ਸੋਰਠਿ ਸੁਧ ਮਲਾਰ ਬਿਲਾਵਲ ਸ੍ਯਾਮ ਕਹੈ ਨੰਦ ਲਾਲ ਰਿਝਾਵੈ ॥
soratth sudh malaar bilaaval sayaam kahai nand laal rijhaavai |“Krishna is pleasing all, by playing there on the musical modes of Sorath, Shuddh Malhar and Bilawal
ਅਉਰ ਕੀ ਬਾਤ ਕਹਾ ਕਹੀਯੇ ਸੁਰ ਤ੍ਯਾਗਿ ਸਭੈ ਸੁਰ ਮੰਡਲ ਆਵੈ ॥੬੮੬॥
aaur kee baat kahaa kaheeye sur tayaag sabhai sur manddal aavai |686|What to say of others, even the gods leaving their sphere, are coming there.”686.
ਰਾਧੇ ਬਾਚ ਪ੍ਰਤਿ ਉਤਰ ॥

ਮੈ ਨ ਚਲੋ ਸਜਨੀ ਹਰਿ ਪੈ ਜੁ ਚਲੋ ਤਬ ਮੋਹਿ ਬ੍ਰਿਜਨਾਥ ਦੁਹਾਈ ॥
mai na chalo sajanee har pai ju chalo tab mohi brijanaath duhaaee |“O friend! I swear by the Lord of Braja, I shall not go to Krishna
ਮੋ ਸੰਗ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਿ ਤਜੀ ਜਦੁਨੰਦਨ ਚੰਦ੍ਰਭਗਾ ਸੰਗਿ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਿ ਲਗਾਈ ॥
mo sang preet tajee jadunandan chandrabhagaa sang preet lagaaee |Krishna has forsaken his love with me and is absorbed in the love of Chandarbhaga,”
ਸ੍ਯਾਮ ਕੀ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਿ ਮਹਾ ਤੁਮ ਸੌ ਤਜਿ ਮਾਨ ਹਹਾ ਰੀ ਚਲੋ ਦੁਚਿਤਾਈ ॥
sayaam kee preet mahaa tum sau taj maan hahaa ree chalo duchitaaee |Then the friend named Vidyuchhata said to Radha, “O Radha! you go there abandoning your duality
ਤੇਰੇ ਬਿਨਾ ਨਹੀ ਖੇਲਤ ਹੈ ਕਹਿਯੋ ਖੇਲਹੁ ਜਾਹੂੰ ਸੋ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਿ ਲਗਾਈ ॥੬੮੭॥
tere binaa nahee khelat hai kahiyo khelahu jaahoon so preet lagaaee |687|Krishna loved you more than anyone else, he does not like to play without you, because the passionate play can only be with one, whom one loves.”687.

ਪਾਇ ਪਰੋ ਤੁਮਰੇ ਸਜਨੀ ਅਤਿ ਹੀ ਮਨ ਭੀਤਰ ਮਾਨੁ ਨ ਕਈਯੈ ॥
paae paro tumare sajanee at hee man bheetar maan na keeyai |“O friend! I fall at your feet, do not have any arrogance like this in your mind
ਸ੍ਯਾਮ ਬੁਲਾਵਤ ਹੈ ਸੁ ਜਹਾ ਉਠ ਕੈ ਤਿਹ ਠਉਰ ਬਿਖੈ ਚਲਿ ਜਈਯੈ ॥
sayaam bulaavat hai su jahaa utth kai tih tthaur bikhai chal jeeyai |You go to the place, where Krishna is calling you
ਨਾਚਤ ਹੈ ਜਿਮ ਗ੍ਵਾਰਨਿਆ ਨਚੀਯੈ ਤਿਮ ਅਉ ਤਿਹ ਭਾਤਿ ਹੀ ਗਈਯੈ ॥
naachat hai jim gvaaraniaa nacheeyai tim aau tih bhaat hee geeyai |“The way in which the gopis are dancing and singing, you may also dance and sing
ਅਉਰ ਅਨੇਕਿਕ ਬਾਤ ਕਰੋ ਪਰ ਰਾਧੇ ਬਲਾਇ ਲਿਉ ਸਉਹ ਨ ਖਈਯੈ ॥੬੮੮॥
aaur anekik baat karo par raadhe balaae liau sauh na kheeyai |688|O Radha! you may talk about anything else except your oath regarding not going.”688.
