ਐਸੀ ਭਾਤਿ ਹੇਰ ਕੈ ਨਿਬੇਰ ਦੀਨੇ ਸੂਰ ਸਬੈ ਆਪ ਬ੍ਰਿਜਰਾਜ ਤਾ ਕੇ ਉਠੇ ਗੁਨ ਗਾਇ ਕੈ ॥੧੫੯੫॥
aaisee bhaat her kai niber deene soor sabai aap brijaraaj taa ke utthe gun gaae kai |1595|After wounding the king, he himself was wounded and then fell down, in this way, he searched for warriors and destroyed them, seeing his bravery, Krishna himself began to praise him.1595.

ਤਿਹ ਨ੍ਰਿਪ ਕੋ ਪਉਰਖ ਸੁਜਸੁ ਮੁਖ ਸੋ ਕਹਿਯੋ ਸੁਧਾਰਿ ॥੧੫੯੬॥
tih nrip ko paurakh sujas mukh so kahiyo sudhaar |1596|Seeing towards Yudhishtar and considering him as his devotee, Krishna told him in a nice manner about the bravery of the king.1596.

ਭਾਰੇ ਭਾਰੇ ਸੂਰਮਾ ਸੰਘਾਰਿ ਡਾਰੇ ਮਹਾਰਾਜ ਜਮ ਕੀ ਜਮਨ ਕੀ ਘਨੀ ਹੀ ਸੈਨਾ ਛਈ ਹੈ ॥
bhaare bhaare sooramaa sanghaar ddaare mahaaraaj jam kee jaman kee ghanee hee sainaa chhee hai |This king, Kharag Singh, has killed mighty warriors and Yama’s dense like clouds
ਸਸਿ ਕੀ ਸੁਰੇਸ ਕੀ ਦਿਨੇਸ ਕੀ ਧਨੇਸ ਕੀ ਲੁਕੇਸ ਹੂੰ ਕੀ ਚਮੂੰ ਮ੍ਰਿਤਲੋਕ ਕਉ ਪਠਈ ਹੈ ॥
sas kee sures kee dines kee dhanes kee lukes hoon kee chamoon mritalok kau patthee hai |He has despatched to the world of death all the four divisions of the army of Sheshnaga, Indra, Surya, Kuber etc.
ਭਾਜ ਗੇ ਜਲੇਸ ਸੇ ਗਨੇਸ ਸੇ ਗਨਤ ਕਉਨ ਅਉਰ ਹਉ ਕਹਾ ਕਹੋ ਪਸ੍ਵੇਸ ਪੀਠ ਦਈ ਹੈ ॥
bhaaj ge jales se ganes se ganat kaun aaur hau kahaa kaho pasves peetth dee hai |What to say of Varuna, Ganesh etc., seeing him, even Shiva went back
ਜਾਦਵ ਸਬਨ ਤੇ ਨ ਡਾਰਿਓ ਰੀਝ ਲਰਿਓ ਹਾ ਹਾ ਦੇਖੋ ਨ੍ਰਿਪ ਹਮ ਤੇ ਬਜਾਇ ਬਾਜੀ ਲਈ ਹੈ ॥੧੫੯੭॥
jaadav saban te na ddaario reejh lario haa haa dekho nrip ham te bajaae baajee lee hai |1597|He did not fear any Yadava and pleasingly, fighting will all of us, he has gained victory over all of us.1597.

ਯਹ ਸਮਾਜੁ ਤੁਮ ਹੀ ਕੀਯੋ ਕਉਤੁਕ ਦੇਖਨ ਕਾਜ ॥੧੫੯੮॥
yah samaaj tum hee keeyo kautuk dekhan kaaj |1598|Yudhishtar said with humility, “O Lord of Braja! all this play has been created by you in order to see the sport.”1598.

