ਭੇਖ ਪੁਰਖ ਸਹਚਰਿ ਕਰਿ ਦਈ ਪਠਾਇ ਕੈ ॥
bhekh purakh sahachar kar dee patthaae kai |(Raj Kumari) sent a Sakhi to her father disguised as a man
ਤਾ ਕੇ ਪਿਤੁ ਕੇ ਪਾਸ ਯੌ ਕਹਿਯਹੁ ਜਾਇ ਕੈ ॥
taa ke pit ke paas yau kahiyahu jaae kai |(And explained that to him) go and say
ਬੂਡਿ ਮਰਾ ਤਵ ਸੁਤ ਹਮ ਆਂਖਿਨ ਸੌ ਲਹਾ ॥
boodd maraa tav sut ham aankhin sau lahaa |That your son is drowned and I have seen with my eyes.
ਹੋ ਬਹਤ ਨਦੀ ਮਹਿ ਗਯੋ ਨ ਕਰ ਕਿਨਹੂੰ ਗਹਾ ॥੭॥
ho bahat nadee meh gayo na kar kinahoon gahaa |7|No one held the hand of those who were washed away in the river. 7.
ਸਾਹੁ ਸੁਨਤ ਇਹ ਭਾਤਿ ਉਠਾ ਅਕੁਲਾਇ ਕੈ ॥
saahu sunat ih bhaat utthaa akulaae kai |After hearing this, Shah woke up distraught.
ਸਰਿਤਾ ਤੀਰ ਪੁਕਾਰਤ ਆਤੁਰ ਜਾਇ ਕੈ ॥
saritaa teer pukaarat aatur jaae kai |He went to the bank of the river and started making noises.
ਲੋਟਤ ਲੋਟਤ ਭੂ ਪਰ ਇਤ ਤੇ ਉਤ ਗਯੋ ॥
lottat lottat bhoo par it te ut gayo |He went from here to there lying on the ground
ਹੋ ਮਾਲ ਮਤਾਹ ਲੁਟਾਇ ਅਥਿਤ ਹ੍ਵੈ ਜਾਤ ਭਯੋ ॥੮॥
ho maal mataah luttaae athit hvai jaat bhayo |8|And became a saint after looting wealth. 8.
ਵਹੀ ਸਖੀ ਯਾ ਪਹਿ ਇਹ ਭਾਤਿ ਉਚਾਰਿਯੋ ॥
vahee sakhee yaa peh ih bhaat uchaariyo |(Then) that Sakhi said to this (Shah's son).
ਤਵ ਪਿਤੁ ਹ੍ਵੈ ਕਰਿ ਅਤਿਥ ਸੁ ਬਨਹਿ ਪਧਾਰਿਯੋ ॥
tav pit hvai kar atith su baneh padhaariyo |That your father has become a saint and gone to Ban.
ਮਾਲ ਮਤਾਹਿ ਲੁਟਾਇ ਜਾਤ ਬਨ ਕੌ ਭਯੋ ॥
maal mataeh luttaae jaat ban kau bhayo |After looting the property, he went to the forest
ਹੋ ਰਾਜ ਕੁਅਰਿ ਕੇ ਧਾਮ ਸੌਪਿ ਤੁਮ ਕਹ ਗਯੋ ॥੯॥
ho raaj kuar ke dhaam sauap tum kah gayo |9|And you have been handed over to the house of the princess. 9.
ਪਿਤੁ ਤੇ ਭਯੋ ਨਿਰਾਸ ਰਹਤ ਤਿਹ ਗ੍ਰਿਹ ਭਯੋ ॥
pit te bhayo niraas rahat tih grih bhayo |(The Shah's son) was disappointed by his father and stayed at his house.
ਦੇਸ ਮਾਲ ਸੁਖ ਪਾਇ ਬਿਸਰਿ ਸਭ ਹੀ ਗਯੋ ॥
des maal sukh paae bisar sabh hee gayo |(There) after attaining happiness, the country, wealth etc. were all forgotten.
ਕਾਜ ਕਰਤ ਸੋਈ ਭਯੋ ਕੁਅਰਿ ਜੋ ਤਿਹ ਕਹਿਯੋ ॥
kaaj karat soee bhayo kuar jo tih kahiyo |He started doing what Raj Kumari said.
