ਵਹੈ ਕਾਲ ਘਾਯੰ ॥੩੩॥
vahai kaal ghaayan |33|

The chief of Kot Lehar was seized by death.33.

ਰਣੰ ਤਿਆਗਿ ਭਾਗੇ ॥
ranan tiaag bhaage |

(Eventually the king) left the battlefield and fled,

ਸਬੈ ਤ੍ਰਾਸ ਪਾਗੇ ॥
sabai traas paage |

The hill-men fled from the battlefield, all were filled with fear.

ਭਈ ਜੀਤ ਮੇਰੀ ॥
bhee jeet meree |

I'm done

ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾ ਕਾਲ ਕੇਰੀ ॥੩੪॥
kripaa kaal keree |34|

I gained victory through the favour of the Eternal Lord (KAL).34.

ਰਣੰ ਜੀਤਿ ਆਏ ॥
ranan jeet aae |

Having won the war (we returned).

ਜਯੰ ਗੀਤ ਗਾਏ ॥
jayan geet gaae |

We returned after victory and sang songs of triumph.

ਧਨੰਧਾਰ ਬਰਖੇ ॥
dhanandhaar barakhe |

rained money,

ਸਬੈ ਸੂਰ ਹਰਖੇ ॥੩੫॥
sabai soor harakhe |35|

I showered wealth on the warriors, who were full of rejoicings.35.

DOHRA

ਜੁਧ ਜੀਤ ਆਏ ਜਬੈ ਟਿਕੈ ਨ ਤਿਨ ਪੁਰ ਪਾਵ ॥
judh jeet aae jabai ttikai na tin pur paav |

When I returned after victory, I did not remain at Paonta.

ਕਾਹਲੂਰ ਮੈ ਬਾਧਿਯੋ ਆਨਿ ਅਨੰਦਪੁਰ ਗਾਵ ॥੩੬॥
kaahaloor mai baadhiyo aan anandapur gaav |36|

I came to Kahlur and established the village Anandpur.36.

ਜੇ ਜੇ ਨਰ ਤਹ ਨ ਭਿਰੇ ਦੀਨੇ ਨਗਰ ਨਿਕਾਰ ॥
je je nar tah na bhire deene nagar nikaar |

Those, who did not join the forces, were turned out from the town.

ਜੇ ਤਿਹ ਠਉਰ ਭਲੇ ਭਿਰੇ ਤਿਨੈ ਕਰੀ ਪ੍ਰਤਿਪਾਰ ॥੩੭॥
je tih tthaur bhale bhire tinai karee pratipaar |37|

And those who fought bravely were patronized by me 37.

CHAUPAI

ਬਹਤ ਦਿਵਸ ਇਹ ਭਾਤਿ ਬਿਤਾਏ ॥
bahat divas ih bhaat bitaae |

Many days passed like this.

ਸੰਤ ਉਬਾਰਿ ਦੁਸਟ ਸਭ ਘਾਏ ॥
sant ubaar dusatt sabh ghaae |

Many days passed in this way, he saints were protected and the wicked persons were killed.

ਟਾਗ ਟਾਗ ਕਰਿ ਹਨੇ ਨਿਦਾਨਾ ॥
ttaag ttaag kar hane nidaanaa |

They hanged those fools,

ਕੂਕਰ ਜਿਮਿ ਤਿਨ ਤਜੇ ਪ੍ਰਾਨਾ ॥੩੮॥
kookar jim tin taje praanaa |38|

The tyrants were hanged ultimately killed, they breathed their last like dogs.38.

ਅਥ ਨਉਦਨ ਕਾ ਜੁਧ ਬਰਨਨੰ ॥

Here begins the Description of the Battle of Nadaun:

CHAUPAI

ਬਹੁਤ ਕਾਲ ਇਹ ਭਾਤਿ ਬਿਤਾਯੋ ॥
bahut kaal ih bhaat bitaayo |

A lot of time passed like this.

ਮੀਆ ਖਾਨ ਜੰਮੂ ਕਹ ਆਯੋ ॥
meea khaan jamoo kah aayo |

Much time passed in this way, Mian Khan came (from Delhi) to Jammu (for collection of revenue).

ਅਲਿਫ ਖਾਨ ਨਾਦੌਣ ਪਠਾਵਾ ॥
alif khaan naadauan patthaavaa |

(He) sent Alf Khan to Nadaun,

ਭੀਮਚੰਦ ਤਨ ਬੈਰ ਬਢਾਵਾ ॥੧॥
bheemachand tan bair badtaavaa |1|

He sent Alif Khan to Nadaun, who developed enmity towards Bhim Chand (the Chief of Kahlur).1.

