ਕਰਬੇ ਕਹੁ ਰਛ ਸੁ ਗੋਪਨ ਕੀ ਬਰ ਪੂਟ ਲਯੋ ਨਗ ਕੋ ਪਹਿ ਹਥਾ ॥
karabe kahu rachh su gopan kee bar poott layo nag ko peh hathaa |For the protection of gopas, Krishna, greatly infuriated, uprooted the mountain and placed it on his hand
ਤਨ ਕੋ ਨ ਕਰਿਯੋ ਬਲ ਰੰਚਕ ਤਾਹ ਕਰਿਯੋ ਜੁ ਹੁਤੋ ਕਰ ਬੀਚ ਜਥਾ ॥
tan ko na kariyo bal ranchak taah kariyo ju huto kar beech jathaa |While doing this, he did not use even an iota of his power
ਨ ਚਲੀ ਤਿਨ ਕੀ ਕਿਛੁ ਗੋਪਨ ਪੈ ਕਬਿ ਸ੍ਯਾਮ ਕਹੈ ਗਜ ਜਾਹਿ ਰਥਾ ॥
n chalee tin kee kichh gopan pai kab sayaam kahai gaj jaeh rathaa |No force of Indra could work on gopas and he, in embarrassment and with down-cast face,
ਮੁਖਿ ਨ੍ਯਾਇ ਖਿਸਾਇ ਚਲਿਯੋ ਗ੍ਰਿਹ ਪੈ ਇਹ ਬੀਚ ਚਲੀ ਜਗ ਕੇ ਸੁ ਕਥਾ ॥੩੬੮॥
mukh nayaae khisaae chaliyo grih pai ih beech chalee jag ke su kathaa |368|He went towards his home, the story of the glory of Krishna became prevalent in the whole world.368.
ਨੰਦ ਕੋ ਨੰਦ ਬਡੋ ਸੁਖ ਕੰਦ ਰਿਪੁ ਆਰ ਸੁਰੰਦ ਸਬੁਧਿ ਬਿਸਾਰਦ ॥
nand ko nand baddo sukh kand rip aar surand sabudh bisaarad |Krishna, the son of Nand, is the giver of comfort to all, enemy of Indra, and master of true intellect
ਆਨਨ ਚੰਦ ਪ੍ਰਭਾ ਕਹੁ ਮੰਦ ਕਹੈ ਕਬਿ ਸ੍ਯਾਮ ਜਪੈ ਜਿਹ ਨਾਰਦ ॥
aanan chand prabhaa kahu mand kahai kab sayaam japai jih naarad |The face of the Lord, who is perfect in all arts, ever gives its mild light like the moon the poet Shyam says that the sage Narada also remembers him,
ਤਾ ਗਿਰਿ ਕੋਪ ਉਠਾਇ ਲਯੋ ਜੋਊ ਸਾਧਨ ਕੋ ਹਰਤਾ ਦੁਖ ਦਾਰਦ ॥
taa gir kop utthaae layo joaoo saadhan ko harataa dukh daarad |The same Krishna, being highly infuriated, carried the mountain and there was no effect of the clouds on the people below and
ਮੇਘ ਪਰੇ ਉਪਰਿਯੋ ਨ ਕਛੂ ਪਛਤਾਇ ਗਏ ਗ੍ਰਿਹ ਕੋ ਉਠਿ ਬਾਰਦ ॥੩੬੯॥
megh pare upariyo na kachhoo pachhataae ge grih ko utth baarad |369|In this way, repenting, the clouds returned to their homes.369.
ਕਾਨ੍ਰਹ ਉਪਾਰਿ ਲਯੋ ਕਰ ਮੋ ਗਿਰਿ ਏਕ ਪਰੀ ਨਹੀ ਬੂੰਦ ਸੁ ਪਾਨੀ ॥
kaanrah upaar layo kar mo gir ek paree nahee boond su paanee |Krishna uprooted the mountain and placed it on his hand and not even one drop of water fell on the earth
ਫੇਰਿ ਕਹੀ ਹਸਿ ਕੈ ਮੁਖ ਤੇ ਹਰਿ ਕੋ ਮਘਵਾ ਜੁ ਭਯੋ ਮੁਹਿ ਸਾਨੀ ॥
fer kahee has kai mukh te har ko maghavaa ju bhayo muhi saanee |Then Krishna said smilingly, “Who is this Indra who will confront me?