ਰਾਧੇ ਬਾਚ ॥

ਜੈਹਉ ਨ ਹਉ ਸੁਨ ਰੀ ਸਜਨੀ ਤੁਹਿ ਸੀ ਹਰਿ ਗ੍ਵਾਰਨਿ ਕੋਟਿ ਪਠਾਵੈ ॥
jaihau na hau sun ree sajanee tuhi see har gvaaran kott patthaavai |“O friend! if Krishna sends millions of gopis like you, even then I shall not go
ਬੰਸੀ ਬਜਾਵੈ ਤਹਾ ਤੁ ਕਹਾ ਅਰੁ ਆਪ ਕਹਾ ਭਯੋ ਮੰਗਲ ਗਾਵੈ ॥
bansee bajaavai tahaa tu kahaa ar aap kahaa bhayo mangal gaavai |Wherever he is playing on his flute and singing the songs of praise,
ਮੈ ਨ ਚਲੋ ਤਿਹ ਠਉਰ ਬਿਖੈ ਬ੍ਰਹਮਾ ਹਮ ਕੋ ਕਹਿਯੋ ਆਨਿ ਸੁਨਾਵੈ ॥
mai na chalo tih tthaur bikhai brahamaa ham ko kahiyo aan sunaavai |“Even if Brahma comes and asks me, even then I shall not go there
ਅਉਰ ਸਖੀ ਕੀ ਕਹਾ ਗਨਤੀ ਨਹੀ ਜਾਉ ਰੀ ਜਉ ਹਰਿ ਆਪਨ ਆਵੈ ॥੬੮੯॥
aaur sakhee kee kahaa ganatee nahee jaau ree jau har aapan aavai |689|I do not consider any friend of any account, you may all go and if Krishna wants, he can come himself.”689.
ਦੂਤੀ ਬਾਚ ਰਾਧੇ ਸੋ ॥
dootee baach raadhe so |Speech of the messenger addressed to Radha:
ਸਵੈਯਾ ॥
savaiyaa |SWAYYA
ਕਾਹੇ ਕੋ ਮਾਨ ਕਰੈ ਸੁਨ ਗ੍ਵਾਰਿਨ ਸ੍ਯਾਮ ਕਹੈ ਉਠ ਕੈ ਕਰ ਸੋਊ ॥
kaahe ko maan karai sun gvaarin sayaam kahai utth kai kar soaoo |“O gopi! why are you absorbed in pride?
ਜਾ ਕੇ ਕੀਏ ਹਰਿ ਹੋਇ ਖੁਸੀ ਸੁਨਿਯੈ ਬਲ ਕਾਜ ਕਰੋ ਅਬ ਜੋਊ ॥
jaa ke kee har hoe khusee suniyai bal kaaj karo ab joaoo |Do whatever Krishna has said, do that work, which pleases Krishna,
ਤਉ ਤੁਹਿ ਬੋਲਿ ਪਠਾਵਤ ਹੈ ਜਬ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਿ ਲਗੀ ਤੁਮ ਸੋ ਤਬ ਓਊ ॥
tau tuhi bol patthaavat hai jab preet lagee tum so tab oaoo |Only then (he) sends for you (again and again), when he is in love with you.
ਨਾਤਰ ਰਾਸ ਬਿਖੈ ਸੁਨ ਰੀ ਤੁਹਿ ਸੀ ਨਹਿ ਗ੍ਵਾਰਿਨ ਸੁੰਦਰ ਕੋਊ ॥੬੯੦॥
naatar raas bikhai sun ree tuhi see neh gvaarin sundar koaoo |690|“He loves you, therefore he has sent me to call you, otherwise why there is none other so beautiful gopi in the whole amorous play?690.
