ਬਰ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਮਤਿ ਸਿੰਘ ਕੋ ਸੀਸ ਕਟਿਓ ਲਖਿ ਜਾਦਵ ਸੈਨ ਗਈ ਦਬ ਹੀ ॥

aauro bhoopat teen bar dhaae larai sangraam |1381|The mighty warrior Kharag Singh killed six kings and after that three other kings came to fight with him.1381.

maar kai bhoop badde ran mai ris kai bahuro dhan baan leeyo |Killing many great kings and getting enraged again Kharag Singh took his bow and arrows in his hand
ਸਿਰ ਕਾਟਿ ਦਏ ਬਹੁ ਸਤ੍ਰਨ ਕੇ ਕਰਿ ਅਤ੍ਰਨ ਲੈ ਪੁਨਿ ਜੁਧੁ ਕੀਯੋ ॥
sir kaatt de bahu satran ke kar atran lai pun judh keeyo |He chopped the heads of many enemies and struck his blows on them with his arms
ਜਿਮਿ ਰਾਵਨ ਸੈਨ ਹਤੀ ਨ੍ਰਿਪ ਰਾਘਵ ਤਿਉ ਦਲੁ ਮਾਰਿ ਬਿਦਾਰ ਦੀਯੋ ॥
jim raavan sain hatee nrip raaghav tiau dal maar bidaar deeyo |The manner in which Ram had destroyed the army of Ravana, in the same way, Kharag Singh killed the enemy’s army
ਗਨ ਭੂਤ ਪਿਸਾਚ ਸ੍ਰਿੰਗਾਲਨ ਗੀਧਨ ਜੋਗਿਨ ਸ੍ਰਉਨ ਅਘਾਇ ਪੀਯੋ ॥੧੩੮੩॥
gan bhoot pisaach sringaalan geedhan jogin sraun aghaae peeyo |1383|The ganas, ghosts, fiends, jackals, vultures and Yoginis drank the blood to their fill in the war.1383.

kharrag singh kar kharrag lai rudr raseh anuraag |Kharag Singh, filled with anger, taking his dagger in his hand,
ਯੌ ਡੋਲਤ ਰਨਿ ਨਿਡਰ ਹੁਇ ਮਾਨੋ ਖੇਲਤ ਫਾਗੁ ॥੧੩੮੪॥
yau ddolat ran niddar hue maano khelat faag |1384|Was fearlessly roaming in the war-arena, he seemed to be playing Holi.1384.

ਬਾਨ ਚਲੇ ਤੇਈ ਕੁੰਕਮ ਮਾਨਹੁ ਮੂਠ ਗੁਲਾਲ ਕੀ ਸਾਗ ਪ੍ਰਹਾਰੀ ॥
baan chale teee kunkam maanahu mootth gulaal kee saag prahaaree |The arrows are being discharged like the vermilion diffused in air and the blood flowing with the blows of the lances seemed like gulal (red colour)
ਢਾਲ ਮਨੋ ਡਫ ਮਾਲ ਬਨੀ ਹਥ ਨਾਲ ਬੰਦੂਕ ਛੁਟੇ ਪਿਚਕਾਰੀ ॥
dtaal mano ddaf maal banee hath naal bandook chhutte pichakaaree |The shields have become like tabors and the guns look like the pumps
ਸ੍ਰਉਨ ਭਰੇ ਪਟ ਬੀਰਨ ਕੇ ਉਪਮਾ ਜਨੁ ਘੋਰ ਕੈ ਕੇਸਰ ਡਾਰੀ ॥
sraun bhare patt beeran ke upamaa jan ghor kai kesar ddaaree |The clothes of the warriors filled with blood appear having been saturated with dissolved saffron.
ਖੇਲਤ ਫਾਗੁ ਕਿ ਬੀਰ ਲਰੈ ਨਵਲਾਸੀ ਲੀਏ ਕਰਵਾਰ ਕਟਾਰੀ ॥੧੩੮੫॥
khelat faag ki beer larai navalaasee lee karavaar kattaaree |1385|The warriors carrying the swords appear carrying the sticks of flowers and playing Holi.1385.