ਮਾਰਿ ਡਰਿਯੋ ਮੁਰ ਮੈ ਮਧੁ ਕੀਟਭ ਮਾਰਿਯੋ ਹਮੈ ਮਘਵਾ ਪਤਿ ਮਾਨੀ ॥
maar ddariyo mur mai madh keettabh maariyo hamai maghavaa pat maanee |“I had killed Madhu and Kaitabh also and this Indra had come to kill me
ਗੋਪਨ ਮੈ ਭਗਵਾਨ ਕਹੀ ਸੋਊ ਫੈਲ ਪਰੀ ਜਗ ਬੀਚ ਕਹਾਨੀ ॥੩੭੦॥
gopan mai bhagavaan kahee soaoo fail paree jag beech kahaanee |370|In this way, whatever words were uttered by the Lord (Krishna) amongst gopas, they spread throughout the world like a story.370.
ਗੋਪਨ ਕੀ ਕਰਬੇ ਕਹੁ ਰਛ ਸਤਕ੍ਰਿਤ ਪੈ ਹਰਿ ਜੀ ਜਬ ਕੋਪੇ ॥
gopan kee karabe kahu rachh satakrit pai har jee jab kope |
ਇਉ ਗਿਰਿ ਕੇ ਤਰਿ ਭਯੋ ਉਠਿ ਠਾਢਿ ਮਨੋ ਰੁਪ ਕੈ ਪਗ ਕੇਹਰਿ ਰੋਪੇ ॥
eiau gir ke tar bhayo utth tthaadt mano rup kai pag kehar rope |When Krishna became angry on Indra for the protection of gopas, then he fell down and got up like the one whose foot slips away
ਜਿਉ ਜੁਗ ਅੰਤ ਮੈ ਅੰਤਕ ਹ੍ਵੈ ਕਰਿ ਜੀਵਨ ਕੇ ਸਭ ਕੇ ਉਰਿ ਘੋਪੇ ॥
jiau jug ant mai antak hvai kar jeevan ke sabh ke ur ghope |At the end of the age, all the world of beings terminated and then a new world arises gradually
ਜਿਉ ਜਨ ਕੋ ਮਨ ਹੋਤ ਹੈ ਲੋਪ ਤਿਸੀ ਬਿਧਿ ਮੇਘ ਭਏ ਸਭ ਲੋਪੇ ॥੩੭੧॥
jiau jan ko man hot hai lop tisee bidh megh bhe sabh lope |371|Just as the mind of an ordinary man sometimes falls down and sometimes rises very high, in the same manner, all the clouds disappeared.371.
ਹੋਇ ਸਤਕ੍ਰਿਤ ਊਪਰ ਕੋਪ ਸੁ ਰਾਖ ਲਈ ਸਭ ਗੋਪ ਦਫਾ ॥
hoe satakrit aoopar kop su raakh lee sabh gop dafaa |Lowering the prestige of Indra, Krishna saved the gopas and the animals from destruction
ਤਿਨਿ ਮੇਘ ਬਿਦਾਰ ਦਏ ਛਿਨ ਮੈ ਜਿਨਿ ਦੈਤ ਕਰੇ ਸਭ ਏਕ ਗਫਾ ॥
tin megh bidaar de chhin mai jin dait kare sabh ek gafaa |Just as a demon devours a being at one time only, in the same manner, all the clouds were destroyed in an instant
ਕਰਿ ਕਉਤੁਕ ਪੈ ਰਿਪੁ ਟਾਰ ਦਏ ਬਿਨੁ ਹੀ ਧਰਏ ਸਰ ਸ੍ਯਾਮ ਜਫਾ ॥
kar kautuk pai rip ttaar de bin hee dhare sar sayaam jafaa |
ਸਭ ਗੋਪਨ ਕੀ ਕਰਬੈ ਕਹੁ ਰਛ ਸੁ ਸਕ੍ਰਨ ਲੀਨ ਲਪੇਟ ਸਫਾ ॥੩੭੨॥
sabh gopan kee karabai kahu rachh su sakran leen lapett safaa |372|With his amorous play, Krishna routed all his enemies and all the people began to kill Krishna and in this way, Indra folded up his maya for the protection of gopas.372.