ਹੋ ਇਹ ਛਲ ਸੇਤੀ ਛਲਾ ਸਦਾ ਤਾ ਕੇ ਰਹਿਯੋ ॥੧੦॥
ho ih chhal setee chhalaa sadaa taa ke rahiyo |10|He tricked (the king's son) with this trick and stayed there forever. 10.
ਅਪਨੋ ਧਾਮ ਬਿਸਾਰਿ ਕੁਅਰਿ ਚਿਤ ਤੇ ਦਯੋ ॥
apano dhaam bisaar kuar chit te dayo |Forgetting his home, he sat on the bed of Raj Kumari.
ਬਹੁਤ ਕਾਲ ਸੁਖ ਪਾਇ ਰਹਤ ਤਿਹ ਗ੍ਰਿਹ ਭਯੋ ॥
bahut kaal sukh paae rahat tih grih bhayo |Lived happily in his house for a long time.
ਭੇਦ ਨ ਦੂਜੇ ਕਾਨ ਕਿਨੂੰ ਨਰ ਜਾਨਿਯੋ ॥
bhed na dooje kaan kinoo nar jaaniyo |(Regarding this matter) no other person was even bothered.
ਹੋ ਸਾਹੁ ਪੁਤ੍ਰ ਸੌ ਅਧਿਕ ਕੁਅਰਿ ਰਸ ਠਾਨਿਯੋ ॥੧੧॥
ho saahu putr sau adhik kuar ras tthaaniyo |11|Raj Kumari enjoyed a lot with Shah's son. 11.
ਇਤਿ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਚਰਿਤ੍ਰ ਪਖ੍ਯਾਨੇ ਤ੍ਰਿਯਾ ਚਰਿਤ੍ਰੇ ਮੰਤ੍ਰੀ ਭੂਪ ਸੰਬਾਦੇ ਦੋਇ ਸੌ ਬਾਸਠ ਚਰਿਤ੍ਰ ਸਮਾਪਤਮ ਸਤੁ ਸੁਭਮ ਸਤੁ ॥੨੬੨॥੪੯੫੧॥ਅਫਜੂੰ॥
eit sree charitr pakhayaane triyaa charitre mantree bhoop sanbaade doe sau baasatth charitr samaapatam sat subham sat |262|4951|afajoon|Here ends the 262nd charitra of Mantri Bhup Sambad of Tria Charitra of Sri Charitropakhyan, all is auspicious. 262.4951. goes on

ਅਜੈਚੰਦ ਪੂਰਬ ਕੀ ਦਿਸਿ ਨ੍ਰਿਪ ॥
ajaichand poorab kee dis nrip |There was a king named Ajaichand in the eastern direction
ਅਨਿਕ ਭਾਤਿ ਜੀਤੇ ਜਿਨ ਬਹੁ ਰਿਪ ॥
anik bhaat jeete jin bahu rip |Who had conquered many enemies in many ways.
ਨਾਗਰਮਤੀ ਨਾਰੀ ਤਾ ਕੇ ਘਰ ॥
naagaramatee naaree taa ke ghar |There was a woman in his house named Nagar Mati
ਰੂਪਵਾਨ ਦੁਤਿਮਾਨ ਛਟਾ ਬਰ ॥੧॥
roopavaan dutimaan chhattaa bar |1|Which was very beautiful, bright and with excellent image. 1.
ਜੁਧਕਰਨ ਰਾਜਾ ਕੋ ਭ੍ਰਾਤਾ ॥
judhakaran raajaa ko bhraataa |There was a brother of the king named Judhkaran
ਕੁੰਟ ਚਾਰਹੂੰ ਬਿਚ ਬਿਖ੍ਯਾਤਾ ॥
kuntt chaarahoon bich bikhayaataa |Who was famous among the four Kuntas.
ਅਤਿ ਹੀ ਰੂਪ ਤਵਨ ਕੋ ਰਾਜਤ ॥
at hee roop tavan ko raajat |Her very beautiful form was beautified.
ਜਾਨੁ ਦਿਵਾਕਰਿ ਦੁਤਿਯ ਬਿਰਾਜਤ ॥੨॥
jaan divaakar dutiy biraajat |2|(It seemed like) as if it were the second sun. 2.