ਰਨ ਚੰਚਲਤਾ ਬਹੁ ਕਰਤ ਜਨ ਨਟੂਆ ਬਡਭਾਗਿ ॥੧੩੮੬॥
ran chanchalataa bahu karat jan nattooaa baddabhaag |1386|Kharag Singh is fighting in great anger and is agile like a healthy actor showing his acting.1386.

saarathee aapane so keh kai su dhavaae tahee rath judh machaavai |Giving instructions to his charioteer and getting his chariot drive, he is waging a violent war
ਸਸਤ੍ਰ ਪ੍ਰਹਾਰਤ ਸੂਰਨ ਪੈ ਕਰਿ ਹਾਥਨ ਕੋ ਅਰਥਾਵ ਦਿਖਾਵੈ ॥
sasatr prahaarat sooran pai kar haathan ko arathaav dikhaavai |Making signs with his hands, he is striking blows with his weapons
ਦੁੰਦਭਿ ਢੋਲ ਮ੍ਰਿਦੰਗ ਬਜੈ ਕਰਵਾਰ ਕਟਾਰਨ ਤਾਲ ਬਜਾਵੈ ॥
dundabh dtol mridang bajai karavaar kattaaran taal bajaavai |Musical tunes are being played with small drums, drums, trumpets and swords .
ਮਾਰ ਹੀ ਮਾਰ ਉਚਾਰ ਕਰੈ ਮੁਖਿ ਯੌ ਕਰਿ ਨ੍ਰਿਤ ਅਉ ਗਾਨ ਸੁਨਾਵੈ ॥੧੩੮੭॥
maar hee maar uchaar karai mukh yau kar nrit aau gaan sunaavai |1387|He is dancing alongwith the shouts of “kill, kill and also singing.1387.
ਮਾਰ ਹੀ ਮਾਰ ਅਲਾਪ ਉਚਾਰਤ ਦੁੰਦਭਿ ਢੋਲ ਮ੍ਰਿਦੰਗ ਅਪਾਰਾ ॥
maar hee maar alaap uchaarat dundabh dtol mridang apaaraa |The shouts of “kill, kill” and the sound of drums and trumpets are being heard
ਸਤ੍ਰਨ ਕੇ ਸਿਰ ਅਤ੍ਰ ਤਰਾਕ ਲਗੈ ਤਿਹਿ ਤਾਲਨ ਕੋ ਠਨਕਾਰਾ ॥
satran ke sir atr taraak lagai tihi taalan ko tthanakaaraa |With the blows of arms on the heads of the enemies, there is jingling of tunes
ਜੂਝਿ ਗਿਰੇ ਧਰਿ ਰੀਝ ਕੈ ਦੇਤ ਹੈ ਪ੍ਰਾਨਨ ਦਾਨ ਬਡੇ ਰਿਝਿਵਾਰਾ ॥
joojh gire dhar reejh kai det hai praanan daan badde rijhivaaraa |The warriors while fighting and falling down appear like offering their life-force with pleasure
ਨਿਰਤ ਕਰੈ ਨਟ ਕੋਪ ਲਰੈ ਭਟ ਜੁਧ ਕੀ ਠਉਰ ਕਿ ਨ੍ਰਿਤ ਅਖਾਰਾ ॥੧੩੮੮॥
nirat karai natt kop larai bhatt judh kee tthaur ki nrit akhaaraa |1388|The warriors are jumping up in anger and it cannot be said, whether it is the battlefield or the arena of dancing.1388.
ਰਨ ਭੂਮਿ ਭਈ ਰੰਗ ਭੂਮਿ ਮਨੋ ਧੁਨਿ ਦੁੰਦਭਿ ਬਾਜੇ ਮ੍ਰਿਦੰਗ ਹੀਯੋ ॥
ran bhoom bhee rang bhoom mano dhun dundabh baaje mridang heeyo |The battlefield has become like an arena of dancing, where there is play of musical instruments and drums
ਸਿਰ ਸਤ੍ਰਨ ਕੇ ਪਰ ਅਤ੍ਰ ਲਗੈ ਤਤਕਾਰ ਤਰਾਕਨਿ ਤਾਲ ਲੀਯੋ ॥
sir satran ke par atr lagai tatakaar taraakan taal leeyo |The heads of the enemies are producing a special sound and tune with the blows of arms
ਅਸਿ ਲਾਗਤ ਝੂਮਿ ਗਿਰੈ ਮਰਿ ਕੈ ਭਟ ਪ੍ਰਾਨਨ ਮਾਨਹੁ ਦਾਨ ਕੀਯੋ ॥
as laagat jhoom girai mar kai bhatt praanan maanahu daan keeyo |The warriors falling on the earth seem to be making offerings of their life-breaths
ਬਰ ਨ੍ਰਿਤ ਕਰੈ ਕਿ ਲਰੈ ਨਟ ਜ੍ਯੋਂ ਨ੍ਰਿਪ ਮਾਰ ਹੀ ਮਾਰ ਸੁ ਰਾਗ ਕੀਯੋ ॥੧੩੮੯॥
bar nrit karai ki larai natt jayon nrip maar hee maar su raag keeyo |1389|They are dancing and singing like the actors, the melody of “kill, kill”/1389.
ਦੋਹਰਾ ॥