ਜੁ ਲਈ ਸਭ ਮੇਘ ਲਪੇਟ ਸਫਾ ਅਰੁ ਲੀਨੋ ਹੈ ਪਬ ਉਪਾਰ ਜਬੈ ॥
ju lee sabh megh lapett safaa ar leeno hai pab upaar jabai |
ਇਹ ਰੰਚਕ ਸੋ ਇਹ ਹੈ ਗਰੂਓ ਗਿਰਿ ਚਿੰਤ ਕਰੀ ਮਨਿ ਬੀਚ ਸਬੈ ॥
eih ranchak so ih hai garooo gir chint karee man beech sabai |When the clouds went away and Krishna uprooted the mountain, then removing his anxiety from his mind that mountain seemed very light to him
ਇਹ ਦੈਤਨ ਕੋ ਮਰਤਾ ਕਰਤਾ ਸੁਖ ਹੈ ਦਿਵਿਯਾ ਜੀਯ ਦਾਨ ਅਬੈ ॥
eih daitan ko marataa karataa sukh hai diviyaa jeey daan abai |Krishna is the destroyer of the demons, giver of the comforts and the donor of the life-force
ਇਹ ਕੋ ਤੁਮ ਧ੍ਯਾਨ ਧਰੋ ਸਭ ਹੀ ਨਹਿ ਧ੍ਯਾਨ ਧਰੋ ਤੁਮ ਅਉਰ ਕਬੈ ॥੩੭੩॥
eih ko tum dhayaan dharo sabh hee neh dhayaan dharo tum aaur kabai |373|All the people should meditate on him, forsaking all meditations on others.373.
ਸਭ ਮੇਘ ਗਏ ਘਟ ਕੇ ਜਬ ਹੀ ਤਬ ਹੀ ਹਰਖੇ ਫੁਨਿ ਗੋਪ ਸਭੈ ॥
sabh megh ge ghatt ke jab hee tab hee harakhe fun gop sabhai |
ਇਹ ਭਾਤਿ ਲਗੇ ਕਹਨੇ ਮੁਖ ਤੇ ਭਗਵਾਨ ਦਯੋ ਹਮ ਦਾਨ ਅਭੈ ॥
eih bhaat lage kahane mukh te bhagavaan dayo ham daan abhai |When the clouds dwindled away, then all the gopas were pleased and said, “The Lord (Krishna) has given us fearlessness
ਮਘਵਾ ਜੁ ਕਰੀ ਕੁਪਿ ਦਉਰ ਹਮੂ ਪਰ ਸੋ ਤਿਹ ਕੋ ਨਹੀ ਬੇਰ ਲਭੈ ॥
maghavaa ju karee kup daur hamoo par so tih ko nahee ber labhai |Indra had attacked us in his fury, but he is invisible now and
ਅਬ ਕਾਨ੍ਰਹ ਪ੍ਰਤਾਪ ਤੇ ਹੈ ਘਟ ਬਾਦਰ ਏਕ ਨ ਦੀਸਤ ਬੀਚ ਨਭੈ ॥੩੭੪॥
ab kaanrah prataap te hai ghatt baadar ek na deesat beech nabhai |374|Through the glory of Krishna, there is not even one cloud in the sky.374.
