ਸੁਨਤ ਬਚਨ ਸਹਚਰਿ ਚਤੁਰਿ ਤਹਾ ਪਹੂਚੀ ਜਾਇ ॥
sunat bachan sahachar chatur tahaa pahoochee jaae |Hearing (the maiden's) words, Chatur Sakhi reached there
ਜਹ ਮਨਿ ਤਿਲਕ ਨ੍ਰਿਪਤਿ ਚੜਾ ਆਖੇਟਕਹਿ ਬਨਾਇ ॥੧੦॥
jah man tilak nripat charraa aakhettakeh banaae |10|Where Tilak Mani Raja was climbing for hunting. 10.

ਸਹਚਰਿ ਤਹਾ ਪਹੂੰਚਿਤ ਭਈ ॥
sahachar tahaa pahoonchit bhee |Sakhi reached there
ਨ੍ਰਿਪ ਆਗਮਨ ਜਹਾ ਸੁਨਿ ਲਈ ॥
nrip aagaman jahaa sun lee |Where he had heard about the arrival of the king.
ਅੰਗ ਅੰਗ ਸੁਭ ਸਜੇ ਸਿੰਗਾਰਾ ॥
ang ang subh saje singaaraa |(Sakhi's) limbs were adorned with beautiful adornment.
ਜਨੁ ਨਿਸਪਤਿ ਸੌਭਿਤ ਜੁਤ ਤਾਰਾ ॥੧੧॥
jan nisapat sauabhit jut taaraa |11|(It looked like this) as if the moon was shining in the stars. 11.
ਸੀਸ ਫੂਲ ਸਿਰ ਪਰ ਤ੍ਰਿਯ ਝਾਰਾ ॥
sees fool sir par triy jhaaraa |The woman had a square ornament on her head.
ਕਰਨ ਫੂਲ ਦੁਹੂੰ ਕਰਨ ਸੁ ਧਾਰਾ ॥
karan fool duhoon karan su dhaaraa |Two carnations were worn in the ears.
ਮੋਤਿਨ ਕੀ ਮਾਲਾ ਕੋ ਧਰਾ ॥
motin kee maalaa ko dharaa |A garland of pearls was worn
ਮੋਤਿਨ ਹੀ ਸੋ ਮਾਗਹਿ ਭਰਾ ॥੧੨॥
motin hee so maageh bharaa |12|And the mang was filled with pearls (meaning pearls were embedded in the beads). 12.
ਸਭ ਭੂਖਨ ਮੋਤਿਨ ਕੇ ਧਾਰੇ ॥
sabh bhookhan motin ke dhaare |(He) wore all the jewels of pearls
ਜਿਨ ਮਹਿ ਬਜ੍ਰ ਲਾਲ ਗੁਹਿ ਡਾਰੇ ॥
jin meh bajr laal guhi ddaare |In which red diamonds ('Bajra') were embedded.
ਨੀਲ ਹਰਿਤ ਮਨਿ ਪ੍ਰੋਈ ਭਲੀ ॥
neel harit man proee bhalee |Blue and green beads were well served.
ਜਨੁ ਤੇ ਹਸਿ ਉਡਗਨ ਕਹ ਚਲੀ ॥੧੩॥
jan te has uddagan kah chalee |13|(It looked like this) as if they had gone to the stars laughing. 13.
ਜਬ ਰਾਜੈ ਵਾ ਤ੍ਰਿਯ ਕੋ ਲਹਾ ॥
jab raajai vaa triy ko lahaa |When the king saw that woman.
ਮਨ ਮਹਿ ਅਧਿਕ ਚਕ੍ਰਿਤ ਹ੍ਵੈ ਰਹਾ ॥
man meh adhik chakrit hvai rahaa |(So) was very surprised in mind.
ਦੇਵ ਅਦੇਵ ਜਛ ਗੰਧ੍ਰਬਜਾ ॥
dev adev jachh gandhrabajaa |(The king wondered) whether this is a god, a demon, a yaksha or a gandharva girl.
ਨਰੀ ਨਾਗਨੀ ਸੁਰੀ ਪਰੀਜਾ ॥੧੪॥
naree naaganee suree pareejaa |14|Or it is the place of Nari, Nagni, Suri or Pari. 14.
ਦੋਹਰਾ ॥

ਨ੍ਰਿਪ ਚਿਤ੍ਰਯੋ ਇਹ ਪੂਛੀਯੈ ਕ੍ਯੋ ਆਈ ਇਹ ਦੇਸ ॥
nrip chitrayo ih poochheeyai kayo aaee ih des |The king thought that he should be asked why he had come to this country.
ਸੂਰ ਸੁਤਾ ਕੈ ਚੰਦ੍ਰਜਾ ਕੈ ਦੁਹਿਤਾ ਅਲਿਕੇਸ ॥੧੫॥
soor sutaa kai chandrajaa kai duhitaa alikes |15|Is this the daughter of the Sun, or the daughter of the Moon or the daughter of Kuber. 15.

