ਬ੍ਰਹਮਾ ਕਰੀ ਬਿਸਨ ਕੀ ਸੇਵਾ ॥
brahamaa karee bisan kee sevaa |Brahma served Vishnu,
ਤਾ ਤੇ ਭਏ ਕ੍ਰਿਸਨ ਜਗ ਦੇਵਾ ॥੧॥
taa te bhe krisan jag devaa |1|Then Jagat Dev Sri Krishna appeared. 1.
ਮੁਰ ਦਾਨਵ ਕੋ ਕੰਸ ਵਤਾਰਾ ॥
mur daanav ko kans vataaraa |Kansa Mur was an incarnation of demon.
ਕਰਤ ਪੂਰਬ ਲੌ ਦ੍ਰੋਹ ਸੰਭਾਰਾ ॥
karat poorab lau droh sanbhaaraa |(He) remembered the enmity of the previous life.
ਵਾ ਕੇ ਕਰਤ ਹਨਨ ਕੇ ਦਾਵੈ ॥
vaa ke karat hanan ke daavai |He used to claim to kill him (Krishna).
ਨਿਤਪ੍ਰਤਿ ਆਸੁਰਨ ਤਹਾ ਪਠਾਵੈ ॥੨॥
nitaprat aasuran tahaa patthaavai |2|And every day he used to send giants there. 2.
ਪ੍ਰਥਮ ਪੂਤਨਾ ਕ੍ਰਿਸਨ ਸੰਘਾਰੀ ॥
pratham pootanaa krisan sanghaaree |First Putana was killed by Krishna.
ਪੁਨਿ ਸਕਟਾਸੁਰ ਦੇਹ ਉਧਾਰੀ ॥
pun sakattaasur deh udhaaree |Then borrowed (ie-killed) the body of Shaktasura (demon) and sent it to Yamaloka.
ਬਹੁਰਿ ਬਕਾਸੁਰ ਅਸੁਰ ਸੰਘਾਰਿਯੋ ॥
bahur bakaasur asur sanghaariyo |Then Bakasura killed the giant
ਬ੍ਰਿਖਭਾਸੁਰ ਕੇ ਬ੍ਰਿਖਨ ਉਪਾਰਿਯੋ ॥੩॥
brikhabhaasur ke brikhan upaariyo |3|And uprooted the horns ('Brikhana') of Brikhabhasura. 3.
ਆਘਾਸੁਰ ਕੋ ਅਘ ਨਿਵਰਤ ਕਰਿ ॥
aaghaasur ko agh nivarat kar |Eliminated the sins ('Agha') of Aghasur.
ਪੁਨਿ ਕੇਸੀ ਮਾਰਿਯੋ ਚਰਨਨ ਧਰਿ ॥
pun kesee maariyo charanan dhar |Then KC (the giant) was caught by the feet and killed.
ਬਹੁਰਿ ਬ੍ਰਹਮ ਕਹ ਚਰਿਤ ਦਿਖਾਯੋ ॥
bahur braham kah charit dikhaayo |Then he showed (his) Kautaka to Brahma.
ਧਰਿ ਕਰਿ ਪਰ ਗਿਰ ਇੰਦ੍ਰ ਹਰਾਯੋ ॥੪॥
dhar kar par gir indr haraayo |4|He defeated Indra by lifting the mountain on his hand. 4.
ਨੰਦਹਿ ਛੀਨ ਬਰਨ ਤੇ ਲ੍ਯਾਯੋ ॥
nandeh chheen baran te layaayo |Brought Nanda away from Varuna.
ਸੰਦੀਪਨ ਕੇ ਸੁਤਹਿ ਮਿਲਾਯੋ ॥
sandeepan ke suteh milaayo |Joined the sons of Sandipan.
ਦਾਵਾਨਲ ਤੇ ਗੋਪ ਉਬਾਰੇ ॥
daavaanal te gop ubaare |Saved the outcasts from Davanal
ਗੋਪਨ ਸੌ ਬ੍ਰਿਜ ਕਰੇ ਅਖਾਰੇ ॥੫॥
gopan sau brij kare akhaare |5|And in Brajbhoomi, he created arenas with the Gwalas. 5.
ਕੁਬਲਯਾ ਗਜ ਕੋ ਦਾਤ ਲਯੋ ਹਰਿ ॥
kubalayaa gaj ko daat layo har |Kuvalia pulled out the elephant's teeth.
ਚਾਡੂਰਹਿ ਮੁਸਟਕਹਿ ਪ੍ਰਹਰਿ ਕਰਿ ॥
chaaddooreh musattakeh prahar kar |Punched Chandur.
ਪਕਰਿ ਕੇਸ ਤੇ ਕੰਸ ਪਛਾਰਾ ॥
pakar kes te kans pachhaaraa |He overcame Kansa by holding on to the cases.
ਉਪ੍ਰਸੈਨ ਸਿਰ ਛਤ੍ਰਹਿ ਢਾਰਾ ॥੬॥
auprasain sir chhatreh dtaaraa |6|He swung the umbrella over Ugrasain's head. 6.
ਜਰਾਸਿੰਧੁ ਕੀ ਚਮੂੰ ਸੰਘਾਰੀ ॥
jaraasindh kee chamoon sanghaaree |Destroyed Jarasandha's army.
ਸੰਖ ਲਯੋ ਸੰਖਾਸੁਰ ਮਾਰੀ ॥
sankh layo sankhaasur maaree |Killed Sankhasura and took Sankha.
