machiyo anoopam judh |21|

The bows have slipped and fallen from the hands and in this way the terrible and unique war is being waged.21.

ਭਟ ਏਕ ਅਨੇਕ ਪ੍ਰਕਾਰ ॥
bhatt ek anek prakaar |

Many kinds of warriors (fought)

ਜੁਝੇ ਅਨੰਤ ਸ੍ਵਾਰ ॥
jujhe anant svaar |

Many types of warriors and innumerable horsemen are fighting with one another

ਬਾਹੈ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾਣ ਨਿਸੰਗ ॥
baahai kripaan nisang |

Fearlessly (soldiers) wielded swords

ਮਚਿਯੋ ਅਪੂਰਬ ਜੰਗ ॥੨੨॥
machiyo apoorab jang |22|

They are striking their swords without any suspicion and in this way, a unique war is going on.22.

ਦੋਧਕ ਛੰਦ ॥
dodhak chhand |

DODHAK STANZA

ਬਾਹਿ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾਣ ਸੁ ਬਾਣ ਭਟ ਗਣ ॥
baeh kripaan su baan bhatt gan |

Teams of knights wielded arrows and swords.

ਅੰਤਿ ਗਿਰੈ ਪੁਨਿ ਜੂਝਿ ਮਹਾ ਰਣਿ ॥
ant girai pun joojh mahaa ran |

After striking their swords and arrows, the brave fighters ultimately fell down during that great war.

ਘਾਇ ਲਗੈ ਇਮ ਘਾਇਲ ਝੂਲੈ ॥
ghaae lagai im ghaaeil jhoolai |

The injured were swinging like this

ਫਾਗੁਨਿ ਅੰਤਿ ਬਸੰਤ ਸੇ ਫੂਲੈ ॥੨੩॥
faagun ant basant se foolai |23|

The wounded warriors are swinging like the blossomed spring at the end of the month of Phagun.23.

ਬਾਹਿ ਕਟੀ ਭਟ ਏਕਨ ਐਸੀ ॥
baeh kattee bhatt ekan aaisee |

The severed arm of one of the warriors looked like this

ਸੁੰਡ ਮਨੋ ਗਜ ਰਾਜਨ ਜੈਸੀ ॥
sundd mano gaj raajan jaisee |

Somewhere the chopped arms of the warriors appear like the trunks of the elephants

ਸੋਹਤ ਏਕ ਅਨੇਕ ਪ੍ਰਕਾਰੰ ॥
sohat ek anek prakaaran |

A warrior was blessed in many ways

ਫੂਲ ਖਿਲੇ ਜਨੁ ਮਧਿ ਫੁਲਵਾਰੰ ॥੨੪॥
fool khile jan madh fulavaaran |24|

The brave fighters appear beautiful like the flowers blooming in the garden.24.

ਸ੍ਰੋਣ ਰੰਗੇ ਅਰਿ ਏਕ ਅਨੇਕੰ ॥
sron range ar ek anekan |

Many were stained with the blood of an enemy

ਫੂਲ ਰਹੇ ਜਨੁ ਕਿੰਸਕ ਨੇਕੰ ॥
fool rahe jan kinsak nekan |

The enemies were dyed with blood like many types of blooming flowers.

ਧਾਵਤ ਘਾਵ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾਣ ਪ੍ਰਹਾਰੰ ॥
dhaavat ghaav kripaan prahaaran |

They were running (here and there) injured by the blows of the kirpans

ਜਾਨੁ ਕਿ ਕੋਪ ਪ੍ਰਤਛ ਦਿਖਾਰੰ ॥੨੫॥
jaan ki kop pratachh dikhaaran |25|

After having been wounded with swords the brave soldiers were roaming like the manifestation of anger itself.25.

ਤੋਟਕ ਛੰਦ ॥

TOTAK STANZA

ਜੂਝਿ ਗਿਰੇ ਅਰਿ ਏਕ ਅਨੇਕੰ ॥
joojh gire ar ek anekan |

Many had fallen fighting an enemy

ਘਾਇ ਲਗੇ ਬਿਸੰਭਾਰ ਬਿਸੇਖੰ ॥
ghaae lage bisanbhaar bisekhan |

Many enemies fell down fighting and Narsingh, the incarnation of Vishnu also received many wounds.

ਕਾਟਿ ਗਿਰੇ ਭਟ ਏਕਹਿ ਵਾਰੰ ॥
kaatt gire bhatt ekeh vaaran |

At once he (Narsingh) cut down many warriors.

ਸਾਬੁਨ ਜਾਨੁ ਗਈ ਬਹਿ ਤਾਰੰ ॥੨੬॥
saabun jaan gee beh taaran |26|

The chopped bits of the warriors were flowing in the stream of blood like the bubbles of foam.26.

ਪੂਰ ਪਰੇ ਭਏ ਚੂਰ ਸਿਪਾਹੀ ॥
poor pare bhe choor sipaahee |

The soldiers were crushed to pieces,

ਸੁਆਮਿ ਕੇ ਕਾਜ ਕੀ ਲਾਜ ਨਿਬਾਹੀ ॥
suaam ke kaaj kee laaj nibaahee |

The fighting soldiers, having been cut into bits, fell down, but none of them put to disrepute the dignity of their master.

ਬਾਹਿ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾਣਨ ਬਾਣ ਸੁ ਬੀਰੰ ॥
baeh kripaanan baan su beeran |

Many a warrior wielded bows and arrows,

ਅੰਤਿ ਭਜੇ ਭਯ ਮਾਨਿ ਅਧੀਰੰ ॥੨੭॥
ant bhaje bhay maan adheeran |27|

Showing the blows of the swords and arrows, the warriors fled away ultimately in great fear.27.