ਚਲਿਯੋ ਚਲਿਯੋ ਤਾ ਕੇ ਤਟ ਗਯੋ ॥
chaliyo chaliyo taa ke tatt gayo |(The king) walked and approached him
ਲਖਿ ਦੁਤਿ ਤਿਹ ਅਤਿ ਰੀਝਤ ਭਯੋ ॥
lakh dut tih at reejhat bhayo |And was mesmerized by her beauty.
ਰੂਪ ਨਿਰਖਿ ਰਹਿਯੋ ਉਰਝਾਈ ॥
roop nirakh rahiyo urajhaaee |Stuck seeing his form
ਕਵਨ ਦੇਵ ਦਾਨੋ ਇਹ ਜਾਈ ॥੧੬॥
kavan dev daano ih jaaee |16|(And started thinking that) of which god or demon is it created. 16.
ਮੋਤਿਨ ਮਾਲ ਬਾਲ ਤਿਨ ਲਈ ॥
motin maal baal tin lee |That woman had taken a garland of pearls,
ਜਿਹ ਭੀਤਰਿ ਪਤਿਯਾ ਗੁਹਿ ਗਈ ॥
jih bheetar patiyaa guhi gee |In which she had hidden the letter.
ਕਹਿਯੋ ਕਿ ਜੈਸੀ ਮੁਝਹਿ ਨਿਹਾਰਹੁ ॥
kahiyo ki jaisee mujheh nihaarahu |(saying that) as (you) see me,
ਤੈਸਿਯੈ ਤਿਹ ਨ੍ਰਿਪ ਸਹਸ ਬਿਚਾਰਹੁ ॥੧੭॥
taisiyai tih nrip sahas bichaarahu |17|O Rajan! Consider him a thousand times more (beautiful) with me. 17.
ਦੋਹਰਾ ॥

ਨ੍ਰਿਪ ਬਰ ਬਾਲ ਬਿਲੋਕਿ ਛਬਿ ਮੋਹਿ ਰਹਾ ਸਰਬੰਗ ॥
nrip bar baal bilok chhab mohi rahaa sarabang |The king was completely enamored by the beauty of that noble lady.
ਸੁਧਿ ਗ੍ਰਿਹ ਕੀ ਬਿਸਰੀ ਸਭੈ ਚਲਤ ਭਯੋ ਤਿਹ ਸੰਗ ॥੧੮॥
sudh grih kee bisaree sabhai chalat bhayo tih sang |18|He forgot all the appearance of the house and went with him. 18.
ਚੌਪਈ ॥

ਲਾਲ ਮਾਲ ਕੌ ਬਹੁਰਿ ਨਿਕਾਰਾ ॥
laal maal kau bahur nikaaraa |(The king) then drew a garland of reds
ਪਤਿਯਾ ਛੋਰਿ ਬਾਚਿ ਸਿਰ ਝਾਰਾ ॥
patiyaa chhor baach sir jhaaraa |(And from it) opened the letter and read it and nodded.
ਜੋ ਸਰੂਪ ਦੀਯੋ ਬਿਧਿ ਯਾ ਕੇ ॥
jo saroop deeyo bidh yaa ke |(He thought) the form which the Creator has given to this (woman),
ਤੈਸੀ ਸੁਨੀ ਸਾਤ ਸਤ ਵਾ ਕੇ ॥੧੯॥
taisee sunee saat sat vaa ke |19|He has seven hundred such hearings. 19.
ਕਿਹ ਬਿਧਿ ਵਾ ਕੋ ਰੂਪ ਨਿਹਾਰੌ ॥
kih bidh vaa ko roop nihaarau |How to see his form
ਸਫਲ ਜਨਮ ਕਰਿ ਤਦਿਨ ਬਿਚਾਰੌ ॥
safal janam kar tadin bichaarau |And consider your life successful from that day.
ਜੋ ਐਸੀ ਭੇਟਨ ਕਹ ਪਾਊ ॥
jo aaisee bhettan kah paaoo |If such a (woman) is found,
ਇਨ ਰਾਨਿਨ ਫਿਰਿ ਮੁਖ ਨ ਦਿਖਾਊ ॥੨੦॥
ein raanin fir mukh na dikhaaoo |20|So don't show these queens again. 20.
ਵਹੀ ਬਾਟ ਤੇ ਉਹੀ ਸਿਧਾਯੋ ॥
vahee baatt te uhee sidhaayo |He walked towards him in the same way
ਤਵਨਿ ਤਰੁਨਿ ਕਹ ਰਥਹਿ ਚੜਾਯੋ ॥
tavan tarun kah ratheh charraayo |And took that woman on the chariot.
ਚਲਤ ਚਲਤ ਆਵਤ ਭਯੋ ਤਹਾ ॥
chalat chalat aavat bhayo tahaa |He came there gradually
ਅਬਲਾ ਮਗਹਿ ਨਿਹਾਰਤ ਜਹਾ ॥੨੧॥
abalaa mageh nihaarat jahaa |21|Where (that) woman was boiling. 21.