ਸੰਗ ਤੇਰੇ ਹੀ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਿ ਘਨੀ ਹਰਿ ਕੀ ਸਭ ਜਾਨਤ ਹੈ ਕਛੂ ਨਾਹਿ ਨਈ ॥
sang tere hee preet ghanee har kee sabh jaanat hai kachhoo naeh nee |“He is profound love with you, everyone knows it and this is not a new thing
ਜਿਹ ਕੀ ਮੁਖ ਉਪਮ ਚੰਦ੍ਰ ਪ੍ਰਭਾ ਜਿਹ ਕੀ ਤਨ ਭਾ ਮਨੋ ਰੂਪਮਈ ॥
jih kee mukh upam chandr prabhaa jih kee tan bhaa mano roopamee |He, whose face is glorious like the moon and whose body is beauty-incarnate,
ਤਿਹ ਸੰਗ ਕੋ ਤ੍ਯਾਗਿ ਸੁਨੋ ਸਜਨੀ ਗ੍ਰਿਹ ਕੀ ਉਠ ਕੈ ਤੁਹਿ ਬਾਟ ਲਈ ॥
tih sang ko tayaag suno sajanee grih kee utth kai tuhi baatt lee |“Leaving his company, O friend! you have taken the path leading to your home
ਬ੍ਰਿਜਨਾਥ ਕੇ ਸੰਗ ਸਖੀ ਬਹੁ ਤੇਰੀ ਰੀ ਤੋ ਸੀ ਗੁਵਾਰਿ ਭਈ ਨ ਭਈ ॥੬੯੧॥
brijanaath ke sang sakhee bahu teree ree to see guvaar bhee na bhee |691|There are may young damsels in the company of Krishna, the lord of Braja, but there is none so uncivilised like you.”691.
ਕਬਿਯੋ ਬਾਚ ॥
kabiyo baach |Speech of the poet:
ਸਵੈਯਾ ॥
savaiyaa |SWAYYA
ਸੁਨ ਕੈ ਇਹ ਗ੍ਵਾਰਿਨ ਕੀ ਬਤੀਯਾ ਬ੍ਰਿਖਭਾਨ ਸੁਤਾ ਮਨਿ ਕੋਪ ਭਈ ਹੈ ॥
sun kai ih gvaarin kee bateeyaa brikhabhaan sutaa man kop bhee hai |Hearing this from Gopi (Bijchhata), Radha became angry in her mind. (started to say) Ni Tivien!
ਕਾਨ੍ਰਹ ਬਿਨਾ ਪਠਏ ਰੀ ਤ੍ਰੀਯਾ ਹਮਰੇ ਉਨ ਕੇ ਉਠਿ ਬੀਚ ਪਈ ਹੈ ॥
kaanrah binaa patthe ree treeyaa hamare un ke utth beech pee hai |Hearing these words of the gopi, Radha got infuriated and said, “Without being sent by Krishna, you have come in between me and Krishna
ਆਈ ਮਨਾਵਨ ਹੈ ਹਮ ਕੋ ਸੁ ਕਹੀ ਬਤੀਯਾ ਜੁ ਨਹੀ ਰੁਚਈ ਹੈ ॥
aaee manaavan hai ham ko su kahee bateeyaa ju nahee ruchee hai |“You have come to persuade me, but whatever you have talked, I have not liked
ਕੋਪ ਕੈ ਉਤਰ ਦੇਤ ਭਈ ਚਲ ਰੀ ਚਲ ਤੂ ਕਿਨਿ ਬੀਚ ਦਈ ਹੈ ॥੬੯੨॥
kop kai utar det bhee chal ree chal too kin beech dee hai |692|” In great ire, Radha said, “You go away from this place and do not meddle in between us uselessly.”692.
