ਇੰਦ੍ਰ ਕੋ ਰਾਜਹਿ ਕੀ ਦਵੈਯਾ ਕਰਤਾ ਬਧ ਸੁੰਭ ਨਿਸੁੰਭਹਿ ਦੋਊ ॥
eindr ko raajeh kee davaiyaa karataa badh sunbh nisunbheh doaoo |She, who is the bestower of the kingdom on India by killing Sumbh and Nisumbh
ਜੋ ਜਪ ਕੈ ਇਹ ਸੇਵ ਕਰੈ ਬਰੁ ਕੋ ਸੁ ਲਹੈ ਮਨ ਇਛਤ ਸੋਊ ॥
jo jap kai ih sev karai bar ko su lahai man ichhat soaoo |He, who remembers and serves her, he receives the reward to his heart’s desire,
ਲੋਕ ਬਿਖੈ ਉਹ ਕੀ ਸਮਤੁਲ ਗਰੀਬ ਨਿਵਾਜ ਨ ਦੂਸਰ ਕੋਊ ॥੮॥
lok bikhai uh kee samatul gareeb nivaaj na doosar koaoo |8|And in the whole world, none other is the supporter of the poor like her.8.
ਇਤਿ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਦੇਵੀ ਜੂ ਕੀ ਉਸਤਤਿ ਸਮਾਪਤੰ ॥
eit sree devee joo kee usatat samaapatan |End of the praise of the goddess,
ਅਥ ਪ੍ਰਿਥਮੀ ਬ੍ਰਹਮਾ ਪਹਿ ਪੁਕਾਰਤ ਭਈ ॥
ath prithamee brahamaa peh pukaarat bhee |Earth’s prayer to Brahma:
ਸਵੈਯਾ ॥

ਦਈਤਨ ਕੇ ਭਰ ਤੇ ਡਰ ਤੇ ਜੁ ਭਈ ਪ੍ਰਿਥਮੀ ਬਹੁ ਭਾਰਹਿੰ ਭਾਰੀ ॥
deetan ke bhar te ddar te ju bhee prithamee bahu bhaarahin bhaaree |
ਗਾਇ ਕੋ ਰੂਪੁ ਤਬੈ ਧਰ ਕੈ ਬ੍ਰਹਮਾ ਰਿਖਿ ਪੈ ਚਲਿ ਜਾਇ ਪੁਕਾਰੀ ॥
gaae ko roop tabai dhar kai brahamaa rikh pai chal jaae pukaaree |When the earth was overburdened by the weight and fear of the demons, she assumed the form of a cow and went to the sage Brahma
ਬ੍ਰਹਮ ਕਹਿਯੋ ਤੁਮ ਹੂੰ ਹਮ ਹੂੰ ਮਿਲਿ ਜਾਹਿ ਤਹਾ ਜਹ ਹੈ ਬ੍ਰਤਿਧਾਰੀ ॥
braham kahiyo tum hoon ham hoon mil jaeh tahaa jah hai bratidhaaree |
ਜਾਇ ਕਰੈ ਬਿਨਤੀ ਤਿਹ ਕੀ ਰਘੁਨਾਥ ਸੁਨੋ ਇਹ ਬਾਤ ਹਮਾਰੀ ॥੯॥
jaae karai binatee tih kee raghunaath suno ih baat hamaaree |9|Brahma said, “We two will go to the supreme Vishnu in order to request him to listen to our supplication.”9.