ਦੋਹਰਾ ॥
doharaa |dual:
ਅਬਲਾ ਤਾ ਕੋ ਰੂਪ ਲਖਿ ਅਟਿਕ ਰਹੀ ਮਨ ਮਾਹਿ ॥
abalaa taa ko roop lakh attik rahee man maeh |Seeing his form, Rani got stuck in her mind
ਪਤਿ ਕਰਿ ਦਿਯਾ ਬਿਸਾਰਿ ਕਰਿ ਕਛੂ ਰਹੀ ਸੁਧਿ ਨਾਹਿ ॥੩॥
pat kar diyaa bisaar kar kachhoo rahee sudh naeh |3|And forgot (her) husband and did not have any clear wisdom. 3.
ਚੌਪਈ ॥
chauapee |twenty four:
ਸਖੀ ਹੁਤੀ ਇਕ ਤਹਾ ਸ੍ਯਾਨੀ ॥
sakhee hutee ik tahaa sayaanee |(He) had a clever teacher there.
ਤਿਨ ਯਹ ਬਾਤ ਸਕਲ ਪਹਿਚਾਨੀ ॥
tin yah baat sakal pahichaanee |He understood all this.
ਰਨਿਯਹਿ ਭਾਖਿ ਤਹਾ ਚਲਿ ਗਈ ॥
raniyeh bhaakh tahaa chal gee |She said to the queen and went there
ਸਭ ਤਿਹ ਬਾਤ ਬਤਾਵਤ ਭਈ ॥੪॥
sabh tih baat bataavat bhee |4|And there (went) told the whole thing. 4.
ਜੁਧਕਰਨ ਇਹ ਬਾਤ ਨ ਮਾਨੀ ॥
judhakaran ih baat na maanee |Judhkaran did not accept this (of the queen).
ਨਾਗਮਤੀ ਤਬ ਭਈ ਖਿਸਾਨੀ ॥
naagamatee tab bhee khisaanee |Then Nag Mati got irritated
ਜਾ ਮਹਿ ਮੈ ਅਪਨਾ ਮਨ ਦਿਯਾ ॥
jaa meh mai apanaa man diyaa |That to whom I gave my heart,
ਉਹ ਜੜ ਹਮ ਮੈ ਚਿਤ ਨ ਕਿਯਾ ॥੫॥
auh jarr ham mai chit na kiyaa |5|That fool did not even pay attention to me.5.
ਦੋਹਰਾ ॥
doharaa |dual:
ਜੌ ਇਹ ਹਮਰੀ ਸਭ ਬ੍ਰਿਥਾ ਕਹਿ ਹੈ ਕਾਹੂ ਪਾਸ ॥
jau ih hamaree sabh brithaa keh hai kaahoo paas |If he (Judhkaran) will tell my whole story to someone else,
ਅਜੈਚੰਦ ਰਾਜਾ ਅਬੈ ਹਮ ਤੇ ਹੋਇ ਉਦਾਸ ॥੬॥
ajaichand raajaa abai ham te hoe udaas |6|Then King Ajaichand will be sad for me now. 6.
ਚੌਪਈ ॥
chauapee |twenty four:
ਤਬ ਪਤਿ ਔਰ ਤ੍ਰਿਯਨ ਹਿਤ ਕੈ ਹੈ ॥
tab pat aauar triyan hit kai hai |Then (my) husband will increase his interest with another woman
ਭੂਲ ਨ ਧਾਮ ਹਮਾਰੇ ਐ ਹੈ ॥
bhool na dhaam hamaare aai hai |And he will not come to my house even if he forgets.
ਤਬ ਹੌ ਕਾਜ ਕਹੌ ਕਾ ਕਰਿ ਹੌ ॥
tab hau kaaj kahau kaa kar hau |Then tell me, what should I do?
ਬਿਰਹਾ ਕੀ ਪਾਵਕ ਮਹਿ ਬਰਿ ਹੌ ॥੭॥
birahaa kee paavak meh bar hau |7|(Just) keep burning in the fire of withdrawal. 7.
ਦੋਹਰਾ ॥
doharaa |dual:
ਤਾ ਤੇ ਕਰੋ ਚਰਿਤ੍ਰ ਕਛੁ ਹਨਿਯੈ ਯਾ ਕਹੁ ਆਜ ॥
taa te karo charitr kachh haniyai yaa kahu aaj |Therefore, he should be killed today by doing some character.