ਦੂਤੀ ਬਾਚ ਕਾਨ੍ਰਹ ਸੋ ॥
dootee baach kaanrah so |Speech of the messenger addressed to Krishna:
ਸਵੈਯਾ ॥
savaiyaa |SWAYYA
ਕੋਪ ਕੈ ਉਤਰ ਦੇਤ ਭਈ ਇਨ ਆਇ ਕਹਿਯੋ ਫਿਰਿ ਸੰਗ ਸੁਜਾਨੈ ॥
kop kai utar det bhee in aae kahiyo fir sang sujaanai |The messenger said to Krishna in ire that Radha was giving her replies in anger
ਬੈਠ ਰਹੀ ਹਠ ਮਾਨਿ ਤ੍ਰੀਯਾ ਹਉ ਮਨਾਇ ਰਹੀ ਜੜ ਕਿਉ ਹੂੰ ਨ ਮਾਨੈ ॥
baitth rahee hatth maan treeyaa hau manaae rahee jarr kiau hoon na maanai |She seems determined on her female persistence and she with her idiotic intellect is not agreeing in any way
ਸਾਮ ਦੀਏ ਨ ਮਨੈ ਨਹੀ ਦੰਡ ਮਨੈ ਨਹੀ ਭੇਦ ਦੀਏ ਅਰੁ ਦਾਨੈ ॥
saam dee na manai nahee dandd manai nahee bhed dee ar daanai |She has not agreed in any of the four: calmness, restraint, penalty and difference
ਐਸੀ ਗੁਵਾਰਿ ਸੋ ਹੇਤ ਕਹਾ ਤੁਮਰੀ ਜੋਊ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਿ ਕੋ ਰੰਗ ਨ ਜਾਨੈ ॥੬੯੩॥
aaisee guvaar so het kahaa tumaree joaoo preet ko rang na jaanai |693|She is also not comprehending the facet of your love, what is the use of loving such an uncivilised gopi? 693.
ਮੈਨਪ੍ਰਭਾ ਬਾਚ ਕਾਨ੍ਰਹ ਜੂ ਸੋ ॥
mainaprabhaa baach kaanrah joo so |Speech of Mainprabha addressed to Krishna:
ਸਵੈਯਾ ॥
savaiyaa |SWAYYA
ਮੈਨਪ੍ਰਭਾ ਹਰਿ ਪਾਸ ਹੁਤੀ ਸੁਨ ਕੈ ਬਤੀਯਾ ਤਬ ਬੋਲਿ ਉਠੀ ਹੈ ॥
mainaprabhaa har paas hutee sun kai bateeyaa tab bol utthee hai |Manprabha (a gopi named Jo) who was near Krishna, heard (Bijchhata's) speech and immediately spoke.
ਲਿਆਇ ਹੋ ਹਉ ਇਹ ਭਾਤਿ ਕਹਿਯੋ ਤੁਮ ਤੇ ਹਰਿ ਜੂ ਜੋਊ ਗ੍ਵਾਰ ਰੁਠੀ ਹੈ ॥
liaae ho hau ih bhaat kahiyo tum te har joo joaoo gvaar rutthee hai |A gopi named Mainprabha, who was standing near Krishna, listening to the messenger, said, “O Krishna! the gopi who was become angry with you, I shall bring her.”
ਕਾਨ੍ਰਹ ਕੇ ਪਾਇਨ ਪੈ ਤਬ ਹੀ ਸੁ ਲਿਯਾਵਨ ਤਾਹੀ ਕੇ ਕਾਜ ਉਠੀ ਹੈ ॥
kaanrah ke paaein pai tab hee su liyaavan taahee ke kaaj utthee hai |In order to bring her to Krishna, that gopi got up
ਸੁੰਦਰਤਾ ਮੁਖ ਊਪਰ ਤੇ ਮਨੋ ਕੰਜ ਪ੍ਰਭਾ ਸਭ ਵਾਰ ਸੁਟੀ ਹੈ ॥੬੯੪॥
sundarataa mukh aoopar te mano kanj prabhaa sabh vaar suttee hai |694|Seeing her beauty, it seems that the lotus has sacrificed all its beauty on her.694.