ਜੁਧ ਕਾਜ ਨ੍ਰਿਪ ਹਮੈ ਬੁਲਾਯੋ ॥
judh kaaj nrip hamai bulaayo |

The king called us to fight (with Alf Khan).

ਆਪਿ ਤਵਨ ਕੀ ਓਰ ਸਿਧਾਯੋ ॥
aap tavan kee or sidhaayo |

Bhim Chnad called me for assistance and himself went to face (the enemy).

ਤਿਨ ਕਠਗੜ ਨਵਰਸ ਪਰ ਬਾਧੋ ॥
tin katthagarr navaras par baadho |

Alf Khan built a wooden fort (front) on Navras (the hill named).

ਤੀਰ ਤੁਫੰਗ ਨਰੇਸਨ ਸਾਧੋ ॥੨॥
teer tufang naresan saadho |2|

Alif Khan prepared a wooden fort of the hill of Navras. The hill-chief also prepared their arrows and guns.2.

ਭੁਜੰਗ ਪ੍ਰਯਾਤ ਛੰਦ ॥
bhujang prayaat chhand |

BHUJANG STANZA

ਤਹਾ ਰਾਜ ਸਿੰਘ ਬਲੀ ਭੀਮ ਚੰਦੰ ॥
tahaa raaj singh balee bheem chandan |

There the mighty Raja Raj Singh with Bhim Chand

ਚੜਿਓ ਰਾਮ ਸਿੰਘ ਮਹਾ ਤੇਜਵੰਦੰ ॥
charrio raam singh mahaa tejavandan |

With brave Bhim Chand, there were Raj Singh, illustrious Ram Singh,

ਸੁਖੰਦੇਵ ਗਾਜੀ ਜਸਰੋਟ ਰਾਜੰ ॥
sukhandev gaajee jasarott raajan |

Sukhdev, the glorious king of Jasrot

ਚੜੇ ਕ੍ਰੁਧ ਕੀਨੇ ਕਰੇ ਸਰਬ ਕਾਜੰ ॥੩॥
charre krudh keene kare sarab kaajan |3|

And Sukhdev Gaji of Jasrot, were full of fury and managed their affairs with enthusiasm.3.

ਪ੍ਰਿਥੀਚੰਦ ਚਢਿਓ ਡਢੇ ਡਢਵਾਰੰ ॥
pritheechand chadtio ddadte ddadtavaaran |

Dhadha strong Prithichand Ddhawalia ascended.

ਚਲੇ ਸਿਧ ਹੁਐ ਕਾਰ ਰਾਜੰ ਸੁਧਾਰੰ ॥
chale sidh huaai kaar raajan sudhaaran |

There came also the brave Prithi Chand of Dadhwar after having made arrangements regarding the affairs of his state.

ਕਰੀ ਢੂਕ ਢੋਅੰ ਕਿਰਪਾਲ ਚੰਦੰ ॥
karee dtook dtoan kirapaal chandan |

Kripal Chand attacked closely

ਹਟਾਏ ਸਬੇ ਮਾਰਿ ਕੈ ਬੀਰ ਬ੍ਰਿੰਦੰ ॥੪॥
hattaae sabe maar kai beer brindan |4|

Kirpal Chand (of Kanara) arrived with ammunition and drove back and killed many of the warriors (of Bhim Chand).4.

ਦੁਤੀਯ ਢੋਅ ਢੂਕੇ ਵਹੈ ਮਾਰਿ ਉਤਾਰੀ ॥
duteey dtoa dtooke vahai maar utaaree |

Suited for the contest a second time, struck (them) down.

ਖਰੇ ਦਾਤ ਪੀਸੇ ਛੁਭੈ ਛਤ੍ਰਧਾਰੀ ॥
khare daat peese chhubhai chhatradhaaree |

When for the second time, the forces of Bhim Chand advanced, they were beaten back downwards to the great sorrow of (the allies of Bhim Chand),

ਉਤੈ ਵੈ ਖਰੇ ਬੀਰ ਬੰਬੈ ਬਜਾਵੈ ॥
autai vai khare beer banbai bajaavai |

There those warriors were shouting.

ਤਰੇ ਭੂਪ ਠਾਢੇ ਬਡੋ ਸੋਕੁ ਪਾਵੈ ॥੫॥
tare bhoop tthaadte baddo sok paavai |5|

The warriors on the hill sounded trumpets, while the chiefs below were filled with remorse.5.

ਤਬੈ ਭੀਮਚੰਦੰ ਕੀਯੋ ਕੋਪ ਆਪੰ ॥
tabai bheemachandan keeyo kop aapan |

Then Bhim Chand himself got angry

ਹਨੂਮਾਨ ਕੈ ਮੰਤ੍ਰ ਕੋ ਮੁਖਿ ਜਾਪੰ ॥
hanoomaan kai mantr ko mukh jaapan |

Then Bhim Chand was filled with great ire and began to recite the incantations of Hanuman.

