ਚੁ ਸੈਲੇ ਰਵਾਂ ਹਮਚੂੰ ਤੀਰੋ ਤੁਫ਼ੰਗ ॥੩੧॥
chu saile ravaan hamachoon teero tufang |31|came in the battlefield like a flood.31.
ਬਸੇ ਹਮਲਾ ਕਰਦੰਦ ਬ ਮਰਦਾਨਗੀ ॥
base hamalaa karadand b maradaanagee |He shot arrows heroically,
ਹਮ ਅਜ਼ ਹੋਸ਼ਗੀ ਹਮਅਜ਼ ਦੀਵਾਨਗੀ ॥੩੨॥
ham az hoshagee hamaz deevaanagee |32|sometimes in senses and sometimes in madness.32.
ਬਸੇ ਹਮਲਾ ਕਰਦੰਦ ਬਸੇ ਜ਼ਖ਼ਮ ਖ਼ੁਰਦ ॥
base hamalaa karadand base zakham khurad |He made several attacks
ਦੁ ਕਸ ਰਾ ਬਜ਼ਾਂ ਕੁਸ਼ਤ ਹਮ ਜਾਂ ਸਪੁਰਦ ॥੩੩॥
du kas raa bazaan kushat ham jaan sapurad |33|and was drenched with last.33.
ਕਿ ਆਂ ਖ਼੍ਵਾਜਾ ਮਰਦੂਦ ਸਾਯਹ ਦੀਵਾਰ ॥
ki aan khvaajaa maradood saayah deevaar |Khwaja Mardud hid himself behind the wall
ਬਮੈਦਾਂ ਨਿਆਮਦ ਬਮਰਦਾਨਹ ਵਾਰ ॥੩੪॥
bamaidaan niaamad bamaradaanah vaar |34|He did not enter the field like a brave warrior.34.
ਦਰੇਗ਼ਾ ਅਗਰ ਰੂਇ ਓ ਦੀਦਮੇ ॥
daregaa agar rooe o deedame |If I had seen his face once,
ਬਯਕ ਤੀਰ ਲਾਚਾਰ ਬਖ਼ਸ਼ੀਦਮੇ ॥੩੫॥
bayak teer laachaar bakhasheedame |35|one of my arrows would have dispatched him to the abode of death.35.
ਹਮਾਖ਼ਰ ਬਸੇ ਜ਼ਖ਼ਮਿ ਤੀਰੋ ਤੁਫ਼ੰਗ ॥
hamaakhar base zakham teero tufang |Many warriors wounded with arrows and bullets
ਦੁਸੂਏ ਬਸੇ ਕੁਸ਼ਤਹ ਸ਼ੁਦ ਬੇਦਰੰਗ ॥੩੬॥
dusooe base kushatah shud bedarang |36|died in the battle on both the sides.36.
ਬਸੇ ਬਾਰ ਬਾਰੀਦ ਤੀਰੋ ਤੁਫ਼ੰਗ ॥
base baar baareed teero tufang |The darts were showered so violently,
ਜ਼ਿਮੀਂ ਗਸ਼ਤ ਹਮਚੂੰ ਗੁਲੇ ਲਾਲਹ ਰੰਗ ॥੩੭॥
zimeen gashat hamachoon gule laalah rang |37|that the field became red like popyflowers.37.
ਸਰੋ ਪਾਇ ਅੰਬੋਹੁ ਚੰਦਾਂ ਸ਼ੁਦਹ ॥
saro paae anbohu chandaan shudah |The heads and limbs of the dead were scattered in the field
ਕਿ ਮੈਦਾਂ ਪੁਰਜ਼ ਗੋਇ ਚੌਗਾਂ ਸ਼ੁਦਹ ॥੩੮॥
ki maidaan puraz goe chauagaan shudah |38|like the balls and sticks in the game of Polo.38.
ਤਰੰਕਾਰਿ ਤੀਰੋ ਤੁਫ਼ੰਗੋ ਕਮਾਂ ॥
tarankaar teero tufango kamaan |When the arrows hissed and bows tinkled,
ਬਰਾਮਦ ਯਕੇ ਹਾ ਓ ਹੂ ਅਜ਼ ਜਹਾਂ ॥੩੯॥
baraamad yake haa o hoo az jahaan |39|there was a great hue and cry in the world.39.