ਗੋਪ ਕਹੈ ਸਭ ਹੀ ਮੁਖ ਤੇ ਇਹ ਕਾਨ੍ਰਹ ਬਲੀ ਬਰ ਹੈ ਬਲ ਮੈ ॥
gop kahai sabh hee mukh te ih kaanrah balee bar hai bal mai |All the gopas said, “Krishna is extremely powerful
ਜਿਨਿ ਕੂਦਿ ਕਿਲੇ ਸਤ ਮੋਰ ਮਰਿਯੋ ਜਿਨਿ ਜੁਧ ਸੰਖਾਸੁਰ ਸੋ ਜਲ ਮੈ ॥
jin kood kile sat mor mariyo jin judh sankhaasur so jal mai |He, who killed Mur by jumping in the fort and Shankhasura in water
ਇਹ ਹੈ ਕਰਤਾ ਸਭ ਹੀ ਜਗ ਕੋ ਅਰੁ ਫੈਲ ਰਹਿਯੋ ਜਲ ਅਉ ਥਲ ਮੈ ॥
eih hai karataa sabh hee jag ko ar fail rahiyo jal aau thal mai |
ਸੋਊ ਆਇ ਪ੍ਰਤਛਿ ਭਯੋ ਬ੍ਰਿਜ ਮੈ ਜੋਊ ਜੋਗ ਜੁਤੋ ਰਹੈ ਓਝਲ ਮੈ ॥੩੭੫॥
soaoo aae pratachh bhayo brij mai joaoo jog juto rahai ojhal mai |375|He is the Creator of the whole world and pervades on the plains and in waters, He, who was felt imperceptible earlier, He has come now in Braja apparently.375.
ਮੋਰ ਮਰਿਯੋ ਜਿਨਿ ਕੂਦ ਕਿਲੈ ਸਤ ਸੰਧਿ ਜਰਾ ਜਿਹ ਸੈਨ ਮਰੀ ॥
mor mariyo jin kood kilai sat sandh jaraa jih sain maree |
ਨਰਾਕਸੁਰ ਜਾਹਿ ਕਰਿਯੋ ਰਕਸੀ ਬਿਰਥੀ ਗਜ ਕੀ ਜਿਹ ਰਛ ਕਰੀ ॥
naraakasur jaeh kariyo rakasee birathee gaj kee jih rachh karee |He, who killed the demon Mur, by jumping in the fort, and who destroyed the army of Jarasandh, who destroyed Narakasura and who protected the elephant from octopus
ਜਿਹ ਰਾਖਿ ਲਈ ਪਤਿ ਪੈ ਦ੍ਰੁਪਤੀ ਸਿਲ ਜਾ ਲਗਤਿਉ ਪਗ ਪਾਰਿ ਪਰੀ ॥
jih raakh lee pat pai drupatee sil jaa lagatiau pag paar paree |
ਅਤਿ ਕੋਪਤ ਮੇਘਨ ਅਉ ਮਘਵਾ ਇਹ ਰਾਖ ਲਈ ਨੰਦ ਲਾਲਿ ਧਰੀ ॥੩੭੬॥
at kopat meghan aau maghavaa ih raakh lee nand laal dharee |376|He, who protected the honour of Daropati and with whose touch, Ahalya, who had been transformed into a stone, was saved, the same Krishna protected us from extremely enraged clouds and Indra.376.
ਮਘਵਾ ਜਿਹ ਫੇਰਿ ਦਈ ਪ੍ਰਤਨਾ ਜਿਹ ਦੈਤੁ ਮਰੇ ਇਹ ਕਾਨ ਬਲੀ ॥
maghavaa jih fer dee pratanaa jih dait mare ih kaan balee |He, who caused Indra to run away, who killed Putana and other demons, he is Krishna
ਜਿਹ ਕੋ ਜਨ ਨਾਮ ਜਪੈ ਮਨ ਮੈ ਜਿਹ ਕੋ ਫੁਨਿ ਭ੍ਰਾਤ ਹੈ ਬੀਰ ਹਲੀ ॥
jih ko jan naam japai man mai jih ko fun bhraat hai beer halee |He also is Krishna, whose name is remembered by all in the mind and whose brother is the brave Haldhar
ਜਿਹ ਤੇ ਸਭ ਗੋਪਨ ਕੀ ਬਿਪਤਾ ਹਰਿ ਕੇ ਕੁਪ ਤੇ ਛਿਨ ਮਾਹਿ ਟਲੀ ॥
jih te sabh gopan kee bipataa har ke kup te chhin maeh ttalee |Because of the Krishna, the trouble of gopas was finished in an instant and this is the praise of the same Lord,
ਤਿਹ ਕੋ ਲਖ ਕੈ ਉਪਮਾ ਭਗਵਾਨ ਕਰੈ ਜਿਹ ਕੀ ਸੁਤ ਕਉਲ ਕਲੀ ॥੩੭੭॥
tih ko lakh kai upamaa bhagavaan karai jih kee sut kaul kalee |377|Who transforms ordinary buds into bit lotus-flowers and raises very high an ordinary man.377.