ਨਗਰ ਦ੍ਵਾਰਿਕਾ ਕੀਯਾ ਪ੍ਰਵੇਸਾ ॥
nagar dvaarikaa keeyaa pravesaa |By defeating the kings of the countries
ਦੇਸ ਦੇਸ ਕੇ ਜੀਤਿ ਨਰੇਸਾ ॥੭॥
des des ke jeet naresaa |7|Entered the city of Dwarika. 7.
ਦੰਤਬਕ੍ਰ ਨਰਕਾਸੁਰ ਘਾਯੋ ॥
dantabakr narakaasur ghaayo |Killed Dantabakra and Narkasura.
ਸੋਰਹ ਸਹਸ ਬਧੂ ਬਰਿ ਲ੍ਯਾਯੋ ॥
sorah sahas badhoo bar layaayo |Married sixteen thousand women.
ਪਾਰਜਾਤ ਸੁਰ ਪੁਰ ਤੇ ਲ੍ਰਯਾਯਾ ॥
paarajaat sur pur te lrayaayaa |Parjat brought the sword from heaven.
ਬਿੰਦ੍ਰਾਬਨ ਮਹਿ ਖੇਲ ਦਿਖਾਯਾ ॥੮॥
bindraaban meh khel dikhaayaa |8|Lila created in Bindraban. 8.
ਪੰਡ੍ਵਨ ਕੀ ਜਿਨ ਕਰੀ ਜਿਤਾਰੀ ॥
panddvan kee jin karee jitaaree |He defeated the Pandavas.
ਦ੍ਰੁਪਦ ਸੁਤਾ ਕੀ ਲਾਜ ਉਬਾਰੀ ॥
drupad sutaa kee laaj ubaaree |Saved Draupati's lodge.
ਸਭ ਕੌਰਵ ਕੇ ਦਲਹਿ ਖਪਾਈ ॥
sabh kauarav ke daleh khapaaee |Destroyed the whole party of the Kauravas.
ਸੰਤਹਿ ਆਂਚ ਨ ਲਾਗਨ ਪਾਈ ॥੯॥
santeh aanch na laagan paaee |9|The saints were not allowed to suffer (suffering). 9.
ਸਭ ਸੂਚਨਤਾ ਜੌ ਕਰਿ ਜੈਯੈ ॥
sabh soochanataa jau kar jaiyai |If given all the information,
ਗ੍ਰੰਥ ਬਢਨ ਤੇ ਅਧਿਕ ਡਰੈਯੈ ॥
granth badtan te adhik ddaraiyai |So there is a fear of the scripture becoming bigger.
ਤਾ ਤੇ ਥੋਰੀ ਕਥਾ ਉਚਾਰੀ ॥
taa te thoree kathaa uchaaree |So a little talk (meaning - brief talk) has been done.
ਚੂਕ ਹੋਇ ਕਬਿ ਲੇਹੁ ਸੁਧਾਰੀ ॥੧੦॥
chook hoe kab lehu sudhaaree |10|(Where) a mistake has been made, (those) poets should correct it. 10.
ਅਬ ਮੈ ਕਹਤ ਕਥਾ ਰੁਕਮਨੀ ॥
ab mai kahat kathaa rukamanee |Now I tell the story of Rukmini
ਜਿਹ ਛਲ ਬਰਿਯੋ ਕ੍ਰਿਸਨ ਸੋ ਧਨੀ ॥
jih chhal bariyo krisan so dhanee |Who had cheated and married a husband like Krishna.
ਲਿਖਿ ਪਤਿਯਾ ਦਿਜ ਹਾਥ ਪਠਾਈ ॥
likh patiyaa dij haath patthaaee |(He) wrote a letter and sent it to the Brahmin
ਕਹਿਯਹੁ ਮਹਾਰਾਜ ਤਨ ਜਾਈ ॥੧੧॥
kahiyahu mahaaraaj tan jaaee |11|(And said that) go to Maharaj (Sri Krishna) and say. 11.
ਸਵੈਯਾ ॥
savaiyaa |Self:
ਬ੍ਯਾਹ ਬਦ੍ਯੋ ਸਿਸਪਾਲ ਭਏ ਸੁਈ ਜੋਰਿ ਬਰਾਤ ਬਿਯਾਹਨ ਆਏ ॥
bayaah badayo sisapaal bhe suee jor baraat biyaahan aae |My marriage is fixed with Shishupal. He has come for a wedding party.
ਹੌ ਅਟਕੀ ਮਧਸੂਦਨ ਸੌ ਜਿਨ ਕੀ ਛਬਿ ਹਾਟਕ ਹੇਰਿ ਹਿਰਾਏ ॥
hau attakee madhasoodan sau jin kee chhab haattak her hiraae |(But) I am infatuated with Madhusudana, whose image even gold ('haton') is taken away.
ਚਾਤ੍ਰਿਕ ਕੀ ਜਿਮਿ ਪ੍ਯਾਸ ਘਟੇ ਨ ਬਿਨਾ ਘਨ ਸੇ ਘਨ ਸ੍ਯਾਮ ਸੁਹਾਏ ॥
chaatrik kee jim payaas ghatte na binaa ghan se ghan sayaam suhaae |Just as Chatrik's thirst is not quenched without replacement (so is my thirst) Ghan Shyam is blessed (satisfied).
ਹਾਰੀ ਗਿਰੀ ਨ ਹਿਰਿਯੋ ਹਿਯ ਕੋ ਦੁਖ ਹੇਰਿ ਰਹੀ ਨ ਹਹਾ ਹਰਿ ਆਏ ॥੧੨॥
haaree giree na hiriyo hiy ko dukh her rahee na hahaa har aae |12|(I) have fallen in defeat, but the pain of the heart has not gone away. I am looking, but Hi Krishna did not come. 12.