ਯੌ ਨ੍ਰਿਪ ਹਰਿ ਸੇ ਬਚਨ ਸੁਨਾਏ ॥
yau nrip har se bachan sunaae |Thus the king (Yudhisthara) spoke to Sri Krishna.
ਬਹੁਰੇ ਉਨਿ ਭਟ ਮਾਰਿ ਗਿਰਾਏ ॥
bahure un bhatt maar giraae |(There) he (Kharag Singh) again killed more warriors.
ਪੁਨਿ ਮਲੇਛ ਕੀ ਸੈਨਾ ਧਾਈ ॥
pun malechh kee sainaa dhaaee |Then the Malech army attacked.
ਨਾਮ ਤਿਨਹੁ ਕਬਿ ਦੇਤ ਬਤਾਈ ॥੧੫੯੯॥
naam tinahu kab det bataaee |1599|On this side Yudhishtar said this to Krishna and on that side the king Kharag Singh knocked down a large part of the army, then the poet relates now,1599

ਨਾਹਿਰ ਖਾਨ ਝੜਾਝੜ ਖਾ ਬਲਬੀਰ ਬਹਾਦਰ ਖਾਨ ਤਬੈ ॥
naahir khaan jharraajharr khaa balabeer bahaadar khaan tabai |Then Nahir Khan, Jhrajhar Khan and Balbir Bahadur Khan;
ਪੁਨਿ ਖਾਨ ਨਿਹੰਗ ਭੜੰਗ ਝੜੰਗ ਲਰੇ ਰਨਿ ਆਗੇ ਡਰੇ ਨ ਕਬੈ ॥
pun khaan nihang bharrang jharrang lare ran aage ddare na kabai |Nahar Khan, Jharajhar Khan, Bahadur Khan, Nihang Khan, Bharang and Jharang were such expert warriors in warfare that they never had any fear of war
ਜਿਹ ਰੂਪ ਨਿਹਾਰਿ ਡਰੈ ਦਿਗਪਾਲ ਮਹਾ ਭਟ ਤੇ ਕਬਹੂੰ ਨ ਦਬੈ ॥
jih roop nihaar ddarai digapaal mahaa bhatt te kabahoon na dabai |Seeing whose figures even the protectors of the directions feared, such mighty warriors could never be suppressed by anyone
ਕਰਿ ਬਾਨ ਕਮਾਨ ਧਰੇ ਅਭਿਮਾਨ ਸੋਂ ਆਇ ਪਰੇ ਤਬ ਖਾਨ ਸਬੈ ॥੧੬੦੦॥
kar baan kamaan dhare abhimaan son aae pare tab khaan sabai |1600|All those Khans, taking their bows and arrows in their hands came to fight proudly with the king.1600.
ਜਾਹਿਦ ਖਾਨਹੁ ਜਬਰ ਖਾਨ ਸੁ ਵਾਹਿਦ ਖਾਨ ਗਏ ਸੰਗ ਸੂਰੇ ॥
jaahid khaanahu jabar khaan su vaahid khaan ge sang soore |They were accompanied by the warriors like Zahid Khan, Jabbar Khan and Wahid Khan
ਚਉਪ ਚਹੂੰ ਦਿਸ ਤੇ ਉਮਗੇ ਚਿਤ ਮੈ ਚਪਿ ਰੋਸ ਕੇ ਮਾਰਿ ਮਰੂਰੇ ॥
chaup chahoon dis te umage chit mai chap ros ke maar maroore |They rushed forward from all the four directions getting angry
ਗੋਰੇ ਮਲੇਛ ਚਲੇ ਨ੍ਰਿਪ ਪੈ ਇਕ ਸਿਆਹ ਮਲੇਛ ਚਲੇ ਇਕ ਭੂਰੇ ॥
gore malechh chale nrip pai ik siaah malechh chale ik bhoore |The malechhas of all colours, white, black, grey etc., marched forward to fight with the king
ਭੂਪ ਸਰਾਸਨੁ ਲੈ ਤਬ ਹੀ ਸੁ ਅਚੂਰ ਬਡੇ ਛਿਨ ਭੀਤਰ ਚੂਰੇ ॥੧੬੦੧॥
bhoop saraasan lai tab hee su achoor badde chhin bheetar choore |1601|At that very instant, the king, taking his bow in his hand, pulversied all these angry warriors.1601.
ਕੋਪਿ ਮਲੇਛਨ ਕੀ ਪ੍ਰਿਤਨਾ ਸੁ ਦੁਧਾ ਕਰਿ ਕੈ ਸਤਿ ਧਾ ਕਰ ਡਾਰੀ ॥