ਇਤੋ ਜੁਧ ਹਰਿ ਹੇਰਿ ਕੈ ਸਬਹਨਿ ਕਹਿਯੋ ਸੁਨਾਇ ॥
eito judh har her kai sabahan kahiyo sunaae |Seeing this kind of war, Sri Krishna told everyone and said
ਕੋ ਭਟ ਲਾਇਕ ਸੈਨ ਮੈ ਲਰੈ ਜੁ ਯਾ ਸੰਗਿ ਜਾਇ ॥੧੩੯੦॥
ko bhatt laaeik sain mai larai ju yaa sang jaae |1390|Seeing such a battle, Krishna uttered loudly, his words being heard by all, “Who is that worthy warrior, who is going to fight with Kharag Singh?”1390.
ਚੌਪਈ ॥

ਘਨ ਸਿੰਘ ਘਾਤ ਸਿੰਘ ਦੋਊ ਜੋਧੇ ॥
ghan singh ghaat singh doaoo jodhe |Both Ghan Singh and Ghat Singh are warriors (as such).
ਜਾਤ ਨ ਕਿਸੀ ਸੁਭਟ ਤੇ ਸੋਧੇ ॥
jaat na kisee subhatt te sodhe |GHAN Singh and Ghaat Singh were such warriors, whom no one could defeat
ਘਨਸੁਰ ਸਿੰਘ ਘਮੰਡ ਸਿੰਘ ਧਾਏ ॥
ghanasur singh ghamandd singh dhaae |(Then) Ghansur Singh and Ghamand Singh came rushing,
ਮਾਨਹੁ ਚਾਰੋ ਕਾਲ ਪਠਾਏ ॥੧੩੯੧॥
maanahu chaaro kaal patthaae |1391|Ghansur Singh and Ghamand Singh also moved and it seemed that death had itself called all the four.1391.
ਤਬ ਤਿਹ ਤਕਿ ਚਹੂੰਅਨ ਸਰ ਮਾਰੇ ॥
tab tih tak chahoonan sar maare |Then he (Kharag Singh) shot the arrows (in the head) of Tak Ke Chauhan
ਚਾਰੋ ਪ੍ਰਾਨ ਬਿਨਾ ਕਰਿ ਡਾਰੇ ॥
chaaro praan binaa kar ddaare |Then seeing towards them, the arrows were discharged on all the four and they were made lifeless
ਸ੍ਯੰਦਨ ਅਸ੍ਵ ਸੂਤ ਸਬ ਘਾਏ ॥
sayandan asv soot sab ghaae |(They) have killed everyone's chariots, charioteers and horses too.