ਦਿਗਰ ਸ਼ੋਰਸ਼ੇ ਕੈਬਰੇ ਕੀਨਹ ਕੋਸ਼ ॥
digar shorashe kaibare keenah kosh |There the spears and lances provided a dreadful sound
ਜ਼ਿ ਮਰਦਾਨਿ ਮਰਦਾਂ ਬਰੂੰ ਰਫ਼ਤ ਹੋਸ਼ ॥੪੦॥
zi maradaan maradaan baroon rafat hosh |40|and the warriors lost heir senses.40.
ਹਮਾਖ਼ਰ ਚਿ ਮਰਦੀ ਕੁਨਦ ਕਾਰਜ਼ਾਰ ॥
hamaakhar chi maradee kunad kaarazaar |How could bravery ultimately withstand in the field,
ਕਿ ਬਰ ਚਿਹਲ ਤਨ ਆਯਦਸ਼ ਬੇਸ਼ੁਮਾਰ ॥੪੧॥
ki bar chihal tan aayadash beshumaar |41|when only forty were surrounded by innumerable warriors?41.
ਚਰਾਗ਼ੇ ਜਹਾਂ ਚੂੰ ਸ਼ੁਦਹ ਬੁਰਕਾ ਪੋਸ਼ ॥
charaage jahaan choon shudah burakaa posh |When the lamp of the world veiled itself,
ਸ਼ਹੇ ਸ਼ਬ ਬਰਾਮਦ ਹਮਹ ਜਲਵਾ ਜੋਸ਼ ॥੪੨॥
shahe shab baraamad hamah jalavaa josh |42|the moon shone in brightness during the night.42.
ਹਰਾਂ ਕਸ ਕਿ ਕਉਲੇ ਕੁਰਆਂ ਆਯਦਸ਼ ॥
haraan kas ki kaule kuraan aayadash |He, who puts faith on the oaths of the Quran,
ਕਿ ਯਜ਼ਦਾਂ ਬਰੋ ਰਹਿਨੁਮਾ ਆਯਦਸ਼ ॥੪੩॥
ki yazadaan baro rahinumaa aayadash |43|the Ture Lord gives him the guidance.43.
ਨ ਪੇਚੀਦਾ ਮੂਇ ਨ ਰੰਜੀਦਹ ਤਨ ॥
n pecheedaa mooe na ranjeedah tan |There was neither any harm nor injury
ਕਿ ਬੇਰੂੰ ਖ਼ੁਦਾਵਰਦ ਦੁਸ਼ਮਨ ਸ਼ਿਕਨ ॥੪੪॥
ki beroon khudaavarad dushaman shikan |44|My Lord, the vanquisher of the enemies, brought me to safety.44.
ਨ ਦਾਨਮ ਕਿ ਈਂ ਮਰਦਿ ਪੈਮਾਂ ਸ਼ਿਕਨ ॥
n daanam ki een marad paimaan shikan |I did not know that these oath-breakers
ਕਿ ਦੌਲਤ ਪ੍ਰਸਤਸਤੁ ਈਮਾਂ ਫ਼ਿਗਨ ॥੪੫॥
ki daualat prasatasat eemaan figan |45|were deceitful and flowers of mammon.45.
ਨ ਈਮਾਂ ਪ੍ਰਸਤੀ ਨ ਅਉਜ਼ਾਇ ਦੀਂ ॥
n eemaan prasatee na aauzaae deen |They were neither men of faith, nor true followers of Islam,
ਨ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਸ਼ਨਾਸੀ ਨ ਮੁਹੰਮਦ ਯਕੀਂ ॥੪੬॥
n saahib shanaasee na muhamad yakeen |46|they did not know the Lord not had faith in the prophet.46.
