ਝਮਕਤ ਕਹੀ ਅਸਿਨ ਕੀ ਧਾਰਾ ॥
jhamakat kahee asin kee dhaaraa |

Somewhere the edges of swords were shining.

ਭਭਕਤ ਰੁੰਡ ਮੁੰਡ ਬਿਕਰਾਰਾ ॥੧੫੫॥
bhabhakat rundd mundd bikaraaraa |155|

(Somewhere) the terrible rund and the boy were screaming. 155.

ਭੁਜੰਗ ਛੰਦ ॥
bhujang chhand |

Bhujang Verse:

ਤਹਾ ਜੁਧ ਮਾਚਾ ਮਹਾ ਬੀਰ ਖੇਤੰ ॥
tahaa judh maachaa mahaa beer khetan |

There was a very terrible war

ਬਿਦਾਰੇ ਪਰੇ ਬੀਰ ਬ੍ਰਿੰਦੰ ਬਿਚੇਤੰ ॥
bidaare pare beer brindan bichetan |

And the juts of the warriors lay unconscious.

ਕਹੂੰ ਡਾਮਰੂੰ ਡਹ ਡਹਾ ਸਬਦ ਬਾਜੈ ॥
kahoon ddaamaroon ddah ddahaa sabad baajai |

Somewhere Damru was playing the word Dah Dah

ਸੁਨੇ ਦੀਹ ਦਾਨਵਾਨ ਕੋ ਦ੍ਰਪ ਭਾਜੈ ॥੧੫੬॥
sune deeh daanavaan ko drap bhaajai |156|

Hearing (which) the pride of the big giants was disappearing. 156.

ਕਹੂੰ ਸੰਖ ਭੇਰੀ ਬਜੈ ਤਾਲ ਭਾਰੇ ॥
kahoon sankh bheree bajai taal bhaare |

Somewhere Sankh, Bheri, Taal were playing.

ਕਹੂੰ ਬੇਨ ਬੀਨਾ ਪਨੋ ਔ ਨਗਾਰੇ ॥
kahoon ben beenaa pano aau nagaare |

Bain, veena, tambourine ('pano') and nagare were playing.

ਕਹੂੰ ਨਾਇ ਨਾਫੀਰਿਯੈ ਨਾਦ ਐਸੇ ॥
kahoon naae naafeeriyai naad aaise |

Somewhere the sound of trumpets and trumpets was sounding like this,

ਬਜੈ ਘੋਰ ਬਾਜਾ ਪ੍ਰਲੈ ਕਾਲ ਜੈਸੇ ॥੧੫੭॥
bajai ghor baajaa pralai kaal jaise |157|

Just as the flood of time is ringing. 157.

ਕਹੂੰ ਛੈਨ ਤੂਰੈ ਨਗਾਰੈ ਮ੍ਰਿਦੰਗੈ ॥
kahoon chhain toorai nagaarai mridangai |

Some chayane, turiyas, nagare, mridang,

ਕਹੂੰ ਬਾਸੁਰੀ ਬੀਨ ਬਾਜੈ ਸੁਰੰਗੈ ॥
kahoon baasuree been baajai surangai |

Flute, bean and well-tuned instruments (were playing.)

ਕਹੂੰ ਬਗਲ ਤਾਰੰਗ ਬਾਜੇ ਬਜਾਵੈ ॥
kahoon bagal taarang baaje bajaavai |

Somewhere tuba ('bugle') tarang etc. were being played.

ਕਹੂੰ ਬਾਰਤਾ ਰੰਗ ਨੀਕੇ ਸੁਹਾਵੈ ॥੧੫੮॥
kahoon baarataa rang neeke suhaavai |158|

Somewhere the hero talk was being narrated in a beautiful manner. 158.

ਕਹੂੰ ਝਾਝ ਬਾਜੈ ਕਹੂੰ ਤਾਲ ਐਸੇ ॥
kahoon jhaajh baajai kahoon taal aaise |

Somewhere jhanjh, tal, ben, beena were playing like this

ਕਹੂੰ ਬੇਨੁ ਬੀਨਾ ਪ੍ਰਲੈ ਕਾਲ ਜੈਸੇ ॥
kahoon ben beenaa pralai kaal jaise |

Just like the flood time environment.