kop malechhan kee pritanaa su dudhaa kar kai sat dhaa kar ddaaree |The king, in ire, dividing the army of malechhas into two parts, broke them up further
ਬੀਰ ਪਰੇ ਕਹੂੰ ਬਾਜ ਮਰੇ ਕਹੂੰ ਝੂਮਿ ਗਿਰੇ ਗਜ ਭੂ ਪਰਿ ਭਾਰੀ ॥
beer pare kahoon baaj mare kahoon jhoom gire gaj bhoo par bhaaree |Somewhere the warriors, somewhere the horses powerful huge elephants lay dead
ਘੂਮਤਿ ਹੈ ਕਹੂੰ ਘਾਇ ਲਗੇ ਭਟ ਬੋਲ ਸਕੈ ਨ ਗਏ ਬਲ ਹਾਰੀ ॥
ghoomat hai kahoon ghaae lage bhatt bol sakai na ge bal haaree |The elephants had fallen after swinging
ਆਸਨ ਲਾਇ ਮਨੋ ਮੁਨਿ ਰਾਇ ਲਗਾਵਤ ਧਿਆਨ ਬਡੇ ਬ੍ਰਤਧਾਰੀ ॥੧੬੦੨॥
aasan laae mano mun raae lagaavat dhiaan badde bratadhaaree |1602|Some of the wouded warriors are writhing and some have lost the power of speech, some are sitting silently like some fasting hermit in meditation.1602.
ਜੁਧੁ ਇਤੋ ਜਬ ਭੂਪ ਕੀਓ ਤਬ ਨਾਹਿਰ ਖਾ ਰਿਸਿ ਕੈ ਅਟਕਿਓ ॥
judh ito jab bhoop keeo tab naahir khaa ris kai attakio |When the king waged a dreadful war, then in great rage Nahar Khan came and stood before him
ਹਥਿਆਰ ਸੰਭਾਰਿ ਹਕਾਰਿ ਪਰਿਓ ਜੁ ਸਮਾਜ ਮੈ ਬਾਜਿ ਹੁਤੋ ਮਟਕਿਓ ॥
hathiaar sanbhaar hakaar pario ju samaaj mai baaj huto mattakio |Holding his weapons, with dancing horse and challenging the king, he fell upon him
ਖੜਗੇਸ ਤਿਨੈ ਗਹਿ ਕੇਸਨ ਤੇ ਝਟਕਿਓ ਅਰੁ ਭੂਮਿ ਬਿਖੈ ਪਟਕਿਓ ॥
kharrages tinai geh kesan te jhattakio ar bhoom bikhai pattakio |Kharag Singh caught him by his hair, threw him on the ground, with a jerk
ਤਬ ਨਾਹਿਰ ਖਾ ਇਹ ਦੇਖਿ ਦਸਾ ਕਹਿ ਸ੍ਯਾਮ ਕਹੈ ਭਜਿ ਗਯੋ ਨ ਟਿਕਿਓ ॥੧੬੦੩॥
tab naahir khaa ih dekh dasaa keh sayaam kahai bhaj gayo na ttikio |1603|Seeing him in such plight, Tahir Khan did not stay there and fled away.1603.
ਨਾਹਿਰ ਖਾ ਭਜਿ ਗਯੋ ਜਬ ਹੀ ਤਬ ਹੀ ਰਿਸਿ ਖਾਨ ਝੜਾਝੜ ਆਏ ॥
naahir khaa bhaj gayo jab hee tab hee ris khaan jharraajharr aae |When Nahir Khan ran away, Jhrajhar Khan came in anger.
ਸਸਤ੍ਰ ਸੰਭਾਰਿ ਸਭੈ ਅਪੁਨੇ ਜਮ ਰੂਪ ਕੀਏ ਨ੍ਰਿਪ ਊਪਰਿ ਧਾਏ ॥
sasatr sanbhaar sabhai apune jam roop kee nrip aoopar dhaae |When Tahir Khan fled away, then, in great fury, Jharajhar Khan came forward and holding his weapons fell upon the king looking like Yama
ਭੂਪਤਿ ਬਾਨ ਹਨੇ ਇਨ ਕਉ ਇਨ ਹੂੰ ਨ੍ਰਿਪ ਕਉ ਬਹੁ ਬਾਨ ਲਗਾਏ ॥
bhoopat baan hane in kau in hoon nrip kau bahu baan lagaae |He discharged many arrows on the king and the king shot many arrows on him
ਕਿੰਨਰ ਜਛ ਰਰੈ ਉਪਮਾ ਰਨ ਚਾਰਨ ਜੀਤ ਕੇ ਗੀਤ ਬਨਾਏ ॥੧੬੦੪॥
kinar jachh rarai upamaa ran chaaran jeet ke geet banaae |1604|Kinnars and Yakshas praised their battle and the group of mistrels began to sing songs of victory.1604.