ਹਰਾਂ ਕਸ ਕਿ ਈਮਾਂ ਪ੍ਰਸਤੀ ਕੁਨਦ ॥
haraan kas ki eemaan prasatee kunad |He, who follows his faith with sincerity,
ਨ ਪੈਮਾਂ ਖ਼ੁਦਸ਼ ਪੇਸ਼ੋ ਪਸਤੀ ਕੁਨਦ ॥੪੭॥
n paimaan khudash pesho pasatee kunad |47|he never budges an inch from his oaths.47.
ਈਂ ਮਰਦ ਰਾ ਜ਼ੱਰਹ ਏਤਬਾਰ ਨੇਸਤ ॥
een marad raa zarah etabaar nesat |I have no faith at all in such a person for whom
ਚਿ ਕਸਮੇ ਕੁਰਾਨਸਤ ਯਜ਼ਦਾਂ ਯਕੇਸਤ ॥੪੮॥
chi kasame kuraanasat yazadaan yakesat |48|the oath of the Quran has no significance.48.
ਚੁ ਕਸਮਿ ਕੁਰਾਂ ਸਦ ਕੁਨਦ ਇਖ਼ਤਯਾਰ ॥
chu kasam kuraan sad kunad ikhatayaar |Even if you swear a hundred times in the name of the Quran,
ਮਰਾ ਕਤਰਹ ਨਆਯਦ ਅਜ਼ੋ ਏਤਬਾਰ ॥੪੯॥
maraa katarah naayad azo etabaar |49|I shall not trust you any more.49.
ਅਗਰਚਿ ਤੁਰਾ ਏਅਤਬਾਰ ਆਮਦੇ ॥
agarach turaa eatabaar aamade |If you have even a little of faith in God,
ਕਮਰ ਬਸਤਏ ਪੇਸ਼ਵਾ ਆਮਦੇ ॥੫੦॥
kamar basate peshavaa aamade |50|come in the battlefield fully armed.50.
ਕਿ ਫ਼ਰਜ਼ਸਤ ਬਰਸਰਿ ਤੁਰਾ ਈਂ ਸੁਖ਼ਨ ॥
ki farazasat barasar turaa een sukhan |It is your duty act on these words,
ਕਿ ਕਉਲੇ ਖ਼ੁਦਾ ਅਸਤ ਕਸਮਸਤ ਮਨ ॥੫੧॥
ki kaule khudaa asat kasamasat man |51|because for me, these words are like the Orders of God.51.
ਅਗਰ ਹਜ਼ਰਤਿ ਖ਼ੁਦ ਸਿਤਾਦਾ ਸ਼ਵਦ ॥
agar hazarat khud sitaadaa shavad |If the Holy Prophet had been there himself,
ਬਜਾਨਿ ਦਿਲੇ ਕਾਰ ਵਾਜ਼ੇਹ ਸ਼ਵਦ ॥੫੨॥
bajaan dile kaar vaazeh shavad |52|you would have acted on them with all your heart.52.
ਸ਼ੁਮਾ ਰਾ ਚੁ ਫ਼ਰਜ਼ਸਤੁ ਕਾਰੇ ਕੁਨੀ ॥
shumaa raa chu farazasat kaare kunee |It is your duty and a binding on you
ਬਮੂਜਬ ਨਵਿਸ਼ਤਾ ਸ਼ੁਮਾਰੇ ਕੁਨੀ ॥੫੩॥
bamoojab navishataa shumaare kunee |53|to do as bidden in writing.53.
ਨਵਿਸ਼ਤਾ ਰਸੀਦੋ ਬਿਗੁਫ਼ਤਹ ਜ਼ੁਬਾਂ ॥
navishataa raseedo bigufatah zubaan |I have received your letter and the message,
ਬਬਾਯਦ ਕਿ ਕਾਰੀਂ ਬਰਾਹਤ ਰਸਾਂ ॥੫੪॥
babaayad ki kaareen baraahat rasaan |54|do, whatever is required to be done.54.
ਹਮੂੰ ਮਰਦ ਬਾਯਦ ਸ਼ਵਦ ਸੁਖ਼ਨਵਰ ॥
hamoon marad baayad shavad sukhanavar |One should act on his words