ਬ੍ਰਹਮ ਕੋ ਅਗ੍ਰ ਸਭੈ ਧਰ ਕੈ ਸੁ ਤਹਾ ਕੋ ਚਲੇ ਤਨ ਕੇ ਤਨੀਆ ॥
braham ko agr sabhai dhar kai su tahaa ko chale tan ke taneea |All the powerful people went there under the leadership of Brahma
ਤਬ ਜਾਇ ਪੁਕਾਰ ਕਰੀ ਤਿਹ ਸਾਮੁਹਿ ਰੋਵਤ ਤਾ ਮੁਨਿ ਜ੍ਯੋ ਹਨੀਆ ॥
tab jaae pukaar karee tih saamuhi rovat taa mun jayo haneea |The sages and others began to weep before the supreme Vishnu as if someone had beaten them
ਤਾ ਛਬਿ ਕੀ ਅਤਿ ਹੀ ਉਪਮਾ ਕਬਿ ਨੇ ਮਨ ਭੀਤਰ ਯੌ ਗਨੀਆ ॥
taa chhab kee at hee upamaa kab ne man bheetar yau ganeea |The poet mentioning the beauty of that spectacle says that those people appeared
ਜਿਮ ਲੂਟੇ ਤੈ ਅਗ੍ਰਜ ਚਉਧਰੀ ਕੈ ਕੁਟਵਾਰ ਪੈ ਕੂਕਤ ਹੈ ਬਨੀਆ ॥੧੦॥
jim lootte tai agraj chaudharee kai kuttavaar pai kookat hai baneea |10|Like a trader crying before a police officer having been plundered at the instance of the headman.10.
ਲੈ ਬ੍ਰਹਮਾ ਸੁਰ ਸੈਨ ਸਭੈ ਤਹ ਦਉਰਿ ਗਏ ਜਹ ਸਾਗਰ ਭਾਰੀ ॥
lai brahamaa sur sain sabhai tah daur ge jah saagar bhaaree |
ਗਾਇ ਪ੍ਰਨਾਮ ਕਰੋ ਤਿਨ ਕੋ ਅਪੁਨੇ ਲਖਿ ਬਾਰ ਨਿਵਾਰ ਪਖਾਰੀ ॥
gaae pranaam karo tin ko apune lakh baar nivaar pakhaaree |Brahma reached the milk-ocean alongwith the gods and the forces and washed the feet of the supreme Vishnu with water
ਪਾਇ ਪਰੇ ਚਤੁਰਾਨਨ ਤਾਹਿ ਕੇ ਦੇਖਿ ਬਿਮਾਨ ਤਹਾ ਬ੍ਰਤਿਧਾਰੀ ॥
paae pare chaturaanan taeh ke dekh bimaan tahaa bratidhaaree |
ਬ੍ਰਹਮ ਕਹਿਯੋ ਬ੍ਰਹਮਾ ਕਹੁ ਜਾਹੁ ਅਵਤਾਰ ਲੈ ਮੈ ਜਰ ਦੈਤਨ ਮਾਰੀ ॥੧੧॥
braham kahiyo brahamaa kahu jaahu avataar lai mai jar daitan maaree |11|Seeing that supreme Immanent Lord, the four-headed Brahma fell at his feet whereupon the Lord said, “You may leave, I shall incarnate and destroy the demons.”11.
ਸ੍ਰਉਨਨ ਮੈ ਸੁਨਿ ਬ੍ਰਹਮ ਕੀ ਬਾਤ ਸਬੈ ਮਨ ਦੇਵਨ ਕੇ ਹਰਖਾਨੇ ॥
sraunan mai sun braham kee baat sabai man devan ke harakhaane |
ਕੈ ਕੈ ਪ੍ਰਨਾਮ ਚਲੇ ਗ੍ਰਿਹਿ ਆਪਨ ਲੋਕ ਸਭੈ ਅਪੁਨੇ ਕਰ ਮਾਨੇ ॥
kai kai pranaam chale grihi aapan lok sabhai apune kar maane |Listening to the words of the Lord, all the gods were pleased and went back to their places after paying their obeisance to him
ਤਾ ਛਬਿ ਕੋ ਜਸੁ ਉਚ ਮਹਾ ਕਬਿ ਨੇ ਅਪੁਨੇ ਮਨ ਮੈ ਪਹਿਚਾਨੇ ॥
taa chhab ko jas uch mahaa kab ne apune man mai pahichaane |
ਗੋਧਨ ਭਾਤਿ ਗਯੋ ਸਭ ਲੋਕ ਮਨੋ ਸੁਰ ਜਾਇ ਬਹੋਰ ਕੈ ਆਨੇ ॥੧੨॥
godhan bhaat gayo sabh lok mano sur jaae bahor kai aane |12|Visualising that spectacle the poet said that they were going back like a herd of cows.12.
