ਭੁਜੰਗ ਛੰਦ ॥
bhujang chhand |Bhujang Verse:
ਲਏ ਬੀਰ ਧੀਰੇ ਮਹਾ ਕੋਪਿ ਢੂਕੇ ॥
le beer dheere mahaa kop dtooke |The patient warriors stood firm (in the war) with great anger
ਚਹੂੰ ਓਰ ਗਾਜੇ ਹਠੀ ਇੰਦ੍ਰ ਜੂ ਕੇ ॥
chahoon or gaaje hatthee indr joo ke |And Indra's stubborn warriors roared.
ਉਤੇ ਦੈਤ ਬਾਕੇ ਇਤੈ ਦੇਵ ਰੂਰੇ ॥
aute dait baake itai dev roore |There were giants and there were beautiful gods.
ਹਟੇ ਨ ਹਠੀਲੇ ਮਹਾ ਰੋਸ ਪੂਰੇ ॥੫॥
hatte na hattheele mahaa ros poore |5|Filled with anger, (they) did not move stubbornly. 5.
ਦੁਹੂੰ ਓਰ ਬਾਜੰਤ੍ਰ ਆਨੇਕ ਬਾਜੇ ॥
duhoon or baajantr aanek baaje |Many bells were ringing from both sides
ਬਧੇ ਬੀਰ ਬਾਨੇ ਦੁਹੂੰ ਓਰ ਗਾਜੇ ॥

ਮਚਿਯੋ ਜੁਧ ਗਾੜੋ ਪਰੀ ਮਾਰ ਭਾਰੀ ॥

ਮਹਾ ਕੋਪ ਕੈ ਕੈ ਬਲੀ ਦੈਤ ਧਾਏ ॥
mahaa kop kai kai balee dait dhaae |The strong giants fell down due to great anger.
ਹਠਿਨ ਕੋਪ ਕੈ ਸਸਤ੍ਰ ਅਸਤ੍ਰੈ ਚਲਾਏ ॥
hatthin kop kai sasatr asatrai chalaae |The stubborn warriors got angry and fired weapons and weapons.
ਬਧੇ ਕੌਚ ਕਾਤੀ ਜਬੈ ਜੰਭ ਗਜਿਯੋ ॥

tumare jiyat naath ham haare |8|O Nath! We have been defeated while you are alive. 8.
ਜਗਪਤਿ ਸੂਲ ਕੋਪ ਤਬ ਆਯੋ ॥
jagapat sool kop tab aayo |Then Vishnu became very angry (on hearing (of Indra's) sorrow).
ਲਛਿਮੀ ਕੁਅਰਿ ਲੈ ਸੰਗ ਸਿਧਾਯੋ ॥
lachhimee kuar lai sang sidhaayo |And Lachhmi went away taking the virgin with him.
ਬਾਧਿ ਸਨਧਿ ਬਿਰਾਜਿਯੋ ਤਹਾ ॥
baadh sanadh biraajiyo tahaa |He went there armed
ਗਾਜਤ ਬੀਰ ਜੰਭ ਬਹੁ ਜਹਾ ॥੯॥

bhe sron bisikhotam adhik biraajahee |The great arrows stained with blood were showing great splendor,
ਹੋ ਜਿਨ ਕੀ ਪ੍ਰਭਾ ਬਿਲੋਕਿ ਤਛਜਾ ਲਾਜਹੀ ॥੧੦॥
ho jin kee prabhaa bilok tachhajaa laajahee |10|The son of Tachhak Nag ('Tachja') was also moving after seeing their brilliance. 10.

ਲਛਿਮ ਕੁਮਾਰਿ ਐਸੋ ਕਹਿਯੋ ਸੁਨਹੁ ਬਿਸਨ ਜੂ ਬੈਨ ॥

ਯਾ ਕੌ ਹੌਹੂੰ ਜੀਤਿ ਕੈ ਪਠਊ ਜਮ ਕੈ ਐਨ ॥੧੧॥

ਬਿਸਨ ਠਾਢਿ ਕੈ ਲਛਮਿ ਕੁਅਰਿ ਕਰ ਧਨੁਖ ਲਿਯ ॥
bisan tthaadt kai lachham kuar kar dhanukh liy |Lachhmi stopped Vishnu and took a bow in her hand
ਚਿਤ੍ਰ ਬਚਿਤ੍ਰ ਅਯੋਧਨ ਤਾ ਸੋ ਐਸ ਕਿਯ ॥
chitr bachitr ayodhan taa so aais kiy |And fought with him in this way.
ਅਮਿਤ ਰੂਪ ਦਿਖਰਾਇ ਮੋਹਿ ਅਰਿ ਕੌ ਲਿਯੋ ॥
amit roop dikharaae mohi ar kau liyo |He charmed the enemy by showing his amit form
ਹੋ ਬਹੁ ਘਾਇਨ ਕੇ ਸੰਗ ਤਾਹਿ ਘਾਯਲ ਕਿਯੋ ॥੧੨॥
ho bahu ghaaein ke sang taeh ghaayal kiyo |12|And wounded him with many wounds. 12.
ਮਿਸਹੀ ਕਹਿਯੋ ਨ ਹਨੁ ਰੇ ਹਰਿ ਇਹ ਮਾਰ ਹੈ ॥
misahee kahiyo na han re har ih maar hai |Said with excuse, Oh! Do not kill it, Vishnu will kill it.
ਬਹੁਤ ਜੁਧ ਕਰਿ ਯਾ ਸੌ ਬਹੁਰਿ ਸੰਘਾਰਿ ਹੈ ॥
bahut judh kar yaa sau bahur sanghaar hai |Will fight with it and kill again.
ਜਬ ਪਾਛੇ ਕੀ ਓਰ ਸੁ ਸਤ੍ਰੁ ਨਿਹਾਰਿਯੋ ॥
jab paachhe kee or su satru nihaariyo |When the enemy turned to the rear,
ਹੋ ਦਯੋ ਸੁਦਰਸਨ ਛਾਡ ਮੂੰਡਿ ਕਟ ਡਾਰਿਯੋ ॥੧੩॥
ho dayo sudarasan chhaadd moondd katt ddaariyo |13|So (Vishnu) cut off the head by releasing the Sudarshan Chakra. 13.

ਲਛਮਿ ਕੁਅਰਿ ਜਬ ਜੰਭ ਸੋ ਐਸੋ ਕਿਯੋ ਚਰਿਤ੍ਰ ॥
lachham kuar jab janbh so aaiso kiyo charitr |When Lakshmi did this kind of character with Jambhasura.
ਮਾਰਿ ਸੁਦਰਸਨ ਸੋ ਲਯੋ ਸੁਖਿਤ ਕੀਏ ਹਰਿ ਮਿਤ੍ਰ ॥੧੪॥
maar sudarasan so layo sukhit kee har mitr |14|(Then) Vishnu made (his) friend (Indra) happy by hitting him with Sudarshan Chakra. 14.
ਇਤਿ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਚਰਿਤ੍ਰ ਪਖ੍ਯਾਨੇ ਤ੍ਰਿਯਾ ਚਰਿਤ੍ਰੇ ਮੰਤ੍ਰੀ ਭੂਪ ਸੰਬਾਦੇ ਇਕ ਸੌ ਬਾਵਨੋ ਚਰਿਤ੍ਰ ਸਮਾਪਤਮ ਸਤੁ ਸੁਭਮ ਸਤੁ ॥੧੫੨॥੩੦੨੬॥ਅਫਜੂੰ॥
