ਦ੍ਵਾਦਸ ਬਰਖ ਸੰਗ ਲੈ ਸ੍ਵੈਯਹੁ ॥
dvaadas barakh sang lai svaiyahu |Taking (him) with him for twelve years.
ਨਿਹਸੰਸੈ ਘਰ ਮੈ ਸੁਤ ਹੋਈ ॥
nihasansai ghar mai sut hoee |Undoubtedly, a son will be born in the house.
ਯਾ ਮੈ ਬਾਤ ਨ ਦੂਜੀ ਕੋਈ ॥੧੦॥
yaa mai baat na doojee koee |10|There is no other thing (or meaning) in it. 10.
ਮਹਾ ਜਤੀ ਤਿਹ ਮੁਨਿ ਕੋ ਜਾਨਹੁ ॥
mahaa jatee tih mun ko jaanahu |Consider that Muni as a great race
ਕਹੂੰ ਨ ਬਿਨਸਾ ਤਾਹਿ ਪਛਾਨਹੁ ॥
kahoon na binasaa taeh pachhaanahu |And never think of him as imperishable ('binsa').
ਰੰਭਾਦਿਕ ਇਸਤ੍ਰੀ ਪਚਿ ਹਾਰੀ ॥
ranbhaadik isatree pach haaree |Women like Rambha (apachharas) have been consumed
ਬ੍ਰਤ ਤੇ ਟਰਾ ਨ ਰਿਖਿ ਬ੍ਰਤ ਧਾਰੀ ॥੧੧॥
brat te ttaraa na rikh brat dhaaree |11|But (that) vowed person has not deviated from his vow. 11.
ਹਮ ਤੁਮ ਸਾਥ ਤਹਾ ਦੋਊ ਜਾਵੈਂ ॥
ham tum saath tahaa doaoo jaavain |(So) you and I both go there together
ਜ੍ਯੋਂ ਤ੍ਯੋਂ ਮੁਨਹਿ ਪਾਇ ਪਰ ਲ੍ਯਾਵੈਂ ॥
jayon tayon muneh paae par layaavain |And how to bring the sage (home) by stepping on his feet.
ਬਾਰਹ ਬਰਿਸ ਮੋਰਿ ਸੰਗ ਸ੍ਵਾਵਹੁ ॥
baarah baris mor sang svaavahu |Let him sleep with me for twelve years
ਨਿਹਸੰਸੈ ਘਰ ਮੈ ਸੁਤ ਪਾਵਹੁ ॥੧੨॥
nihasansai ghar mai sut paavahu |12|And get a son in the house without any hesitation. 12.
ਸੁਨਿ ਬਚ ਨ੍ਰਿਪ ਉਠਿ ਠਾਢੋ ਭਯੋ ॥
sun bach nrip utth tthaadto bhayo |Hearing the words, the king stood up
ਰਾਨੀ ਸਹਿਤ ਤਵਨ ਬਨ ਗਯੋ ॥
raanee sahit tavan ban gayo |And went to that bun with the queen.
ਜਹ ਛ੍ਵੈ ਬ੍ਰਿਛ ਗਗਨ ਤਨ ਰਹੇ ॥
jah chhvai brichh gagan tan rahe |Where the wings were touching the sky.
ਘੋਰ ਭਯਾਨਕ ਜਾਤ ਨ ਕਹੇ ॥੧੩॥
ghor bhayaanak jaat na kahe |13|(That bun) was very terrible (which) cannot be described. 13.
ਰਾਨੀ ਸਹਿਤ ਰਾਵ ਤਹ ਗਯੋ ॥
raanee sahit raav tah gayo |The king went there along with the queen
ਹੇਰਤ ਤਵਨ ਮੁਨੀਸਹਿ ਭਯੋ ॥
herat tavan muneeseh bhayo |And (went) saw that sage.
ਨਾਰਿ ਸਹਿਤ ਪਾਇਨ ਤਿਹ ਪਰਿਯੋ ॥
naar sahit paaein tih pariyo |Along with the woman lay at his feet
ਚਿਤ ਮੈ ਇਹੈ ਬਿਚਾਰ ਬਿਚਾਰਿਯੋ ॥੧੪॥
chit mai ihai bichaar bichaariyo |14|And made this idea in mind. 14.
ਜੋ ਸਿਵ ਸੁਪਨ ਸਮੈ ਕਹਿ ਗਯੋ ॥
jo siv supan samai keh gayo |What Shiva had said in his dream,
ਸੋ ਹਮ ਸਾਚੁ ਦ੍ਰਿਗਨ ਲਹਿ ਲਯੋ ॥
so ham saach drigan leh layo |I have seen it with my own eyes.
ਜ੍ਯੋਂ ਤ੍ਯੋਂ ਕਰਿ ਇਹ ਗ੍ਰਿਹ ਲੈ ਜਾਊਾਂ ॥
jayon tayon kar ih grih lai jaaooaan |Like how to take it home
ਲੈ ਰਾਨੀ ਕੇ ਸਾਥ ਸੁਵਾਊਾਂ ॥੧੫॥
lai raanee ke saath suvaaooaan |15|And take it with the queen. 15.