ਕਹੂੰ ਬਾਸੁਰੀ ਨਾਇ ਨਾਦੈ ਮ੍ਰਿਦੰਗੈ ॥
kahoon baasuree naae naadai mridangai |

Some flute, shehnai, mridang,

ਕਹੂੰ ਸਾਰੰਗੀ ਔ ਮੁਚੰਗੈ ਉਪੰਗੈ ॥੧੫੯॥
kahoon saarangee aau muchangai upangai |159|

Sarangi, Muchang and Upang were playing. 159.

ਕਹੂੰ ਗਰਜਿ ਕੈ ਕੈ ਭੁਜਾ ਭੂਪ ਠੋਕੈ ॥
kahoon garaj kai kai bhujaa bhoop tthokai |

Somewhere the king was clapping his hands on his arms.

ਕਹੂੰ ਬੀਰ ਬੀਰਾਨ ਕੀ ਰਾਹ ਰੋਕੈ ॥
kahoon beer beeraan kee raah rokai |

Somewhere the heroes were blocking the path of the heroes.

ਕਿਤੇ ਅਸਤ੍ਰ ਔ ਸਸਤ੍ਰ ਲੈ ਲੈ ਚਲਾਵੈ ॥
kite asatr aau sasatr lai lai chalaavai |

Somewhere (the warriors) were carrying arms and armor

ਕਿਤੇ ਚਰਮ ਲੈ ਚੋਟ ਤਾ ਕੀ ਬਜਾਵੈ ॥੧੬੦॥
kite charam lai chott taa kee bajaavai |160|

And somewhere with shields they used to beat them. 160.

ਕਹੂੰ ਰੁੰਡ ਸੋਹੈ ਕਹੂੰ ਮੁੰਡ ਬਾਕੇ ॥
kahoon rundd sohai kahoon mundd baake |

Somewhere banks (of warriors) were adorning the rund (torso) and elsewhere the mund (head).

ਕਹੂੰ ਬੀਰ ਮਾਰੇ ਬਿਦਾਰੇ ਨਿਸਾਕੇ ॥
kahoon beer maare bidaare nisaake |

Somewhere the fearless ('Nisake') warriors were cut down and killed.

ਕਹੂੰ ਬਾਜ ਮਾਰੇ ਗਜਾਰਾਜ ਜੂਝੇ ॥
kahoon baaj maare gajaaraaj joojhe |

Somewhere horses were killed and somewhere elephants were fighting.

ਕਹੂੰ ਉਸਟ ਕਾਟੇ ਨਹੀ ਜਾਤ ਬੂਝੇ ॥੧੬੧॥
kahoon usatt kaatte nahee jaat boojhe |161|

Somewhere camels were cut (which) could not be identified. 161.

ਕਹੂੰ ਚਰਮ ਬਰਮੈ ਗਿਰੇ ਭੂਮਿ ਐਸੇ ॥
kahoon charam baramai gire bhoom aaise |

Somewhere shields ('charm') and armor ('bram') were lying on the ground like this,

ਬਗੇ ਬ੍ਰਯੋਤਿ ਡਾਰੇ ਸਮੈ ਸੀਤ ਜੈਸੇ ॥
bage brayot ddaare samai seet jaise |

The way the clothes are arranged while sewing.

ਗਏ ਜੂਝਿ ਜੋਧਾ ਜਗੇ ਜੋਰ ਜੰਗੈ ॥
ge joojh jodhaa jage jor jangai |

The warriors were fighting like this in a fierce battle.

ਮਨੋ ਪਾਨ ਕੈ ਭੰਗ ਸੋਏ ਮਲੰਗੈ ॥੧੬੨॥
mano paan kai bhang soe malangai |162|

As if Malang is sleeping after drinking bhang. 162.

ਕਿਤੇ ਡਹਡਹਾ ਸਬਦ ਡਵਰੂ ਬਜਾਵੈ ॥
kite ddahaddahaa sabad ddavaroo bajaavai |

Somewhere the strings were being played 'Dah Dah'.

ਕਿਤੇ ਰਾਗ ਮਾਰੂ ਖਰੇ ਖੇਤ ਗਾਵੈ ॥
kite raag maaroo khare khet gaavai |

Somewhere in the war-ground, Maru raga was being sung a lot.