ਕਾਨ ਉਪਾਰ ਲਯੋ ਗਰੂਓ ਗਿਰਿ ਧਾਮਿ ਖਿਸਾਇ ਗਯੋ ਮਘਵਾ ॥
kaan upaar layo garooo gir dhaam khisaae gayo maghavaa |On this side, Krishna carried the Goverdhan mountain, on the other side Indra,
ਸੋ ਉਪਜਿਯੋ ਬ੍ਰਿਜ ਭੂਮਿ ਬਿਖੈ ਜੋਊ ਤੀਸਰ ਜੁਗ ਭਯੋ ਰਘੁਵਾ ॥
so upajiyo brij bhoom bikhai joaoo teesar jug bhayo raghuvaa |Feeling ashamed in his mind, said that He, who was Ram in Treta age, has now incarnated in Braja
ਅਬ ਕਉਤੁਕਿ ਲੋਕ ਦਿਖਾਵਨ ਕੋ ਜਗ ਮੈ ਫੁਨਿ ਰੂਪ ਧਰਿਯੋ ਲਘੁਵਾ ॥
ab kautuk lok dikhaavan ko jag mai fun roop dhariyo laghuvaa |And in order to show to the world his amorous play, he has assumed the short-statured form of man
ਥਨ ਐਚ ਹਨੀ ਛਿਨ ਮੈ ਪੁਤਨਾ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮ ਕੇ ਲੇਤ ਹਰੇ ਅਘਵਾ ॥੩੭੮॥
than aaich hanee chhin mai putanaa har naam ke let hare aghavaa |378|He killed Putana in an instant by pulling her teat and also destroyed the demon Aghasura in an instant.378.
ਕਾਨ੍ਰਹ ਬਲੀ ਪ੍ਰਗਟਿਯੋ ਬ੍ਰਿਜ ਮੈ ਜਿਨਿ ਗੋਪਨ ਕੇ ਦੁਖ ਕਾਟਿ ਸਟੇ ॥
kaanrah balee pragattiyo brij mai jin gopan ke dukh kaatt satte |The mighty Krishna was born in Braja, who removed all the sufferings of gopas
ਸੁਖ ਸਾਧਨ ਕੇ ਪ੍ਰਗਟੇ ਤਬ ਹੀ ਦੁਖ ਦੈਤਨ ਕੇ ਸੁਨਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਘਟੇ ॥
sukh saadhan ke pragatte tab hee dukh daitan ke sun naam ghatte |On his manifestation, the comforts of the saints increased and the sufferings being created by the demons were lessened
ਇਹ ਹੈ ਕਰਤਾ ਸਭ ਹੀ ਜਗ ਕੋ ਬਲਿ ਕੋ ਅਰੁ ਇੰਦ੍ਰਹਿ ਲੋਕ ਬਟੇ ॥
eih hai karataa sabh hee jag ko bal ko ar indreh lok batte |He is the Creator of the whole world and is the dispeller of the pride of Bali and Indra
ਤਿਹ ਨਾਮ ਕੇ ਲੇਤ ਕਿਧੋ ਮੁਖ ਤੇ ਲਟ ਜਾਤ ਸਭੈ ਤਨ ਦੋਖ ਲਟੇ ॥੩੭੯॥
tih naam ke let kidho mukh te latt jaat sabhai tan dokh latte |379|By repeating His Name, the clusters of the sufferings are destroyed.379.