ਖੜਗ ਸਿੰਘ ਲਖਿ ਬਿਕਟਿ ਭਟ ਤਿਉਰ ਚੜਾਏ ਮਾਥਿ ॥
kharrag singh lakh bikatt bhatt tiaur charraae maath |Kharag Singh saw (Jhrajhar Khan) as a wicket warrior and put a teuri on his forehead.
ਸੀਸ ਕਾਟਿ ਅਰਿ ਕੋ ਦਯੋ ਏਕ ਬਾਨ ਕੇ ਸਾਥਿ ॥੧੬੦੫॥
sees kaatt ar ko dayo ek baan ke saath |1605|Kharag Singh seeing the stern warriors before him changed the signs on his forehead and with a single arrow, chopped the head of the enemy.1605.

pun khaan nihang jharrang bharrang chale mukh dtaalan kau dhar kai |Then Nihang Khan, Jharang Khan and Bharang Khan etc. marched forward, masticating their mouths with their shields
ਕਰਿ ਮੈ ਕਰਵਾਰ ਸੰਭਾਰਿ ਹਕਾਰਿ ਮੁਰਾਰ ਪੈ ਧਾਇ ਪਰੇ ਅਰਿ ਕੈ ॥
kar mai karavaar sanbhaar hakaar muraar pai dhaae pare ar kai |Then holding his sword in his hand, the king challenged and fell upon Krishna
ਦਲੁ ਮਾਰਿ ਬਿਦਾਰਿ ਦਯੋ ਪਲ ਮੈ ਧਰਿ ਮੁੰਡ ਸੁ ਮੀਨਨ ਜਿਉ ਫਰਕੈ ॥
dal maar bidaar dayo pal mai dhar mundd su meenan jiau farakai |The king beat and caused the army to flee and the trunks and heads began to writhe in the battlefield like fish
ਨ ਟਰੇ ਰਨ ਭੂਮਿ ਹੂੰ ਤੇ ਤਬ ਲਉ ਜਬ ਲਉ ਛਿਤ ਪੈ ਨ ਪਰੇ ਮਰਿ ਕੈ ॥੧੬੦੬॥
n ttare ran bhoom hoon te tab lau jab lau chhit pai na pare mar kai |1606|The warriors did not like to withdraw from the field till their death.1606.