ਹਸੈ ਗਰਜਿ ਠੋਕੈ ਭੁਜਾ ਪਾਟ ਫਾਟੈ ॥
hasai garaj tthokai bhujaa paatt faattai |

Sometimes (the warriors) laughed and slapped their arms and sometimes they clapped their hands on their thighs.

ਕਿਤੇ ਬੀਰ ਬੀਰਾਨ ਕੇ ਮੂੰਡ ਕਾਟੈ ॥੧੬੩॥
kite beer beeraan ke moondd kaattai |163|

Somewhere the warriors were cutting the heads of the warriors. 163.

ਕਹੂੰ ਚੰਚਲਾ ਚਾਰੁ ਚੀਰੈ ਬਨੈ ਕੈ ॥
kahoon chanchalaa chaar cheerai banai kai |

Some Apacharavan ('Chanchla') adorned with beautiful armor

ਬਰੈ ਜ੍ਵਾਨਿ ਜੋਧਾ ਜੁਝਿਯੋ ਜ੍ਵਾਨ ਧੈ ਕੈ ॥
barai jvaan jodhaa jujhiyo jvaan dhai kai |

Those young warriors who fought in the war were showering.

ਕਹੂੰ ਬੀਰ ਬੀਰਾਨ ਕੇ ਪਾਵ ਪੇਲੈਂ ॥
kahoon beer beeraan ke paav pelain |

Somewhere the warriors used to push the feet (back) of the warriors.

ਮਹਾ ਜੰਗ ਜੋਧਾ ਲਗੇ ਸੁਧ ਸੇਲੈਂ ॥੧੬੪॥
mahaa jang jodhaa lage sudh selain |164|

In (that) great war, the warriors were engaged (in killing) good spears. 164.

ਕਹੂੰ ਜਛਨੀ ਕਿੰਨ੍ਰਨੀ ਆਨਿ ਕੈ ਕੈ ॥
kahoon jachhanee kinranee aan kai kai |

Some Yakshni, Kinrani,

ਕਹੂੰ ਗੰਧ੍ਰਬੀ ਦੇਵਨੀ ਮੋਦ ਹ੍ਵੈ ਕੈ ॥
kahoon gandhrabee devanee mod hvai kai |

Gandharbi and Devani (women) were (walking) delighted.

ਕਹੂੰ ਅਛਰਾ ਪਛਰਾ ਗੀਤ ਗਾਵੈ ॥
kahoon achharaa pachharaa geet gaavai |

Somewhere the fairies and apes were singing.

ਕਹੂੰ ਚੰਚਲਾ ਅੰਚਲਾ ਕੋ ਬਨਾਵੈ ॥੧੬੫॥
kahoon chanchalaa anchalaa ko banaavai |165|

Somewhere women were decorating (beautiful) clothes. 165.

ਕਹੂੰ ਦੇਵ ਕੰਨ੍ਯਾ ਨਚੈ ਤਾਲ ਦੈ ਕੈ ॥
kahoon dev kanayaa nachai taal dai kai |

Somewhere the god-maidens were dancing to the rhythm

ਕਹੂੰ ਦੈਤ ਪੁਤ੍ਰੀ ਹਸੈ ਮੋਦ ਹ੍ਵੈ ਕੈ ॥
kahoon dait putree hasai mod hvai kai |

And somewhere the demon-daughters were laughing merrily.

ਕਹੂੰ ਚੰਚਲਾ ਅੰਚਲਾ ਕੋ ਬਨਾਵੈ ॥
kahoon chanchalaa anchalaa ko banaavai |

Somewhere women were making beautiful garments ('Anchala').

ਕਹੂੰ ਜਛਨੀ ਕਿੰਨ੍ਰਨੀ ਗੀਤ ਗਾਵੈ ॥੧੬੬॥
kahoon jachhanee kinranee geet gaavai |166|

Somewhere Yakshanis and Kinranis were singing songs. 166.

ਲਰੈ ਆਨਿ ਜੋਧਾ ਮਹਾ ਤੇਜ ਤੈ ਕੈ ॥
larai aan jodhaa mahaa tej tai kai |

The great Tejaswi warriors were fighting in anger
