The king also heard this news. 5.
(The king was told that) there is a woman said to be in this town.
(Her) name is called Hingula Devi.
She calls herself Jagat Mata
And puts the high and the low under her feet. 6.
(There) as many Qazis and Maulanas
Or there were Jogis, Sanyasis and Brahmins,
The worship of all of them decreased
And his recognition increased more.7.
All the beggars started eating with him.
Seeing him being offered a lot of money, he began to burn (very much in his mind).
They caught him and took him to the king
(And he) mockingly started saying like this. 8.
May (it) also show us some of its miracles,
Or don't call your name Bhavani.
Then the woman said thus,
O Rajan! Listen to my spoken words. 9.
adamant:
Muslims call the mosque the house of God.
Brahmin people consider stone as God.
If these people first show you by performing (some) miracles,
So after them I will also show them miracles. 10.
twenty four:
The king laughed hearing (this).
And many Brahmins, Maulanas,
Jogis, girls, Jangams,
He caught and called the monks who cannot be counted. 11.
adamant:
The king said thus from (his) mouth
And told those sitting in the assembly
that (first you) show me your miracles,
Otherwise, all will go to the house of the dead (i.e. will be killed). 12.
Hearing the words of the king, everyone became distraught.
All drowned in the sea of sorrow.
Looking at the king, he lowered his head
Because no one could show him miracles. 13.
Seeing no miracles (from any side), the king was filled with anger.
(He) inflicted seven hundred lashes on their bodies (and said)
Show me some of your miracles,
Otherwise, bend the lead on (this) woman's feet. 14.
Show us something from God's house,
Otherwise, shave the heads of these sheikhs.
O Mishra (even you) will not leave without seeing miracles.
Otherwise I will drown your Thakur in the river. 15.
O monks! show me a miracle
Otherwise remove (ie shave off) your jattas.
O Mundio! Now show me a miracle,
Otherwise, put your feet in the river. 16.