ਜ੍ਯੋਂ ਜ੍ਯੋਂ ਨ੍ਰਿਪ ਪਾਇਨ ਪਰ ਪਰੈ ॥
jayon jayon nrip paaein par parai |As the king fell at his feet
ਤ੍ਯੋਂ ਤ੍ਯੋਂ ਮੁਨਿ ਆਂਖੈ ਨ ਉਘਰੈ ॥
tayon tayon mun aankhai na ugharai |Muni did not open his eyes every now and then.
ਤ੍ਯੋਂ ਰਾਜਾ ਸੀਸਹਿ ਨਿਹੁਰਾਵੈ ॥
tayon raajaa seeseh nihuraavai |The king used to shave his head
ਤਾ ਕਹ ਮਹਾ ਮੁਨੀ ਠਹਰਾਵੈ ॥੧੬॥
taa kah mahaa munee tthaharaavai |16|And considered him as a great sage. 16.
ਜਬ ਨ੍ਰਿਪ ਅਨਿਕ ਬਾਰ ਪਗ ਪਰਾ ॥
jab nrip anik baar pag paraa |When the king fell many times,
ਤਬ ਆਂਖੈ ਮੁਨਿ ਦੁਹੂੰ ਉਘਰਾ ॥
tab aankhai mun duhoon ugharaa |Then Muni opened both his eyes.
ਤਾ ਸੌ ਕਹਾ ਕਿਹ ਨਮਿਤਿ ਆਯੋ ॥
taa sau kahaa kih namit aayo |He said that for what (work) have come
ਕਿਹ ਕਾਰਨ ਇਸਤ੍ਰੀ ਸੰਗ ਲ੍ਯਾਯੋ ॥੧੭॥
kih kaaran isatree sang layaayo |17|And for what reason have you brought the woman along. 17.
ਹਮ ਹੈ ਮੁਨਿ ਕਾਨਨ ਕੇ ਬਾਸੀ ॥
ham hai mun kaanan ke baasee |We Muni people are the inhabitants of the forest
ਏਕ ਨਾਮ ਜਾਨਤ ਅਬਿਨਾਸੀ ॥
ek naam jaanat abinaasee |And we know the name of only one immortal.
ਰਾਜਾ ਪ੍ਰਜਾ ਬਸਤ ਕਿਹ ਠੌਰਾ ॥
raajaa prajaa basat kih tthauaraa |Where the king and the subjects reside (we do not know).
ਹਮ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕੇ ਰਾਚੇ ਰਸ ਬੌਰਾ ॥੧੮॥
ham prabh ke raache ras bauaraa |18|We are engrossed in the juice of the Lord. 18.
ਯਹ ਸੰਪਤਿ ਹਮਰੇ ਕਿਹ ਕਾਜਾ ॥
yah sanpat hamare kih kaajaa |O Rajan! What is this property of ours?
ਜੋ ਲੈ ਹਮੈ ਦਿਖਾਵਤ ਰਾਜਾ ॥
jo lai hamai dikhaavat raajaa |which (you) show us.
ਹਮ ਨਹਿ ਧਾਮ ਕਿਸੂ ਕੇ ਜਾਹੀ ॥
ham neh dhaam kisoo ke jaahee |We don't go to anyone's house,
ਬਨ ਹੀ ਮਹਿ ਹਰਿ ਧ੍ਯਾਨ ਲਗਾਹੀ ॥੧੯॥
ban hee meh har dhayaan lagaahee |19|(Only) we meditate in Hari only in Ban. 19.
ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾ ਕਰਹੁ ਨ੍ਰਿਪ ਧਾਮ ਪਧਾਰੋ ॥
kripaa karahu nrip dhaam padhaaro |(In reply Raja Muni began to say)
ਹਮਰੇ ਬਡੇ ਅਘਨ ਕਹ ਟਾਰੋ ॥
hamare badde aghan kah ttaaro |Please go to the king's house and remove our major sins.
ਬਾਰਹ ਬਰਿਸ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾ ਕਰਿ ਰਹਿਯੈ ॥
baarah baris kripaa kar rahiyai |Stay for twelve years please.
ਬਹੁਰੋ ਮਗ ਬਨ ਹੀ ਕੋ ਗਹਿਯੈ ॥੨੦॥
bahuro mag ban hee ko gahiyai |20|Then take the path of the bun itself. 20.
ਜਬ ਨ੍ਰਿਪ ਅਧਿਕ ਨਿਹੋਰਾ ਕਿਯੋ ॥
jab nrip adhik nihoraa kiyo |When the king pleaded a lot,
ਤਬ ਇਹ ਬਿਧਿ ਉਤਰਿ ਰਿਖਿ ਦਿਯੋ ॥
tab ih bidh utar rikh diyo |Then Rikhi replied thus,
ਹਮਰੋ ਕਹਾ ਧਾਮ ਤਵ ਕਾਜਾ ॥
hamaro kahaa dhaam tav kaajaa |What is our business in your house?
ਬਾਰ ਬਾਰ ਪਕਰਤ ਪਗ ਰਾਜਾ ॥੨੧॥
baar baar pakarat pag raajaa |21|O Rajan! (Why) do you hold your feet again and again. 21.
ਹਮ ਕਹ ਸਿਵ ਤੁਹਿ ਆਪੁ ਬਤਾਯੋ ॥
ham kah siv tuhi aap bataayo |(The king replied) Shiva himself has told us about you.