ਸਾਮ ਡਾਰਿ ਯਾ ਕੇ ਇਸੈ ਹਨੌ ਨ ਜਾਨਹਿ ਰਾਜ ॥੮॥
saam ddaar yaa ke isai hanau na jaaneh raaj |8|It should be killed by Sama (with intention) (by speaking endearing words) so that the king does not find out. 8.
ਚੌਪਈ ॥
chauapee |twenty four:
ਏਕ ਸਖੀ ਕਹ ਕਹਿ ਸਮਝਾਯੋ ॥
ek sakhee kah keh samajhaayo |(He) called a sakhi and explained
ਅਧਿਕ ਦਰਬੁ ਦੈ ਤਹਾ ਪਠਾਯੋ ॥
adhik darab dai tahaa patthaayo |And sent there with a lot of money.
ਜਬ ਆਵਤ ਨ੍ਰਿਪ ਕਹ ਲਖਿ ਲੀਜੌ ॥
jab aavat nrip kah lakh leejau |(Reminded that) when you see the king coming
ਤਬ ਮਦ ਪੀ ਗਾਰੀ ਤਿਹ ਦੀਜੌ ॥੯॥
tab mad pee gaaree tih deejau |9|So drink alcohol and abuse him. 9.
ਅਜੈਚੰਦ ਤਿਹ ਠਾ ਜਬ ਆਯੋ ॥
ajaichand tih tthaa jab aayo |When King Ajaichand came to that place
ਅਪਹਿ ਤ੍ਰਿਯ ਬੌਰੀ ਠਹਰਾਯੋ ॥
apeh triy bauaree tthaharaayo |So the maid showed herself as Kamali.
ਭਾਤਿ ਅਨਿਕ ਗਾਰਿਨ ਤਿਹ ਦੀਯੋ ॥
bhaat anik gaarin tih deeyo |He was abused in many ways
ਕੋਪਮਾਨ ਰਾਜਾ ਕਹ ਕੀਯੋ ॥੧੦॥
kopamaan raajaa kah keeyo |10|And made the king angry. 10.
ਨ੍ਰਿਪ ਇਹ ਕਹਾ ਅਬੈ ਗਹਿ ਲੇਹੁ ॥
nrip ih kahaa abai geh lehu |Grab it now, said the king
ਡਾਰਿ ਇਸੀ ਧੌਲਰ ਤੇ ਦੇਹੁ ॥
ddaar isee dhaualar te dehu |And cast (down) from the palace.
ਤਬ ਸਖਿ ਭਾਜ ਜਾਤ ਭੀ ਤਹਾ ॥
tab sakh bhaaj jaat bhee tahaa |Then Sakhi ran away there
ਜੁਧਕਰਨ ਕੋ ਗ੍ਰਿਹ ਥੋ ਜਹਾ ॥੧੧॥
judhakaran ko grih tho jahaa |11|Where Judhkaran's house was. 11.
ਅਧਿਕ ਕੋਪ ਰਾਨੀ ਤਬ ਭਈ ॥
adhik kop raanee tab bhee |Then (here) the queen came in great anger
ਸੈਨਾ ਕੋ ਆਗ੍ਯਾ ਇਮ ਦਈ ॥
sainaa ko aagayaa im dee |And allowed the army to do so.
ਜਿਨ ਨ੍ਰਿਪ ਚੋਰ ਡਾਰਿ ਗ੍ਰਿਹ ਰਾਖੀ ॥
jin nrip chor ddaar grih raakhee |Who has hidden the king's thief in the house,
ਤਾ ਕੋ ਹਨੋ ਆਜ ਯੌ ਭਾਖੀ ॥੧੨॥
taa ko hano aaj yau bhaakhee |12|Kill him now, he started saying like this. 12.
ਦੋਹਰਾ ॥
doharaa |dual:
ਯੌ ਨ੍ਰਿਪ ਹੂੰ ਆਗ੍ਯਾ ਦਈ ਅਤਿ ਚਿਤ ਕੋਪ ਬਢਾਇ ॥
yau nrip hoon aagayaa dee at chit kop badtaae |The king also gave the same permission with much anger in his heart