ਸਬੈ ਬੀਰ ਬੋਲੈ ਹਮੈ ਭੀ ਬੁਲਾਯੰ ॥
sabai beer bolai hamai bhee bulaayan |

Called all the warriors and invited us too.

ਤਬੈ ਢੋਅ ਕੈ ਕੈ ਸੁ ਨੀਕੈ ਸਿਧਾਯੰ ॥੬॥
tabai dtoa kai kai su neekai sidhaayan |6|

He called all his warriors and also called me. Then all assembled and advanced for attack.6.

ਸਬੈ ਕੋਪ ਕੈ ਕੈ ਮਹਾ ਬੀਰ ਢੂਕੈ ॥
sabai kop kai kai mahaa beer dtookai |

All the great warriors moved forward in anger

ਚਲੈ ਬਾਰਿਬੈ ਬਾਰ ਕੋ ਜਿਉ ਭਭੂਕੈ ॥
chalai baaribai baar ko jiau bhabhookai |

All the great warriors marched forward with great ire like a flame over a fence of dry weeds.

ਤਹਾ ਬਿਝੁੜਿਆਲੰ ਹਠਿਯੋ ਬੀਰ ਦਿਆਲੰ ॥
tahaa bijhurriaalan hatthiyo beer diaalan |

Veer Dayal Chand, who was bullied there

ਉਠਿਯੋ ਸੈਨ ਲੈ ਸੰਗਿ ਸਾਰੀ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾਲੰ ॥੭॥
autthiyo sain lai sang saaree kripaalan |7|

Then on the other side, the valiant Raja Dayal of Bijharwal advanced with Raja Kirpal, alongwith all his his army.7.

ਮਧੁਭਾਰ ਛੰਦ ॥
madhubhaar chhand |

MADHUBHAAR STANZA

ਕੁਪਿਓ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾਲ ॥
kupio kripaal |

Kripal Chand was furious.

ਨਚੇ ਮਰਾਲ ॥
nache maraal |

Kirpal Chnad was in great fury. The horses danced.

ਬਜੇ ਬਜੰਤ ॥
baje bajant |

War bells started ringing

ਕਰੂਰੰ ਅਨੰਤ ॥੮॥
karooran anant |8|

And the pipes were played which presented a dreadful scene.8.

ਜੁਝੰਤ ਜੁਆਣ ॥
jujhant juaan |

The warriors began to fight,

ਬਾਹੈ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾਣ ॥
baahai kripaan |

The warriors foutht and struck their swords.

ਜੀਅ ਧਾਰਿ ਕ੍ਰੋਧ ॥
jeea dhaar krodh |

Being angry in mind

ਛਡੇ ਸਰੋਘ ॥੯॥
chhadde sarogh |9|

With rage, they showered volley of arrows.9.

ਲੁਝੈ ਨਿਦਾਣ ॥
lujhai nidaan |

(who) fight,

ਤਜੰਤ ਪ੍ਰਾਣ ॥
tajant praan |

The fighting soldiers fell in the field and breathed their last.

ਗਿਰ ਪਰਤ ਭੂਮਿ ॥
gir parat bhoom |

They fall on the ground

ਜਣੁ ਮੇਘ ਝੂਮਿ ॥੧੦॥
jan megh jhoom |10|

They fell. Like thundering clouds on the earth.10.

ਰਸਾਵਲ ਛੰਦ ॥
rasaaval chhand |

RASAVAL STANZA

ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾਲ ਕੋਪਿਯੰ ॥
kripaal kopiyan |

Kripal Chand got angry,

ਹਠੀ ਪਾਵ ਰੋਪਿਯੰ ॥
hatthee paav ropiyan |

Kirpal Chand, in great anger, stood firmly in the field.

ਸਰੋਘੰ ਚਲਾਏ ॥
saroghan chalaae |

Shoot too many arrows

ਬਡੇ ਬੀਰ ਘਾਏ ॥੧੧॥
badde beer ghaae |11|

With his volley of arrows, he killed great warriors.11.

ਹਣੈ ਛਤ੍ਰਧਾਰੀ ॥
hanai chhatradhaaree |

Chhatradhari (king) killed,

ਲਿਟੇ ਭੂਪ ਭਾਰੀ ॥
litte bhoop bhaaree |

He killed the chief, who lay dead on the ground.

ਮਹਾ ਨਾਦ ਬਾਜੇ ॥
mahaa naad baaje |
